Meet six of the most wickedly sinful earls in all of Regency England. Together they make up the Wicked Earls’ Club. A secret group, marked with a single golden W; it is a place where these deliciously devious earls can indulge in their darkest desires. Though fate may have something else planned for them entirely.
The Wicked Earls' Club (prologue)
The Earl of Sussex by Tammy Andresen Wickedly sinful, the Earl of Sussex, is an unrepentant rake. The Wicked Earls' Club is the perfect place for a man of his station to indulge. That is until his parents force a match that threatens to rob him of his freedom. Unwilling to be tamed, he travels to meet his bride and demand she put a stop to this farce. Except Lady Tabitha is nothing he expected, and everything he never knew he wanted. Too bad this fiery wallflower is equally bent on ending their engagement.
Earl of Westcliff by Meara Platt When Tynan Brayden, the Earl of Westcliff, rescues Abigail Croft from ruffians one dark night outside the Wicked Earls’ Club, he never expects his carefree life to be upended by this girl with big, brandy-colored eyes and a stubborn determination to save her reckless brother. He doesn’t know why he feels the possessive need to help her. Perhaps it is because she doesn’t ask for his help or seem to want anything from him. But this Wicked Earl wants more from her... nothing less than her heart.
Earl of Wainthrope by Collette Cameron Pierce, the Earl of Wainthorpe didn’t gamble on losing his heart when he won Bianca Salisbury at the gaming tables, but the shameful secret Bianca guards makes it impossible to love a rogue.
Earl of Sunderland by Aubrey Wynne He inherits the title of rake… She hides behind her independence… Fate accepts the challenge… Escaping his late brother’s memory, Lady Grace is a welcome distraction for Christopher Roker. But as the attraction grows, Kit wavers between his old military life and the lure of an exceptional but unwilling woman.
Earl of Basingstoke by Aileen Fish Lady Phoebe has created a fantasy version of her dream man, the Earl of Basingstoke, in her diary, and she ignores the gossip surrounding his wicked ways when he begins to pursue her. But when Basingstoke discovers Lady Phoebe’s diary, he blames her for creating the rumors and wants nothing more to do with her. Heartbroken, she goes in search of the real rumormonger. Can she prove her innocence and regain Basingstoke’s love?
Prologue This very short prequel sets the scene for the 12 Wicked Earl’s Club novellas which were released weekly. It tells of the beginning of the Earl’s Guild when it was first formed as a place Earls could make business deals in private. Over the years, it changed to one of debauchery rather than business. Once the Earls marry, they must leave the club membership. At the helm is the Earl of Coventry who is married & is basically the ‘father figure’ matchmaking caretaker of the club and treats the Earls like his sons & sees the good in them. This secret group, marked with a single golden W; it is a place where these deliciously devious earls can indulge in their darkest desires. Each of the novellas is written by a different author, this taster has whetted my appetite & I waited to read it until the first few novellas were released so that I could read them one after another so I’m glad they have been put together in two box sets
The Earl of Sussex by Tammy Andresen Wickedly sinful Luke Bentley the Earl of Sussex, is an unrepentant rake. The Wicked Earls' Club is the perfect place for a man of his station to indulge. That is until his parents force a match that threatens to rob him of his freedom. Unwilling to be tamed, he travels to meet his bride and demand she put a stop to this farce. Lady Tabitha, daughter of the Duke of Waverly, will not be betrothed to a rake no matter what her father thinks of his social connections. Tabbie is a wallflower more out of choice but is hurt that she’s been introduced to Luke twice but each time his roving eye was elsewhere. The pair agree that they need a plan to end the engagement but even as they form the plan they both are having second thoughts. Luke & Tabbie are delightful their characters are very well developed for a novella, there are trust issues that Tabbie needs to resolve, the pace is very good & I read it in one sitting. The Earl of Coventry is quite the matchmaker & I’m sure more about him will be revealed. My only quibble was that Luke as the heir to the Marquisette would not have had a seat in Parliament unless he was a elected MP. I thoroughly enjoyed the book
Earl of Westcliff by Meara Platt
