Loved You Once is the first book in a brand new series by Claudia Burgoa, The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers. The Aldridge brothers are six brothers, all fathered by William Tower Aldridge, a man who made billions in business, and left a woman and child in about every city. The brothers are all very successful in their own ways, now, as adults, but are all resentful of one another and haven’t been together in twelve years, ever since the seventh brother, Carter, died. This is Hayes, the second to the oldest of the brothers, story, and the woman he left behind twelve years ago, Blaire. It is told in both of their point of views.

Hayes Aldridge is a sought after orthopedic surgeon in San Francisco. He’s thirty five years old. Without having known he was even sick, Hayes gets a call from his father’s lawyer informing him of his pending death, and that he is needed at his father’s home. He hasn’t seen him in years and there is no relationship with him. Hayes’ mother is the only woman his father actually married. And Carter was his full brother, until he lost him twelve years ago.

Hayes is informed that he and his five brothers and also his ex-girlfriend, Blaire, are all required to be present at the reading of his father’s will in Baker’s Creek, Oregon. It’s there they learn that in order to save the town from liquidation, since his father owned most of the little town, they will ALL be required to move to Baker’s Creek within thirty days and reside at the family home, a home in much need of repair, and run the businesses his father owned.

Blaire Wilson is thirty two years old and runs a non-profit that requires her to travel all over the world caring for children in need. Blaire has a complicated history with the Aldridge brothers, with Hayes and Carter. Hayes was her first everything, a love greater than life, until he left her and broke her heart. Seeing him brings back every single memory, both the good and bad.

“My Blaire. My stardust. My best everything.”

kissing

Seeing how his father died, alone, forces Hayes to re-evaluate his life. Now is his chance to make things right. To prove to Blaire that she was the love of his life, and to give him another chance. He can never make up for the wrongs of his past, but he can prove to her that she is his future.

“All I want is to kiss her forever. Become her oxygen. Beat at the rhythm of her heart. Fill her up and beg her to make me whole again.”

In this book we get to know all the brothers a little bit, even though the focus is on Hayes and Blaire. Their relationships are complicated but I love the hope that Hayes has to make everything right. And to make things right with Blaire. I have to admit that towards the end, things were pretty intense and I was flipping the pages to see what would happen next. The epilogue was perfect, the ending made me smile. Now I can’t wait for the next book, Henry’s story, in A Moment Like You.

“Only you make me believe.”

So I'm not the last word in romance or anything. I mean, I like the genre and read a lot of it. But it's a broad scope and has lots of nuance and is generally welcoming of lots of different kinds of stories. But for me, at least, romance is seeing two people falling in love and seeing how they'd build a life together. Which means that, for me, this book is not a romance. I don't know what else to call it. Maybe trainwreck?

Dr. Broody McBrooderson is a waste of skin. The first 20% of the book is establishing him as a closed off and vaguely entitled loner who has nobody but the mother he sometimes talks on the phone with. And we learn that he's still in love with the woman he dumped some twelve years ago. So he's closed off and the best I can hope for, literally, is that he isn't a giant pile of negative motivation* once he runs into his second chance. Not that there's much hope of that, really, because something has to draw this out another 80% and it's most likely going to be him getting over being a giant buttmunch. At any rate, I found him mostly off-putting and was hoping that Blaire would fill that gap when she showed up.

Waiting for chapters and chapters for her to show up didn't improve my mood. But then she does and she's the kind of unthinking idealist that mostly lives in novels that want to telegraph that their heroine is a good person. She's soooooo good that she spends all her resources (time and money) going to distant places and "doing good". Why she can't do that closer to home is left unsaid. Which is just as well because that kind of thing doesn't really work better close to home, it's just less exotic. So we have the exotic do-gooder returning to the fold, so to speak, and I'm all wondering if things will finally pick up.

They might pick up, I don't know. All I know is that we learn that she's still in love with the giant snot I've been barely tolerating for way too long. So remember how I'm saying this isn't a romance? Yeah, they're already in love. And literally all that stands in the way of being together is a conversation and some trust building exercises. Which won't take up 80% of anything, so I'm thinking there's a lot of thrash coming down the pike and I'd best be getting out of the water post haste.

