Five years ago, I saw something I shouldn’t have.

Ominous, right?

But what really sucks is I got caught.

I’ve been trapped as my animal ever since, hidden away and forced to stay shifted and silent.

Until one day, when I get brought to a pet shop where a shifter recognizes me for what I am and brings me to her pack. A really friggen weird pack.

I need to get out of here.

But then I see him—the male wearing the chain around his neck. Maybe it’s his scent or his shiny stuff that draws me in. Either way, I’m going to bite him so good…just as soon as he stops fighting me off.

Surprisingly, this pack is starting to look a lot less weird and a lot more like home. Too bad the shadows of my past are hunting me down for ratting them out.

Life isn't easy as a new misfit, but it is worth the fight.

Author's Note: Every book in this series will be a stand-alone for that character, but will be a continuation of the Pack Aberrant story. Each book has a unique mate dynamic. Some main characters will have multiple mates, while some will have monogamous relationships. Reese will have one mate. Please be advised that this series is for readers 18 years and older, and includes explicit language and spicy scenes. Enjoy!

THIS IS AMAZING!!

I need more misfit books in my life!
---------------------------------

Okay, coming back to add more to this review. It has been 3 months since I read this book and looking at the title/cover still makes me smile. I can recall specific moments that make me laugh and I want to reread it already.
It can be a little sex heavy as Reese ends up going through her heat, but it is more than anything hilarious!
The romance??? Adorable. I giggled, I laughed, I sighed, I rooted for them the entire way. I don't know if it is possible for me to love this book any more than I do.... shoot, I think I'll be rereading it now.

I'm loving this series so far!

Reese is all about a majestic rat and a vulture finding love and happiness. Well, I mean that's not what it is alllll about. In it, you will meet Reese who is a rat shifter. Unfortunately for her, she has been trapped in her rat form for about 5 years. I have no idea how she handled this information but damn, I would've been freaking the freak out.

Besides her, you will meet Luca and he's a vulture shifter. After meeting one another, there was a little spark. Things didn't rush that quickly for them until she went into a massive heat wave. I mean, the girl was trapped in a rat form for five freaking years.. she had a lot of things to catch up on. Eventually Luca caved and helped her situation - boy did he help.

After that, they were basically inseparable and pretty cute. They, of course, had some drama - who doesn't in this series? It didn't take too long for everything to settle down and for secrets to come out. Things worked out in the end for everyone involved. Well not for Rick the Dick and Sid. Ouch!

The one thing that made me beyond happy was seeing everyone from the first book. I absolutely loved Addie and all bad ass duckery. The whole misfit gang is highly entertaining and I'm really intrigued about the next book.

2 Uninspired Stars

A pack of Misfits, a rat shifter who had been trapped for years and found her rescued by one of the members of Pack Misfits (Addie) and would now be hunted down by her old alpha - combined these plot strands and characteristics should have made for a good story, but sadly they didn't produce a fun and engaging read.

This book was such a let down for me, I was expecting so much but it turned out to be very predictable, the plot lacked energy and I found myself not that bothered about what would happen to the main characters. Some skim reading occurred when I had had enough of reading Reese's thoughts in rat and human form. This just didn't tickle my funny bone as it should have.

Fun. Steamy. Shifter goodness.

“I’m like Santa Claus—if Santa Claus was a rat and carried all his toys in a pair of boxers that he stole for himself.”

Raven Kennedy has done it again with the Pack of Misfits. Reese and Luca’s story was sweet, hot, funny, and even a little gritty. You feel for Reese because her story starts out not so hot, but when the Misfits find her, things start to look up. If you enjoy shifter romance and you just want something a little different, then this is what you’re looking for! Love this pack and can’t wait for what’s next.

A good shifter romance, although not anything I haven't seen before and kinda cringey in some places.

A mixture of good romance and a good central plot around the revenge and retribution by one alpha, who our main girl is running from. Along the way she predictably falls in love with another guy, has some predictable and cringey sex with him, but ultimately has a happy ending after being abducted and taken for one final showdown with the nemesis.

