Sexy Small Town Sheriff Tyson was everything I shouldn’t want in a man.But I did.
It wasn’t my fault I found the bossy lawman thing hot.
In my defence he kissed me first, I just…submitted.
We were all wrong for each other, but the thought of not seeing him again...
Impossible.
Somewhere along the way my enemy became something more.
He became my everything.
A reporter. Gorgeous. Stubborn. Mouthy.Ginger was everything I didn’t want in a woman.
Except she was fiery, and she didn’t give up.
She kissed like her mouth was made just for me.
She had a way of making me forget she was a nosey journalist.
Always out for a story, no matter the cost.
Ginger made me laugh, she was a thorn in my side.
She made me fall for her.
But can I trust her with my heart when I don’t know what she’s hiding from me?♥Each story in the Small Town Protectors Series is a steamy STANDALONE romance with a feel-good HEA.
Piper Sullivan is an old school romantic who enjoys reading romantic stories as much as she enjoys writing them. She spends her time day-dreaming of dashing heroes and the feisty women they love.
I was hoping for, and trying to enjoy a nice, relaxing romance. I ignored all signals of an impending Scooby Doo Mystery, hoping it wouldn’t materialize. No such luck. Small town sheriff meets reporter from LA, instant attraction, lots of chemistry and heat, should have been plenty. But nope. Bad guys invade this small town, bringing with them everything from vandalism to human trafficking. You know how it is. I stopped reading at the 75% when our reporter, h, has been shoved into a cage by the human traffickers. Scooby Doo is on the case. I wish ‘romance’ was enough for these would-be sleuths. Their ‘mystery/suspense/thriller’ nonsense is never good. Romance is good enough for fans of romance. A bad ‘mystery’ entertains no one.
It was good. The beginning was a bit slow for me. I haven't read any book prior to this so I didn't know anything about these matchmakers. So right from the start, the book is mentioning all these characters and I have no idea who they are and why they are being mentioning them. So it was hard for me to get into the story every time one of them were talked about.
I liked the chemistry between Ginger & Tyson but it wasn't always enough to keep me going. I usually love small town books with all of those fun & quirky characters but the only thing I liked about this book was the two characters and if they were going to get together. And that's all.
I liked the plot of this book, but the two main characters never clicked for me. Ty, the sheriff never believed Ginger, no matter what. Their were a lot of side characters and I had a hard time remembering who was who. What I really didn’t like was with all the conflict they had, in one chapter everything was resolved and they we’re getting married. Not a book I would recommend.
Oh those match makers of Tulip are at it again and they truly believe their push is just for the love that each Hometown Hero deserves. In this story we get Sheriff Tyson’s story and he believes he can stay off their radar until Ginger, a new resident of Tulip who is the local journalist of the Tulip Gazette has a few words with The Sheriff and it goes wrong drawing attention to them. Ginger tries to make changes to the local paper to save her job so she can keep her mom comfortable in the care she’s in back in CA. These two have one hot intense connection that they both ignore and when they come together it’s all about the sex and nothing else as the Sheriff is blind to what Ginger has to offer both professionally and personally. The Sheriff believes that Ginger is interfering in his job and with his past his intentions are to keep hurt and guilt to come for him again. Tyson is vey private and no one knows his past so his actions are not totally understood. Ginger keeps her head held high and goes about doing her job and passes her information onto Jackson a detective and it drives Tyson crazy. These two keep going at it and when Tyson goes too far does Ginger believe it’s time to move on from Tulip. When things quickly change for Ginger she deals with her life and Tyson need to decide if his feelings for Ginger are the ones of love to get her back! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
"Welcome to Tulip. Where it’s small, safe and weird as hell.”
Alright NOW, the meddling matchmakers of Tulip, are just showing OFF! They know how incendiary the connection that Tyson and Ginger have is, and they put them together, anyway! Tyson Henderson is the sheriff, in the small town of Tulip, and he isn't interested in having people speculating about his love life, all over town. Ginger Scanlan is new in town, and is single-handedly trying to save the Tulip Gazette, no thanks to her absentee boss. They each have their baggage and reasons to mistrust. Ginger is working two jobs, to pay for her mother's nursing care. Tyson and Ginger didn't have the time or inclination for the meddling matchmakes to work their magic. That's too bad. Too bad for Tyson and Ginger, because Eddy, Elizabeth, Betty and Helen don't really NEED their permission. I wonder how surprised all of these newly-formed love-matches are going to be, when the meddling matchmakers decide it's time for the couples to have BABIES? Oops! Did I say that out LOUD? "Cold Hearted Love," is part of the Home Town Hero series by Piper Sullivan, and you can expect drama, angst, witty banter, clever quips, humorous situations, plenty of heel-dragging, misunderstandings, steamy scenes, and sweltering romance. A delightful, engaging read. I received this book as an ARC from the author, and I volunteered this review.