One star. I'm sad I wasted as much time as I did, but I wanted to meet Blaire. I blame the author for putting her first section so far back and that makes me even more cranky now that I realize that the author was actively wasting my time...

* Negative Motivations: I kind of hate that the term "negative motivation" isn't widespread, yet. Since it isn't, I'm going to save off this little jag to append to my reviews that feature the term. Jennifer Crusie blogged about it a bit back (or, if that link doesn't work, here's a cache of the original) and it changed how I understand story. The problem with the term is that if you've never heard it before, you'd assume it meant motivations that are harmful or immoral. Not so. What it refers to is motivations not to do something. The thing is that many of us are motivated to not do things for a lot of different, perfectly valid and reasonable, reasons. The problem is that in a story motivations to not do things are a huge drag on the plot—particularly considering the fact that most negative motivations are overcome by the character simply deciding they don't care any more (or, rather, that they do care and are now motivated to do the thing). So not only do you have a counter to action but you also have a situation where to overcome it, all a character has to do is change their mind. Which means eventually, the reader is rooting for the character to get over him/herself already and do the thing we want them to do. Conflict drives story. Conflict between a reader and a main character drives readers away from story.

"I rub my chest, missing my heart. It’s been gone for years. Twelve years to be exact."
This was my first book by Claudia Burgoa. I do love billionaire brother books, and this is a second-chance romance, so... I needed to have it.

This series deals with the lives of the Aldridge brothers. They're all successful in their fields, from law, to music, to finance, to medicine, to sports and to... confidential... but they are so very different. And theirs is a complicated relationship - they all have the same father, but not the same mother, and there's a lot of animosity and hurt in their pasts.

"'This is not A Christmas Carol. Dad isn’t Marley, Blaire isn’t your ghost of the past, and we’re not your ghosts of the present. Life isn’t a story told by Dickens.'"
This is Hayes' (the second oldest brother) and Blaire's story.
Twelve years before, they had one of those love stories you only dream of... until Hayes left for college and left Blaire behind. Yes, this was a lifetime ago - he is now a renowned orthopedic surgeon and she has a non-profit foundation and travels the world trying to help other people.
He still thinks about her and what could have been, and so does she. But their lives have changed, and there's no reason for them to meet again in this great, big world we live in.
Except William Aldridge, Hayes' father, died, and he brings them together again, along with the other 5 brothers, for the reading of a will that will turn everyone's life upside down.

"He doesn’t know that I never thought I’d see the stars again like this."
When they meet again, it's like time stood still. But it hasn't. And now they need to get to know each other again, deal with the mistakes from the past, and turn their separate futures into one. It's tricky, there's resentment and enough guilt to go around, but they can make it.

At the same time, we get to know all the other brothers a bit, and they're all messed up in their own individual ways. I really want to read the other books to find out more about what happens to each of them.

"We were forged from the same star. We've loved each other since the beginning of everything."
Hayes and Blaire. I think theirs is a love that was always meant to be, and they needed a second chance at it, and at a life together. It's sweet to see how they get there, and that epilogue made it all perfect.

The main reason for my rating - 3.5 rounded up to 4 - is that I wish it had been more difficult. I know, it may not make sense, but this is what I feel. No spoilers - I understand why Hayes left, but I think it should've been dealt with in more detail, and Blaire should have given him a run for his money and made him grovel a bit. That would have been well deserved in my book!

Still... good book! Looking forward to reading the others!

4 Making It Work Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free-A Quick Review
Starting a series is a daunting task. Figuring out who all the characters are, their personalities, love interests, and the most important reason for it to be in the first place is just the tip of the iceberg. When authors get it right, things flow, our interest to follow all the characters introduced is there and our hearts are captured. Claudia Burgoa knows exactly how to do this successfully and her new series touches all the bases.

Loved You Once sets the stage for an epic 6 part series.
There are multiple brothers from one heartless man who cheated on all of their different mothers. Every single one of these men has a chip of some kind on their shoulders. Whether it is the feeling of abandonment or conflicts with the brothers, there is enough to mine for the series. Each man is successful in their field and money is no object.

The big conflict is their having to live in a small town for the next 18 months in order to collect the inheritance left to them as well as save the town. The father loved messing with them and did so even after death.