When Tynan Brayden, the Earl of Westcliff, rescues Lady Abigail Croft from ruffians one dark night outside the Wicked Earls' Club, he never expects his carefree life to be upended by this girl with big, brandy-coloured eyes and a stubborn determination to save her brother Peter from his heroin addiction. He doesn't know why he feels the possessive need to help her. Lady Abigail Croft is at the end of her rope. The Earl of Westcliff's offer to help only complicates matters, for he is big as a gladiator and handsome as sin, and far too distracting. Oh I’m loving the Wicked Earl books, this is the second of the series & I’m totally hooked. The characters are very well portrayed & the pace of the story is good, so much so that I read it in an afternoon. A very engaging enjoyable book I look forward to more books about the Brayden siblings from the author
Earl of Wainthrope by Collette Cameron
Pierce Chamberlain, the Earl of Wainthorpe has finally thwarted Bertram Normand, Baron Fairfax. Except he can’t revel in his victory after winning his foe’s ward in a winner-takes-all wager. If Pierce refuses to assume Bianca Salisbury’s guardianship, the fiery-haired beauty with a matching temper may very well find herself sold to the highest bidder. Desperate to escape her blackguard cousin, Bianca Salisbury ventures to London to find a husband or employment. Instead, she’s bartered to a notorious rakehell. Oh this series just keeps getting better. Pierce is known as a rakehell, Bianca is a strong, level headed woman. Their attraction sizzles from their first encounter when Pierce is determined to wrest her from her cousin Fairfax. Their verbal spats are so very entertaining. Pierce is anything but the “Jaded, hardened, cynical uncaring” rake in fact he’s devoted to his 3 sisters & adored babies, he also is so caring of Bianca & his courtship is very endearing. I also liked it that characters from the author’s other books made an appearance.
Earl of Sunderland by Aubrey Wynne
Christopher Roker has been a soldier for years, shortly after Waterloo he receives a letter from his father telling him his elder twin Carson has broken his neck falling from his horse. So Kit is now the Earl of Sunderland. Kit returns home to find his widowed sister in law Julia is pregnant so he may be able to go back to being a soldier if she gives birth to a boy. Grace Beaumont has been the rock in the Beaumont household for five years since her mother died giving birth to Samuel. Grace finds she enjoys the freedom and power of her new status. Kit & Grace shared a dance at Carson & Julia’s wedding & they were both attracted to each other. Grace, her father & Sammy travel to Falsbury Castle to support Julia & there Kit & Grace meet again. Another lovely read in the Wicked Earls series, Kit & Grace are both strong characters but they are both caring & kind. They are immediately attracted to each other & whilst this attraction grows they also become very good friends whilst they fall in love. The other characters are also very well portrayed especially Sammy who is delightful & his enthusiasm helps heal the whole family. The author is new to me but after reading this I sought out more of her books
Earl of Basingstoke by Aileen Fish
Lady Phoebe Woodson puts all of her dreams into her secret diary. The hero in all of her tales is one Nathan Carruthers, Earl of Basingstoke. The rumours surrounding his wicked assignations are beyond anything she could dream of, and once enhanced by her wild imaginings, she’s created a lover no man could live up to. Basingstoke has ignored the rumours about his life, then he meets Phoebe. Misunderstandings & rumours threaten to destroy the budding romance. Another page turning lovely short read. I’m thoroughly enjoying the Wicked Earls Club & as quite a few of the stories are part of the authors .other series I’ve found plenty to read over the coming months Five lovely short stories, I love how the authors work together to make this series so good
The Earl of Sussex - Tammy Andresen Luke Bentley, Earl of Sussex, likes nothing better than to indulge himself in pleasures at the Wicked Earls Club. Imagine his dismay when his parents arrange a marriage for him in hopes of settling him down. To make matters worse, it’s to a chit he has no memory of ever meeting and wants nothing to do with him (something he has a hard time comprehending). Lady Tabitha has no desire to marry ever, much less to a man that has looked through her every time they’ve been introduced. Their first meeting, at least in Luke’s memory, surprises him with how much he likes this girl and admires her spirit. For Tabitha it confirms her opinion of him yet surprises her by how her body reacts to him. Playing on Luke’s reputation, Tabitha comes up with a plan for them both to avoid this marriage but will Luke play along? Will Tabitha realize what her heart is telling her before it’s too late? Tammy Andresen has done a fantastic job starting this series and if her book, the first in the Wicked Earls Club series, represents the ones to come then we better hold onto our hats (and our hearts) because this series promises to be an entertaining ride.
