Each new term at Blackbriar Academy is a new beginning—but this year, my new beginning could be the end of everything I love.
I’m settling into my new routine, and everything in my second year at Blackbriar seems great—until it is very suddenly not.
What’s supposed to be a fun school-wide trip ends up being a huge betrayal by my own flesh and blood. I barely escape with my life. Now I’m out for revenge. The bloody kind.
The Order is close—and they’re watching my every move.
They want the very magic that courses through my blood. They won’t stop until they have it all: my magic, my power, my meteorite. And they’ll kill anyone that stands in their way.
But I won’t go down without a fight. They don’t know who they’re messing with. And when I’m backed into a corner, I’m deadly.
They say blood is thicker than water. Whoever “they” are, they never met my family.
With my men by my side, I’ll fight until my last breath to keep what’s mine. And if they dare touch the ones I love—there will be a bloody reckoning.
I’m done playing nice. If the Order wants a war, I’ll give them one.

I enjoy Wren and her men. She finally gets Milo after some claiming issues from the new girl. That was actually amusing. What wasn't amusing was how the truth was revealed about her aunt. I thought this would have been a decent place to finish the story but luckily there is more to come.
This is the third book in this series. The plot thickens for exactly who is stalking Wren and what they want with her. She is determined to keep her family safe from this mysterious threat. Her control and mastery of her magic continues, as she works hard training with her men every day. But a betrayal hits close to home and nearly undoes her, and everyone around her.
I liked this book well enough, although not as much as the first book. We have reached the point in these academy books, at least for me, where the MFC inevitably gets on my last nerve. Wren spent nearly the entire book proclaiming that she can take care of herself, she doesn’t need her men to “babysit” her, blah blah blah. Yet, when two major fights occur, her first thought is “I just need to hold them off long enough for my men to get here.” Which is it babe? Sure, you have a lot of power, but maybe you should pay attention to those who have welded their own power longer than you and know more about what they’re doing. It was just grating to me after a while.
Wren and Milo finally do the dirty. I almost felt sorry for him. He seems so innocent, that I hate for him to get wrapped up in her harem. We were also introduced to a wouldbe nemesis, Agatha. She’s a first year who has taken quite a shine to our Milo, and Wren ain’t having it. She isn’t in the book much, so it’s not a major theme, just a diversion. Disappointing. Because I love the mean girl aspect that usually abounds in these academy books. And I find that I really miss that tension.
Gideon is still on the outskirts of this harem. He’s definitely attracted to her, but he won’t cross that line since he’s headmaster and she’s a student. Although he’s already crossed the line by kissing her. . . In the most delicious of ways. If there’s a pecking order in a harem, my boy Gideon would definitely be the alpha. Although Soren is a close second. That man, while moody, burns with hot passion and their sexual encounters are definitely way hotter than her dalliances with Milo and Jesse - though Jesse still holds my heart as my favorite. I totally get a BDSM vibe from Soren, and I’m totally down for that.
Even though our heroine is getting on my last nerve, I still recommend the series. World and character building are excellent, and the overarching storyline really reels you in. Yes, I am completely invested in these characters and can’t wait to see what happens next.
I am not even sure what to say at this point. I'm having an "oh no, this is Earth, isn't it?" moment. It is amazing how much Wren grew in this book. I really wish the the scene with the island that held the mage championships had lasted a bit longer. I really hope Wren gets to return there! I really want to say more, but my NEED to read the next book overpowers me. This book was amazing and I am so glad that Patricia was reduce to literally nothing! And the men... mmm... I can't even choose a favorite anymore. You know #whychoose right?
The plot thickens, just as entertaining as the first two books the plot and characters include old and new arrivals in a delightful set of twists and turns.

This book was great. I loved all the action and all of the hard work that she did to keep herself safe. Her Aunt was terrible and deserved everything that she got.

