Vanessa will fight to rescue her sister. Caleb will fight to protect Vanessa. But Abbas has evil plans for them all.

Former human trafficking victim Vanessa Baker wants nothing more than to raise her daughter in safety. But when she learns that her sister, Nadia, is in trouble, Vanessa can't ignore it. Nadia's captor is a man who once owned and abused Vanessa, and she'll risk everything to see her sister freed.

Soon after Vanessa stepped into Caleb Peterson's life, he knew she was the one God intended him to marry. Never mind that she loathes him, never mind her accusing eyes and her angry disposition, Caleb has tried for years to prove himself trustworthy—efforts Vanessa has only spurned and rejected. When he discovers her plan to take on an evil man from her past, Caleb will help her, whether she wants his help or not.

But Vanessa has once again put herself squarely in Abbas’s sights. And it looks like he won’t let anyone—not the irritating sister or the pushy boyfriend—get in the way of his plans.

Robin Patchen is a USA Today bestselling and award-winning author of Christian romantic suspense. She grew up in a small town in New Hampshire, the setting of her Nutfield Saga books, and then headed to Boston to earn a journalism degree. After college, working in marketing and public relations, she discovered how much she loathed the nine-to-five ball-and-chain. After relocating to the Southwest, she started writing her first novel while she homeschooled her three children. The novel was dreadful, but her passion for storytelling didn’t wane. Thankfully, as her children grew, so did her writing ability. Now that her kids are adults, she has more time to play with the lives of fictional heroes and heroines, wreaking havoc and working magic to give her characters happy endings. When she’s not writing, she’s editing or reading, proving most of her life revolves around the twenty-six letters of the alphabet. I am sad that this is the end of the novels in quaint Nutfield, New Hampshire. It's a charming town full of loving people. In Legacy Redeemed Serbian immigrant Vanessa was the victim of human trafficking from a young age and has difficulty trusting any man. In conflict with this, Christian Caleb clearly heard God tell him two years prior that Vanessa was to be his bride. Her distrust is a large gap to bridge. I especially loved the proposal at the end. Vanessa certainly had the love of Christ in her heart to forgive as she did in the final pages.

Human trafficking is a serious and heavy subject. The author did a nice job of inserting Vanessa's misuse of English idioms into the novel to create a bit of humor.

While I will miss Nutfield, I look forward to a new series that will also be set in New Hampshire.

My gratitude to the author for a complimentary copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

LEGACY REDEEMED, by Robin Patchen, is a wonderful addition to the stories of those who live in Nutfield. If you've read the other books in this series, you will recognize the people, but the book is a standalone that can be read without feeling there are gaps in the story from not having read the previous books. This book did a wonderful job of mixing suspense, romance, and the salvation message. I highly recommend it! (I received a copy of this book with no expectation of a positive review. The comments above are my honest opinion.)

This is the last installment of the Nutfield Saga series and it doesn't hold back any tension, thrills, or the yin and yang of relationships.

While reading this book I felt the exhilaration Vanessa felt as she grew in her faith and learned to trust. Concern that Caleb experienced in some tense moments was captured in the pages quite well. And, what a storyline!

I had to finish it in a couple of days, I was too impatient to wait to see how it ended. Robin Patchen closed the series with a lightning-fast read. What a finale!

I received this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post nor write a review.

This is the last in the series and a beautiful story of redemption and restoration. In God’s wonderful plan for healing Vanessa! he has prepared a very patient young man willing to wait for her. I have to admit it was difficult to realize the difficult life she lived and the deep wounds Vanessa suffered. Yet it was a beautiful message of Gods great love and grace He was so generously extending to her. Book has so many wonderful characters which show the value of Christian friends and it is also has a fast paced plot. I loved this book and am sad that this is the last visit to this special place and special people but I’m sure that Robin has new places and people just waiting to be discovered.

If a book is written by an author that I love I will not read the back of the book. That is what happened with this one. I have loved each of Robin Patchen’s books so I didn’t read the descriptive info ahead of time. Boy, was I happy surprised to find Vanessa as the main character! I was intrigued with her story in previous books. She’s such a complex mix of caring and guarded.

Vanessa has not only a dangerous enemy to deal with in this story but also must do some personal growth if she wants to move on with her life and give her daughter the future she desires for them. I love to see people grow in the book! She has much to overcome.

Caleb is a wonderful addition and the kind of man that Vanessa can love. As they wade through it all, I was cheering them on and sad whenever her walls came between them.

