Woodland Pack #1

Growl's Queen

Rate this book
Known as the “Growling Wolf CEO”, Angelo Marconi is Alpha of the Woodland Pack, and the epitome of that title. But when this Alpha meets his mate and danger surrounds her, he will learn what happens when an alpha truly meets his match.

Angelo “Growl” Marconi is known as The Growling Wolf CEO because of his viciousness in handling his rivals in the business world and the way he had a tendency to growl when he was annoyed or turned on (something his lovers found extremely arousing). “He stalks them, pounces, and rips out their throats,” is a statement synonymous with the gorgeous half Italian, half Cree Indigenous man. However, most of his associates, friends, haters, and lovers would be surprised to know exactly how close they are to his true identity with his infamous moniker. Because, Angelo “Growl” Marconi actually is a wolf. A wolf shifter to be exact. And even with his long lifespan he has focused on his business, his younger brothers, and his pack. Nothing else.
That all changes the day that Joi Young marches into his office building. Joi is a creative, talented, independent, snarky, full-figured, brown-skinned beauty and Angelo’s mate. Knowing she belongs to him does something to Growl and he’s determined to claim her, bond with her, and possess every inch of her. Just the way the spirits intended. However, Joi has other ideas. She already escaped one demanding and controlling man and has no plans to return to the same type of relationship again. No matter how hot the sex is.
But Angelo refuses to take no for an answer. They belong together, and he’s determined to show that to her. But when Growl’s secret business dealings, his secret dual nature, and Joi’s ex returns to the scene to cause havoc, Angelo has to do everything in his power to keep Joi safe and prove to her that she’s his queen… and his love.

Growl, This is a Cliffhanger in the Worst Way!

As paranormal, interracial books go, this is typical. There's very little content, the plot is thin and the characters are undeveloped. The difference is the author tried to interperse history of how the packs came to be in the world and was unsuccessful. In trying to explain the animosity in the two main packs, she lacked clarity. Those were the good things.

The rest of the book was filled with the two main mates finding themselves which was simply an excuse for lots of sex. It was not sensual or even erotic, just sex, not even porn - only boring sex. Such a shame because the premise as well as the main characters had the making of an extremely good book.

Even worse, not only is this a cliffhanger, you were warned at the last minute that if you read the epilogue, it would be a cliffhanger. Otherwise if you didn't read the epilogue, you would have just been left hanging. A patent attempt to get you to buy at least two more books. I find this to be disgusting habit some authors are employing to go get you to buy more books. I normally would have returned This book for a refund except there were flashes of the author being a good writer. Was she so unsure of her talents, that she not only wrote very short books in a series, but they were also cliffhangers. However, I'm interested enough and bored enough to buy a couple more of the books if they're inexpensive. Otherwise this is the end of me purchasing anymore of her books.

Ugh. Mostly explicit thoughts and sex. A bunch of Roman names and history I couldn't follow or remember. Interesting twists near the end. But mostly. Oy. Pass.

While I did enjoy read Angelo and Joi story. I feel there were quite a few things that needed more explaining. I think there is more to the story for these two it was a bit rushed towards the end. I would really love for the author to maybe give is a bit more info, maybe make a novella explaining things a bit more clearly. But over all this was a very good read and I would recommend that you read it if you are looking for a quick read that could be read in one sitting. There is a cliffhanger so beware of that.

Luv this read and can't wait for the next book to come out. I like there is so much going in the book but I have never been a big fan of how books flip back and forth in the story line. I am willing to give this a chance because I enjoyed it so much. I am not a fast reader and only read on lunch so for me to finish this in a few days speaks volumes.

I liked the story. I just think that Angelo and Joi’s is too short. For the next installment to go right into Howl’s and Talia’s story kind of feels like Angelo and Joi’s story was rushed. I enjoyed it.

I thought for sure I had gave this a review, I am to sorry. I love all your stories. Matter of fact I need to check those to make sure I gave those a review.
I said it before and I will say it again, the key to a great author is when someone reads your story more then once. This is not my first time rereading this story & won’t be my last this is a great read.

Good Read

This story is interesting. It kept me coming back to read. I loved the characters. I just wished it was more developed because I didn't understand the connection with the father's backstory & the son's present. It still is a good read.

Decent, Entertaining Read

Pretty decent read. There was some long-winded points, but overall enjoyable read that didn't drag the drama out longer than necessary.

This was a fun read.

I enjoyed the emphasis on doing the right thing versus loyalty. The sex was descriptive to the point of you wanting to found and mates with a Wolf shifter.

