This book, Perfect Match, is a compelling medical thriller by Dennis Ross that keeps the readers, including myself, glued to the book until the very end. It was a book that I found easy to read. The start was extraordinarily gripping, and it inspired a curiosity in me that kept me reading the book till the end.

The book starts with a brief glimpse into Rosa Seratino's life. It all started with a one-night stand, and the drama began. Rosa is Nick's mother, the main character, who ends up in an unfortunate event of chronic kidney failure. His father, Emilino, is a go-get-it kind of man. He never took no for an answer and always had a way of dealing with each issue he faced. He was willing to pull whatever string was needed if it got him what he wanted. Nick ends up with kidney failure, and unfortunately, none of his family members are eligible to donate to him. What happens to Nick now? Does he find the perfect match kidney for himself? What is the outcome of the one-night stand Rosa had, and how does it all connect to the story? Find out by reading Perfect Match by Dennis Ross.

I have always been a fan of medical storylines, and this book was an exceptional read. I loved that we did not have random medical terms thrown at us throughout the book. While we were introduced to some words that may be unfamiliar, we also had a clear and concise explanation of what was being talked about. I feel a lot wiser having read this book. I got to understand the struggles of the people that are faced with this unfortunate situation. I could feel the pain and struggles that come with having kidney failure through the characters. The book was exceptionally edited, and I had absolutely no dislikes for the book. The book's length was an added benefit because it was not too long to bore me out or too short to understand. I give this book a perfect rating of five out of five stars.

A gift from my brother, who knows I like mysteries, and works at the same hospital as the author, an M.D. Day off, and I forced myself to finish it. A paper-thin mystery, clearly a vehicle to teach about kidney failure and transplants and overly medical. "Write what you know about" was poor advice in this case. Needed a professional editor.

The dread of discovering that your body is betraying you tends to leave you with more questions than answers. No one wants to wake up sick to their stomach out of nowhere and end up scheduling a doctor visit, only to then hear some upsetting news.

When young Nick, the son of Emilio Seratino, found out he was more ill than he thought, you instantly felt how heart-crushing the news was to receive. Nineteen-year-old Nick is suffering from a condition discovered from a minor car accident. Now, he must be on dialysis treatment before being added to the transplant list. As if the news couldn’t get any worse, the discussion of a perfectly matched donor has come up and the odds are not working in Seratino’s favor. Nick tries his best to create a sense of normalcy in his life. From attending classes, eating according to a restrictive diet, and taking treatments a few times a week, he seems to be managing quite well. The Seratinos are doing their best to help Nick while ensuring they remain hopeful for his future. Experiencing life through different lenses has allowed Nick a new appreciation for life and he’s become serious with his intentions. But something shocking is happening at the treatment center. The deaths of a few patients seem irregular. Could it be foul play?

The Perfect Match is a riveting medical thriller that grounds the story using accurate medical terminology. All the medical jargon feels real but understandable, and because of this sense of authenticity when patients start mysteriously dying it feels all the more real, terrifying and intriguing because of it.

This is a suspenseful crime fiction story that is as edifying as it is entertaining. The author’s knowledge of medicine is clearly seen throughout the story and I felt like I walked away from this book smarter. Readers will learn how important it is to have proper matching, especially where organs and possible transplants are involved.

The story slowly builds its characters so that we get to understand the emotional impact of kidney failure and how it affects everyone. The emotional weight is felt throughout the story and readers will empathize with Nick, even if they cannot relate. The Perfect Match showcases the hardships of dialysis and renal disease and inserts a compelling crime thriller in the middle of it.

I recently read a captivating medical novel titled "The Perfect Match" that delves into the intricate world of organ transplant surgeries. The story follows the journey of Nick, who experiences a sudden onset of kidney failure. The author skillfully explores the ethical and emotional complexities inherent in transplant medicine through these characters' experiences.

In the novel, Nick's life is unexpectedly disrupted by the news of his kidney failure, plunging him into a world of uncertainty and fear. As he grapples with the harsh reality of potential long-term dialysis, he witnesses the tragic passing of fellow patients, which only intensifies his anxieties. Nick's sister, Selena, makes a compelling attempt to uncover the truth behind these unexplained deaths, ultimately revealing disturbing deceit and corruption within the medical community.