This entry combines a second chance love story along as setting up the premise. We fall hard for the couple and all the other men...with hints of their loves to come. I look forward to more.

A Heartwarming 2nd Chance Small-Town Romance With Facing Past, Surprises, Hilarious Twists, Heart-Wrecking Emotions, Intense Love, The Right Thing, Chances, Hope & HEA!
Mistakes & Misunderstandings Break'em but Fate (or more like his dad) brought'em Together again. I loved Blaire & Hayes! DEVOURED it in around 7hrs.
#My 1st by Claudia, totally Going for more😍.

NOTE: So I Binge read this series for the release of 'Call You Mine'. It was on my TBR & I finally got to read it! Its so much Fun, Totally Recommend it. It's VERY Enjoyable to read them in Sequence. All 4 books were So different from eachother & I loved each couple for their Uniqueness. I'm so excited for the Next 2 books of this series!

I noticed that each book (from the Heroine's PoV) gives us some info about the bros, so here is from Blaire:
"The Aldridge brothers are handsome, arrogant, and sinful.
Henry, the hotel mogul, is callous. Hayes, the doctor, is handsome, nerdy, and detached. Pierce, the lawyer, is an unrelenting know-it-all. Mills, the hockey player, is reckless. Vance, the former Delta Force member, is impulsive. Beacon, the heartthrob musician, is rebellious. Make sure to add as fuck to each of them.
"

So, William Aldridge had 7 kids, 5 out of Wedlock (He's a Fucker, hmm?). Hayes+Carter's mom was the wife. It was So Complicated when Every mom found out about the other, but some how the bros became sort of a family. But After Carter's death, who was like a glue to all the brothers, Relationships Fractured.

Hayes; Romantic, Stubborn, Nerdy (I loved how he popped up Facts!); Is an Orthopedic surgeon & 2nd Aldridge Brother.
Blaire; Calm, Sweet, Fiery; has a non-profit organization like doctors without borders. She'd been diagnosed with Leukemia in childhood but Now is Healthy.
From Thoughts & few Flashbacks, we found their past... The two met in College, Around that time she met all the Aldridges' too. Carter was her bestie & like a Brother, Hayes her 1st Everything & soulmate. But then it all Broke down Due to H's Fear. Then Misunderstandings hurted all & the gap grew. So much happened.

Now, 12yrs later, William's death have brought everyone together again AND Hayes sees it as his 2nd Chance with the love of his life he can't ever forget.
William Aldridge was a billionaire & his kids Are successful too, they hate the guy & don't want his money. BUT if they don't stay in Baker's Creek, William's Hometown, for 18 months, his 'Will' will basically destroy the town.

Blaire's all in to save the Town, she's good & so lovable! But will the Brothers stay? Is there anyother choice? (After searching hard, nope!)
As Truths are Found, Priorities change. Hayes leaves his San Francisco life to start a new one here. With Blaire. He's all in to Save the town. He Knows he screwed up, now Knows what actually happened with Her & Carter (that they married as after C's death, his trust money helped her Non-Profit) Hayes' matured & will grovel for her Forgiveness.

Blaire doesn't make it easy for him, He takes it Slow. They don't even have sex until the last few chapters but the Sexual Tension makes up for it! Their love's one of a kind & Soon he breaks her walls. But All Emotional issues have to be dealt with before they can start anew.

Blaire & Hayes progress Naturally, this book happens in the days before all guys move in for 18 months. Tbh, it was Hayes & Blaire's efforts that made it happen, Otherwise who Knew if they'd even come? Blaire's Forgiveness was such a big factor, I'm happy the younger Aldridges are protective of her! (Btw, Hayes & Blaire give great Speeches!)

The days were Filled with Tension, Mind blowing Facts & Surprises, Hope growing for Hayes & Blaire, Fear of the Unknown Future BUT A promise of a family the men never had. Few days to make sure of their businesses & Move here.
I was sure of Hayes+Blaire's Love, of their HEA. But the last few scenes were edgy not knowing if others'll come. Especially when the Moving date sneaked up Early *oh fuck*. But it all worked out *Yay!!*.
And the epilogue was so gorgeous😍. He Proposed & Hayes+Blaire are gonna have a baby❤.

