The Red Thread: A Search for Ideological Drivers Inside the Anti-Trump Conspiracy

Rate this book
The first investigation into why a ring of senior Washington officials went rogue to derail the election and the presidency of Donald Trump. There was nothing normal about the 2016 presidential election, not when senior U.S. officials were turning the surveillance powers of the federal government—designed to stop terrorist attacks—against the Republican presidential team. These were the ruthless tactics of a Soviet-style police state, not a democratic republic. The Red Thread asks the simple question: Why? What is it that motivated these anti-Trump conspirators from inside and around the Obama administration and Clinton networks to depart so drastically from “politics as usual” to participate in a seditious effort to overturn an election? Finding clues in an array of sources, Diana West uses her trademark investigative skills, honed in her dazzling work, American Betrayal, to construct a fascinating series of ideological profiles of well-known but little understood anti-Trump actors, from James Comey to Christopher Steele to Nellie Ohr, and the rest of the Fusion GPS team; from John Brennan to the numerous Clintonistas still patrolling the Washington Swamp after all these years, and more. Once, we knew these officials by august titles and reputation; after The Red Thread, readers will recognize their multi-generational and inter-connecting communist and socialist pedigrees, and see them for what they really are: foot-soldiers of the Left, deployed to take down America’s first “America First” and most anti-Communist president. If we just give it a pull, the “red thread” is very long and very deep.

I can only hope that the investigations initiated by DOJ through Durham will reveal some of these actors well enough that someone pays a price for the last three years of seditious activity. The only thing I did not like about this short volume was that West, herself, narrated the story - she is not a terribly engaging narrator. This you tube video may be enough for you, {https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=db3M4...}, but I highly recommend the entire book.

Must read, if you want to know what's going on with our enemies and avoid the inevitable clash.
(The eBook edition fails in showing a legible image of tweets that are referred to, for this, you would want to to have a physical book)

From the Afterword: "We are victims of so many cons. As tools of deception, they do immense damage when the media confer on them the status of conventional wisdom, even if they are eventually debunked years or generations later." Diana West did an immense amount of research on who and what is behind the collusion conspiracy and the education and motivation of the major players involved in the conspiracy. She not only researched the backgrounds of those in the present, such as former FBI director Comey and former CIA director Brennan, among others, but goes back to the 1930s and 1940s when Communist sympathizers were embedded into American institutions. The Red Thread refers to Marxist/Communist influence woven through American government, education, jurisprudence. The book is eye opening.

Red Thread by Diana West...West was born and raised in Hollywood, CA, but you'd never know it. She hates, I mean HATES commies. Red Thread is a collection of her recent magazine & on-line articles on Communism sweeping the west...Diana West is an intellectual and Jewish, so it makes you wonder how she feels about the 'J' question when comes to Trotsky-ites, Bolsheviks, etc, unfortunately she never goes there...but, she takes a deep-dive on creeps like CIA director John Brennan. For those who want some insight...4.0 outa 5.0

I love the curious mind of the author to investigate what piques her interest. As well, I am thrilled she is honest enough to draw no unwarranted conclusions, but to honestly wonder about suspicious behavior and circumstances. I have always joked with my congregation that three types of individuals repudiate the notion of coincidence, Sicilians, CIA operatives, and Baptist preachers (me). I will add Diana West to my list of those suspicious of coincidence. This little book is a great read.

Diana West is a dedicated researcher. She put together a lot of information in a cohesive way. The evidence that the real collusion regarding the 2016 election of Donald Trump came from Washington insiders who may have been working with or for Russia is very hard to refute. The players in this book are people we see on TV daily. This is a book that should be read.

Diana West does it again...

She digs & digs into wide-ranging sources, always asking “yes, but why?” And “does that sound right to you?” No polemics here. Just pattern-seeking & sense-making. Suitable for busy people who can barely make time to catch the evening news, none of which tells you anything of substance anyway. Accessibly written.

Red Storm Rising Again?

Extremely well researched and identifies national vulnerabilities stemming from
historical and current Marxist events, that are on going in the USA today. Diana West clearly describes the old saying, "If it looks like a duck, if it walks like a duck, and if it quacks like a duck, you can be reasonably sure it is a duck." Is a red storm rising again?

Better dead than Red? No, even better: Dead Red! Excellent research, but the exuberance for Donald J. Trump expressed herein falls flat considering the Big Man is playing FDR and Making America Soviet AND Multicultural Again.

Americans

Love the book, she told it like it is. So many things happening behind the Americans back. We need to say, "enough is enough, " we stand against all sorts of communists and socialism ideas.

Diana exposes real world leftist links of Brennan, Comey, and others involved in the Russia-hoax, information that for the most part has gone unreported in the national media.

This book contains fascinating ideas and research of interactions between people and excerpts from documents such as e-mails, theses, dissertations, and dossiers. She makes a compelling case that I don’t completely buy in the end. The author’s analysis jumps to several assumptions that many in high government positions and even theologians have secret allegiances to communism and Russia and have a left-wing world view; running a deep-state inter-government where the end justifies the means with no law or morality. While an interesting premise and an excellent potential movie plot, I tend to think that there is no deep-state conspiracy but rather officials who hold to the globalism, world economics, social justice, socialism and many other ideas which emerged after world war II. The author reads the book for the Audible version and her voice changes for the quotes are cringe-worthy. The book did help me understand the popular isolationist, nationalist viewpoint, currently in emergence, and the movement away from globalization. I am glad I read the book.
