Case No. 56
A committed Inspector James and a young detective Amar Sagar come together to solve the murder case of Kishore, who was the manager of Harsha Shinde – a well-known businessman. Clues they untie lead them no-where while instances they encounter lead them to believe it as an accident and close the case. Restless Amar continues his investigation as he believes it is a murder. The book starts with an unsure cause of death of a person- The detective nd Police officer tries to unwind the reasons of death..

The plot takes some time to unfold. But it does pack quite a few surprise elements towards the end. The initial investigation could have been elaborated . For a first novel it is decent enough.

Case No. 56 is a mystery novel - sorry guys for starting the review with the most obvious thing about the book. The book is a fast-paced one and involves solving the murder mystery of man (Kishore), who works as a manager at a wealthy family involved in real estate business. The hero of book - Amar along with his close friend - Nikhil and with the help of Police Inspector - James, tries to solve the case. The plot matures well, and the suspense builds on till the end. However, I was quite unhappy with the end. I don't want to be a spoiler here, but if you read the book, you will understand the reason of my un-satisfaction.

Emotions over ride science!
A good mystery novel. Just loved the intelligence of the detective to solve the mystery. Finished the book in a matter of 3 hours due the captivating narration.

Had me hooked from the beginning but the revelation at the end doesn't come from the protagonist also the English could have been improved, not much character development though, it was kinda OK

For its commendable intent and realistic narration, the book deserves a four star. Understanding that it is a debut novel, I am opting a five star. Neat and artistic thriller.

Exciting Twists and Turns!!!
The investigation is exciting. End is unexpected.
Plot was good.
Somewhere in between, we get a feeling that a few things are unnecessary, but later we realize that they are not.
Characters and situations are developed well.

preety good!
Considering author's first crime novel, it's an interesting story and very unique. But at some part I felt the common sense of the investigator little laging. But overall its a very nice book and am looking forward to read some amazing books from Author in near future.

Good one.
The language may not be sophisticated but it's enjoyable. Sometimes the drama drags but the revelations keep you engaged.
You can't guess the culprit until confession.

Perfect case for a light read!
Case no. 56 is a decent crime thriller that seems to have been inspired by multiple novels with similar plots. A murder happens at a gathering, and each of the attendees is a suspect. The detective solves the mystery with the help of a sidekick.
The author made a sincere attempt to develop the story and add twists to keep us turning the page. However, the twists are either expected or farfetched. Anyone interested in watching Bollywood thrillers will enjoy the book.
The plot has been developed within the Indian context that helps an Indian commoner like me to build a world in my mind as I read the novel. The author should have spent more time making the characters. For eg., the protagonist keeps saying that his sidekick is of great support to him. However, no strong point in the novel corroborates this view.
The book is a short quick read that we can complete in a day or two. However, the novel needs a lot of editing. There are multiple grammatical errors that distract the flow while reading.
In summary, Case no. 56 is a decent attempt by an Indian author in the thriller genre. We can give it a try if we want to read a quick crime mystery.

Very poorly written book. Characters are not developed well, the plot is weak. I would not recommend it at all. The desperate attempt to make the characters look smart failed miserably, and they ended up looking almost foolish.
I literally fast forwarded and skipped a couple of pages which seemed extremely irrelevant.
SPOILER:
No detective ever must have voices his speculations out to the suspects - they are arguing about where Ishant went on the night when he left office for hours! All this in front of his boss, whom they were questioning. Literally funny.
The author tried too hard to make Ishant seem the key suspect for his suspicious behaviour to the audience. It didn't work at all.
Lots and lots of pages wasted - book could be 1/4th of what it is currently.
And eventually, the murder mystery was solved by a confession!
Also, you have already ruined the book when you have the DRAW a diagram for readers to understand a simple setting.

✍ Slowly the story unfolds involving the connection between the two murders.
✍With each page the story becomes more and more interesting. Gradually the curiosity starts building up with
the detective's doubt shifting from one person to another.
✍Will the detective be able to solve this case ? Will the family members co-operate in the investigation process?
✍The suspense unraveling will keep you hooked till the end. But unfortunately ending was not that impactful.

Detective novels are something that I am not familiar with, but I seem to like them the more I read. While I read a couple of James Hadley Chase novels a few years ago, Sir Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series was my true exposure to the genre. While I’ve been in awe of Sherlock Holmes, Amar Sagar from Case No. 56 seemed more relatable. Chandrashekar Nagawaram’s debut novel is almost like a classic thriller movie. It takes you from one scene to the other, building tension gradually before a mind-blowing climax.

Good book
Intial pages were not that intresting. Though I forced myself to have a start.
And once the detective starts unveiling the clues it becomes more intresting. But climax was little lagging.
The author intially says james was unable to solve his 56 case you will understand this meaning at the last line of the book.
Even though its first book of author it is very well written.

Writing style is very simple, I didn't have to use dictionary at all, and I love that. I prefer reading simple books, so that I can enjoy it without any pause inbetween. About book, I loved it. This book did well in terms of keeping the suspense and anxiety through out. I like how author portrayed the culprit and the back story which was beyond my guess.

Disappointed that I picked this up and wasted my time. The plot was bad. The characters were bland with no development at all. The dialogs including protagonist's mind ramblings were abysmal. Basic English was poor. The "mystery" and the motive was laughable. Avoidable at all costs. Easily the worst book I have come across in this genre.

Unexpected
While reading the book I did not expected that it will turn out be a wild one in the End. The book is decent but the Ending will blow your Brains Out. I wanted to give this book a 4.5 stars, but it is not possible.
Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Author does a fairly decent work considering it to be his first book . The story telling goes around a little too nagging and takes a lot of time to unfold . A good mystery which could have been done in a better way !