We get intro to every brother here. It was lovely to see the dynamics & taunts before they move in. It's gonna be fun to see them all coexist for 18 months AND Small Town people are so nosy *Snicker*
(P.s. I'd started Sophia & Henry's book Immediately! It was fun to see them here.)

Damn ya’ll .. this was a good story.

I mean first of all … I don’t normally give plot points away of any kind but I have to tell you this one thing … so our leads, Hayes and Blaire, have history. Hence the second chance trope. But that’s not the thing I want to share. Here we go … when they were younger, they were together until he decided to move along and leave her, so she up and married one of his brothers who is now dead. Cue … a story set up I don’t think I’ve ever read before with a unique set of circumstances surrounding all the secondary characters. I mean how is that not a #win??? LOL

I haven’t read a whole lot by this author so I’m not sure exactly what her style or voice is, to be honest, but she made this story easy and likeable from beginning to end. I need ALL the siblings book’s yesterday!

This book introduces us to the Aldrich brothers; Henry, Hayes, Pierce, Mills, Carter, Vance, and Beacon. They all have William Aldrich as their father, but different mothers, except for Hayes and Carter. The boys grew up seeing each other a few times a year, usually at their father's house in Bakers Creek. They are all grown men now with distinguished careers, arrogant, and filthy rich

When William dies, all the brothers must come and live at the house in Bakers Creek for 18 months together with some other rigid stipulations. Blaire Wilson is also required to stay at the house. Hayes and Blaire have a lot of history and this book is their story. Theirs is an Enemies to Lovers - Second Chance Romance.

Hayes and Blaire have gone through a lot; terrible tragedy and loss, and have handled things in very different ways. One ran and the other faced them head on. Now, 12 years later, Hayes is a sexy orthopedic surgeon and Blaire is a devoted PA who travels around the world taking care of underprivileged children. But even after all this time, they still have that connection, that spark. As Hayes put it so eloquently, they were made out of the same star. Blair is his Stardust.

This is a fantastic start to The Bakers Creek Billionaire Brothers Series! These diverse brothers are so different and yet so similar it is uncanny. You need to buckle up and get ready for a fun and wild ride! If this book is any indication, there will be 5 more exciting books to come!! Bring them on!!

The Aldridge brothers are handsome. Alpha. Also passionate and absolutely chaotic together. We are introduced to them in Love You Once an engaging story about larger than life siblings.
Sometimes unforeseen circumstances can change the path of your life. For detached doctor Hayes Aldridge, it brings a chance for redemption, an opportunity to right the wrongs of choices long ago made. Hayes is open about past failures and his hurtful behavior toward his brothers and ex Blaire. He is also very clear with his intentions to atone for it . If he could face his past, could it also be his future? I loved seeing him discover his self worth and his determination to rebuild relationships and also win back Blaire. This book has it all - romance, a little humor, sexy banter and force of nature brothers. Highly recommend.

Hayes and Blaire hadn’t seen each other in 12 years. It took his dad passing away for them to see each other again only it wasn’t a coincidence. Blaire still held resentment towards Hayes but deep down they still loved each other. Not only did Blaire have to deal with Hayes but also his 5 brothers and they all had animosity towards each other. But 3 of the Aldridge brothers were very fond of Blaire and always liked her. The road to their second chance was slow and it wasn’t rushed. They had other things to worry about too. This story had done emotions, lots of banter and some very funny moments and exchanges amongst all of them. Throw in one of the brothers assistant and you’re in for a good time. It’s a great start to a series and you get a background on each brother and why the animosity. I enjoyed seeing them coming to some understanding but they still have a long road ahead of them. Hayes and Blaire were amazing and I enjoyed their epilogue but I know there’s more to them.

5* Sexy Nerd Stars

This is the first book in The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers Series and is about the very sexy, nerdy Dr Hayes Benjamin Aldrige and Blaire his long-lost love.

When Hayes and Blaire are reunited unexpectedly after 12 years apart without any contact their love for one another is still strong and undeniable. However, both are flawed and struggling to let go of their pasts and learning to open up their hearts to love and trust one another again is not proving to be easy. Added to this Hayes is reunited with his brothers after the sudden death of his estranged father. The only thing the Aldrige brothers have in common (besides them all being as sexy as hell) is that they had the same philandering father, there is no love lost between them.