Earl of Westcliff by Meara Platt Tynan Brayden, Earl of Westcliff, spends his nights absorbed in the pleasures afforded him as a member of the Wicked Earls’ Club. Although lately he has become restless with his lifestyle and he’s not sure what to do about it. His answer comes in the form of a damsel in distress (but don’t tell her that); a damsel that is everything he is not. Tynan soon becomes beguiled by the headstrong, independent, loyal, and innocent damsel. Lady Abigail Croft has one surviving family member and she’s determined to save him from himself – no matter the danger to herself. Used to relying on no one other than herself, she’s both thrilled and dismayed when help comes along in the form of a handsome, wicked earl. Can Abigail accept his help without losing her heart? Or is she doomed to lose both her remaining family and her heart? WOW! I sat down to read Meara Platt’s Earl of Westcliff expecting to read it in my usual 2 – 3 day time frame. Well, 3 hours later I was reading “The End”. A heartwarming, gut wrenching story by the wonderful Ms. Platt. Tynan, the strong, handsome wicked Earl looking for more in his life; even though he’s not aware of it, and the strong, determined Abigail that gets under his skin and burrows her way into his heart….deep sigh.
Earl of Wainthorpe by Collette Cameron A wager gone wild sees Pierce, Earl of Wainthorpe, member of the Wicked Earls Club, with a beautiful woman as his ward. A man who flouts every convention the ton holds dear, must now decide how to handle this unexpected encumbrance without ruining her reputation. Ah, but will this encumbrance prove to be more challenging than anything he’s every done and will he lose his heart in the biggest wager of his life? Bianca Salisbury was taken in by her aunt and uncle when she lost her mother at an early age; now they’re gone, and she’s forced to rely on her odious cousin. Until he bets her in a card wager and loses to a notorious rake. With no where else to go she endeavors to make the best of a bad situation and to win a bet with the handsome rogue but what does she lose in the process. Collette Cameron continues to amaze me with her talented writing. Add Ms. Cameron’s wit, a trio of busybody sisters, and a push and very pregnant cat and you have a gem of a story.
Earl of Sunderland by Aubrey Wynne Christopher “Kit” Roker was a military man through and through. The order and discipline of the military suited him to a tee. The death of his twin throws Kit into the role of the Duke of Sunderland, at least until the birth of his brother’s child. The birth will determine whether he is in fact the Duke or simply the uncle of the Duke. This uncertainty has Kit at odds and ends; a feeling that does not sit well with his desire for order. Until a diversion arrives in the form of his sister-in-law’s beautiful cousin. Grace Beaumont has seen the devastation love can cause. After all, it cost her mother her life and thrust Grace into the role of “lady of the house” and mother to her newborn brother at a young age. Vowing to never marry, let alone give birth, Grace dedicates her life to the care of her father and young brother. At least until a would-be Duke enters her life. Can Grace help Kit find order in his uncertain future? Can Kit help Grace overcome her fear of love and convince her that love is worth the risk? Aubrey Wynne does an excellent job infusing her characters with many layers and depths of emotions. Kit’s restlessness jumped from the pages while Grace’s fear was palatable. All of which kept me glues to the pages until “The End”. Thank you, Ms. Wynne for an emotion packed story worth reading.
EARL OF SUSSEX BY TAMMY ANDRESEN - This first of 12 in the series by various favorite authors of mine is going to be fantastic if the rest are as good as Tammy Andresen's Earl of Sussex! Luke, Earl of Sussex's life as a rake is coming to an abrupt halt as his parents have found a match for him & marriage contracts only need signatures. However; Lady Tabitha, a Duke's daughter has ideas of how to sabotage this forced marriage. Neither Luke nor Tabbie want to get married & while the two the them scheme to ruin the plans for marriage, the two of them begin seeing one another in a different light. Will they marry & have a HEA? This was a great story with quick wit, fun play, romance & some spice for good measure! Read this, you won't be disappointed!