I loved this book so damn hard. Honestly I may even have a bit of a stomach ache from laughing so hard. Where book one did not live up to my expectation this one far exceeded them. I love this series about not so typical shifters aka misfits. This time we have a The heroines obsession with baubles and shiny things made me so insanely happy especially as she liked to procure said objects from anyone, usually under the cover of night. She’s a sneaky thing that’s for sure lol. The hero drew me in early on by leaving her these little gifts and honestly I just loved the progression of their relationship. Reese is the perfect addition to the misfit pack and they really show her what a true pack is all about. Alpha Hugo is the real deal and really looks after his people. When threats from the heroines past resurface, honestly it was the threat I worried more more about than the heroine especially once she had something/someone to fight for. Really loving this series and I can’t wait to dive into Jetta’s book and see what other animals/creature RK has in store for us. 😍😍😍

I can only speak on this book, being I haven’t read any other book in this series but i’m not sure why this book came with an 18 or older warning. It wasn’t very dark or graphically sexual. It was mostly fluff & comedy. It was an enjoyable ride but I doubt I’ll follow the series. It’s just not my cuppa ...

This is a quick, funny book that continues the Pack of Misfits series. The main character is Reese, a shifter who's been stuck in her pack rat form for years because of her evil alpha. Luckily, she's rescued by the Aberrant pack where she makes friends and finds her mate.

Because Reese was in her rat form for so long, she has the mannerisms of a rat even in her human skin. She swears by saying names of cheeses and things like 'cheese and crackers' which is kind of funny but I thought it was overdone. She also likes shiny things and can't stop herself from stealing from others constantly. Luckily for her the pack found it funny, but it would have bugged me for sure. Reese was an okay character, I just didn't connect to her and found her a bit over the top.

Luca is Reese's mate and he fits her perfectly. He thinks it's cute when she steals from him and finds shiny things to leave for her. He liked her right away and I was glad Luca was around to protect Reese and be there for her when she had no one else.

There isn't that much plot beyond Reese and Luca getting together. There's a bit of drama but it was over in two chapters. I would have liked more action, more fighting or something, but it was an okay read.

≡ REESE [PACK OF MISFITS #2] ≡

Raven Kennedy's Pack Of Misfits features three books at the time of this review, with each of them being a full-length, standalone novel. Thanks to which, I had the liberty to give a pass on Addie's book featuring reverse harem with a happy for now ending.

Don't get me wrong, I love a reverse harem in erotica novellas but in my romances? Eh, probably in the foreseeable future; I don't really know..

Curiousity got to me so I decided to sniff around the GR page for the third book too and it is not a reverse harem BUT not interesting enough of a blurb there to entice me. So book two here we go~

◤ If you haven't already guessed by now, yes, this is another M/F shifter romance, but with a Suzanne Wright kinda twist on the entire mate situation.

We're off to a very interesting start where the readers are introduced to Reese, a “majestic pack rat” shifter, who, for some reason seems to be stuck in her animal form, unable to shift no matter what. We're given a glimpse of her captivity but just a glimpse, mind you. To get you hooked onto the story so that you stay long enough for the big reveal. ✨The reason ✨.

Then for some reason, her cage opens up to reveal a bunch of people peering down at her with shock and a hint of confusion, only for Reese to later find out that she ended-up at the, almost fictional, Pack Of Misfits. Then we're re-introduced to Addie and her mates from the first book along with a bunch of others, whom I'm guessing, must be new to the old readers too.

Reese had the spotlight on her the entire time and I loved all the adventures she got into in her mouse-er, rat form. But that's where the highs ended.

The male lead wasn't my type, unfortunately.

He initially meets Reese when she's still in her animal form and enjoys her company in a way how a rational human would find a bunch of white mice to be cute.

Not that Reece has white fleece, it's brown. But you get the picture.

Although for Reece and her rat, it's an instant attraction at first smell situation, Lug Nut AKA Luca takes some time to get attracted to the human her. In fact, when *eye roll
Not the way I envisioned Luca begining to reciprocate her feelings but whatever.