As per the father’s last wishes they all have to live together in a very quaint little town called Baker’s Creek, under the same roof for 18 months and work together on the businesses or everything will be liquidated, and the town folk will suffer from it. As each one of the brothers is very successful in their chosen careers this is proving to be difficult and they are all so very obnoxious and stubborn towards each other.

This was such a fantastic story of taking chances, learning to open up your heart to family and loved ones, letting go of the past and the sins of the Father and taking a chance with what tomorrow brings.

The secondary characters in the book are very entertaining and real, I had some laugh out loud moments especially when Sophia was present and some angsty moments too.

I think this is some of Claudia’s finest work to date and I am so excited to read the rest of the Series, I only wish they were available right now as I am hungry for more.

An ARC was provided, and all opinions are my own.

Loved You Once (The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers #1) was a deliciously swoon worthy, refreshing, sweet and heartwarming second chance romance that I absolutely needed in my life right now. This charming and delightful book will pull you in deep and keep you blissfully entertained until the beautiful end.

Hayes is the first Aldridge brother to start off this series and what a perfect way to do so as Claudia Burgoa made it very easy to fall in love with him and Blaire. I couldn’t get enough of Hayes, the oh so sexy doctor and I envied Blaire with her down to earth persona, selfless, realistic and admirable character. Their story focuses on finding hope and dealing with the past in order to move on. Loved You Once’s plot was meaningful, the storyline flowed smoothly and was filled with a lot depth which was greatly appreciated considering the book also included all of the Aldridge brothers. And all that Aldridge hotness coupled with their alpha personalities was definitely a force to be reckoned with. I’m intrigued by the brothers and highly anticipating reading their books.

I love it when a book makes me smile big and makes me feel good inside and Loved You Once exceeded my expectations. The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers is my new favorite series and I can’t wait to read the next book, A Moment Like You.

Hayes and Blair have history, and it’s not all good. But when Hayes father forces him, his estranged brothers, and Blair to come to his hometown to live together, they’re all forced to face the past and deal with everything.

This was a great read, and I loved the Aldridge brothers and all the other characters brought to life in this new series. Definitely recommend!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Loved, loved this second chance romance story. The is the first book of the Baker’s Creek, Oregon, Billionaire Brothers series about half-brothers—this is brother Hayes and Blair’s story. This is a story about love. This is a story about forgiveness, trust and healing. This story is about a slow-burn romance. It was outstanding; it was such a great read! It is fun, witty banter, lots of steamy romance and moments of heartbreak, but you won’t be able to put it down. Sit back and be ready for a crazy ride. I found myself swooning over the handsome, sexy, alpha Aldrich brothers—Henry, Hayes, Pierce, Mills, Vance, Beacon, and Carter who are billionaires that were put into a dreadful situation by their deceased father, William Aldrich. Hayes and his brother Carter (deceased) were from his father’s marriage. Although all the brothers saw each other once/twice per year, it wasn’t something they were crazy about. Their father was a cold-hearted a-hole who fathered five sons outside his marriage and did not give them any love. Dr. Hayes Aldrich and Blaire Wilson were sweethearts in college. After being separated for 12 years, they are brought back together by unfortunate circumstances beyond their control—death of William Aldrich. It is fortuitous that everyone has to live in the Aldrich house in Baker’s Creek, including Hayes and Blaire. Hayes still have feelings for Blaire after 12 years—he realizes that leaving her was a mistake, and he is longing to let himself love Blaire once more, but not wanting to get hurt again. Now, Hayes will win her over and he won’t take no for an answer. Blaire is a strong independent woman, who has survived cancer, the jungle, and the plague. Hayes was her first love, first kiss, and her late husband’s brother. Can Blaire survive being around Hayes again? Their chemistry leaps off the page. They are combustible. Everything about Blaire and Hayes was wrong, but none of that mattered until they are reminded about the devastating death of Carter, who Blaire married, turns her idyllic life upside down. Find out what happens with Hayes and Blaire. Claudia Burgoa’s books will be salacious with an engrossing love story, interesting plots and dialogues with strong conflicts, artfully developed main characters, and they will keep you reading to the end to find out what happened—they will pique your interest and drawn you in. Claudia has a lyrical way of writing, capturing the beauty and intensity of each moment. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

"My Star. My heart. My love."