Robin weaves God unto her storylines in such a perfect way. Never preachy. You don’t feel that she’s telling a story just to push her views or an agenda. I so appreciate that. It’s just life and so well done.

The subject of human trafficking is one that does not get nearly enough attention. Robin writes it well, opening our eyes to so much that we may not see or normally be exposed to.

I highly recommend this book! I received an advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion and here it is: great story! Well worth the read and even one that SHOULD be read.

I have enjoyed all of the books by Robin Patchen set in Nutfield, New Hampshire. The characters in this story dealt with some huge challenges, just as the characters of the previous books. I cannot imagine living as Vanessa did, fearing every day of my life that a person who had done me serious harm and mental anguish would somehow find me and do the same things to my daughter that he had done to me. As a matter of fact, I cannot imagine living as she had to do before she was ever introduced into the series. Most of us live nice lives with nice people and never see the underbelly of the dregs of society. I know of no other way to describe people like Abbas, the man who had committed so much evil against Vanessa and many others, and even now was ready to do the same, or worse, to Vanessa’s young daughter and to Nadia, Vanessa’s sister. One has to ask the question: how could Caleb put himself in so much danger for a woman who seemed to despise him one minute and only barely tolerate him the next? What kind of man does that? I am going to miss reading about the people of Nutfield, several who have become almost like trusted friends. Having been through troubles and trials of their own, they were a great complement to this story as they sought to help in every way possible. I think it would be great to live in a place like that where people knew each other and were ready to help. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

WOW! I think this is my favorite in the series so far! I couldn't put the book down! As Vanessa, sold as a child by her father, becoming a victim of human trafficking is struggling to make a life for she and her daughter, Caleb is trying to maintain his patience. Why in the world would God tell him 2 years ago that Vanessa would be his bride when she can't even stand him? He wonders this often! But everything quickly changes when Vanessa's past comes crashing into her present and danger and evil threatens her family. Her sister is in extreme danger, and she needs help but doesn't realize it. Is this Caleb's opportunity to befriend Vanessa? So much action, twists and turns! It was fun to read about some of the other characters previously mentioned in this series. The dialogue between Vanesssa and Caleb was often humorous. Ms. Patchen wrote in such a way that the characters come to life, and their stories become real. How healing forgiveness is. . .the book's ending was true evidence of what love and forgiveness can do. I highly recommend this clean suspenseful romance--as well as the entire series! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.

Ms. Patchen has given us one of the most amazing endings to a series that I have ever read. But believe me it is not because she has written about something trivial. This story deals with a very difficult subject that may bother some readers. It is a problem that is affecting our whole world and we can't turn a blind eye to it. We must do what we can for the victims and the most important is to pray for God to reach them. Vanessa's story is heartbreaking and she has many issues. Caleb, poor boy can't believe what God tells him about her. This story has lots of suspense with parts that will really grab you. It also has romance, or maybe I should say love, because it is only through the love of God, that He puts in us that we can reach out to others. I'm really going to miss the gang from Nutfield, we have been getting to know them all for quite a while. I know that we can trust this author to give us some wonderful new characters and lots of suspense, can hardly wait for more!
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is totally my own honest opinion of a book I really enjoyed.

Each book in Patchen's Nutfield Saga has provided a wonderful reading experience. The suspense stories are both fresh and intense. The town of Nutfield, New Hampshire becomes one readers will want to visit, and the characters ones they will want to meet. Legacy Redeemed continues the saga with the same high quality writing. I recommend this author whenever asked about my favorite mystery and suspense writers.

Legacy Redeemed revisits the theme of human trafficking, highlighting the deep woulds inflicted on the hearts and souls of children, the desperation of families in poverty, and the amazing healing that the Spirit of God can bring. Patchen skillfully portrays the evil without infringing on the boundaries of Christian fiction. She displays the hearts of the victims without diminishing their humanity. She does this while weaving a tale of suspense that grips her readers' attention, and holds it fast. I am grateful to have received a copy of Legacy Redeemed from the author. I was under no obligation to write a positive review, and received no monetary compensation. A opinions stated here are my own.

Another great read by Robin Patchen. This is the final book in the Nutfield Saga. Even though it is probably best if you read these books in order, I don't think you have to. There are a few in this series that I still have to go back and read. I have to admit, though, this book took me a little longer to get into than Robin Patchen's other books. But once I got into it, it was hard to put down! I definitely recommend this book and all of Robin Patchen's books if you enjoy good, clean, suspense with a little romance thrown in!

