Nolan (Ringer) Bell is a SEAL, sidelined for a ruptured appendix and on medical leave. Bored at his mom’s house, he agrees to help his sister, a local PI, specializing in financial fraud. The case…suspected money laundering through a wedding chapel with ties to a casino.
His sister partners him with Lynn Cox, another PI, who just happens to be the high school crush he left behind when he joined the SEALs. Their assignment…to have a pretend wedding to get a close up view at what is going on in the chapel and spend their “honeymoon” at the Casino resort.
Ringer’s sweet but meddling mother is the secretary setting up the details. She has always had a soft spot for Lynn and uses their real documents when applying for their “fake marriage license”.
Discovering they are married for real, Ringer and Lynn have to figure out how to get unmarried while still investigating the casino mob’s money laundering scheme. A night gambling and drinking lands Ringer and Lynn in honeymoon suite.
Maybe mom knows best, after all. Or maybe they won't survive the night.
As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.
My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.
My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with. I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.
I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!
I had so much fun writing this story! Being from the eastern part of Tennessee, it was delightful to return to my roots and write a story that took place in Gatlinburg. The little wedding chapels always fascinated me and the research I completed for this book made me want to visit the chapels in the mountains! I enjoy writing about military heroes who are not on active duty at the time of the story, and having Nolan recuperate from an appendectomy was a great way to have him at home with his family. I hope you enjoy the story!
Undercover Groom by Maryann Jordan is a stand alone story as a part of Seals in Paradise Series. This story is so light and fun, I found myself smiling while reading it. The romance is definitely there for them both and it seems to have come as a surprise to the H, Nolan. The h, Lynn, is his younger sister’s best friend and spent a lot of time with their family growing up. She had a huge crush on him as a kid, so developing feelings for him as an adult really isn’t a surprise to her. I seriously enjoyed this read because it was genuinely happy and you could feel their connection, even if they both thought it was just a ruse.
Nolan is home recovering from a ruptured appendix and bored out of his mind. His sister is a PI and asks for help with her case. Once he agrees, she lets him know that his partner will be her BFF who is a forensic accountant and part of the investigation too. While they’re both slightly uncomfortable at being thrown together, they spend a bit of time together and decide that the adventure will be fun. They go undercover as a couple looking to get married to try to obtain information on the man that owns the wedding chapel. Things don’t go quite as planned and they end up going through with a wedding in order for their cover not to be blown. Neither expected that their fake wedding would end up being real and didn’t know for several days. In those days, they spent time together and genuinely fell for one another.
Their finding out that they were really married was rough and Nolan’s behavior really disappointed me. I wasn’t sure he would be able to recover from his reaction. I LOVED how she reacted to his reaction by standing up for herself and doing what was good for her. Having him figure things out for himself and then having to seriously grovel for her forgiveness was handled well.
I also liked how they handled their future. She is a grown up with her own business that she has worked hard to establish and build. I liked that she didn’t just up and sell to follow him but wanted to look out for herself. Very mature decision. I also liked the vow renewal ceremony and how it was all his idea and done at his urging so that it was a real marriage.
This was such a sweet story and I loved the characters. I especially loved the character development for Nolan in both his personal and professional life. Really taking the time to figure out what would be right for him and for Lynn too, not just focusing on himself. When the story was over, you truly feel like they have a shot at a happy life and a relationship built on friendship and love, not lust and sex (though they do have some great chemistry 😉).
I am a huge fan of Ms, Jordan’s writing and this is another great addition for her. In some ways these characters seem like they might fit well in Baytown, so if you like her Baytown series I think you would like this as well. Great job - don’t miss out! I received an ARC for my unbiased review.
Part of the SEALs in Paradise series, Hot SEAL Undercover Groom by Maryann Jordan is an entertaining read mixing a little suspense with some romance and a dash of fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Nolan 'Ringer' Bell is itching to get back to the action with his Seal Team after being side-lined by a ruptured appendix. In an effort to relieve the boredom he reluctantly agrees to help PI sister Nancy with one of her cases, unbeknownst to Nolan Nancy has also roped in her best friend Lynn a forensic accountant to help. Lynn had a huge crush on Nolan in high school that she's never quite got over and it turns out Nolan wasn't completely immune to her either. The pair set off as a prospective bride and groom to investigate a suspect wedding chapel and when things don't quite go to plan they adapt accordingly. Once in the Casino resort enjoying their 'honeymoon' their growing feelings for each other spark into passion. As usual Maryann Jordan delivers an excellent story with a clever plot that includes a couple of twists and it's definitely not all plain sailing between sexy Nolan and sweet Lynn as they negotiate falling in love, misunderstandings and careers miles apart. I totally recommend reading this book you won't be disappointed. I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
Nolan a HOT SEAL at home recovering from surgery, bored to tears agrees to do some investigation work for his sister, teamed up with her best friend unbeknownst to him, Lynn agrees reluctantly to help with lots of reservations since she's had a crush on Nolan for years, so totally amazing, this entire series has been amazing, thank you Maryann Jordan, I have voluntarily read and review this ARC, Dana Zamora
Nolan thinks he doesn’t want a “real” relationship. Nolan’s sister needs a bit of help, he reluctantly agrees. Lynn had a teenage crush on Nolan, that never really went a way. The sparks fly when they meet again. There’s a bit of push pull and mild angst. Fate has a way of putting you exactly where you need to be!