We have the very first installment in The Baker's Creek Billionaire Brothers series and boy does it ever set the tone for what's to come with the rest of the sexy brothers.

Hayes and his brothers are all the products of a philandering, cheating father. They are most definitely one big dysfunctional family and now dear ol' Dad has screwed them over ever in death. They must all move to Baker's Creek and live together for eighteen months. This also includes Hayes' ex Blaire and they must do it in order to save the town.

Blaire has been through a lot in her life and survived, but getting over Hayes Aldridge was the hardest thing she ever had to do. Now she's expected to live with him.

"I need to put some distance between us, because my heart is just like every other muscle, it remembers Hayes, and if I'm not careful, it'll remember how to love him."

He has no problem telling her that letting her go was the biggest mistake of his life and he'll do whatever it takes to win her back. They say actions speak louder than words and he's going to prove to her that she can trust him again. But trust is a hard thing to give once it's been lost and she just doesn't know if they can ever get back what they had.

"This is my chance to get to know the woman she's become. The opportunity to make her fall in love with me again. To remind her that we're soulmates. We were forged from the same star."

Throw in the fact that she has to live with all the brooding Aldridge brothers and she doesn't know if she'll make it out alive.

Loved You Once hit all the right spots for a fantastic second chance, small town romance and just go ahead and sign me up for the rest of the brothers ;)

When regrets of the past affect the future for more than himself Hayes just might get the second chance he needs to prove he’s better than the man who fathered him!

Hayes finds himself not only face to face with the only woman he’s ever loved but he also has to find a way to bring his brothers together to save a small town! Their father sticks it to them all one last time and now old wounds are reopened and everyone has to decide if they can handle the terms!

Blaire has never stopped loving Hayes but the hurt he left behind when he walked away is a pain she has carried for years! She’s not the girl he fell in love with all those years ago but one look and she knows she has to guard her heart! Hayes will stop at nothing though to show her he can love her like she deserves and give her his all!

The hole in Hayes heart that he has filled with countless hours at work can only be healed by Blaire! He has never stopped missing her and now he has one last chance to show her he is a better man! As the pressure builds to save the small town that holds bad memories Hayes not only has to prove to Blaire but also to himself that he is enough and he is a better man!

The Aldridge brothers are definitely a wild bunch and a brooding mess of men but underneath all their flashy armory they have hearts of gold! I can’t wait to get to know each brother more in future books and this is the start of a beautiful series that you don’t want to miss out on!

What a dysfunctional family. It will take some time to straighten everything. Six step-brothers . Different mothers and one father. The broken hearts, a lot of blame and unresolved issues.
This is first book in the series and I guess is standalone, for now.
Hayes, the legitimate son and second older. Blaire, love of his life.
When senior Aldridge passed away without family by his side his will shocked everybody . He will pass his billions dollar fortune to his sons if they fulfil his wishes. If they don’t all money will go to charities, factories will be close and people will loose their jobs. The animosity has to be put aside, resentments resolved and brothers may have each other, as the brothers do.
This book is also relationship between Hayes and Blaire. This is their second chance . Will they forgive each other? Great storyline, characters with a lot of chemistry. Looks like everyone is hot headed. Will they buried the hatches?
Enjoy reading, I definitely recommended this book.

Very good start to a series. In this story, Blair and Hayes were college sweethearts that were thrown back together after 12 years apart. Their chemistry was amazing. But, there were lots of interesting characters. Can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Attention... we have a band of brothers and they are an alpha overload! Loved you Once is the first book in the Baker's Creek Billionaire Brother's series. I hope that you are ready for them because they have certainly arrived.
We are introduced to this diverse group of brothers that may share a father but that is where the ties end. They have been out of touch with one another for 12 years since the loss of their youngest sibling. The death of their titan of a father has now thrown them back together. Hayes the physician of the family is the first on the scene and has done his best to alert everyone. They are now front and center for the reading of the will but that is just the beginning !
They have each become successful on their own accord and have their own means to continue on with their lives but they soon discover the terms of the will may be more than they could walk away from right now . We come to know each one of these brothers and their total badass personalities but we have one person that this dysfunctional family was not expecting at their reunion....Blair.
Blair and Hayes had found true love at a young age but Hayes took it upon himself to leave as he never believed he was deserving of Blair or her devotion. He has never gotten over the loved that they shared and he now hopes that he can win her back ! I hope that you are ready to get to know this phenomenal group of men because they are ready to share their world !

