I think there are two ways to look at my husband Lucas. Some find him scary. He’s big, broad, and works with the dead, but, to me, he’s the man I fell in love with the first time I saw him. He’s the man who makes me dinner, rubs my feet, and makes love to me until the sun washes away the stars.
I know there’s a side of him that he keeps from me. Another woman might be suspicious that he always comes home freshly showered or that he takes frequent business trips out of town. Yet, I trust him because he’d never betray me. His entire purpose is to protect me. Deep down, I know what he’s doing. Deep down, I know that he’s maintaining the balance between good and bad. Other people might not agree with his actions, but for me, our love will always be a killer.
Ok this was somewhat morbid, but also very good. I gotta admit, I was fascinated with the two sides of Lucas. It's not easy seeing a character as good when he tortures and kills on the side. You definitely get the sociopath vibes from him, but the way he loves and protects Angel is just so sweet. It's a bit confusing and I really liked it. The writing was well done. l say if you like a bit of dark, with a side of sweet, you gotta give this a try.
Whatever I could have expected this book to be, this was a complete surprise by Ms Goode, and a fantastic one at that.
In this dark romance, our h is a lawyer and H is a coroner. They’ve been happily married for a long time, until a series of murders start occurring around them, ridding the world of evil. A creepy OM also continuously stalks the h.. A common thread of mercenary justice connects them all.
In a very dexterish twist to a sweet romance, we have an unlikely couple fighting the evil around them, yet continuously supporting each other. I was amazed by the eerie feeling this book gave me, and felt like watching an episode of Criminal minds.
"A crime committed needs to be punished or people suffer, and in this case, my wife suffers and that's not acceptable."
My first serial killer romance! And what a deflowering that was lol! :D Lucas is a coroner in the mornings, justice seeker (aka offing criminals in creative ways) at night. He's married to the woman of his dreams, Angel, who works as a court reporter. She sees so many bad men get out without a punishment, and it bothers her. What's bothering her is disturbing her husband even more. It also goes hand in hand with his serial killer tendencies so yay! Everybody wins ^^
Now that you get what the book's about, here are my impressions-- It was short, cute, swept me right in and had just the right amount of hot scenes which were really hot. Lucas definitely has a way with hands and words and especially knows every single thing there is to know about making his wife extremely happy. I loved them both and I loved that their marriage still had that spark.
All in all a really fun read, totally recommended!
Médico forense, marido devoto y... asesino en serie!?

Killer Love de Ella Goode Serie Killer libro 1
Argumento:
Lucas has a hobbie.. if your a criminal or a rapist Lucas shall handle you since he is sorta a killer doing the world a big favor in killing these guys.
Good thing his wife Angel doesn't know lol ;) yet. They both have high demanding jobs a doctor/coroner and a court reporter, but lately Angel has been having a rough time with her job with the cases that are letting these criminals get away scott free and a creep of a lawyer who keeps popping up around the places she goes.
As for Lucas he is making sure none of the murders he is tied to come back to him, discovering his wife kink of being dominated and some creep who keeps harassing her.
No ow drama slight om drama (creepy coworker), no cheating, slight secondary chara, drama, sexy times, no virgins
Recommend- yes Cover-⭐⭐⭐⭐
Prologue Married couple No condom Slight knife kink Dom/sub undertons Safe-ish Hea Epilogue

I really enjoyed this story. This was a unique story in the insta love genre. Lucas loved his wife Angel so much and he absolutely hated to see her sad or upset. He lives a double life. One where he is a coroner helping the deceased and bringing justice to those who need it and his other life where he personally delivers justice to those who have escaped it. He would do anything for his wife and if that means taking out a few bad guys he’s all in. This is a darker read from Ella Goode and I really enjoyed it.
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No ow drama, a lawyer at the courthouse has a thing for h and is constantly in her space harassing her. Couple are already married when book starts but it’s said that h was a virgin before H, nothing about H’s past was mentioned. No abuse but H is a serial killer who kills those who have used system to escape justice.

