I didn't meant to cross over into Faerie.  It was an accident.  And now... now I'm in jail.

Fairy jail.  It's a thing.

When I refused the attentions of a Seelie noble, I earned myself a one-way ticket to Siúcra, the most infamous prison in the Fae Queen's court.

I'm still reeling over the fact that the fae are real. That Faerie is a real place, and that there are real consequences to being a human surrounded by the amazingly gorgeous—if also amazingly heartless—creatures in this world.

Their cruelty doesn't stop after I'm captured. Turns out, I'm the only human in my wing of the prison. And, I find out pretty quickly, the only female.

Ah, crap.

Thank goodness for Rys. He might not be the friendliest cellmate, but so long as I don't ask him questions about why he's locked up, he's willing to watch my back. Know what? That totally works for me, especially since I can't seem to keep my eyes off of his.

I'm in jail. Falling for another prisoner should be the last thing on my mind. Then again, Rys is a Light Fae. A Seelie. He's one of them. Sure, he might be stuck here with me now, but he used to guard this place.  He knows the way out—he just doesn't want to leave.

He's got a past. One look at the ragged scar ruining his otherwise perfect fae features and even I can tell that he's not as innocent as he claims. But no matter how hard I try to get him to see things my way, he refuses to get involved.

Just like he refuses to admit that he can sense the crazy attraction brewing between us.

It started out as protection before it blossomed into something... more, whether he wants to pretend or not. And when he finally decides it's time for him to break free, I know I'll do whatever I have to to make sure that he takes me with him.

**Trapped is the first book in an exciting new Fae series by the author of Touched by the Fae. Featuring a directionally-challenged, mouthy human heroine, the scarred Light Fae who'd rather stay in jail, and their quest to save Faerie togetherwell, once they break out of Siúcra, that is.

It's also a steamy supernatural prison romance, with a bunch of profanity, an attempted sexual assault (don't worry, the guy gets what's coming to him!), and is fully intended for adult readers only.

Jessica and Rys did not feel like they had enough chemistry between them. The story was ok, nothing new as far as the world created in this book. The twist for me was the jail time and it just did not work for me. The reasons for being jailed for both MC are not fully developed and it seems a bit rash that they were in such a severe institution. I’m not sure I want to know more, I found myself skipping paragraphs and finding nothing amiss. A lot of descriptions and non sequitur.🥱

Pretty good!

So I'm not gonna lie when I started this I was a bit annoyed with the similarities to ACOTAR, but as the story progresses it doesn't continue. That being said the idea of the Far prison which feeds on the magic and emotions of its inmates, is such a neat and very fae ideal. Now on to Elle. I don't necessarily dislike her, but I don't really like her that well either. She seems a bit all over the place. She's meek and timid one minute, then challenging and nosey the next. Rys I connected with more and his story really isn't out yet. The only other thing is I wasn't surprised by anything that happened. I knew from the beginning what she'd give up to get out and what he would, so that makes it a bit disappointing. But. I did like the story itself and will finish the series. The author has a good way of drawing you in.

Beware what you wish… for it can turn into a nightmare…

„Trapped“ is the first full installment in Jessica Lynch’s “Imprisoned by the Fae” and starts right into the action as Elle is on her way to Siúcra, the Faerie prison, condemned after having rejected to the ‘touched’ by a Fae Lord. Touch of a humans provides the Fae with a source of power but must be given freely. Even when coerced and confronted with the choice between submission or going to prison, Elle still refuses, and ended up in Siúcra.

Elle is the only human in the facility and is held in an initially empty wing, however there is another prisoner in the wing, Rys, a handsome Seelie and former Siúcra watcher. The starting relationship between Elle and Rys can only be described as unfriendly bordering in hostile, but after a short period apart, they will have to reluctantly unite their forces against the watchers….. with unpredictable consequences.

Elle is a complex main character, a mix of pure childish naiveté, down-to-earth resourcefulness and resilience, who evolves through her vicissitudes in Faerie. A prequel, “Tricked”, tell the story of how exactly Elle ended up in Siúcra, and although is by not means necessary to read the prequel to understand the story, as all pertinent information is given by Elle herself at the beginning of “Trapped”, I would herewith recommend the prequel nevertheless, just because it is a great read and add another layer to the story.

