Mary Sue Jackson is the romance pen name created for all those cowboy dreamers! This Montana-based cowgirl is a rancher, and knows what hard work means. But despite being up at dawn and working past dusk, she still finds time for what she really loves... romance! With so many hours spent alone, riding across the seemingly never-ending expanse of grasslands, she has plenty of time to dream of love and the romantic tales of ranch life.
When Mary Sue's not out on the grasslands dreaming up her next story, she's most often spending time with her own personal hunky rancher, her husband. One of Mary Sue's favorite activities is to ride the ranch with her husband in the evening and hold his hand as they watch the sun go down over the prairie.
I really enjoyed this bbok. This is Parker and Chelsea's story. I loved thsee two. The story begins with Chelsea following her dream of moving to Texas. On her first night she meets Parker and furfills her other dream to hookup with a cowboy. But Parker only hooks up with tourist, He doesn't want to commit. But their one night of pleasure has left Chelsea pregnant. Chelsea has been offered the job to teach at the elementary school and has moved to town. Parker wasn't expecting when his sister hired her to do the bookkeeping for the dairy farm that when he opened the door the woman he thought he would never see again was on his doorstep and pregnant. Once he got over the anger and shock, his protectiveness kicked in. It was fun watching Parker fall in love and to watch Chelsea learn to accept help. Both of them products of their past, both learning to grow. It was a realistic story and would read again.

I'm reviewing an ARC copy of The Cowboy's Heir (thanks, Booksprout). I thought the romance was kinda steamy (not explicit) but the characters just left me cold. She's a ditz who dreams of cowboys, so she runs down to Texas, sleeps with the first cowboy she meets (he's a player), buys a house sight unseen on the realtor's recommendation (it's an environmental and structural disaster) and accepts a job as a teacher at an alternative school (she's never been a teacher, but her momma's a therapist). Of course, by the time school starts she's through the first trimester of her unplanned pregnancy and cowboy baby daddy doesn't even know he knocked her up. And to top it all off, she discovers he lives in the same town, and he's a dairy farmer, not cowboy. His first reaction to her surprise announcement is to slam the door in her face. This gal apparently has a Ph.D. in Bad Decisions. He's the unhappy product of a severely dysfunctional family, and has zero relationship skills. His real commitment in life is the cows. But... They're in love, heaven help us all, and apparently it's the REAL DEAL, because no matter how much they screw up their attempts to get together, it still works out. Writer Mary Sue Jackson has filled in the outlines with all kinds of touchy-feely, in an attempt to explain/garner sympathy/make excuses for a pair of unlikable people in an unenviable situation, but my predominant reaction on finishing the book was "ICK."
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The blurb of this book is crazily long. Anyone could get the idea that this story is saturated with different plots and lots of character development. That impression couldn’t have been more misplaced. This has been a pain to read in many levels…
We put on our stetsons and cowboy boots to travel to a small town in Texas, where Chelsea, the newcomer, has just got a position as a kindergarten teacher. Her first night there, she goes to a bar and meets Parker, the cowboy by day and hunk by all hours. They present each other and, in less than you can say potato, they start kissing and getting all handy. This ends in an unexpected pregnancy (Chelseas’s, duh!!). Too bad she doesn’t even know where the guy lives or his surname. It seems motherhood is a challenge she will face alone… unless Fate has other plans…
This book is so bad, I don’t know where to start. I guess I could talk about the story, but… what story?? The most interesting and suspenseful part of the book is knowing if a cow is going to give more or less milk. Honest! There is nothing else that could keep the reader on turning pages. Nothing remotely interesting at least. We are presented with a lot of strange plot threads: the pregnancy, the romance, the Trent family, the problems of the dairy, the new animal program on Chelsea’s school… A bunch of ideas thrown together that are pretty messy and very badly developed. So, so badly that most of them are incomplete. Why do you introduce so many plots if you are going to forget about them? If the romance were mindblowing I could forgive it, but taking into account it is horrible… at least give me something else, don’t you think?
I guess the focus is on the pregnancy and that Chelsea was facing it as a single mother due to the fact she didn’t know how to contact Parker. Sadly, it starts in a very poor and infurating manner. How can Chelsea be surprised about her pregnancy? You had UNPROTECTED sex with a person you had just met. The only thing you knew about the guy was his name. Getting a baby is actually the best case scenario. Or STDs have been eradicated and I haven’t got the memo? I don’t think so. It baffles me how normal this book makes having unsafe sex with a stranger. It even hints about being Parker’s MO. Not two chapters into the book and my blood was already boiling. I couldn’t believe what I was reading.
And if you think we could count on the characters to save this mess… you are wrong. What an annoying bunch of human beings. I will start with Chelsea. Could she be more of a whiner? I get she is used to doing everything by herself, but her inability to accept kindness is madenning. She gets so angry with Parker everytime he tries to help her. Yes, it is bad form to go behind her back to rearrange her life (for the better), but that doesn’t grant her the freedom to lash out like that. And the hypocrisy of this woman is boundless!!! She complaints about Parker’s antics, but she does exactly the same to him several times. And she has the nerve to get angry when Parker doesn’t like that? I can’t stomach her.
And Parker… well… he is slightly better. But just a little bit. If you don’t like Chelsea getting angry when you help her, I guess you have lost the right of being angry when she helps you. I have just realized the book is just a dance about who is angry at a time. They both take turns, so during most of the book at least one of them is pissed at the other. So much fun. Horrible couple. That makes the sex scenes (the copy/paste to get more pages) unbearable.
Yes, I have had too many “Kill me now!!” moments while reading this book. I always try to find something positive, but this time I can’t save anything. Let’s hope next books on my list are better, because the last ones are making me rethink about the getting up-to-date with my NetGalley reviews…
Ich liebe die Bücher von Mary Sue Jackson. Wirklich jedes Hörbuch konnte mich bisher begeistern.