aw this one was cute! very dexter vibes and i’m here for it. i love when the couple is already married but the Hero has to hide the crazy possessive/obsessive side to him because he’s scared to lose his wife. i would have loved there to be more scenes with the couple but it mostly had to do with the killings lol
This was my first book from this author and what the hell WAS I WAITING FORR !!! This novella gave very Dexter-y vibes and was absolute perfection with a perfect serial killer hero with questionable morals who's crazy in love and obsessed with his wife and a perfect, sweet, loving heroine. I have zero complaints but the fact I wish it was longer 😩 100% would recommend and 100% will check other books from Ella Goode!!
Great read! This starts off as married couple romance. It’s like Dexter meets instalove romance. Hero is intense, obsessed with heroine, and kills criminals who escape justice.
Aside from on page murder and gore, it’s safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned but it’s possible he was a virgin. Heroine was a virgin and has only been with hero. No others, tho h has a stalker. No abuse or cheating of any kind. HEA with epilogue
This is one definitely different and I’m not sure how to take it... Lucas and Angel are married and he will literally do anything, I mean anything to make sure she is happy and safe. It was good because of how sweet they were together and how much they loved each other.
Not sure about this one. I wanted to love it as the plot isn’t the same old trope and I love Ella Goode but I think this would have been more successful if the story was a bit longer and more developed. Didn’t feel like the relationship between Angel and Lucas was very developed. Just a lot of sex and “I’d do anything for her” from the Hero but that’s about it. Plus I love Goode’s sassy heroines and witty heroes which didn’t describe either of these characters so it was just ok for me.
4.5 stars ⭐️. It was hot, sexy and more than smut. Loved the hero, Dr Death. He was a man of few words but who loves his wife more than anything. My first time book where hero is coroner. May be that’s why there was a somber and serious undertones to the story. Loved the heroine too. She was the light to his darkness. As hero himself admits his anchor. This author is getting better and better. Recommended.
This was a different spin. Husband is secretly a serial killer. It reminded me a lot of Dexter. Great story with smoldering chemistry between Lucas and Angel. It’s a different story, but I liked it. Completely safe.
I definitely pushed my own boundaries with this one ... don't know what to write in this review ... I can only say I did not put the book down .. not for a moment ...
I really liked that this was a book about a couple who was already married and I get that this is not the usual trope/storyline for the author; but I just felt like the storyline was a little underdeveloped. I wanted a bit more depth, more personality, more conversations... not just all the sexy times and the profusions of how much she was his everything. This story --- with it's dark, Dexter like vibe --- had the potential for so much more; but for me, it was just okay.
Wow, what a wonderful story. I really enjoyed it. I loved the characters. I also loved that this couple has been married for a while. I can't wait to see what Ella comes up with next. I read an advanced copy of this book.
Was not expecting this at all! Completely different from her other books. I was hooked, it fascinated me. I couldn’t put it down.
Lucas is the medical coroner, the best there is. He’s meticulous and focused. But that’s not all he does. No this man rights the wrongs, the people who commit horrendous crimes and manage to walk away with a slap on the wrist may think they’ve gotten away with murder what they don’t expect is him.
Angel, Lucas’s wife is a court reporter she sees the pain and the anguish on the victims faces. It eats at her.
Lucas doesn’t like to see his wife upset. So he’ll do anything to keep her safe. Even if it’s ridding the world of the scum of the earth.
It’s not your normal love story with flowers and hearts. The heat is there, the chemistry is intense.
This was just really dodgy and somewhat questionable, but I kind of really liked it? (2.5 stars)
I mean it was kind of bland in the sense that it felt really underdeveloped (I mean I can't judge it too much as it was a novella)- but overall, I thought it was actually pretty entertaining.
For a dark romance it's actually a really cute story. If you like to read something short with a serial killer as the love interest and cute. This is the book. I really will have like it More if it had more drama but it's a comfy read.
This was okay, I liked the plot just because it was different and I was very curious oh how it would pan out. It wasn’t too bad, I did like the beginning a lot more than the ending but it was pretty good
This was Dexter just with a different occupation (the hero worked with dead bodies) and a wife who worked minus the kids, and minus a sister. Seriously, every little detail was Dexter. There was ZERO originality, and I was majorly disappointed.
I really enjoyed this crazy story. There’s something sick and twisted in all of us and sometimes you have to fully embrace such is the case with this story. You know it’s true love when someone will/does kill not only in your honor but also just to keep your little world safe. The heroine works as a court reporter and part of her job is sitting through court cases often listening to horrible details and then watching the obviously guilty defendant get away with their horrible crime. Predictably this bothers the heroine and she often offloads on her husband who just so happens to be the areas medical examiner. Not only is Lucas good with a knife and very familiar with crime scenes 🤫, he does not like it when his wife is afraid or upset in any way. The two are beyond obsessed with one another and it’s so disgusting I really can’t get enough 😍 While the book does open with them already together there’s still a decent amount of characterization for such a short read. Those of us who don’t mind our men a bit wild, crazy and obsessed will enjoy this killer read 🔪🔪
