Rate this book
When the Allies invaded Italy in 1943, a large number of Prisoners of War managed to escape from their prison camps and made their way to Rome. There a group of self-less people gave them refuge in the knowledge that they were risking their lives in doing so. Among the most courageous in this group was a Maltese widow, Mrs Henrietta Chevalier, who risked everything in order to help save the lives of others.