Jessica Lynch Faerie is a carefully crafted fantasy world that spin broad spread fairy-tale assumptions, with more dark interpretations of the myth. Elle herself has been obsessed with fairy-tales’ misconceptions and half-truths since she was a little girl. It serves her ill sometimes (bringing her to Faerie in the first place) and very well at others (as she obstinately refuses to give her real name).

The book is a fast read with a good mixture of action and very well-done character descriptions. Elle is very relatable and shows a complex personality that contrast with Rys' guarded attitude and his secretive nature. The story is well paced, holding the interest of the reader until the very last sentence…. Which undoubtedly call for more… and the fast release of the second book. This is a series intended for mature readers as some Faerie aspects are not in the least your usual Fairy-tale content.

Human Elle (aka Helen) (FMC) is in Faerie by accident by going through a fairy circle and now shes in Siucre a faerie prison after refusing Lord Veron's advances. So its like out of the frying pan into the fire. A prison full of fae guards who are looking to get her to accept their touch and they literally own her. The only man she doesnt have to worry is her cellmate Rys. Hes not friendly or talkative to anyone including her. I really liked Elle and her internal convos made me laugh in places. I dont think ive seen enough of Rys to like him or not. Waiting to see how that pans out in future books and after that ending i cant wait to see how that goes. A pretty great read though and i enjoyed reading it

This book was fine but the pacing was really slow. Not much happens and it's a little boring. The ending did pique my interest though, I'm on the fence about continuing this series.

Let me start off by saying I didn’t finish this book. Why? Well I’ll tell you the good and the bad.

So I liked the premise of this book and how it started you right in the action of seeing the main character Elle being sent to prison. You didn’t have to wait or wonder why because the book tells you of her crimes right away. I also enjoyed how she was snarky and had wit to her character however sadly in my case, you realized you were stuck in the never-ending bore of hearing her repeat the same thoughts over and over again. It became annoying at times and I didn’t know if the author was filling in the book with these rambling repeating thoughts or what. The love interest and how fast it developed was weird in my opinion as well. It seemed like Elle was using this other prisoner for her own gain however it soon became an obsession with him because of her stint with the succumbus. The whole tryst was cringy because after all the lovey love, he had ended up “marking” her as his property. Total turn off and kinda blew up the whole rule of Elle’s “no fae will touch me” mentality. Also Jimmy was basically put on the back burner while she was trapped in faerie which i found kinda insulting. Like poor jimmy man. But the author will probably write something later on in the book that says Jimmy never looked for Elle or something to make it okay for her to basically cheat on him. That’s my guess, I could be wrong and have it go in the total opposite direction and it’ll turn into a love triangle. But any-who, I lost interest in the book mainly due to there being no goal whatsoever for the main character to achieve. Like I would expect her to escape or SOMETHING but nope she was just chillin the entire time. DNF’d. Glad it was on KU and didn’t spend money on it.

So much fun!

This book was a ton of fun! I don’t typically love fae books (I know, not a popular opinion these days) but I’d downloaded this one and finally got around to reading it. It was really great! A lot of fun, with an awesome mystery and story that kept me reading when I should’ve been working or sleeping 😆

At the beginning, the author warns that you should probably read the other books in another series first, and possibly the prequel, but I’m an annoying reader and ignored that 🙈 because I have something against prequels for absolutely no reason. Even though I ignored it, I still felt like I had a pretty decent understanding of the world and like I said, loved the book! I’ll definitely dive into the next one, and fingers crossed I keep loving the series!🤞

I definitely recommend book 1, but if you’re a cliffhanger hater, prepare yourself 😜

This is book one of the Imprisoned by the Fae series and follows on from the prequel, as Helen finds her accidental trip into Faerie has now left her imprisoned in a Fae prison! Ever since she found herself in Faerie, she has been tricked and then sold off at a slave auction, ending up in the hands of a Seelie Lord, who she refused to allow to touch her, as he wanted a lot more than that! Being human in Faerie would give a lot of power to a Fae, Seelie or Unseelie, if she gave them permission to touch her. Without her permission, then the Fae would be burnt. Her refusal to agree to his demands, led to him blackmailing her to either agree or he would get her sent to prison. She thought that prison would be a much better solution. Now she has been placed in Siucra, the infamous Fae prison. She is the only human prisoner there and only the second female, that is if you can count a succubus as a normal female.