The Cowboy's Heir by Mary Sue Jackson (presented by Leslie North) is a Texas romance featuring Chelsea Karnes, who has come to Texas to teach Kindergarten and Parker Trent, who is an emotionally unavailable dairy farmer. It is a fun read, with a foregone conclusion. Romances always have this conclusion: happily ever after. It is the journey that makes the difference. In this story, Chelsea has always been enamored of Texas and cowboys. She has come to interview for a Kindergarten position and meets the perfect cowboy right off the bat. Contrary to her normal behavior, she spends the night with him after just meeting him, only to discover several months later that she is pregnant. She returns to Texas to start her new life and runs smack into him, causing all kinds of dissension.
Mary Sue Jackson tells a good story. They are all the same, but all very different. She gives her characters back stories and personalities. She has peripheral characters, but mostly they are pretty basic as the bulk of the interaction is the two people involved. The Cowboy's Heir is entertaining and interesting, with twists and turns that are creative, interesting, and realistic. It was enjoyable to read, went quickly, and tied up all the loose ends. I recommend it.
I received a free ARC of The Cowboy's Heir. All opinions and ideas expressed in this review are my own
Chelsea and Parker had a passionate one night stand, and three months later she is back in his home town to start her new job. She doesn’t know the last name of the cowboy who is now going to be a father, but she is confident she can raise her baby on her own if necessary. Parker is less than thrilled to see Chelsea again, especially since she is pregnant and is now sticking around town to be the new Kindergarten teacher at the local school. Off to a very rough start, a relationship between these two seems highly unlikely. Parker seeks Chelsea out to clear some things up between them, and is horrified to see the decrepit house she has bought. He manages to tell her that he intends to be part of his child’s life before gets her angry and defensive again by telling what she can and cannot do because she is pregnant. As they work to create some semblance of a relationship for the sake of the baby, past hurts and regrets, stubbornness, bossiness and insecurities all come into play. They can’t seem to agree or to give an inch where the other is concerned, but they also can’t keep their hands off each other. Could a baby oops turn into a happily ever after? This couple’s relationship is tumultuous, passionate and very entertaining.