Nolan is a navy seal and he had taken the weekend off to be best man at his cousins wedding but things took a turn for the worse when he collapsed and he woke up in hospital to be told that he had surgery for a ruptured appendix with complications and now he was on medical leave for two months but what he didn't count on was his sister Nancy asking for his help. Lynn is an accountant and helps Nancy with some of her clients, they have been best friends since second grade but she has always had feelings for Nolan but she can still remember when she threw herself at Nolan only for him to reject her and now they have to work together. When Nolan and Lynn to undercover together to solve a problem for a client of Nancy's will it all work out of is there more rejection to follow. There are twists and turns along the way and that is what makes this book a brilliant read. Maryann Jordan is an amazing author and writer and this book is a real page turner and you have to keep reading to see what would happen next. I definitely recommend you read this book and others by Maryann and you will definitely not be disappointed. I voluntarily reviewed an Arc copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this read which was more on the romance than suspense but that didn’t take away from the story as Nolan and Lynn made the book hard to resist. Nolan agrees to do a favor for his P.I. sister, Nancy, who happens to be best friends with Lynn. Nancy needs Lynn’s expertise as an accountant to dig into the financial affairs of one of her client’s husband. She needs Nolan’s SEAL expertise to get Lynn into the husband’s office and “look” for his accounts. First, they need to pretend to be a couple who want to get married to sneak into his wedding chapel. The paperwork is all ready for their rouse and all they have to do is get in and out....easy peasy....or not. A great read with steam, a bit of suspense and great characters. The story flowed beautifully and even though Nolan was a man wh***, he charmed me over. I loved the little drama between them that was not over the top or exaggerated, just the right amount to make Nolan’s gesture all the more worthwhile. The epilogue was perfect and had me smiling from ear to ear. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
What fun ! I love this author’s stories and this one did not disappoint. It was a perfect story anytime , but specially during stressful moments. Navy SEAL Nolan/Ringer Bell is laid up in his Mom’s home after an unexpected ruptured appendix forced him to take a medical leave. But men, special SEALs are not very patient, so when his PI sister needs help with a fraud case in a wedding chapel with less than stellar connections, he offers to help. PI Lynn Cox, a forensic accountant , is also drafted to help. She is also the one that has had a crush on him since childhood. A crush that apparently is still there. But they are determined to help Nancy. Their disguise: they act as an engaged couple . But somehow the fake marriage license isn’t. Or did Mom have a hand in this ? Hmm. Suffice is to say it was a delightful story with some suspense, but mostly, a story about family , new beginnings, and of course, romance. So sit back , get a fruity drink and enjoy another winner by this author. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I'm a sucker for a heartfelt romance with just enough spice in the sexy times and a dash of suspense. Maryann Jordan delivers in this sister's best friend romance between Navy SEAL, Nolan Bell & his younger sister's bestie, Lynn Cox.
Nolan is home recuperating from appendicitis and agrees to go undercover for his sis and investigate a wedding chapel. To assist him in the cover is a forensic accountant and he isn't sure what to think when he learns that it's Lynn Cox who used to have a crush on him when they were both teenagers. But Lynn has grown into a strikingly beautiful woman in the 12 years that he's been away in the Navy. Complications ensue when they accidentally get married while conducting their undercover investigation.
I really like both characters and the romance was terrific. I give this easily 5 stars.
Maryann Jordan always delivers an excellent story that surrounds delightful characters. Hot SEAL Undercover Groom was fun lighthearted and charming to read. There were just enough elements of suspense and hints of danger to make a captivating romance even more entertaining.
They say no good deed goes unpunished so when Nolan Bell agrees to do a favor for his P.I. sister, he has no idea what's in store for him. Paired with Lynn Cox, his sister's best friend and a woman he wanted when he was 18. The problem was that she was jail bait back then. For her part, Lynn had crushed on Nolan since she was a preteen hence pretending to be in love with him won't be a hardship. Now they're masquerading as a bride and groom in order to "get the goods" on a wedding chapel owner. Spending four days together has Nolan rethinking his priorities when it come to his career, love and marriage.