Luca certainly isn't someone who always approaches Reese at all times of the day like he literally doesn't have a life to live other than banging the daylights out of Reese. That's something I appreciated, but it also made him seem less of a alpha male hero here. He is protective, but not OTT possesive in case you're looking for that.

The ending wasn't a HEA but gave way for the opening of the next book. ◢

Some notable, sexual innuendos :-

“There’s no shame in drilling things yourself when the contractor is out.”

“You should have made sure to check your fluids before we left, like a responsible vehicle owner.”

“Don’t worry, baby. I’m going to schedule you for regular maintenance.”

‘Oh, shut your rat trap. You just like him because of his shiny nuts.’

Love the misfits!!!

I adore the pack of misfits, they are such a diverse, yet somehow cohesive, group. From Addie’s Duck to Reese’s animal, not to mention their various mates, the members we’ve come to know have been expressive, interesting and downright charming. This book, which picks up just weeks after Addie’s own tale, introduces new characters while showcasing familiar faces, and teases where the pack will go from here. It’s Well written, hot as heck and the perfect standalone PNR. Nicely done.

First person, multiple POV, HEA PNR
M/F
Rating = mature
Character age range = 24+

Pros:
- Very well written.
- Some familiar characters.
- Love The various shifters.
- Alpha Hugo... I’ve got a crush. Can we get a book on him???
- Subtle strength is celebrated.

Cons:
- A few minor editing issues, does not detract.

Shapeshifter Reese is delivered to Addies (book one) pet store after her abuser’s landlord found her cage. She is a rat, stuck in her animal form. Being in her animal shape for so long makes the heatwave (the period where female shapeshifters becomes incredible horny) extra hard. One of the members of the Pack Aberrant, Luca/Lug nut, is the her body and rat’s choice of sexpartner.

”My tail twitches in agitation. I am not a cute, puny little mouse. I’m a pack rat, dammit.”

I liked the part where Reese was a rat, it was entertaining following her mindset. The heatwave, the threat and progress reminded me a lot of the first book “Addie”. Felt like the same concept one more time, unfortunately. It became boring in other word.

”I realize that my rat has a big ol’ crush on Lug Nut. I can’t really blame her. I think I might have a crush on him too.”

- No cheating
- OW/OM drama: the H has a ex girlfriend that causes some minor drama, but the h solves it maturely.
- Dual POV
- No epilogue. A ending that start off Jetta’s story but HEA/HFN for Luca and Reese

”I tug her against me, putting my hand on her ass as a surge of pleased possessiveness hits me. “This ass is mine,” I say with a squeeze. To bite. To smack. To pull onto my lap. To watch. To knead as I fuck her.
She looks pleased at my touch and my words, and reaches behind me and stuffs her small hand in my back pocket so that she’s holding my ass too. “Ditto.”

I loved being back in the world of pack aberrant. It was nice to see Addie and her mates again but I absolutely fell in love with Reese and Luca. Their dynamic was just perfect and both of them were so genuine. Can’t wait to meet more of the misfits from the pack.

Just what I needed

As an avid mood reader, Reese’s story was exactly what I needed. I loved the way we got to know Reese through her rat for a while. When she turned human though I found it interesting that things weren’t still difficult for her. I expected her to have a bit more difficulty adjusting to being a human again. I expected her to have issues with her senses, but that didn’t seem to be a problem for her. I love Luca for her, and they are perfect. I just wish we could have developed slightly deeper. Still it’s a cute easy series and I look forward to Jetta’s book which might not be as sunshiny as Reese’s book was.

Boy howdy, I thought that Addie’s book was funny. Raven Kennedy kicked the funny factor up a notch in this book! Raven always makes me laugh and is always original, but this book had me crying from laughter!!

Reese is an unusual shifter that has had a hard life. She is skittish and is honestly scared of people and for good reason. But once again the Pack Aberrant is there to welcome her into the fold with friendship and a misfit family. Reese meets Luca and is instantly infatuated 🥰, but she sure does have a funny way of showing it.