This brand new series by Claudia Burgoa will have you intrigued if not falling in love with each of the Aldridge brothers. Hayes, the oldest kicks off the series. Blaire is a strong heroine and I absolutely adore her. She’s quirky to Hayes’s nerdiness. The pair have stolen my heart. This book will have you all up in your feels. Loved You Once is the great start to what will be an amazing small town series starring the Aldridge brother’s. This second chance romance is one not to be missed!

Claudia Burgoa's phenomenal writing never fails to express the most delicious, heartaching, heartbreaking and intense emotions perfectly. Also her words never miss the target. And that is my heart. Loved You Once was a gripping and mesmerising tale of second chance and new beginning. And I fell in love instantly, hopelessly and easily.

Alridge brothers ( technically half brothers) have few similarities. A billionaire father who was always absent and never loyal to their moms. Twisted bringing ups. And as a result they are all permanently damaged somehow irrespective of their success and riches. Now after death of William Alridge, his will has forced all of them to come to Baker's Creek, the small town their ancestors founded. Hayes Alridge, the famous Orthopaedic Surgeon and the eldest brother has suffered the most by their father's cruelty and neglect. But now he has to take the lead to unite them to save the town by completing the insane task William has given in his will. Even if it means facing his first love, worst mistake and his little brother Carter's widow Blaire.

Someone please stop the bleeding from the gaping wound my poor chest. My heart does not exist anymore. The heartache burnt so good and I didn't want the torture to end. Hayes and Blaire were soulmates but Hayes hurt her irrevocably and she doesn't know if she can forgive the person who broke her beyond repair. But legendary love stories don't die so easily. Hayes has reduced himself to this emotionally unavailable person who cannot forget his love, who cannot forgive himself and who is still unsure about future. My heart aches for this lost man. But Blaire brought colour to his heart and that transformation is awe inspiring. He becomes this stubborn, determined, cunningly charming, alpha possessive and swoonworthy man. And he owns my heart.

Blaire's marriage to Carter has bigger secrets and later she dedicated her life to caring underprivileged kids all over the world. Blaire is my brave warrior. She is so incredibly fierce. She could have been destroyed by her pain and the physical challenges. But she rose above everything and spread love rather than bitterness. I love every bit of her loving, caring, sassy, sweet and compassionate heart. They have a truly magical chemistry. Every time they came together, sparks fly everywhere. They filled the void of years and became true partners. It was not an easy journey to overcome ages of sufferings, anger, guilt, mistrust and longing. But they have this unique connection that goes above and beyond everything. But it's not over in Baker's Creek and I cannot wait to get back to life of Alridge brothers!

Loved You Once by Claudia Burgoa once again proves why she is one of my most favourite romance writers ever. She turns the most simple story to the most remarkable read. All the soul deep and incredible feels for Hayes and Blaire!

This looks like the start of a brand new series from Claudia Burgoa, so Loved You Once is the place to begin! This story opens with Hayes Aldridge, a successful man, looking back at his life as one half of a young couple in love, parted under angry circumstances 12 years prior and haven't shared a kind word since. How he still regrets leaving her even now.

Unexpectedly, here they are again- Blaire Wilson, our spunky, independent leading lady and Hayes Aldridge, the hunky doctor who made her heart break long so ago, now forced back into the same zip code as an unusual request from beyond the grave has more than just them shaking their heads. Love a slow burn, second chance romance? Hoping for a few rekindled sparks along the way? Wondering what has everyone's boxers in a knot? Could these former soulmates find civility as Hayes' departed father's wishes push the limits in all the concerned parties lives?

The phrase 'brother from another mother' takes on a whole new meaning as Hayes, his 5 half brothers and the widow of another, try to abide by the insane and stringent rules of the last will and testament of William, the father they all shared but are possibly hating at this particular moment!