Chelsea and Parker hooked up the night they met. The next morning Parker was gone and she knew she had to go for her interview. Parker was told by his sister that he needed to get a bookkeeper since their last one retired. Meanwhile 3 months later Chelsea go back to the small town where is was going to be working there. Chelsea wasn’t sure if Parker was still around and would she tell him. She was starting to get her life together so she also answered an ad for a bookkeeper on a dairy farm. Parker sees her and slams the door in her face. His sister Mia told him that she was the bookkeeper. Chelsea was not going to deal Parker when he is was in a mood. Parker came to the house to see how he could fit somethings that needed to be fixed. Chelsea speaks with the principle when he tells her that she is going to be working with Parker. Even though Chelsea was new in town that wanted to know the baby daddy. Parker moved Chelsea his house so she would be safe. At work the kids were not really taking care of the animals so she puts herself at risked and takes care of them. Chelsea goes to meet Parker’s dad because she knew he was always at the hardware store. Chelsea was getting bigger and Parker was stressing over his dairy farm. Twists,Turns, Surprises and forgiveness.
Chelsea was raised by a working mother and never relied on anyone else. She decided to apply for a job in Texas, a place she fell in love with in books. When she visited the town, she met a cowboy, Parker, in a bar and had a one night stand. She found out that she was pregnant but didn't know how to contact Parker since they had not exchanged information. When she got the job, she bought a house that needed repair and moved. When she got there, she found the house needed a lot of work. She had also advertised to do bookkeeping work to earn money during her free time. When she showed up at the farm to do the bookkeeping, Parker answered the door and slammed it in her face after he realized she was pregnant. His sister stopped her from leaving and Parker came outside and demanded to know if the baby was his. He and Chelsea had an argument, one of many, and she left. Mia, his sister convinced her to come back and she agreed only if Parker was not in the house. The story continues with Parker trying to help Chelsea and to do things for her. Chelsea resented Parker trying to meddle in her life. Will these two ever realize that they love each other? Will they ever stop arguing? I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to everyone.

Chelsea is finally getting something she has always wanted since reading her first cowboy book. She's moving out west to be a teacher at an alternative school. She even has the cowboy hookup for the summer in her trip to find somewhere to live. Parker didnt have the best of childhoods. He feels that he messed everything up for everyone he cared about. Now that he has inherited a dairy farm from his father he is cautious with everything in his life. Only now everything seems to be falling apart again. His farms books are being questioned and now his summer fling has shown up pregnant too. In order to show Chelsea that he can be a good father he helps with the adaptive animal program at the alternate school that Chelsea happens to work at and run the program. In hope to win her over after not showing any excitment of the pregnancy he learns something else more. Besides showing that he can be a great father, he wants to be more for Chelsea and the baby. He wants to be a husband. Chelsea is more then happy to raise the baby alone even though Parker refuses to fail at being the father the child needs.

Imagine Parker's surprise when his one night tourist fling turns out to be the new teacher and not only that she is pregnant with his child. Now he has to make everything perfect again by getting her to marry him and the more he tries to convince her the more he wants from her While Seashell is happy to be a single mum Can he convince her that he wants to be more than a father he wants her.
Chelsea is in town to interview for a new job which she hopes to get and start fresh there in the little town. On her first night there she meets Parker in a bar and they hook up for a hot night. The next day when he is gone Chelsea moves on with her life not knowing that a little something was left with her from that night. When she gets hired for the school she moves to town however with school not in session yet she needs a temporary job so she responds to an ad looking for a book keeper. Imagine her shock when Parker opens the door and looks angry because she is there. Will she tell him about the baby? What will Parker do about Chelsea?
This is a great story that I couldn't put down once I started it. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

Parker meets Chelsea in a bar three months later she is back with a surprise. As a break from the dairy farm he owns Parker goes to the local bar for a drink where he meets Chelsea and they end up in her hotel room. Three months later Chelsea is back in town having got the job she interviewed for and takes a job as bookkeeper at a local farm until she starts her position as kindergarten teacher. She is shocked when she get to the farm to see Parker as the door opens but she has a bigger surprise for him in that she is carrying his child. Both are stubborn and interdependent which give rise to disagreements so what is the future have in store for them as friends let alone parents. A romance to relax and enjoy.