She ends up in a completely separate wing of the prison, with only a traitor called Rys, as company. He is also a human lover according to the guards, who place her in a cell immediately opposite him. One thing she has learnt very quickly, was never to give her real name to anyone, so she goes by Elle, but Rys insists on calling her Leannann. Shame she never got told not to say thanks to a Fae. He’s gorgeous, as all Fae seem to be, but has a large scar down one side of his face, which he won’t tell her how he got, no matter how many times she asks. He isn’t very chatty, but does help her out occasionally, which makes her start to like him a bit. He is trying to protect her, in any way he can, possibly as penance for his past actions.

The guards continue to taunt both of them, moving her about to different cells and putting him in a place of shadows as punishment. As a Light Seelie Fae, being left in darkness saps his energy. One of the guards in particular, wants her to allow him to touch her, but she is disgusted by this. Luckily, she is given a weapon to use to defend herself and she ends up having to use it one night, when she is left alone and defenceless. The attraction Elle feels for Rys ends up becoming something more and they will have a serious decision to make soon. He will soon have to decide if it is time to break free or stay, be punished continually and watch Elle be beaten down. If he goes, then Elle wants to go with him and will do whatever she has to, to ensure he takes her with him.

Elle has a lot to contend with since she ended up in Faerie, as well as thoughts of her boyfriend back at home. A great first full book in the series, but I would recommend reading the prequel, Tricked, before reading this, to see how she ended up in the situation she finds herself now. It will give a lot more background to the events, which this book does also, but can’t do it as well as reading the prequel for yourself. The stories her mother used to tell her as a child, have suddenly become very real. The Fae queen is killed and this causes great upset in the prison community. Changes are coming and more danger will follow for both Elle and Rys. I can’t wait to read the next book, knowing how this one was left. This is an interesting series so far and I would recommend any who like a bit of Fae storylines, to read this series. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

At first I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. To be quite honest it had me completely confused at the beginning. Since I didn't read the prequel to the series.

This book didn't fall under my normal reading genre, but I found it to be very enjoyable. I'd like to thank Jessica for taking the time to write it. I just didn't care for the way it ended.

Cool premise and ideas, love the connection between Elle and Rys, love all the magical elements, and love the Fae setting. This was a fully entertaining story and I’m super excited to continue the story; I wish it was already out! I hope things work out the way I want them too. I didn’t read the prequel about how Elle found herself trapped in Faerie, sold to some jerk Fae, and now in a Fae prison for refusing his advances. The Fae in this book need permission to touch a human or they will be burned, but they try to use other tactics to get their way. Elle has to constantly worry about being forced to do things she doesn’t want to do from the Fae guards. Luckily, she meets Rys, who they offers her some protection; well, as much protection as another prisoner can offer. I’ve only read the prequel and book 1 of the Shadow series, but Rys wasn’t exactly a good guy Fae in that series. In this book, we get to read another side of him and find a bit of redemption. I see that he has changed, so I’m definitely rooting for him. Elle is wonderful too; she’s a strong, intelligent woman. Love her sass and clear minded thinking. The passion is sizzling between these two, and I love how their relationship evolves. This book has a cliffhanger, so you’ll definitely need to continue the series for the full story. Really looking forward to it!!

"Trapped" is an odd book - it has a story to tell but it is actually all about power and control.
Before I forget, the childish drawings of prison bars at the start of each chapter become seriously annoying.
Helen finds herself in a Faerie prison, there's a kinda explanation given but the author isn't particularly interested in going into it in any detail.
Within a short time she find herself in the same cell as the handsome but scarred Rys, former prison guard and current prisoner.
The gist of it is that Helen, as a human, can only be touched by a Fae if she gives her permission. There's a lot of guff about how that permission effectively ends in sexual slavery, but Helen ain't a gal to go down without fighting.
And Rys, bless his cotton socks, is not only an Adonis but also kind and caring - you can see where this is going.
And that is exactly where it goes!
Eventually it gets very convoluted and, to me at least, makes less and less sense.
It ends, unsatisfactorily, on a cliff-hanger.
2.5 Stars brought back to 2 Stars because it is a frustrating book. It seems to offer much but pulls back from it almost every time.