EARL OF WESTCLIFF BY MEARA PLATT - I loved this second book in the Wicked Earls Club series! Tynan Brayden, the Earl of Westcliff, rescues Lady Abigail Croft from being attacked by a group of street men in front of The Wicked Earls Club building. Abby is there in search of her brother who has been lured to the opium den next door to the Earl's Club. Abby has lost everyone in her family (parents & 3 brothers) & just can't lose her last brother. She is very grateful to the wicked rogue, Ty but does not ask for help from him after confessing her story. Ty feels drawn to help her (maybe because she wouldn't/didn't ask for help) & Abby finally accepts his help & knows she is quickly falling for him & must protect her heart - she has enough going on in her life. Abby upsets his carefree lifestyle & Ty finds he wants more from Abby, he wants her heart. Highly recommend this book - it has everything; lovely & smart Lady, handsome & brave Earl with humor, romance, gallantry & a HEA!
EARL OF WAINTHORPE BY COLLETTE CAMERON - I really enjoyed this story - those Wicked Earls have all lived up to their club name so far! Pierce, Earl of Wainthorpe, has the reputation of being a rake & rogue and lives up to his name in a "winner take all" wager with his foe - part of the wager is winning his foe's Ward, Bianca Salisbury’. The fire & ice between this couple is such fun & the sub-characters are so lovable (Pierce's 3 meddling sisters, Bianca's maid, Mr & Mrs. Digby). I love Collette Cameron's books & this was another winner, in my opinion.
EARL OF SUNDERLAND BY AUBREY WYNNE - I enjoyed this read - it was a very heartwarming, emotional (at times) & loving story. Christopher "Kit" Roker, Earl of Sunderland & Grace Beaumont were a great couple with loving & fun family. I did not enjoy this novella as much as the previous 3 but it was still a good, clean romance but lacked very much about the Wicked Earl's Club. These are all pretty much stand alone stories but I would suggest reading the Prologue to the Wicked Earl's Club Series (it's free) to familiarize yourself with the characters.
EARL OF BASINGSTOKE BY AILEEN FISH - I have really enjoyed Wicked Earl's Series & this 5th one was good but I personally felt that Nathan Carruthers, Earl of Basingstoke never demonstrated being wicked. Wicked Earl's Club didn't seem to really be much of a part of the series. Lady Phoebe Woodson has been in love/infatuated with Nathan since she was introduced to him 3 years ago & of course he doesn't remember her. Nathan decides it is time for a wife & is re-introduced to Phoebe & immediately becomes smitten with her. This is a clean (finally a kiss at the end), humorous. romance with engaging characters & a quick HEA.
Earl Of Wainthorpe by Collette Cameron was just wonderful! The Wicked Earl’s Club series has been written by 12 different authors and also this is the first book I have read of Collette’s…but it wont be the last, that is for sure. Collette writes in a way that you bond with the characters, her descriptions are so visual and the anticipation will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a stay up and read all night book. Trust me when I say you will not be able to put this book down. I also find Collette writing is quite witty and I love a book that makes me laugh. This book, as I said, has anticipation, gambling, neglectful relatives, trust issues, pride, a challenge, the love of a family, interfering sisters, intelligence, even a cat named Miss Millie and of course love. I highly recommend this book, you won't be disappointed. Go back in time to 1817 London with Pierce, The Earl of Wainthrope and Bianca Salisbury.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I found this a really good book. All 5 of these stories are quite different with various methods of bringing people together with Lord Coventry at the heart of most of the matches. A true romantic with a huge heart, he steers his Wicked Earl's in the right direction.
An introduction, if you will, to what has become known as the Wicked Earls Club. An introduction to the manager, Lord Coventry and what the purpose of a club such as this.
#1 Earl of Sussex
On second reading of this title, I was again engrossed by the penmanship of the writer. Yeah, it's a Regency Romance, but it also had characters with sass and attitude. I really enjoyed this book, again.
#2 Earl of Westcliff
Yes, the chemistry was there, as was the charismatic characters that made this such an enjoyable and heartwarming read. I highly recommend this series to you.
#3 Earl of Wainthorpe
He wanted revenge on the loathsome fellow playing cards with him. He would finally get it, but in the mix, he found an innocent had been thrown into the mix, and he had to now save her from this demented soul. However, in the end, it's difficult to ascertain whom saved whom.
