Perry was a nobody. A nothing. Until she met him and became THEIRS.
Farmers' stock with curves as thick as her Tennessee accent, Perry didn't expect much out of life. She had a cause she fought tooth and nail for, a career that meant everything, and a best friend who meant the world to her.
Of course, that best friend wasn't just anyone.
Unlike Perry who was a nobody, George DeSauvier was a prince. An honest to God prince. Through him, a world of connections opened up, but Perry? She was happy with her link to George.
Until he took her home.
Until she met his brother, the future king.
And his cousin, a Duke.
Of course, when they met her, they saw her for what she was.
Not just a nobody.
She was everything.
More importantly, she was theirs.
Now they just had to make her see that...

I could add *for a long time* but not even. I put this story in my top 10 of all times!
What I liked? Everything but one thing.
I liked the characters. Every single one was not only lovable but I read a true relationship development with each one of them. It was not fall in lust bam I love you within 24 hours. The relationships had a timeline. I like the heroine who was very relatable. I liked the plot that was integrated inside the love story but not like a villain showing up out of nowhere. Sex scenes were inserted at the right moment. I was not drowned with them. The author gave more rooms to the relationships and plot which was the perfect balance. It was truly a story I could not put it down.
The story was cleverly developed. It kept me on my toes. 1/ introduction 2/ development 3/ conclusion. It sounds very basic but it definitely was made smoothly.
I also have to say that I enjoyed the English writing. For a change, I felt I was reading good English and not basic. It is important to me because I am French Canadian and my mother tongue is not English. So I do see the difference when I stopped and checked the dictionary here and there. And I consider myself 99% bilingual so I truly loved it that I could learn few words here and there! Aka ‘she was flailing’ which of course is not an expression we daily use 😆
So what didn’t I like then?
I would have liked more development with Edward but that was not a issue overall, just an extra. I think I missed a couple of POV from him.
I will also add that the epilogue should have ended with the 4 characters, not 2. It was not a bad epilogue at all but I needed more equality there. For me. The HEA is 4, I wanted to end on this note.
The author didn’t check her French dammit! One single expression and she got it wrong!!
La petite mort ............. NOT le petit mort (author: please edit! ... ETA: the author promised to rectify the version 🙂 Years ago I would have left an average review for that. I did! Lucky for this author that it was one mistake and I loved the story
It is a long story, a trilogy. I enjoyed it so much only because I had the complete story available. I am pretty sure I would’ve not enjoy it so much otherwise. I also enjoyed it because the author didn’t drag me on 20 serial cliffhangers spread on months and months to know the conclusion.... see what I mean?
I'm reading this between the Quintessence Omnibus thingies, and I have to say I'm disappointed that I lost interest in book 2 and 3. Quintessence had so many books and still, I kept going, thoroughly captured by the heroes. Maybe it's the setting in Veronia. I didn't really care much about what was happening outside of the personal relationships of the three men and Perry. That's where Quintessence is different I suppose- it focuses on the relationships and the rest is a side story that I gladly follow. I now continue with book 3 of Quintessence, and I look forward to see how Veronia is once again involved!
So this is 3 books in one (Perry & Her Princes, Her Highness Princess Perry, and Long Live Queen Perry). I stopped after finishing chapter 16, with four more chapters to go in the first book. DNF. It doesn't make sense to me that the moment she hears that their lives could be in danger from rebel anti-royals, she decides that these men are hers and how dare anyone threaten or hurt them. Then the king says George will have to stay in Veronia instead of going back to the US. I think she was just terrified of losing George, so she blurted out that she and Edward were dating.
It's absurd cos there may be chemistry between her and Edward, but they don't even know each other. She has years of history with George being her best friend, and she connected and has many things in common with Xavier, George's cousin. But she and Edward don't seem to have anything in common at all.