This story was perfect! I loved all the characters (well except Sid and Rick Dick), I loved the storyline, I thought this book was hilarious, I got my HEA, and did I mention it was hilarious! I am not going to spoil anything...not hinting at what the characters are because that’s the fun of these books, the shifters will reveal themselves when they are ready!

Do I recommend? YES!!!! A thousand times yes! You would be quackers to miss this!!! Will I continue to read? You better ducking believe it!!! Don’t miss out on this very original series and start reading today! You won’t be disappointed!

DNF - quit at 42%
Ok, I thought I might like this, but Reese being a rat for so much of the 42% I did read, with so much focus on stealing shiny objects or a man's underwear, for her nest, just got old. Then, when she finally is forced into shifting to her human body, she goes into the heat within an hour of shifting, that heat is just so extreme, it also kept going & going (over a week before she escapes as her rat), it's just not an enjoyable story to follow. At the point she escapes to try to find sexual help with her heat, I just couldn't handle anymore, she practically is forcing Luca to screw her (forcing him into a rut) so they are both mindless into sex at this point (doesn't matter who they are doing it with, as long as they are both in heat or rut & doing it). I can't get into that. I just couldn't read anymore. To top it off, there really wasn't much of a back story to hold my attention to this in order to ignore all the rat time & forced sex time.

At my age (approaching 60), life is way to short & my time is to important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

Not a fan.

The first book in this series caught my interest and was a good book to read. So I tried the second one. This second one is missing the depth of the first original story and spends too much time on the main character 's heat/sex blah scenes.
About 55 percent of the story seems to deal with heat/sex. I love a good sex scene as well as the next person, but come on, where is the Story? Main female character is supposed to actually work at something; what that is is never answered. She is supposed to fight train for eight weeks; does she even start? Just two examples of the missing depth in this book between characters.
Hopefully the third book, not out yet, has more going for it then continual sex scenes.

Funny, sexy and sweet, what more could you want?

-M/F
-Shifters
-possible triggers (captivity)
-steamy as hell
-standalone within a series

I have to say I’m really loving this Pack of Misfits! Each book is about a different couple. What I love about this ragtag shifter pack, is their loyalty. They all have heart wrenching back stories and even though that should make them not trust people, or fearful of others, they’ve found a pack that they can put their utter loyalty into. They would tare the world down to protect one of their own.

This book revolves around Reese and Luca. Reese is a pack rat who has been in captivity for a very long time, stuck in her rat form. She’s saved by our Pack of Misfits where she meets Luca. Of course, when she first arrives she’s scared to pieces and trusts no one, but her rat immediately forms a liking for Luca and it’s so cute watching his reactions to the cute little mousey. It’s also hilarious as hell reading about Reese in her rat form, her love of stealing shiny objects for her nest. This really was a fun, hilarious and sexy read with just enough angst. I love that we get to see Addie and her mates from book 1 and I can’t wait to read about the hard-hearted Jetta in the next book. Definitely worth the read.

Hit the spot

I’ve loved the misfits since day one, so I was very excited to read the second installment. It was definitely worth it. It hit the spot and gave me all the feels as typical with anything Raven writes. I adore Luca and his personality. He’s an easy book hottie to fall in love with. I was However surprised when we got to find out what animal he was! Very exciting. And I couldn’t picture Reese as any other animal. Raven has a special talent of bringing characters alive and giving you many ways to love them and most importantly remember them. I loved that Addie and her three hunks were back for some side love and I still love them so much. If you’re questioning whether to read this series... or any book from Raven, then let me help you out by saying just do it! You won’t regret it! She’s a wonderful author with amazing characters inside every book.

Cheese and crackers, this is an amazing book!

Much like the first book, this book has a pair of unlikely shifters from painful circumstances find joy in each other.

Honestly, I found this book very inspiring. Reese goes through something horrible but focuses on small things she can control and finds joy in small things to keep her going until she's safe again. I really fell in love with her strong character. Luca is a wonderful match for her, and once again there are hilarious, and deadly, situations for the misfits.