#4 Earl of Sunderland
At a very tender age of 15, Grace was forced to endure the death of her mother, from childbirth, the dependency of both father and the new born brother. Her father fall headlong into melancholy, and that Grace to shoulder the baby and the running of the estate, until he finally came to his senses. Thus the thought of leaving "her men" to marry, was too much for Grace to contemplate. That was, until a certain young Lord came along, and healed both their hearts.
#5 Earl of Basingstoke
When a wicked earl decides to give up his wicked ways and settle to a married life, it may not be as easy as deciding to change. After all, the members of the Ton revel in gossip, and a handsome rouge is someone that thrills both the young and old women, with fantasy and dreams, none of which need have basis in fact and the truth.
These have a lot more steam than the stories with second chances at least the ones I have read so far and I absolutely was enthralled could not put it down! The heroes and lady heroines were fearless, feisty and lovely! Laugh out loud and want to thump someone on the forehead and then turn the page!
This was a brilliant introduction to the Wicked Earls Club. The strong male characters are excellent as are the female characters. The stories all have an element of hope in that the wicked Earl redeem themselves in the eyes of a special lady. I must read the rest. Excellent!
2 out of the 5 Books were OK & could have been written better. The other 3 were Absolutely Wonderful, Adorable & Sweet. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Earl of Sussex" by Tammy Andresen Tabitha & Luke's Journey to HEA was Absolutely Adorable, Wonderful & Sweet. I really enjoyed reading this Novella. Tabitha "Tabbie" & Luke's Journey to HEA was Absolutely Wonderful. This Book was cheeky & fun. Tabbie's Character was so Dang Adorable.
Luke a Rake & Scoundrel loves his life with the Wicked Earl's Club & doesn't wish to marriage, but his parents tell him they have arranged a marriage for him & he must go through with it. Tabbie doesn't want to marry the Rake who she's been introduced to a couple of times & he doesn't even look at her, he looks through her. Tabbie comes up with a scheme to end their Betrothal, yet Luke upon meeting Tabbie is so intrigued by her Impertinence he decided he didn't want the Betrothel to be cancelled. Although it was a short Novella it would have been a good Novel.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Earl of Westcliff" By Meara Platt. Abigail Croft "Abby" & Tynan Brayden sixth Earl of Westcliff. Their Journey to HEA was Romantic, Wonderful & a little heartbreaking. Abby's brother Peter being addicted to Opium had put Abby in a horrible position & caused her so much stress yet she stayed Strong & persistent. I am not sure I could have remained as strong as Abby. The only thing I would have loved to have learned was what happened to Peter after Tynan & Abby's wedding.
⭐⭐ "Earl of Wainthorpe" By Collette Cameron Bianca Salisbury & Pierce Chamberlain, the ninth Earl of Wainthorpe Story was OK. I was very disappointed. There was too much internal dialogue throughout the entire Story. I wished there were more people & places for them to visit involved. The Characters were not developed & between the 2 of them they sure didn't communicate with one another during their time together.
⭐⭐⭐ 'Earl of Sunderland' by Aubrey Wynne Grace Beaumont & Christopher Roker "Kit" Story was Good, it could have been better. The Wicked Earl's Club was not mentioned a lot in the Story. When it was, it only had some of the old & current Wicked Earl's. A clean Romance & a disappointing ending. I truly wished they would have been married at the end.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Earl of Basingstoke" by Aileen Fish Phoebe Woodson & Nathan Carruthers's. Basingstoke and Phoebe’s story was Absolutely Adorable. This was Another Clean Romance Novel. Wicked Earl decided 1 day he wants a Family & doesn't know how to go about finding a wife. Basingstoke sets off to Almack’s. After seeing his friends going into the card room he started after them then spots Her standing twisting her hair smiling at him & he is intrigued. He sets off to find Lady Sefton, one of the patronesses of Almack’s Assembly Rooms, so he can get introduced to the Beautiful brown haired girl who seemed to know him. Apparently they met 3 years prior & Phoebe was so smitten with Basingstoke she daydreamed about him & wrote in her Diary her imagination with Basingstoke but never used thier names she created Lord B & Lady P.W. Unfortunately, somehow somehow her words were being printed in the Gossip Column in the newspaper was printing Gossip about Lord B & Lady P.W. as she had written in her Diary. Between the Gossipmongers, Basingstoke's 1/2 Brother Benjamin (Who everyone assumes is his illegitimate son with a courtesan), Phoebe's father & Phoebe's indecisiveness, Basingstoke still wants to be with Phoebe. What is it going to take to get through this mess?