Excellent romance with great characters 4.5 The story is well written and simple, but it was mostly the characters that I loved. Their attraction is as strong as their repulsion at the beginning. Ginger absolutely wants to remain independent, to investigate as a journalist and she does everything to annoy Tyson, the sheriff of their small town. He does not want her to put herself in danger because of the past he has with journalists, but also, he does not want to give in to this woman who annoys him greatly. However, day by day, as they work separately on the same survey, they cannot avoid each other constantly and the temperature rises. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
i really wanted to like this book, but i don’t. i felt like there were quite a few plot holes that just left me confused and kind of frustrated. there were no transitions between scenes, in one paragraph a character would be somewhere/doing something and then in the next paragraph the character would be somewhere else????? so that was just confusing and i found myself going back a few paragraphs to make sure i didn’t miss anything. lastly, i feel like this book ended too abruptly. like one minute the characters aren’t on good terms and then in the next chapter everything is resolved. the end. ????????????? i am confusion. where was the character development?????? so yeah, i didn’t really like this book.
A great read that had me totally in the middle of all that was happening in Tulip, Texas from the first word to the last with unforgettable characters and a beautifully written story that I just couldn't put down. I loved the attraction and undeniable chemistry between Tulip Gazette journalist Ginger Scanlan and Sheriff Tyson Henderson. The secondary characters especially the meddling matchmakers enhanced my reading enjoyment. Ms. Sullivan blew me away with "Cold Hearted Love" and now I'm looking forward to what happens next with the Hometown Heroes and the small town of Tulip. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Not Fred and Ginger, but these two sure danced around each other. Tyson and Ginger, both focused, both wanting to do the best job they can, clashed. It was fun watching these two dance and try to escape the matchmakers only to succumb. Tyson is a the police chief so of course there are crimes to solve. Ginger is a journalist so there are stories to write. Ms. Sullivan did a wonderful job creating another hometown hero story filled with drama and some steamy intimacy scenes. There were a few glitches in proofreading, no cheating or cliffhanger and the story ends on a happy note. Enjoy
Tyson is the sheriff in a small town who, because of his past does not like reporters. He also does not trust newcomers. Ginger is new-ish to town and quiet about her past which makes Tyson suspicious of her. Ginger is also a reporter and she is trying to keep the small town paper from shutting down; to do so she adds a police blotter and does some investigative reporting which causes tension between the H and h. He was very rude and did not trust her at all, it irked me.
I hate that it is part of a series but doesn’t tell you that. I have read all of these out of order by mistake. :-(
Have to agree with others that the ending ledt a lot to be desired as well as the incident in the garage.
Other than those two things it was a decent story.
I wish there was a clear reading order that includes all the Tulip based stories. The Home Town Heros and Home Town Protectors sets plus this one and I don't know which others, while techically a standalone arw based in the same town and same fenerl time period. Not having them ALL linked together is annoying and costs the author skme of my business because it is hard to figure out.
Cold Hearted Love By Piper Sullivan Main Characters: Tyson and Ginger I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author. 4 out of 5 stars Sheriff Tyson Henderson and Tulip Gazette journalist Ginger Scanlan are two great characters. Love all the matchmaking going on in the town of Tulip. This is a contemporary romance with a HEA ending. The only thing I would like to see is an epilogue maybe a year or so down the road. I will continue to read books by Ms. Sullivan.
This is such an unbelievably amazing story. I have always loved the town of Tulip since the first book and they just keep getting better. Tyson and Ginger are such strong personalities and I love how they didn't stop being who they are just because they had feelings for each other. I can't wait for more from this town and the wonderful people in it. Piper is a master of character development and creates such compelling storylines. She is beyond talented.
I thought this was a good book. I have struggled with several books lately not being able to keep my attention but this one did. I was a fan of the relationship between the Sheriff and Ginger. The only thing that kind of irked me, as silly as it is, was how many times "Ginger" was used instead of saying she or her. I always put myself in the book and if someone kept saying my name over and over again I would want to smack them. I don't know why that got to me but didn't change the fact that I enjoyed the banter and the hotness of the book.
This is is nice read. There is a lot of back and forth bickering action. It just didn’t seem real to me. I felt like I was just reading a story (which I am) but I want the connection to the characters. Feel eight along with them. This seemed to lack that for me.