I also don't like that she actually loves George but will have to be Edward's wife, just because he's the crown prince and he needs to have an heir. George will become her dirty little secret. She and George are so close and know each other so well, but how is this going to affect their closeness? It's just not fair to either of them. Can she even spend the night with him? Surely not, because palace staff will talk. They'll have a lifetime of quick interludes, can't even hold hands in public, probably can't even look at each other in public because their eyes and expressions would give each other away. How is that any way to live?
I don't like that George, Edward, and Xavier all agree that she doesn't have the bearing of a queen -- too outspoken, too informal, too open. George claims this is why she's a breath of fresh air, but all this is going to be drummed out of her the moment she's required to take lessons in deportment and protocol. It's going to make her question herself and become a version of all the courtiers they so despise. In effect, they're going to kill or at least suppress the part of her which makes her so unique and charming. Basically, it's like getting the toy you most coveted and then breaking it in half.
But her taking off her shoes in front of the Kong and queen the first time they meet her -- that was absurd and I thought the author went too far in trying to portray her as someone who doesn't stand on ceremony and doesn't care about convention. No one would ever do that, no matter how uneducated they were about royal etiquette, and no matter how uncaring they were about trying to impress the king and queen. I don't care how much her feet hurt, it just didn't make sense for her to do that. I could see her slipping them off under the table during the reception and then having trouble finding them again, that would be normal. But not taking them off and blithely telling the queen that she had to or she would fall over, no.
George doesn't act like a man in love. I really feel like he was manipulative and he threw Perry into the deep end without preparing her. They all say that she has a choice, but she's feeling pressured because she's also told that if she doesn't accept Edward, she can never change her mind again. And George pressures her in his own way by saying that sharing a woman with his brother is something he needs and that he wants to make his brother happy. He never once focuses on what he wants to give HER or why this would be great for HER. It's all just about him and his brother and how they always shared until his brother got married and it's something he misses, something he knows his brother needs to make him happy in a life filled with duty and responsibility. He doesn't even tell her that he knows she read those ménage books and that he would love to fulfill her fantasy. No, his focus is not on her or what she wants and needs AT ALL. It's selfish.
The only guy I liked here was Xavier. He didn't have his own agenda. I wasn't sure I liked Perry propositioning him the first night they met. It seemed out of character for her, although they did 'click' almost immediately and have a lot to talk about. But he's a good guy, he likes Perry, he's straightforward with her in a way that George wasn't.
Edward, at this point, is charmed by Perry and physically attracted to her but not even very fond of her yet. So I like even less that Perry decides to announce that they are dating. If they'd at least kissed, then maybe I could understand it: something to make me understand why she feels so drawn to him. It feels like he doesn't think of Perry as a person. The vibe I get is that she's this chick he's attracted to, that he knows his brother loves, and suddenly he's hot to f*ck her because he hasn't shared a woman with his brother for so long. She's just a body to him. Conveniently someone that his brother wants, and longs to share with him, and he's just going along for the ride.
So I don't feel it's worth continuing with this series. Gonna find something else to read.
Overall, I give this series a three star. In the first series, it was believable. There were real life landmarks and current ish, events that you could check out however, in this series, they are talking about a fake af ruling government. It just seemed unbelievable. And the book is listed as contemporary not fantasy so, I was lost...speaking of being lost! The very first book of the series had me completely and utterly lost as to wtf was going on! There should have been more build up. Also, I would have loved to have seen a birth scene with her mother there, you know, since the author made such a huge deal about her mother being at the birth and all that... Did she make it? We don't know....
Theirs is a trilogy I’ll remember and reflect on as continue my obsession reading this genre.
Perry, the most unrefined American, along with her best friend, George, start off this series heading back to his home country. She thinks it’s due to her specialty in ecological conservation. While true, Prince George also wants more from the woman he secretly loves.
After meeting Xavier, a man with aspirations and an education similar to Perry’s, the timeline for George to work his plan with his brother, The Crown Prince, Edward of Veronia, moves up dramatically.