This was a super fun, fairly action packed book. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I laughed and of course did a little swooning because really, Nolan is absolutely swoon worthy! I admit I hadn't read any of the Hot Seal books before reading Undercover Groom but it had zero impact on my enjoyment of this book. Lynn has a had a crush on Nolan for her entire childhood, he is her best friends older brother. So really what could go wrong when you get paired with your childhood crush to pretend to be a couple getting married?? I enjoyed Lynn amd Nolan and tbought they for together perfectly. This was anogher great Maryann Jordan book with great writing and page turner you'd come to expect! Enjoy!
UNDERCOVER GROOM by Maryann Jordan. What a fun and light read! I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Nolan and Lynn help out Nolan's sister, Nancy, and pretend to be an engaged couple. What happens next had me swooning a bit! I am such a romantic and I actually envisioned myself in this story. There is a bit of danger, but the main focus of this tale is the romance. I adored both of these characters - Nolan, a big, bad SEAL on medical leave, is just the most sexy Hero. He is so sweet and tender when it comes to Lynn. And Lynn, despite being a successful businesswoman, had so many doubts about herself, that made her so likable and real. I loved when she would babble! I read this tale in one sitting because Ms. Jordan has a knack for taking the reader and enveloping them in the story. I smiled often, swooned a few times and even had a moment or two of heartbreak. UNDERCOVER GROOM is a wonderful addition to this series - SEALs In Paradise, all books written by different authors. Check this one out! (received ARC for honest review)
YES I LOVED IT....... I was hooked from beginning to end. Everything about this story is entertaining, fun, passionate with just the right amount of danger... Nolan Bell is just bored after being placed on medical leave from his Seal Team from a ruptured appendix. So that’s why he agrees to his sister Nancy’s crazy plan going under cover as a groom to catch a cheating, lying client. Lynn is a forensics accountant and her BFF Nancy hires her to find the evidence. Only problem, she has to pretend to be a bride and her undercover groom is the man who starred in all of her childhood fantasies. What could possibly go wrong? From the moment Nolan sees Lynn again, to all the kisses and touches and the steamy nights he knows he will never be the same? Can he let her go? What happens when they learn the truth about there present wedding? “I voluntarily received this arc book for an honest review”
Hot SEAL, Undercover Groom by Maryann Jordan takes us on a bit of an adventure with suspense and romance. Jordan always gives us a great story and this one didn’t disappoint.
Nolan “Ringer” Bell is on medical leave from the SEALs after having a ruptured appendix. After some complications he’s at his parents house recouping. His sister is a local PI and asks Nolan to help in a case. But what he didn’t know was he was going to have to team up with his sisters best friend, Lynn. Lynn has had a crush on Nolan since high school. So this is a bit of a sticky situation.
These two head to the Mountains as they go undercover as fiancés. But what they both were not expecting was for their feelings to start changing and for those feelings to start to get stronger. We read as these two who were just pretending for a job, end up finding their happily ever after.
Once I started this story I couldn’t put it down. It became all consuming and a story that left my heart very happy.
Highly recommended.
*I voluntarily reviewed this story with an advanced copy of this book provided by the author. All thoughts and opinions in this review are those of my own*
Nolan Ringer a.k.a Ringer to his Seal buddies is home in Tennesee recovering from a ruptured appendix. He is bored out of his mind and he still has a month or so before he can be medically cleared. This boredom leads him to help out his sister who is a P.I. Of course, there is a hitch. He is to partner with Lynn Cox who had a crush on him and kissed him years ago. The plan was easy but plans do not always go the way you plan them!
I enjoyed this book. Ms. Jordan's description of the Smokey Mountains and some of the towns along the way are brought to life in my mind's eye. I want to visit there now after reading a bit about the towns she describes. Ms. Jordan spends time developing her characters and they are always down to earth and relatable. I could identity with Lynn and her embarrassing kiss when she was 16. Ms. Jordan knows how to write a story that hooks you and keeps you glued to the pages.
This book was a lot more intense than I thought it would be. I was excited to start reading and fell in love with the characters quickly. It was a quirky and intriguing story. Nolan and Lynn had history and because of that when they’re thrown together to help out his sister fireworks begin. Throw in a seriously unusual assignment and you have the perfect story for just about anything to happen. It does to. They find themselves in the unusual predicament neither expected. Altho this is lighthearted in places the story becomes a bit more deadly than either predicted. I was hooked from the first page to the last. Loved it.
What’s a Navy Seal supposed to do when recuperating back at home from a ruptured appendix? That’s what Nolan “Ringer” Bell wants to know. Luckily his private investigator sister has the answer. Help her and forensic accountant Lynn Bell with a little problem. Pose as an engaged couple, visit a wedding chapel, get Lynn into the office to download financial records and get out without anyone knowing. Simple, right? Except for accidentally getting married for real! Trying and failing to fight their attraction to each other leads to passion and potential love until misunderstandings derail everything. Can they find their way through this? Another wonderful read from Maryann Jordan!