I picked this up because that cover is amazing and I thought to try this author. I love the idea of the book. The Hometown Heros calendar and the Meddling Matchmakers. Should mean sexy men with side a craziness. Again. I didn’t get that from this book. Sorry. Not for me
The two main characters don’t really get along at first, but as the story progresses the reader can feel the tension and attraction under the surface. Tyson doesn’t trust Ginger & Ginger looks at Tyson as being an obstacle for her to overcome to get the story she needs to save her job at the paper where she works. In the end, Tyson comes to his senses, Ginger forgives him and they go off for their HEA. Piper Sullivan crafts an amusing and entertaining book that the reader just won’t want to put down until they have finished it.
Tyson doesn't want anything to do with journalists. Ginger is the new journalist in town and Tyson immediately has his heckles up. Ginger and Tyson dance around each other, they sleep together but Tyson stuffed up by doing a police check on Ginger. Then Gingers mother dies and she disappears. Tyson finds her at her mother's funeral. A brilliantly written story with excellent characters and a happy ending guaranteed. The only issue I have is the story finished rather abruptly, I would and loved to see it go on a bit more.
This was another book that I was hoping would hold my attention, but it just didn’t. Everything about it was okay, but I just never felt compelled to keep reading. It was predictable, slow on the uptake, and had your typical small-town busybodies. The main characters were likable, but not too unique. The enemies to lovers theme was more cute, than truly based in true animosity. The flow was a bit slow and choppy. Overall, it was just a cute, light-weight romantic comedy. Not for me, but writing was fine. I simply just wasn’t that into it.
I didn’t look to see what number book this was in her list of books, but this wasn’t piper Sullivan’s best work. This had to be an early book in her career because I’ve read some really good stories she’s written and it’s never been hard to get sucked into the story. There were lots of typos and some strange sequencing issues that should have been caught in her editing process. I liked the story, but the main characters back stories weren’t well written and the delivery was off because of that.
The Hometown Heroes never disappoint. Tyson is stubborn and sure of his opinion but eventually he realises his mistake and admits his feelings for Ginger. Ginger is new to town and a bit of mystery, she is a journalist and that is enough reason for Tyson to not trust her. These two have great chemistry and they ignite when they are together but it takes a frightening encounter and an emotional loss before they finally admit they should be together.
This time sheriff Tyson gets together with a journalist, Ginger. Both have secrets from their past that make them wary of each other. As they try to fight their attraction for each other, the utterly lovable meddling matchmakers, especially Tyson's grandmother Eddy have other ideas. As with all the previous couples in Tulip, these two don't stand a chance. Another fun, hot and steamy read. Read an ARC for an honest review.
Having read several stories by Ms. Sullivan, I can honestly say that this is one of my favorites. There was just something about Tyson that made me tingle. Ginger was a lucky lady...even if it did take a while to realize. Then again, any couple that the matchmakers in Tulip set their sights on should just go ahead and accept it.
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
The broody Sheriff of Tulip, falls under the spell of the vibrant and determined reporter, Ginger. This is another in the hero’s of the small town Tulip, series. Like the others it is a witty and playful story. These two butt heads as they each try to do their jobs. Their frustrations land them in the bedroom even when they declare they hate each other. The matchmakers continue to meddle which leads to all kinds of hilarious situations.
This book is okay, but it feels like we were out down in the middle of a serial that we haven't read before. There are references to other characters that feel as though we should have encountered them before. And the "hero" is pretty much a jerk for the entire book. He treated her like a booty call, and right up till the after like he couldn't stand her. I'm all for sparks and spice but this book left me cold.
Another couple of Hometown Hero's, Tyson the police chief and Ginger the journalist. Secrets and distrust abound because of past events. The Meddling Matchmakers of Tulip have set their sights on Tyson and Ginger, now it was how they would achieve their plan. "I've tasted your mouth....." said Tyson to Ginger. I received a copy in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
Ginger has moved to Tulip so she can work two jobs to support her mom and herself. She loves running the local paper and is trying hard to make it really take off. Tyson is the local sheriff. He’s tough and is used to running the town his way. What he isn’t prepared for is a spunky nosey journalist.
This time around it’s Tyson and Ginger’s turn. There’ve been some acts of vandalism and theft in Tulip and Ginger the journalist is tracking the story. Too bad the sheriff not only refuses to help her, he’s made it abundantly clear that he distrusts her. Will the heated exchanges turn into something combustible? If the the town matchmakers have their way it will.
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