The poignant portrayal of the family's journey from despair to acceptance adds emotional depth to the story, making it a truly engaging read. The author's adept handling of the relatable fears and desires of individuals confronting life-and-death situations is particularly commendable.

Moreover, "The Perfect Match" seamlessly weaves suspenseful crime fiction elements into its narrative, making it both enlightening and entertaining. The author's thorough knowledge of medicine shines through the story, leaving me with a sense of having gained valuable insights. The book masterfully highlights the critical importance of proper organ matching in transplant procedures, offering readers a deeper understanding of this aspect of medical practice.

I thoroughly enjoyed this well-written novel, which expertly establishes suspense from the prologue onward. Despite its medical focus, the book's language and terminology are approachable and relatable, further enhancing its accessibility. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend "The Perfect Match" and would easily award it a five-star rating.

"The Perfect Match" by Dennis Ross is a gripping medical thriller that delves into the emotional and ethical issues of chronic kidney diseases, dialysis, and the complex procedure of kidney transplantation. The novel expertly weaves together many plotlines, presenting readers with well-developed characters and situational conflicts that increase with each new chapter. The story revolves around the medical experts, patients, and their families as they traverse a maze of medical decisions, personal problems, and intertwined storylines.

One of the most notable characteristics of "The Perfect Match" is its extensive character development and engaging narratives that keep the reader engaged. Dr. Siller is a very intriguing character for me. As the leader of a medical institution, his layers are revealed as he faces professional problems and personal dilemmas. His interactions with patients and coworkers demonstrate a high level of empathy and devotion, highlighting the tremendous duties that medical professionals face. The Seratino family's problems with organ donation and transplanting were another part of the story that really caught my attention. The emotional depth of this story comes from how the family goes from hopelessness to acceptance. The author does an exceptional job of portraying the relatable fears and desires of those who find themselves in life-and-death situations.

However, one obvious problem in this book is the pacing in certain parts, especially in the middle chapters, which felt somewhat sluggish. The in-depth medical details and moral arguments are necessary and interesting for the story, but they sometimes slow things down. Overall, the book is an excellent choice for anyone interested in medical dramas, ethical challenges, and human stories of resilience and hope.

In Dennis Ross's novel 'The Perfect Match,' we meet Mickey, who becomes embroiled in a life-altering accident. He sustains head injuries and a spleen rupture, and his condition is precarious. Despite his stability, he slips into a coma, causing alarm as he adamantly refuses to awaken. The medical team, faced with a critical decision, suggests that Mickey can no longer be sustained on oxygen. However, Mickey's mother clings to hope, believing that her son can still be revived. In a moment of profound choice, Mickey's mother decides to proceed with organ donation, signing the necessary contract.

Simultaneously, we encounter Nick, another central character. Nick's life takes a sudden turn when he is rushed to the hospital after an accident. The diagnosis is devastating: kidney failure. As a young child, Nick grapples with the harsh reality that he may spend the rest of his days on dialysis. Each passing day brings new challenges, and Nick witnesses the deaths of two fellow dialysis patients, intensifying his fear. Yet, a glimmer of hope emerges—an opportunity for an organ transplant, a chance to find a kidney match for Nick.

The central question lingers: Will Nick eventually discover the perfect match? Will he survive this harrowing journey? Ross's poignant portrayal of kidney failure sheds light on the resilience of those affected and the selflessness of organ donors. Through Mickey and Nick's intertwined stories, we gain insight into the complexities of life, love, and sacrifice.

It is incredible how much a parent can do to save a child's life. The story starts with 19-year-old Nick, who is going through a life-threatening illness due to the effects of an accident. Nick begins to undergo dialysis as a result of a failing kidney and has to undergo an organ transplant. With time running out on Nick's side, his mother decides to donate her organ as she is willing to do whatever it takes to save her child. Not everything is as it seems, as Nick's father is acquainted with some gang members, and as if that is not enough trouble, mysterious deaths begin to take place in the hospital as patients on top of the organ transplant list start to die. There is so much going on in the background, and it's hard to know if Nick ever gets the organ transplant. It also begs the question: is the hospital involved in the recent deaths?

There is so much I love about the book, which includes the unique plot, the story's pacing, and the author's ability to project the characters' emotions as I felt it myself. I also appreciate how detailed the author explained the treatment while they were undergoing treatment. The book is well-edited, and I did not spot any errors while I read it.