Good page turner

Angelo is a persistent, dominate wolf shifter who gets what he wants no matter what. Joi is a strong willed stubborn woman who runs from Angelo because she is scared of the feelings she has for Angelo in just a day after meeting him. Angelo has a business deal he no longer wants apart of , so that puts Joi in danger. Good book

I liked this story. I really did but it does need some clarity to it. At times, the story seemed disjointed, but it wasn’t completely irredeemable. Angelo and Joi both had qualities that as individuals, I liked but that didn’t always shine though in their couple aspect. I kind of feel that ‘Queen’ was thrown in the title to draw in more African American readers. I’m not really sure. I read the story because I like the premise and saw some real potential in it. I still want to read the following stories and hope for more character development—as individuals and as a couple for Angelo and Joi.

Great Read

This is the opening to a new series and what a start!! The characters are strong and both Alphas. Joi is fiesty and independent; Growl dominant and arrogant. What a combination! This is a great meeting of two powerful protagonists. Yes. I thoroughly enjoyed this a d already already there are other characters waiting in the wings, so to speak, who have their story. Yes I am definitely going to read the next book in the series.

Great read

Love Paranormal romances. Growl and Joi's joining felt a tad bit rushed, but it was still memorable story.maybe book was fast paced and didnt give you time to revel in the romance before the story ended. I hope we get to see more of them in Howls story of maybe Hendrix...

I loved this story

Angelo “Growl” Marconi and Joi Young had electric chemistry. Growl knew before Joi entered his building, he was meeting his mate for the first time. He could smell through an opened  window in his office building when she came to renegotiate a business contract with Angelo who is the owner CEO of the Woodland Pack Inc. He knew as soon as he saw her that she was his comes animae, his koro spiritu anima. She was created just for him and he for her. He just had to persuade her but instead she ran, and in doing so caused more harm than good to both of them. He told her that he would  always find her, no matter where she ran to. And he did find her and explained to her just who he was but left out some crucial stuff. It turns out that Growl’s brother Howl’s comes animae was Joi’s bestfriend Talia, but due to  some old business Growl did with the old crooked Don Alpha Fernando Bianchi, they were  in trouble due to the Don’s greed. The mating bond between Joi and Growl being fully consummated, they fought together to get rid  of the problem along with Joi’s Carribean neighbor, Hendrix who mistakedly thought that Joi was his mate but turns out it may be her sister Kim’s mate.

With
I look forward to reading more about Joi and Growl in future books on Talia and Howl and possibly Kim and Hendrix.

Love ANGELO & JOI

What a great book. I could not put it down. It is always great to be able to read about STRONG, SUCCESSFUL, INTELLIGENT BLACK WOMEN. JOI did run but it’s understandable because she was scared like many of us can be when it come to feeling as if we will be succumbing to the needs of a strong Alpha man like Angelo. However sometime we have to let go and just go with the sexy, sensual flow. I love their chemistry and bond. Wonderfully written.

I can see this author creating a great series with the several others of the pack and her girls. Can’t wait for Howl’s Beauty.

Greatish...but..

Great things happening in this book that just fell short, it seemed extremely rushed once we get to her running away. I have no idea still since the beginning what the flashbacks were about. All I know is something happened in Rome. What? What’s up with the parchment? I get that there is a part two I just wish there relationship happened in a more of a flow thing. They met for one day, three weeks of no contact later, they were in love all of their lives. Just didn’t flow right, not worth 5bucks. However I do like the writing style and the plot was good, so I will be waiting to buy and read Howls story.

A Very Good Interracial Supernatural Romance

Group's Queen: The Full-Length Novel Novel (Woodland Pack Book 1) is a very good interracial supernatural romance novel that earned a rating of four stars. I enjoyed reading this book about how Angelo Marconi, also known as Growl, found his mate in Joi . The book was exciting And very sensual as Growl and Joi overcome a lot of obstacles as they fight for lives and their love. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys reading good romance novels.

Twilight for adults

I enjoyed reading about Joi and Growl. I wish the author would have given details about the outcome between the Alphas. Why did Hendrix decide to switch sides? Did Growl and Joi ever find out what Talia was doing? I just had so many unanswered questions. I cant wait till Howl’s Beauty is released.
Growl changed after Joi. It was clear in his behavior. His entire persona changed. I enjoyed his playfulness.
I like that Joi didn’t change after meeting Growl. She still was an Alpha in her own right.