DNF about 53% through. I just couldn’t anymore. So basically human Helen (Elle) has a fight with her live in boyfriend and goes for a walk and ends up in Faerie. Somehow she is found, captured, and sold at a market to some noble Fae. She doesn’t allow him to touch her so to teach her a lesson, she is sent to prison, like where they put lifers. She’s cellies with Rys (really disliked the similarities with ACOTAR on that one and I love ACOTAR) and he is a former guard who is labeled a human lover. Turns out they end up having relations and he seems more into it than she is. She initially is just using him so this sleezeball guard won’t try to rape her cause that’s what he’s been trying to do for the first half of the book until she burned his face off (literally) with special fire Rys gave her. They end up in a cell together as “punishment” but we all know how that goes. Overall I didn’t finish because I felt the plot was progressing way too slow and it was so hard to remain interested.

Okay

If I would've paid attention to who the author was before I started this I honestly wouldn't have read it.

Don't get me wrong.. the books aren't bad and the stories aren't either, but they're just not my cup of tea.

I read another series of hers and while they were okay and kept me interested enough to continue them.. I wasn't even sure why that was.

I really am feeling the same way about this book, but I realize that it's mostly my fault because I just shouldn't have read it. If I didn't feel this way, I'd probably give it 2 stars because I won't read the next one and am not even interested in continuing it, like I kind of was with the other series.

The writing is decent. Some grammatical errors. It's a pretty fast read. It just doesn't interest me much, and I'm not a fan of the stories themselves.

She does have some different details or her own take on some fae aspects in her books and some people could love them, but I, personally, don't care for them.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it is the first book in the series.
Elle has accidently found herself in Faerie. She refused the attentions of a Seelie and she is now in a Faerie prison. She meets Rys who becomes her cellmate. He watches out for her, trying to keep her safe. He is a Light Fae in the prison but has no intention of ever leaving. The attraction between then grows and situations outside the prison begins to change, Rys decides to escape and take Elle with him.
I love this Faerie world that the author has created and the two brilliant main characters. This is definitely a book that hooks you from the beginning and you wont be able to put it down. There is plenty of action in this book and I love how the relationship between the two main characters grows and develops. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.

Elle, a human, accidentally crossed into Faerie and found herself in a ton of trouble. The Fae get some sort of power from human who accept their touch as long as the human freely allows it. But when she refused the touch of a Seelie noble, she was sent to Siúcra, a notorious prison.

At one point, she is put in a cell with Rys, not a pleasant Fae actually, but he did protect her from a guard who wanted her to accept his touch, at which point he would “own” her. Rys is a Light Fae, a Seelie. But he used to guard the prison and may know how to get out, only he doesn’t want to . . . YET. But when he does, she wants to be sure he takes her with him!

Grab your copy and let the story pull you right in. Elle and Rys are good characters I am comfortable cheering for. This is the start of their adventure, so don’t miss it!

Our heroine is trapped in Fairy, not exactly where she intended to be in the first place, let alone sent to Fairy prison. Getting back home is now the least of her worries.

This is book one of this urban fantasy series. There is a prequel story which provides the setup, but is not strictly necessary to your enjoyment of this story.

The story is well written, easy to read and just a bit twisted. The characters are well developed and vividly portrayed which helps to bring the story to life. I really liked our heroine and feel for all the stuff she is going through. She is also pretty smart and tough, showing quite a bit of spine with all that she encounters in the prison. I am definitely enjoying the way the story is building and look forward to the next book in the saga.

Highly recommended

You should definitely read the first book after the prequel, so if you haven't grabbed it, go for it.
There are a lot of spoilers for what happened to Helen to find herself in the Fairy World but you would really like it more if you start from the beginning.
After that intro, we then get this story were the action really starts, even though she is looked away in a prison.
Who would have guessed prison time could be so diverse. ;)
So, she meets Rys there, and you can guess what happens after... I can only tell you it's the how that happens that is really awesome. (By the way, this is a spin off serie from "Touched by the Fae", if you haven't read that I highly recommend as these events happen after and are strongly connected to that serie)
Anyway, this book ends with a fantastic cliffhanger, so I can't wait to start the next book.