There is nothing that I dislike about this book, as it is beautiful all around. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I will also recommend it to people who love stories about family and the medical industry.

This book is a very well-written medical thriller that focusses on the Seratino family. The book takes off by first providing a glimpse into Rosa Seratino’s life eighteen years prior, where she has a one-night stand with a young doctor despite being married to Emilio Seratino, a man who never takes no for an answer and always finds a way to get what he wants. Years later, Nick Seratino is introduced to the picture as the son of the Seratinos. Following his admission to Providence University, he is involved in an accident with his sister Teresa, which leads to the revelation that he has kidney failure. Now that a transplant is desperately needed with a long waiting list, will Emilio Seratino get what he wants as always by using his own methods again? What actually is the outcome of Rosa’s one-night stand eighteen years ago?

This book was confusing for me at first with the introduction of different new characters, some of whom died immediately, but I got used to it fast, and everything else was fine. Emilio Seratino’s cruel ways are definitely intriguing. He is a man who does not take no for an answer, regardless of who it is, even when it has to do with his son's admission to Providence University.

I have no other criticism aside from the confusion at the beginning, and this only did so little to affect my rating. I will recommend the book to lovers of thrillers or medical thrillers.

In "The Perfect Match" by Dennis Ross, the description of the event of the accident and the emergency response following the same is very dramatic and to the point.

The novel is rather a very smart strategy by the author to make the audiences imagine even the sound of screeching tires and feel the cold wind blowing while Mickeys sad story of doomed life is narrated.

The author is very specific and uses good imagery that enables the reader to come up with a picture of an event that is taking place.

The most satisfactory from the point of view of the plot is the moment when Nick understands that the man whose life he undermined is now his superior.

Also, it is a very well-written scene; the pacing and the jagged abrasiveness of the verbal exchanges are realistically portrayed here, both the hesitance and ill-concealed aggression from a confrontation that has been brewing for some time.

The dialogue is quite strong and comes off as realistic, which contributes a lot to the characters and the intensity that is depicted in some of the scenes.

As for the audience, "The Perfect Match" would be interesting for everyone who enjoys mystery, thrillers, and suspense. Its particularly ideal for those who like to watch cloned films with interwoven plots and relationships with a strong focus on action and thrill. So readers should consider adding it to their reading lists.

"The Perfect Match" by Dennis Ross is a brilliant novel that does not allow the reader to relax and turn a blind eye to what is going on in it from the very beginning. The novel opens with a thrilling prologue that gives the reader a glimpse into the fabulous world where the high society intermingle with the danger.

One of the things that are most appealing in the novel is the character of Selena Seratino. She is clever and strong, and you would like to follow her and support her while she struggles to save her brother and comprehend reality.

The author has a way of explaining things that even I could understand, and these include very technical things like medicine.

The medical parts are described in plain and simple English, and there is certainly no attempt made to bore the reader with comprehensive medical terms.

The layout of the sentences is also uniform right from the beginning of the novel, and this does not in any way interrupt the flow of the text on the page.

Such a formatting is also helpful in maintaining the suspenseful and professional tone of the novel, thereby keeping the audience’s attention on the development of the mystery.

This novel is perfect for readers who love to read thriller novels with good and developed characters plus glamour. Readers interested in mystery and crime novels and those who enjoy stories that show the best and the worst sides of the world will definitely have a good time with "The Perfect Match".

A medical who-done-it that keeps you guessing

This book was recommended to me by the author, who is the nephrologist who monitors my health in my dialysis unit. I am also a medical doctor who went into renal failure three years ago and has been going to dialysis three days per week for the last three years. As such, I already understood the dialysis process and the selection criteria for getting a transplant. In spite of this I found the story very entertaining with several potential suspects that kept me guessing until the end. It is a fast read that doesn't get bogged down with complex medical jargon so the average reader has nothing to fear. In the end, people who know nothing about the emotional and physical challenges of those in kidney failure will have a good understanding of what they are going through. A good book that educates while it entertains. And that is the best of both worlds!

Dr. Ross has been our trusted nephrologist for three decades and he has written this book so anybody can understand what goes on in the world of dialysis. I could see our personal story in almost every character in the book. Everybody should read to understand more about organ failure and add a little mystery in while they enjoy the book. GREAT BOOK!!!
