The book is old, very basic and doesn’t cover many details and aspects. For some reason, around half of the book is dedicated to Windows Server advertising that was neither interesting nor educational. As for me a complete waste of time and the only positive point was that I had it in O’Reilly subscription.

When I've got my hands on this book I was looking for something else than the amazing Tanebaum, a book that was covering Networks from A to Z. I was certainly NOT looking for a book dedicated to Microsoft OSs families that wastes half of each chapter telling me how amazingly that specific service or feature was implemented in Windows Vista or 7. Now, was it?

Anyway, the concepts are there, but are not very clear. I have a strong background on networks so that I am kinda biased. I can certainly tell that concepts are discussed in a very basic way.

This book is far from that great Computer Networks by Tanenbaum.