Thrust into two vastly different and socially difficult worlds Perry doesn’t understand, she fights to absorb life in the royal household and battling the idea of her best friend loving her but wanting to share her with his brother. Add in her desire for Xavier, a man she refuses to give up, leaves Perry needing answers and finding love in a way she never thought possible.
The story is written beautifully and tells the tales of the boys growing up, falling out, coming of age and banding together not only for the sake of their country but the bond they realized was always there. Perry ultimately saves the country by saving the men she loves not only separately but as a whole.
This honestly would be a five star read for me if there was a bit more attention to the writing of scene with more than one male involved. Often I found myself going back a page or two because “he said” or “his feeling” would be discussed with no reference as to which “he” was speaking. This is consistent through the series and truly my only complaint.
If you like reading about a girl becoming a princess with reverse harem themes, you will enjoy this book as much as I have.
So I absolutely loved the series that this is a crossover from. The quintessence is amazing. . This particular book really falls short in many ways.
The characters Mumble a lot As in the author uses mumbled mumbled mumbled mumbled know they just Mumble a lot. It seems weird.
Secondly and probably the most important if a British author is going to write an American MC then they really really need to get Americans to do their Alpha and beta reads for them. It drove me. Absolutely insane. To see the British nicknames and British usage for things. That the American character was saying. Example: bupkus. Bupkus Is a Yiddish word. It's very commonly used by New Yorkers. It's a colloquialism. It has moved into American common usage.
And the author repeatedly wrote is as "buttkiss" When the context clearly meant bupkus.
That is just one example, but there are many throughout the book that drove me absolutely insane because it would take me out of the story. .
The story itself was really good and I like the characters and I would like to see them again.
In the tub, I mentioned the repetition. And it's obvious that this was three short stories that have been glued together mostly because of the Recaps that were left in. When they weren't needed.
SPOLIER: The last third of the book has a huge mistake in it during the Christmas scene. Where a character that has already died is referred to multiple times as still being alive.
By the end of Theirs to Cherish by Serena Akeroyd, I needed to know if there was more about Perry, Edward, George and Xavier via a spin off story, and thankfully I was pointed in the direction of Theirs: The Veronia Collection. It was mentioned that it was best to read this story before continuing with the Quintessence series, so I did.
I absolutely loved this story. It allowed me to understand how Perry, Edward, Xavier and George came to be and the relationships they share with each other. This collection is three books in one boxset. Out of the three, my favourite is the final story – Long Live Queen Perry. The previous books tell us the story of how our leading characters met and show their progressing relationships, but it is the excitement and twists and turns in the final instalment that grabbed and held my attention the most.
I do enjoy a story involving royalty and this is up there among my favourites. This may be a reverse harem storyline, and although there are some steamy scenes, the author focuses more on the story she tells - which I enjoyed. I love a narrative to be more than just sex scenes so this ticked my box.
I am looking forward to continuing reading the Quintessence series, especially as we are currently in Veronia so will see more of Perry and her men. I’m pleased I know more about them and their circumstances.
‘Her beauty had stunned him from the start. But her intelligence? It floored him.’
Perry (age 33) is from Tennessee and met George in college. She is a scientist. She agrees to come to Veronia to help with their drought situation. Prince George DeSauvier (age 34) is returning home after 5 years. Edward (age 41) his brother, is the Crown Prince of Veronia. He is widowed and has to remarry to secure an heir. Duke Xavier DeSauvier (age 39) is the Princes’ cousin. He’s the Duke of Ansian and Lorrena.
I started this book after meeting these characters in ‘Theirs to Cherish’ to follow the reading order.
Perry jumping on Xavier right away didn’t make the most sense if she hasn’t been intimate in 6 years. The story is developing slowly so I am trying to stay into it.
HER HIGHNESS PRINCESS PERRY “You were born for this because you were born for me. For us.”