It's a good story with long winded inner musings

This is a unique take on the prison romance theme. I really enjoyed most of the story, but I have to say, the inner musings are painful. I mean, they just go on forever! It's to the point where I picture Helen sitting there blank faced for 5 to 10 minutes at a time just listening to her own inner monologues in in the middle of a conversation.

Can you imagine people doing that in real life? I mean, just randomly getting sucked into their head and getting zombiefied by their own thoughts for 5 to 10 minutes at a time, and then just popping out of it only to pick back up on the original question as if nothing happened?

Anybody else think that's weird or is it just me?

Better than I expected!
“Trapped” is the beginning of Elle and Rhy’s story. This spin-off tale is well-written, original, exciting, steamy, and full of suspense, action, drama, and danger. It is the perfect beginning of their story in the Siucra Faerie Prison. The cliffhanger ending almost made me cry when I realized that Ella could not be with her soulmate. I am excited to read the next chapter in their story in “Escaped” Book 2!

I know I should have not expected more Action ,Magic , Questing...But I did and it wasn't there. So far this series as an Honest ARC reviewer has left me wanting ...All those things that make up a Fantasy novel..This is Not like her last series that Incorporated romance in a Fantasy novel , this is just Bleh ..all romance and introspection of the HUMAN female. It could have been a lot shorter and a lot better if the Romance was ore filtered and the Action more prevalent. I hope the 3rd installment doesn't continue in this way. This story line is actually an excellent one I think.

Getting to know Elle, I guess

I have not read any of the Touched by the Fae series prior to reading this. This was a weird take on most Fae books as it's setting was primarily a prison (obviously the title gives you that) and very little beyond that. Once I finished this I learned there was a prequel that explains how Elle got to Faerie and how she came to be at the prison. I don't know if it would have made a difference reading that first if I would have liked this story better? I wanted to like this more but it was just meh for me.

So I have discovered that really supernatural romance is not my thing. The set up and worlds were sort of cool, but really how much can you do when you only have 2-3 locations and most of it is in a jail cell. Unfortunately this means we spend a lot (ALOT) of time inside the heroine (Helen/ elle/leannan) mind. between each spoken sentence is paragraphs of mental gymnastics and explanations and trying to understand the mysterious mysteries of an alien (fae) culture. this is obviously a 3 parter- but i am not interested in what happens next.

I picked it up because the premise sounded interesting to me - a human woman trapped in a Fae prison for nonsense/arrogant Fae reasons who falls for a fellow prisoner.

I think I was hoping it'd be spicy? And it is not. Almost at all. Just very little spice.

The story was okay enough that I immediately picked up the next book in the series. There's some interesting worldbuilding here, but there's also a bit of handwaving some of what's going on. I hoped future books in the series provide the resolution that I wanted (spoilers: they do not.)

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. A human found her self in Faerie and being there with out any magic. The female human learned fast don't give the Fae your real name and don't eat anything from there. She found her self with Lord Veron and found out that he could not touch her if she did not want him to non of the Fae can. Now would be the time to get the book. I will be getting more from this author.

Really enjoyed this paranormal fae romance story, a great start to the series, well written, intriguing characters with brilliant chemistry and a fantastic storyline ending in an epic cliffhanger. Don't step into a fairy ring. If you do, you might find yourself at the mercy of all the magical creatures in Fairie. The characters in this book are really good and I enjoyed the story line. I thought it was original and things just kept happening that made me sit up and take notice. I would recommend this book.

This book is good but I enjoyed the 1st trilogy that the author wrote better I'll see what happens with the rest of the books in this series but so far I'm not gonna buy this series while I did buy the other It is worth reading though and it's free on kindle unlimited for now so if you get the chance read it you might like it more than I did

Wow!

I'm not 100% sure what I think of this book. "Elle" is in the Fae prison for saying No to a Seelie lord. Rys is her celibate and he is mysterious. In Faerie you have to watch what you say, what you eat, everything. The book kept me hooked, but it has a huge cliffhanger and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm mad I know that. LOL. The next book is out so I will keep going.
