Dr. Melinda Emerson has had her fill of international intrigue. She’s eager to get back to work on a cure for Alzheimer’s, and a normal life with her boyfriend, Buck. But when her flight home from a conference in Houston is delayed, she rents a car and offers a ride to another stranded traveler, landing herself right back into the thick of danger.

Melinda is dragged to middle-of-nowhere Mexico by yet another Russian mobster where she tries to escape, but when he discovers his boss wants to get his hands on her for killing his brother, he’s more than happy to sell her for a profit. Meanwhile, Buck and his friends scour the Mexican desert in a frantic search to find her. They catch up in a public plaza in Mazatlán where Buck has to choose: Risk his honor and everything he’s worked for to save the woman he loves, or protect American interests and allow Mindy to be sold off to Russia where he can never follow.

Connections
Fast paced story about the wrong place and wrong time mixed with six degrees of separation. Buck and Mindy are as strong as ever and this shows even though they are not with each other for majority of the book. The connection to Russia and another series was interesting as it puts a hint of paranormal possibility into a science based characters. The ending was great and opened up the way for another fun action series. Good read!

Sweet or rough?
Oh! This book has everything! The usual danger, intrigue, action and adventure we expect from Buck and Mindy, the fantastic appearances from Wolf, Cookie, etc that we get as part of Susan Stoker's World but we also have a cross-over with the Brotherhood Protectors and Coyote from book 5, a crossover with Ms Madigan's series Komodo Security - which I cannot wait to read next- and the promise of a new spin off series from SWAK...Bothers in Arms Security- wahoo! I cannot wait, although at the end of this book it says book 1 Quick Fixx will be out October 2019...but so far I cannot find any trace of it...hoping we will get it soon please, please, please!
I am glad to see Buck and Mindy are back on track and hurtling towards a HEA, if Mindy doesn't steal Buck's thunder!
Loved it! Sad it is the last book in the SWAK series but excited for Komodo and Brothers in Arms series.

So Melinda has been at a big Alzheimers convention she's trying to get home and her plane has been delayed and now she wants to drive home against Bucks wishes. All goes well for a while but she gets kidnapped and thankfully Buck knows something is wrong and is bound and determined to find her. I really wasn't surprised to at what lengths he went to ... he is crazy about her and you can see it in all that he does. Once he and the team locate and rescue her I was surprised but how quickly they both make decisions and it was a good ending.

Mindy can't wait to get home to Buck. Buck can't wait for Mindy to come home so he can propose.
Mindy's plane is delayed. She decides to drive. She meets a lady named Cora who ends up riding with her. They have a flat tire then get kidnapped.
Buck is going out of his mind. He can't get a hold of Mindy and knows something is wrong.
Can Buck find her again?

I enjoyed this short story. I am usually not a fan of kidnapping stories. I enjoyed reading this and will need to read the others before it in the series. You even get a small hint of shifters in this story.

Good read
Buck had planned on asking Melinda to marry him, as soon as she got home from Houston. She never arrived and Buck knew she was in trouble. She had been kidnapped again. Could Buck get there in time? Can be save her again?

ENTERTAINING ADVENTURE
Buck is in love and been waiting for the right time to propose to his woman Dr. Melinda Emerson. While waiting for her to return from a trip, she is kidnapped. When he couldn't reach her, he goes all out for backup. A fast moving, intense rescue.