Things are getting interesting as the situation with the Unreal continue and Perry’s quest for new dams. Beautiful scenes with the royal wedding and the first quartet spicy scene.
LONG LIVE QUEEN PERRY “These moments might be rare, but they will be precious.”
Perry and her guys find their HEA after many twists. I loved seeing the way each of them stepped up, both for the kingdom and each other. ‘Edward was her silent strength. The man at her back, who always would shelter her and protect her. Xavier was the light at the end of the tunnel. He would speak for her when she was wordless. When she couldn’t make sense of things, he made them right for her. And George? He was her joker. He managed to make the darkest situations the lightest.’
So glad we get more glimpses of them in the quintessence collection!
What can I say about this book that hasn't already been said? I loved the books when they were separated, but reading them as one really had the story flow seamlessly in Theirs. I loved watching the relationships grow between each of Perry's men alone and together. Also watching Perry come into her own as the story progressed. The events that lead up to each milestone in each book set epic and forced each of them to come into their own roles. Nothing that happened seemed forced nor were the sex scenes either. They morphed in the story naturally and showed just how much each man loved Perry in their own ways. George, the best friend from the state's, Xavier a Duke who was also a scientist pulled Perry to him and Edward who just outright needed Perry for who she was. I loved this series as individual books and loved them even more combined into one book. Serena Akeroyd really knows how to develop the characters, have them evolve as each event happened and Perry always stayed true to herself! I highly recommend this book. #longlivequeenperry.
This trilogy is an extension from the Quintessence series. Just like that series, this is also an RH trilogy. It includes Perry, Edward-king in waiting, George - the younger prince and brother to Edward and, Xavier- the Duke and cousin to Edward and George. I fell in love with all of these characters. I really enjoyed the complexity of the story. It wasn't just a romance but a who done it, too. My only negative thoughts on this book were 1. The excessive inner dialogue and descriptions of the scene. I ended up skipping that a lot, especially when it went on for 3 to 4 pages on my Kindle.. I wish there had been more open dialogue between the characters.
2. I felt like scenes would end abruptly or not truly conclude. Along with the feeling that there were pieces missing throughout the book. Even though the end summarized everything I don't feel like, in areas, it would finish scenes between the characters.
But don't be discouraged by my thoughts of this book. It really is a great read!
'Theirs' is the type of book that you wish was your life. Its not even becoming royalty that is the draw, oh no, its the men that it includes. Edward, George and Xavier, what can i say about them but hot, hot and hot. Perry is one lucky girl! This story is about an intellectual scientist Perry and her story of love. Perry lived a relatively low maintenance life in the bustling USA when her best friend George takes her home to Veronia. Then her life is changed forever with the confrontation of her feelings for George, her desire for his cousin Xavier the Duke and the sexy proposition of his brother the crown Prince Edward. All of a sudden Perry's life is totally different and she has all the love and listened a girl could ask for. This book has plenty of trials and tribulations, sex and love, fear and joy. It will leave you feeling excited and glad that you read it.
I highly recommend this book. It is RH and would suit a mature audience.
Very rarely do you get a RH story where the bond between the men is a strong and loving as this one, and not in a MM way. I appreciated that the author combined what was once three stories in to one, but it did create some repetition in the narrative. I loved the first book, it was too short and moved so fast. A couple chapters in and the whole love square is exposed. I would have liked for the author to slow down and build up to it better. As fast as book one was, two was incredibly slow, and every time all four people were in the same place the scene ended. What? Why? I wanted to see more of their interactions with one another, that's what helps build the tension and longing and make a relationship like this believable.
Overall it was a good book, I just thought it could have been even better.
This is the first book I have read by Serena Akeroyd and I loved it! A delicious menage romance with a suspenseful storyline.
Perry, an unassuming environmental scientist, joins her best friend, Crown Prince George of Veronia, to his country to help with their conservation efforts. But there is more than meets the eye with her best friend George and his family. While Perry is distracted by her attraction to the hot, eligible royal guys vying for her attention, there is a tragedy waiting in the wings to destroy the royal family of Veronia and everyone that surrounds them, including Perry.