ONE FASCINATING ADVENTURE!!! Oh Man! Talk about hot and bothered. A whirlwind of circumstances and events that keep you flipping page after page. One rollercoaster ride as a full range of emotions run rampant and draw you deeper until everything else ceases to exist. A thrilling storyline and explosive plot bring this bad boy to life beautifully. Endeavoring to overcome all the trials and tribulations along with a few bumps and bruises make for one incredible experience. The two main characters chemistry is intense, steamy and palpable. The characters are original, believable and so realistic with traits and qualities that blend and flow smoothly. The scenes are vividly described and paints an amazing backdrop that really pulls this little gem together flawlessly. Amazing job guys, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
I'm reviewing an ARC copy of The Cowboy's Heir thanks to NetGalley. I gave the book a 1 star because it was the lowest possible rating available. Both main characters have no real depth and are so unlikeable it's difficult to read anything about them.
I DNFed this book around Chapter 10. It was a complete waste of time for me. Most cowboy romance books I can get 100% behind, but the main character is a horrible example of a teacher. She is a complete ditz who picks up her life on a whim and moves to Texas because she loves all the cowboys' she has read about. Then of course, she has a one-night stand with the first cowboy she meets in town and gets pregnant. Upon getting the job, which she really is qualified for, she purchases a house sight unseen which turns out to be more than a fixer upper.
Everything in this book was so cliche and unoriginal.
Chelsea and Parker should be in Colorado not Texas their entire relationship is rocky. They met in the first chapter of the book. First name only. Parker seemed nice enough take him up on his proposal. When Chelsea shows up Mias house who happens to be Parkers sister for a job, ends up telling Parker she's pregnant and his response is BAD she storms off never wanting to see him again. He showed up at her ahem house to apologize. That goes poorly to. This starts their new relationship. Enter dairy cow competitions and horse back rides jealousy and a big bellied Chelsea. Now to save the farm. Then save the Trent family. Then deal with the baby. This book is really a romantic baby journal.

Chelsea always wanted to have her own cowboy and in Texas boy did she find one Parker is a real cowboy running his dairy farm and finding out of town women to hook up with. But now he is focused on running his farm until he sees Chelsea whom is just his type plus she is an out of towner.
After their one night stand Parker is surprised when he finds out Chelsea is pregnant, his farm is in some financial crisis, but he wants to try and be a father to the baby. They start out as strangers but once they get to know each other they become more than strangers having a baby.
This story will have you rooting for the couple through their ups and downs and misunderstandings. I voluntarily received an arc copy through Booksprout for my honest review.
I really liked this story. It flowed well, I laughed and enjoyed the situations they found themselves in. It deals with imperfect people and their hang ups. Shows how things that happen in our lives shape the way we think and feel. Gives insight as to how we develop negative self talk that then causes us to act and react in ways that sabatoge our interactions with others and make us think we don't want or deserve good things in life. It also teaches us that if we talk about these issues with those we have relationships with, it helps us put things in perspective. Once we see things for what they are and share them we can start to change our actions and reactions.

Chelsea is pregnant after a one-night stand with Parker when she visits his town. She turns up several months later ready to start teaching kindergarten, and as a part-time bookkeeping job at a ranch - his ranch, unbeknownst to her. They plan to co-parent, but have trouble agreeing on anything. His take-charge attitude and her inability to accept help nearly doom this pair. Parker's father and absentee mother add much unneeded stress, at just about the same time that they start to figure it out. I liked these two together, and also how level-headed her mother is. I've read books from this author before, and will continue to look for her.

Chelsea Karnes has dreamed of moving out west to "wide open spaces" ever since reading her first cowboy romance at age. So when Chelsea gets offered a teaching position at an "alternative" elementary school in Texas she sees it as fate's design and goes all in. Even hooking up with a cowboy on her. Parker Trent is now a careful man. He's inherited a sizeable dairy farm from his father, and he himself looks at the purity of his milk and the purity of his dating record: he only dates tourists. Dating to be in the middle of a happy new year, up and down the new school. This was a decent enough book. It follows a lot of the basic unplanned pregnancy tropes. Both main characters were ok. I was able to read it quick enough. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
Parker doesn’t do commitment. He lives in a small town with people passing through. He meets Chelsea and they hook up. Only Chelsea is in town for an interview as the new teacher.
When she shows back up pregnant, Parker is not happy with the situation. But he gives her a place to stay and she’s helping him sort out the financial mess that is his dairy farm.
Chelsea is taken with cowboys and the West. Now she’s knocked up by a cowboy.
Will Parker make an effort to.be a father and maybe a husband? Cuz all his relationships have crashed and burned. 4.5 stars
Chelsea Karnes has dreamed about moving out of Chicago and when she's offered a teaching position in Texas she jumps at the opportunity. While at her initial job interview she hooks up with Parker, a local guy who's looking for a one night stand. He's not interested in hooking up with any of the local girls. He prefers the tourists. As a result of their one night stand Chelsea finds herself pregnant and doesn't even know Parker's last name. Chelsea gets the job in Texas and when she returns to Texas she's hoping to find Parker again even if it's just to let him know he's the father of her child. Parker is determined that he will be a good father for his child. He's just not sure if he can be a good husband.

