She had married thinking that life together would be forever. Why would she think any differently? All too quickly, she is learning that life was one where the man that she thought she had known was fast becoming a stranger. As the days turned into decades she found herself in a life where she had been and was living one way for Jesus Christ, while he had abandoned his relationship with Jesus that he had led her to believe he had. In its place she found a man whose life consisted of alcohol, adultery , abuse and lies. Therein, also abandoning the relationship with her and their family, while living in the same home. She lived her years in silence never telling anyone and sooner or later it would come for him to a point of his last destruction or repentance and turning to the Lord. There would have to be a choice and she had no idea what he would chose. She knew that in the decades of life that had made no sense, where confusion reigned and pain lied, where others had always been invited into her marriage and lately when she was gone, he had invited them into her bed. She had promised till death us do part, but he had had killed them a long time ago. She learned how church doesn't like the word divorce, yet won't talk about the other words either that are called abuse and adultery. She learned that she was called selfish for not stopping the divorce, yet no one asked what she had to say. Like a lamb led to slaughter, she continued in her silence. He had trained her well. Eventually, she finds her husband standing before her giving her a choice unlike anything she had heard before. In all of his sin, he didn't qualify to give her an ultimatum but he had given her one and one that she would need to answer immediately. As God led her through the wilderness for all those years, the story she shares is one of life where Jesus reigns and protects her, leading her through in His love and faithfulness while destruction pours out around her. It is her story of His love, freedom and redemption in Christ.

A powerful story of abuse and survival!

Through the author’s unique writing style, the reader is presented with a clear picture of domestic abuse. As the author writes from her personal experiences, we learn what goes on inside the narcissistic mind of the abuser, and the impact on the victim. A riveting story, this book focuses on the power of a strong faith and trust in God as the means to survive decades in a toxic relationship. The story is emotional and moving, and will no doubt impart inspiration to countless victims who can identify with the situation. I found the book hard to put down and read it in two days. Highly recommend.