Undercover Groom was a sort of fun story that starts with a madcap idea, a pushy sister, a bored injured SEAL and a forensic accountant. From there things only get more complicated.
“Two worlds that had collided for an amazing night, but that was all they could ever be.”
The Hero was a bit different than other heroes that this author usually has in her books and that threw me off balance at first. Nolan had to learn from his mistakes, grow a little ...and grovel a lot!
“He acted like a stupid man who blabs and blames first and then thinks it all through...”
I loved Lynn. She has crushed on Nolan for as long as she could remember but She was determined to hold her head up and not be a doormat for any man.
“There’s no timeline on the heart.”
This story is part of the SEALs in Paradise series but each book can be read as a complete standalone. -5 Stars!-
Doing a job for her friend, Nancy, Lynn is blindsided by being paired with Nancy’s brother, Nolan to go undercover as an engaged couple seeking to get married at a wedding chapel in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Through a series of errors they end up legally married. Their clandestine mission brings about twists and turns that need to be solved. Keeps you reading from the first word to the last. Once again Maryann Jordan has written an intriguing tale that keeps you enthralled until the end. Received an ARC for an honest review.
Undercover Groom is a wonderfully sweet story of a SEAL who accidentally marries the woman who crushed on him as a teenager, when a simple mission goes wrong😱
I really enjoyed the premise of this story and this couple and I’m looking forward to reading a few more books in this series❣️
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was fun read from start to finish. To follow these two characters as they discovered their true feelings was an entertaining journey. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I received an ARC copy for my honest unbiased opinion.
Undercover Groom is one of those books you can't put down once you've started reading. The premise of the book is so original. Nolan, an active SEAL, is on medical leave due to a ruptured appendix followed by an infection. The h, Lynn, is his sister's BFF and had a huge crush on him as a teen. IMO, he noticed her too, but it wasn't the right time for them.
Fate steps in and brings them back together as they work on a case for Nolan's sister, Nancy, a private investigator. I so enjoyed watching Nolan and Lynn fall for each other. Of course, he had to be a man and almost cost them what they were building, but he quickly righted his wrong.
Want to know the rest of the story? #oneclick now. I give Undercover Groom 5 stars and highly recommend it. Congratulations, Maryann Jordan, on an another awesome book!
At home for a family wedding Nolan ends up recovering from emergency his sister needs help. So who is she going to call? Her brother the SEAL. She needs someone to go undercover to help out one of clients. After getting Nolan to sign up and calls her girl best friends since grade school. In come Lynn who has had a crush on Nolan for years. Together they work out a plan to get the job done but ends up married. This is the start of a rocky road, decisions to be made but not before a few more twists and turns. A great read.
I always look forward to a new Maryann Jordan book due to her relatable characters. I loved the way Nolan and Lynn had grown up together so didn’t need to go through a lot of the preliminaries, it was also why the time hadn’t been right for them until now and how do we manage without our mums? Banked attraction will have it’s way in the long run. Although an intrinsic part of Nolan’s character in the planning and protective side of things, his being a Seal was almost incidental as he was away from his team due to medical leave. I really enjoyed this book and received it as an ARC.
Maryann Jordan delivers a hit once again with a fun new story with lots of twists and turns. I could not put Undercover Groom down. What could go wrong when a PI’s brother and best friend go undercover to help her with her investigation? Lots of amusing situations. Undercover Groom also throws in a sweet, second chance romance. You’re going to love Nolan and Lynn. Will their insta-love fake weddings end up with real feelings? You’ll have to read and see.
I always look forward to a new Maryann Jordan books and this latest book did not disappoint. In Undercover Groom, Nolan is on medical leave after suffering a ruptured appendix. He is bored and misses being with his SEAL team. His sister Nancy asks him to help her with one of her P.I. cases. After hearing the details, he reluctantly agrees. Lynn, a forensic accountant and Nancy’s best friend, agrees to help on the investigation. Nolan and Lynn head to Gatlinburg to “get married” I order to investigate the chapel owner. Things do not go according to plan and from there the story moves forward with an unexpected plot twist. This story help me from start to finish! I received an authors copy and I have left an honest review.
Okay, not going to lie .. I thought, how the heck do you concoct a story about "accidentally" getting married and not realize that you were married? But, in true Maryann Jordan fashion .. she made it work. Nolan and Lynn's story was great to read. There was still an element of suspense but mainly on character development and how Lynn and Nolan figure out what they want in life. Is it each other? Is it their career? Is it both? Another 5 Star read *****