Chelsea was looking forward to moving to Texas and starting a new chapter in her life. She went out for a job interview and met a cowboy the night before the interview she knew was doing the right thing. Three months later, she's finally moving to Texas for her new job with one little surprise for the cowboy. But she doesn't know his last name or anything about him to help find him until fate steps in. But can Parker give her the chance to explain before he ruins his chances with her and their little family? ❤️️🔥

When Chelsea has come to town for an interview at a school, she meets Parker and they have a one-nighter. Well, she left with a souvenir. When she gets the job and moves, she applies for a part time accounting job at Parker’s farm. He is totally surprised but steps up to the plate to take care of his baby. She has bought a house, fixer-upper sight unseen and finds out it is not fit for habitation. She moves her to his homestead and they get to know each other. They have some obstacles to overcome. Nicely written and enjoyable read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
The Cowboy's Heir is a steady-paced, easy to read and sometimes complicated story of two people finding their way, after a moment of passion that was never meant to repeat. Chelsea and Parker come from very different backgrounds, but through unexpected events they find that their love of the wide-open spaces of Texas and a hard, yet simple way of life are actually the same.
While a times they both had frustrating tendencies, and lacked the ability to let go of their independence, this was an enjoyable read with a good storyline, and solid plot, and interesting characters. I look forward to Ms Jackson’s next rousing tale.
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Chelsea and Parker. She's in town for an interview and he's a local dairy farmer. They have a one night stand that results in an unexpected pregnancy. When she returns to town to start get job she had no clue on how to contact Parker. So when an opportunity arises for her to work at a dairy farm with bills, image her surprise when Parker opens the door. The story is about their trials and learning process. How to work as a team and not let their hearts get hurt. Great HEA.

I liked this book. Likable characters, good chemistry, lots of emotions help make this an entertaining romance. Chelsea and Parker's story is complicated by emotional baggage and misunderstandings. For me both of these characters had a certain amount of naivety to them. In my opinion they both had much to learn about how what you think or expect is most generally incredibly different from how things really are. It was fun watching them learn and grow together individually and as a couple. I am posting a sincere, voluntary review.
Fiercely independent Chelsea meets fiercely over-protective cowboy Parker for a one night stand which results in a pregnancy. Coincidence throws these two together again by chance. Sparks fly between them as Chelsea tries to keep her independence and Parker resists committing to her after his parent's failed marriage. However, he does want to be involved with the baby. The chemistry between them proves impossible to fight. Some really tender and hilarious moments along the way plus a perfect amount of hot and steamy. Can't recommend this highly enough. Read an ARC for an honest review.
Enjoying the best that life has to offer means stepping out of our comfort zone and trying something new. Parker and Chelsea are about to learn what can happen when taking a risk on love. The Cowboy's Heir gives heartache, a new outlook. Jackson gives a peek into the wounds of a battered heart and the antidote that makes everything better. On the verge of a new beginning, two strangers discover a brighter day. Home is just a heartbreak away in this tempting romance. Bumpy meets beautiful and finds perfect.

This is a really nice cowboy romance. The storlyline was good and the characters were really well written. I at least really enjoyed reading this story and at the end of the day that is more or less what I can go by when judging stories and this one I really liked a lot. It at least almost deserves the full five stars but as I only give those out when I feel the story is truly and exceptionally remarkable, this one gets the beautiful four stars and of those this story is truly deserving!!!