This new story sets the scene for future books in this series, exploring the diverse personalities of these eligible, sexy, take charge Aldridge brothers. They're all successful in their chosen fields, but have lived very different lives- with their own mothers, in different cities across the country disconnected, untrusting of one another and feeling neglected, all because of one man's selfish actions.

That man is still stirring the pot, even in death. What is in store for the Aldridge men as they try to complete this impossible request? Will Hayes and Blaire find their happy ending in Bakers Creek? Will anyone???

An early, complimentary copy was generously provided in exchange for my honest review.

Once is Only the Beginning

Loved You Once is a beautiful second chance love story. It is filled with flashbacks to first love and of burgeoning, brotherly bonds. Both relationships are shattered and only a tragedy leads them back to one another.

Ms. Burgoa does a wonderful job of building backstory that will help to catapult this series forward, while simultaneously spotlighting the love between Hayes and Blaire. Their relationship was severed, but their hearts never let go. This is a story about learning to forgive, let go of the past, and have faith in love. I was fully invested in Hayes's redemption and Blaire's capacity for compassion. The story also had a bit of suspense that had me anxious to see how the Aldridge brothers would fulfill the terms of their father's will.

I loved every vulnerable, tense, and truthful moment in this story. They resulted in an intense investment in the fate of Baker’s Creek and this complex family. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

There is no denying the professional success that Hayes has enjoyed as a surgeon, but his personal life is another matter. When he finds out that the father he has distanced himself from has passed way he and his five other brothers are called home where he finds out the dire plan his father has for the town. It not only requires they he and his brother must reside in the family estate but the same is also required of the only woman he has ever loved who is also his brother’s widow.

Blaire is a woman with a huge heart who has endured so much in her life. She has loved and lost and now puts all her energy in ensuring the well being of others. She and Hayes were college sweethearts until he broke her heart when he left to pursue his career without her so will abide by the terms of the will but she isn’t about to let him into her heart or her life for a second time.

Hayes is determined to show Blaire that ending their relationship was the biggest mistake of his life and all he wants is a second chance to show her that she can trust him and along the way he may find the family he never had.

Loved You Once is the first in the brand new The Bakers Creek Billionaire Brothers series by Claudia Burgoa. And boy are we off to one hell of a series!!!

When a family of half-brothers are brought back together by the one man they all hated (their dad) it's all hell breaks loose. These brothers really don't like one another, but are thrown together after the death of their father.

Blaire and Hayes story was brilliantly written. I'm a sucker for a second Chance at love story. And man Mrs Burgoa knows how to write them!!! From the start I was captivated by this storyline. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I will say this book is a must read. I'm sooooo excited for more of this series!!

Hayes' empty but successful life as a renown orthopedic surgeon in the Bay is about to change thanks to a phone call informing him his father is on his death bed. This is the seriously wealthy, but completely unbearable father that none of his many children has fond feelings for. But when Hayes heads back to Baker's Creek, it's not really his estranged father on his mind, no, it's the girl who got away, his sister-in-law. But Blaire was his first. Before she married Carter, his brother. The brother he loved and lost when Carter passed all those years ago. Dang!

What can I say about this one? First thing that comes to mind is that I adore Blaire. She's got a huge heart, a huge capacity for forgiveness, and she gives all of herself to people who need her, even to the extent of putting herself dead last. Hayes on the other hand, I did not like. Yes, he was in a bad position when he lost his brother, but what he did to Blaire after is pretty unforgivable and he's lucky she's far more forgiving than he deserved. If it had been me in her place, he'd still be my former brother-in-law and the ex whom I would speak to only when absolutely necessary.

Still, I liked this story and the rest of the Aldridge brothers and the women who will bring them to their knees. I can already tell they are gonna be verrrry interesting!

Loved You Once is the first book in the Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series. The author did a wonderful job of setting the scene for the series without losing my interest in the main couple that this book focuses on.

“We think that we have time, that love is everywhere, that happiness will be waiting just around the corner, that everything will come together once we become adults.”

Hayes and Blaire were young lovers once, but Hayes threw away any chance they had for a happiness when he put his future ahead of everything. Now they are forced together again to save Baker’s Creek.

“We have to discuss the past in order to move forward...”

I loved this first in a series, second chance romance and I can’t wait to read the next book.