The twelve authors who got together for the Wicked Earl’s Club collection came up with a fantastic idea. Twelve separate stories written by individual authors all revolving around members of the Wicked Earl’s Club. If you haven’t read them this 6 book collection will get you started. Tammy Andresen does a good job of kicking off this collaboration of authors with her Earl of Sussex. A rogue meets his match in a bright, intelligent woman. In Meara Platt’s contribution Tynan, the Earl of Westcliff comes to the aid of a young women who is in danger of being accosted by some drunks. Tynan has already started the process of tiring of the drinking, gambling and womanizing. When he finds a reason to help someone else he steps up to the plate. Colette Cameron has done it again in her contribution the the Wicker Earl's Club collection. Peirce, the Earl of Wainthorpe is an outsider. Even though he came to England at the age of 8, his Indian mother would always be held against him by some members of the ton. The characters are well written, the story is heartwarming and you can't help but hope that these two outsiders get the Happily Ever After that they deserve. Earl of Sunderland – In the fourth book by Aubrey Wynne has done a great job with her characters, especially 5 year old Sammy who is an active, inquisitive boy. His character brings out the goodness and kindness in the other characters. After a scary scene near the end we finally see our couple get their happily ever after. In the fifth book Aileen Fish creates a character who writes her own fan fiction type story in her journal. In it, Phoebe imagines her life as the future bride of the Earl of Basingstoke. She writes little tidbits worthy of any gossip column. The characters are delightful, the conversation witty and the Happily Ever After satisfying. The Sixth book is another fun Wicked Earl story. I have not read anything by Anna St Clair before but this was a great way to get to know her. Two strangers, a forced marriage and a murder mystery all combine to create a fun love story. My favorite character in the whole book is Archie - the amazing talking parrot who saves the day.
This review is for Collette Cameron’s The Earl of Wainthorpe, which was a wonderful story. Pierce, the Earl of Wainthorpe, is determined to bankrupt and ruin Lord Fairfax, the man responsible for the death of Pierce’s mother. The last thing Pierce expects is the slimy lord to include his beautiful niece in the wager. When Pierce wins, he ends up with Bianca Salisbury as his ward. What is an earl to do with a beautiful, witty, strong-minded young woman as his ward? What is a woman to do when she doesn’t have many options but to deal with the rogue who won her? Sparks fly as Pierce and Bianca struggle with their painful pasts and face what they both see as potentially frightening futures. The Earl of Wainthorpe is a heartwarming and poignant story written by Collette Cameron; yet, her humor is found throughout the story. From the pregnant Miss Millie to Pierce’s three sisters, you will find yourself thoroughly enjoying this beautifully written story as Pierce and Bianca find their HEA.
Earl of Wainthorpe Bianca lives a life with an uncle who let's just say is less than charitable to her. Pierce has always loved his life for pleasure but not necessarily ready to want to settle down. Then he meets the unwanted by her uncle Bianca. Oh how life can change when you least expect it!!!!!
Great box set includes the first 5 novellas in the Wicked Earl's Club series. These are sweet short stories with each by a different author and about a different Earl from the club. A few have nothing more than a kiss, and others have a little more steam. I enjoyed this set, they all kept my interest and I look forward to the next box set in the series!
I was rapt in the stories that unfolded through this book. I had enjoyed stories written by each featured author, and was not dismayed by each tale which concluded with vigor and snap. They helped me thru a couple of months with a broken computer and gave me some laughter and cheerful joy.
I loved almost all the stories in the collection! Have to say my favorite was a toss-up between The Earl of Sussex and The Earl of Wainthrope! The last story was my least favorite but they all were extremely quick reads!
Overall this book is exceptional. I loved every book in this set and plan to read the rest of the series. I left individual reviews for each book after I finished each one. I highly recommend this series.
Although I didn't like the first one in this collection The Wicked Earls' Club (I downloaded it before, as a freebie, but it didn't improve upon a second reading), the other ones are cute 😉