Perry is a little annoying at times, but I have to say she is one lucky girl! To be surrounded by three hot royal guys that only want you is so hot! I love menage stories but sometimes they lack an intriguing plot. 'Theirs' doesn't fit this stereotype. There is enough drama and suspense, in between the hot romance, to keep me satisfied.
This story could have been much better. There were a lot of grammar/spelling issues, repetition, not enough character and relationship building.
And the FMC drive me crazy, she’s a super smart scientist but does some really dumb stuff… like takes her shoes off on meeting the king and queen. I can understand she couldn’t handle the heels but at least wait a few more minutes. I mean I would take my shoes off in front of normal strangers much less a king and queen.
And all the conservation talk got really old and annoying. It really annoyed and bored me. There is more talk about flowers and cow poop ruining everything than actual relationship building. She is engaged to Edward and has barely talked to him but there’s been a ton of mentions of flowers, water and cow poop. It was just repetitive and boring.
I've given it a 4, because it is a great story in a lot of ways. There's a lot of tension, lifted with some beautiful moments. However, it borrows ~heavily~ from the lives of the British royal family, which you might only recognise if you've lived here or avidly followed their lives in the tabloids. I mean some of it is practically word for word, like a prince being told they can't go to a war zone because of the extra risk they then bring to their men, was a debate that raged with Princes William and Harry. There's also elements of Prince Edward and Mrs Simpson (emphasised by the names of the princes!), and Harry and Megan. Tbh, I found that pretty irritating, being no fan of the British monarchy.
Simply put ! This is the most detailed & classy take of multiple lovers. The self sacrifice of two men giving control over the one becoming his wife. Making it possible to love each other . A tale of soul bonds & self awareness. The willingness to share a love in order to have that love !! Being the outsider yet the very medicine that helps cure the broken pieces ! She’s an amazing woman with all her knowledge and skill. And add to that the power to love & her down to earth upbringing from Tennessee. Well she’s adorable & addictive.
Smiles Across the Miles ( BEING FROM TENNESSEE MYSELF THIS MADE ME SMILE READING IT ) GO VOLS LOL 😂
This is a rh story. Perry is a scientist and is brought to Veronia by her best friend George who is the prince of the country to help with a water crisis. However she does not realise that George has another reason for bringing her home with him. After a party where she meets his cousin Xavier and ends up doing the devil's tango with him. The next morning George finds them and reveals that he is in love with her, but he also wants to share her with his older brother, Edward the future King... She now has to figure out if she will accept not just them but the duty and responsibility to Veronia by being with them
I first stumbled onto her writing with the Quintessense series and fell in love!
Serena writes characters so well that you feel like you actually know them. Their joy, their frustration and their heartache are as real to you as your own.
I wanted to find a RH with a royal theme and a FB friend suggested Theirs. I recalled reading the crossover in the final book of Q, so I was excited to hear the whole story, and what a story it was! The shit that goes down for Perry in a year and a half... holy crap!
Take a chance and give this one a try, sweet, hot and totally binge worthy!
Literally the only reason I read this book was because the other series said I had to!! That they were connected? They were NOT! The other dudes didn’t come up anywhere in this series. I’m soooo confused. Did I read the wrong freaking one? Now I don’t even remember what was happening with the other one. Do I even want to go back & finish it? The series was alright. I did like it. I don’t have any actual complaints, nor was it bad. I think it’s just a matter of personal preference that I don’t love this author. Doesn’t mean her books aren’t still great & other people will not absolutely love them.
This was a pretty good book. I did remove two stars because the description of the female main character was irritating. I'm half Asian and there is no way one can look at someone's hair and eyes and think, Yep, just from her eye shape and hair I can tell she has a little Asian in her but it's barely there so it must be from a great grandparent.
