Notice: This is a SUMMARY of Stephen R. Covey’s, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change.

7 Habits of Highly Effective People sold over 25 million copies in 40 languages for simple reasons…
Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is one of the best-selling self-help books of all time. It’s in a league all its own because it proposes to do something that the majority of the other books of the genre do not – rebuild you from the inside out.

Self-help books show you ways to improve your outward appearances, such as a diet to lose weight, a gym routine to get more fit, and a manner of dressing right to get the job. Covey starts at a much deeper level, asking why do anything at all? From this basic question, we build forward, showing that action is a natural law of life, and so is direction, and planning, relationships, and personal growth.

By laying down the framework of belief behind each of these concepts, we can engage with them mindfully and effectively. So by increasing our effectiveness, we see goals that seemed like dreams suddenly appear on the horizon, well within our reach.

Who will benefit from this book?
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a journey through yourself. Author Stephen Covey challenges us to define our deepest motivations to find out what would constitute a meaningful life. Once we've done that, we can power through to those meaningful experiences in a more effective way than ever before.

This summary is for anyone seeking purpose and growth.

It's all about what is in your control and out of your control. Helps one to be laser-focused on one's influence of control.

It's alright

It's an EG summary. They are usually shallow reads, but give you a good idea of what the completed work is about. Not knocking the summary, it does that well. The source material is just sub par. The review is mainly a reflection on that.

The book was too short and not "effectively" organized.

This is as long as it needs to be. I thought it was very well done and a good alternative to reading the original.