I eagerly read each of the Olivia Ash’s Blackbriar Academy series books when they came out. I simply adored this series. Since I somehow forgot to do reviews on the two prior books, I wanted to share some thoughts on all three.
I love everything about Blackbriar Academy. It’s a perfect setting for a fantastic academy reverse harem fantasy romance adventure series. I want to be Wren, as she’s just the sort of kick-a** and take no prisoners type of gal I wish I was, and her guys? Oh. Dear. Lord. I don’t know which one I prefer the mist but I do know that Soren, Gideon, Jesse, and Milo are one sweet package.
Following along as this gang deals with everything they get hit with in each book is one extended pleasure rush. I frankly don’t know how the author does it but somehow each book both gives you the same feel as the prior ones (a very good thing indeed) while still being incredibly imaginative and new. A neat trick indeed. The bottom line in these books is easy, and really the same for each: super exciting thrills and action plus great paranormal action in a wonderfully plotted and totally riveting story that well written and filled with well-crafted characters. What more could you possibly ask for?
Great book. Be sure to read the first two books before reading this one so you will know what is happening.
Wren and her men are in for a lot of trouble in this one. The Order is going all out to capture Wren and get her piece of meteorite. She is not the girl she used to be now that she has her men and her mage training, not to mention her awesome fighting skills. Aunt Patricia (or "Patty" as Jesse calls her) is going to do her best to get Wren's power for herself, but Wren is ready for her this time.
On the non-fighting side: Wren is getting to know her father again and he can be a hard task master when it comes to her training. Her guys are keeping all kinds of secrets from her and won't get that she hates surprises. I can't wait to see what comes next.
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
It just keeps getting better and better! Just when I thought Wren couldn't get any more bad ass, she blows my mind! Her powers are incredible and I can't wait to learn more about them. And finally, Wren and Milo seal the deal. I was really looking forward to that scene and it did not disappoint! 3 down and 1 to go...down, hehe. 😉 Hurry up already Gideon! What are you waiting for?? Wren to graduate? Probably, Lol. I know that scene is going to be unbelievable and I can't wait! I mean the kissing is awesome but I want more...and so does Wren! The rest of the stuff is pretty awesome too. The battle scene is stupendous! Wren and her men rock! This book is full of everything a great book should have, excitement, action, mystery, betrayal, sex and of course love. Way to go Olivia! Hurry up and write the next one already! Lol!
I liked the other two books in this series more, and I hope I like the next one more as well. This one started out so strong with the hope of the trials/games/what-have-you, but then the plot derailed to the family secret/drama/betrayal plot. That new plot was interesting, but it felt like two plots crammed together into one book with a weak bridge between them. Also, the first plot was dropped quickly, so I was disappointed.
There was a point in the middle where I just stopped reading this book and read a few other books in entirety instead. Eventually I did come back to it, so I still plan to read the next installment. It just completely bored me for some reason at about the midway point.
This is the third book in the Blackbriar Academy series and is full of quite dramatic scenes. With Aunt Patricia showing her true colours, the Order closing in and life getting tougher, can Savannah and her men help Wren remain safe and to protect her father, and can she get through another school year in one piece? A great read that I highly recommend to all fans of the series, of adult magic academy books, and of reverse harem romances, and I'm looking forward to the next book's release! NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions
In this third book, Wren is in her second year at the Blackbriar Academy. Her Aunt Patricia is determined to get Wren’s power for herself, but with Wren’s Mage training, she’s ready to take her on now. The Order watches her every move, waiting to move in to steal her power, magic, and the meteorite. The action is definitely picking up and the tension is rising! Can Savannah, Wren, and her men protect each other? Or is there too much coming at her?
This was an exciting read with a fast-paced story line and a build-up of tension as the power struggle gets nearer. Grab your copy and keep up with the action! You won’t want to miss it!
I really love how this series keeps me on the edge of my seat and keeps me guessing what's going to happen next!! I feel that Agatha chick is a little shady and will be a problem, but that's just a guess. Wren's story is captivating and I love how her character keeps growing and learning along with her men. I keep thinking the meteorite paired her with mates that would protect her and make her stronger or there is a prophecy about what's to come. Guess that is how my mind works with everything I read.
This series is progressing along perfectly. The characters continue to develop along with the relationships. As for relationships, it is nice to see the different personalities of the men with Wren. I also think Savannah needs a man or an harem of her own. I am glad this book answered some questions, particularly how she ended up with trolls. However, I would like to know why they wanted her and why they did not want to let her go.
When I first started this series Wren was like nails on a chalkboard. She was brash, immature, and annoying. She still has her moments but her relationships have truly grounded her. Milo...oh sweet Milo. Their growth together is everything you wanted it to be. Amazing series
This is an action packed, magic filled, sexy story of Wren Blackwood and her men during her second year at one of the most elite mage schools in the world, Blackbriar Academy.
Wren learns that family is more than blood deep in this tale. Family are those who share your heart.
The series is finally coming together as the boys get the girl, if you know what I mean. The villain is thwarted again for a short time and father is still on the run from the order. Finished? Not by a long shot. Power is growing, a war is coming to steal that power once and for all. Will evil triumph? Only the writer knows. Can't wait.
Wren is still the right mix of Kickass and submissive. She is great to read about. Those 4 men of hers, Wow!!! It is good to see how they care and support Wren through her journey. I love Savannah, now she is an I got the shovel to bury a body bestie. I am hopeful that the next installment in this series will not disappoint.
This is a great addition to the series. The best one yet. Good plot. Fantastic characters. The relationships and magic really grow in this book. Everyone needs a best friend like Savannah. I can't wait to see what happens next.