We got to explore a lot more about the misfits pack culture and get to know more pack members better. I'm very excited to see more of Jetta in the next book, as well as the unique animal cast surrounding her.

This one was just as much fun as the first book. While Reese's situation was horrible at the start, finding her place in the Misfit pack was the best thing for her. I really liked that they gave her time to come back to herself and then find her place in the pack. It wasn't long before Reese was in on the jokes and the butt of them.

The pull between Luca and Reese was great! I worried at first, but it ended up being ok, Luca wasn't being an ass, just trying not to take advantage of Reese.

I loved how everyone came to Reese's rescue at the end, how Reese really saw that she had a home now and one where Luca will always be.

I thought I couldn’t love Raven more...

I thought Raven outdid herself with her Cupidity series, I thought, “Wow, I don’t think she can top that masterpiece...” I was soooo wrong. I freaking loved Addie and her men, because hello, how is a duck shifter not hilarious in the best and most endearing way?!
I have been not-so-patiently waiting for more misfits since I first read Addie’s story and duck puns worthy of immortalized dad jokes. My waiting has paid off ten-fold!
I LOVE Reese and her little kleptomaniac animal. Her viewpoints while in animal form are the best and feel like the internal musings of a real animal, not just a shifter. She’s strong in a quiet and unassuming way. Something I can totally dig, since strength comes in many different forms. Plus, the jokes. Oh man, the jokes! The witty puns and mischievous ways of shifters. This world, Pack of Misfits, is so freaking awesome and makes me laugh so hard people nearby start to question my sanity while I’m reading within their vicinity.

Really fresh perspective, I loved seeing the world from Reese's shifter eyes (spoiler: shes a rat) and its interesting to see all the different shifter types. Hilarious.

Loved the whole stealing aspect, shiny things, and Lug Nut. Dildos for the heat. The shifter sloth that keeps falling asleep.

What a great world. My only drawback is the sex scenes- lots of steam but the dirty talk is... over the top? Just not quite my scene.

As always- Hugo has my heart and I am hoping for his story and HEA. Igor too :)
On to the next book!

I waited so long for this book, and I am so glad that it turned out so good! Raven Kennedy has a gift for creating feisty and quirky heroines that seem REAL. I loved Reese and her adorable animal. They've been through so much but they are not broken or bitter. They are fighters, survivors, and they fit right in among the misfits. I actually teared up several times because their story is heartbreaking. But I laughed much more! Reese's animal is as hilarious as she is cute! I was so glad that they found an awesome mate and got their happy end!

I cannot leave without mentioning the rest of Misfits. Most of them are quirky and funny, and each one of them is unique. Hugo is my personal favorite; he's a great man and an amazing alpha, and I really hope he'll find a loving mate.

I'm SO looking forward to reading the third book! This series is THE BEST!

I’m so in love with Reese it’s not even funny. She may be my favourite mischief character. Raven Kennedy sure has a way of making you laugh out loud multiple times with her storytelling and character interactions and she did not disappoint. In fact, she once again surpassed expectations. I love everything about the misfits and what they represent, but I think Reese has gained a special place in my heart. Her strength, though not of the usual kind you see around, and how she’s truly accepted who she is without apologies. She’s sweet, kind hearted and so in tune with her animal it’s honestly inspiring.
And her relationship with Lug Nut is hilariously heated and just so darg adorable it’ll give you a sweet tooth.
I can’t wait to read more about the misfits.

I liked this book a lot more than the first. Reese was just so much fun to read about and Luca was a great guy. Because of her situation, Reese was really quirky and fun.

There was never a moment where one was mean to the other, like with Addie. In fact, only the misunderstandings had any impact.

This book was just cute until Reese's old pack decided to rain on their love parade and intrude. But that didn't last long and Reese was a badass so it's all good. Also, was not expecting Luca's animal to be what it was. I had had theories what it was but what he turned out to be had not been one of my specific guesses, only broad.

So far, this one is my favorite of the series.