And believe it or not the ethnic guessing game does happen in real life, even from virtual strangers, and not just in someone's mind but out loud and with the added joy of their guess for your ethnicity. Which. Is. Always. Wrong. So if you ever get the urge to do it, Don't.
Perry is one brilliant, tough Tennessee farm girl turned Princess!!! For a scientist and best friend of a prince her life takes a turn she never imagined!! Three steamy hot royal men all of herself! All dedicated to keeping her safe and oh so happy!! Love the roller coaster ride taking Perry from friend, to lover, to princess and to queen! Serena makes you fall in love with each character! And her story line is fantastic!!! So love this book collection!! Prepare to fall in love!!!!
*Spoiler Alert* Three guys - Edward, George and Xavier all want a relationship and to share Perry (FMC) but its not as easy as it sounds. Mainly because all the guys are related Oh and theyre all royalty. Which is not as good as it sounds. Assassin attempts, evil factions, a girl next door who is completely out of her depth and plenty of hot male action. Well a trio of them. An action-packed, joy-ride of a book that keeps you on your toes the whole way through. I didnt guess who they bad guys were at all. which is unusual for me lol. Just a damn great read
I love all of Serena's books! Perry doesn't realize when her best friend George, Prince of Veronia, takes her to visit his home he has other intentions. Perry has always been in love with him. She has choices to make, while trying to help the country of Veronia recover from a serious drought that could leave the country without water. I absolutely love this series. I love how the relationship between Perry and the 3 guys grows. Edward comes out of his shell so much for Perry. This story has all the elements of an amazing read. There is laughter, fear, anger, but most of all love.
Squeeeeeee!! I loved loved loved this book! A great storyline that was told well, with no errors that I could see and well edited. I love characters, how could you not adore Perry? And the guys are all a bit different but gel so well, George the happy best friend, his solemn big brother Edward and their cousin Xavier the sexy scientist. The story is romantic but with plenty my of action excitement and drama, it is a sweet romance tempered with steamy sexy scenes. I did not want to put it down!
If you haven't read yet, please stop what your doing as nothing is as important as this truely amazing book. With every page I became more stucked in and invested with Perry, Edward, George and Xavier 😍😍😍 loved every single second and can't wait to hear more of these awesome people.
Congratulations Serena, this book ticks all the boxes, had me crying and laughing. Love it ❤❤❤❤
Highly recommend all books by Serena, you won't regret it. Enjoy the craziness ☺
This was so rough. First of all, I didn't read the synopsis well clearly because I didn't realize she was going to get with a prince, his brother, and his cousin... I wish I had so that I wouldn't have wasted this time in my life (It takes a lot for me to dnf since I have the end of the year goal in mind, always). Between all the grammatical "had had" instances that I tried to ignore to the unsurprising pick me energy with no plot going on whatsoever. Like I actually don't know how this book is 700 pages long because it contained a whole lot of nonsense.
I am a big fan of Serena Akeroyd so I was really looking forward to reading this book and I was not disappointed! I truly enjoyed every page of this book from start to finish. I couldn't flip the pages fast enough! The story-line was original and I really liked the characters. I had a great time reading about Perry and her men and their story. This book had a little bit of everything, and I just really enjoyed it so I definitely recommend it!
So glad I’ve finally read this. Once again Serena has created a captivating reverse harem romance that does not disappoint. The story grows and flows so well that whilst there is no doubt some of the chapters are long it’s not a story that drags which makes it difficult to continue, this just works. The characters are likeable, the story enjoyable, and the action keeps you guessing until all is revealed.
This book was great. Loved it. It had some mystery and intrigue but it also had love, loyalty and sex. I almost wish I had read this one first but it was great to see how this group came to be. Loved the loyalty and love between Edward and George and how they got their relationship with Xavier back. Loved the common girl from Tennessee growing into the queen that she became. Thank you Serena for bringing them to life.