Legacy Redeemed was another great journey back to Nutfield. Revisiting old friends in this story felt like coming back to my hometown after being away. I hate to see this series end, but look forward to the next.

What would you do if you felt like God told you the person who would be your spouse was someone who didn’t even like you? Caleb wrestles with this question, even as he is called on to help Vanessa. He is patient, loving, and full of faith even when she rejects him at every turn.

Vanessa’s back story was difficult. She doesn’t trust people easily, especially men. As she learns to truly trust God, can she trust Caleb as well? This story is a a reflection of God’s redeeming love and power to restore.

I was given an ARC by the author. This is my honest review.
I highly recommend this book!

Incredibly moving story of redemption and renewal. If the beauty of a live that doesn't let go. Although it tackled one of the most difficult subjects, it was done with such a strong message of hope. God is truly able to and will make all things new. So happy Vanessa got her happy ending. Sad to see this series end, I've so enjoyed every single book!

Vanessa escaped a truly desperate and degrading life as sex slave and moves to Nutfield with her young daughter. This is a story of growth, forgiveness and belief in God's grace. Caleb has learned patience while getting to know Vanessa and helps her get her sister away from her abuser.

Caleb and Vanessa's story is full of intrigue, action, romance and faith. As Caleb tries to protect Vanessa, her daughter and sister from the worst kind of evil from her past they learn to trust each other and the plan the Lord has for their lives. Another hit for Robin.

Robin Patchen has hit another one out of the park! I think I say this after every one of her new books, but I think this one is my favorite. This is book 4 of the Legacy series, or book 11 of the Nutfield saga (made up of the Hidden Truth series, the Beauty series and the Legacy series), but it can definitely stand alone as the author gives enough history that you won't be lost. However, if you do plan to read Ms. Patchen's backlist after this, you will want to read "Innocent Lies" first as this book has a lot of spoilers for that particular story-line. Fans of the series will be glad to see Vanessa (who was introduced in "Innocent Lies" and has made cameos in several other books) get her own story. To learn more of her history and see some of the in-between steps was so good! And it was good to see her get her "happily ever after" (pretty sure that's not a spoiler alert).

This book follows Vanessa, as she gets a call from her sister Nadia whom she hasn't seen in 16 years. Nadia is in danger unawares and Vanessa feels strongly that she needs to step in. Caleb Peterson, a member of the board of the food bank she manages offers to help out and the 2 of them seek to bring Nadia back with them - out of danger. Vanessa's history makes it difficult for her to trust and the author demonstrates that sublimely. Even though Vanessa and Caleb have 2 years of history working together and attending the same church, being in the same circles, she has not lowered her defenses for him or any man. The methods he uses to get behind her walls are nothing less than swoon-worthy. I loved their interactions and the banter. One thing I didn't realize until reading this book was how many cliche phrases we use in the English language that actually don't make real sense. As Vanessa's first language is Serbian, she's often confused by these phrases (such as "2 peas in a pod"), which added a great deal of humor to the book. I also enjoyed seeing Vanessa relate to her sister and to her young daughter. In addition to the great relationships, this one is filled with character growth. Caleb must learn patience. Vanessa must learn her own value. And Nadia must learn to be an adult. As for the suspense element, this book was un-put-down-able. The plot had so many twists and turns (though not super intense till the last quarter), you didn't know what was going to happen next. When I was at 90%, I still didn't know how the "happily ever after" was going to happen. And of course, there was a solid faith thread. I loved how the characters learned to rely on God, even when it was difficult to see how He would make a way.

One caution I would add - while it does not go into great detail, at one point in the story, Vanessa recounts her story of how she was trafficked as a young girl. Even though the details are clean and not excessive, I think it could trigger someone who'd had a similar experience. The scene was done with grace and compassion, but I would still caution someone who is triggered by those types of scenarios as it was powerful enough to move me to tears.

This book had all the right elements, with a good balance between romance, suspense and character development. It made me laugh and cry and feel ALL the feelings. As I said early on, I think it's a new favorite! I would strongly recommend to fans of Christian romantic suspense. Special thanks to the author for an advanced e-copy of this book. I was under no obligation to write a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

What a way to end a series !!!!

True to this author’s style, this is another page turner, another plot line that keeps you on edge. Once again, Robin Patchen weaves suspense and romance together without all the filler scenes of bedroom antics or cursing. She concentrates on the plot line to keep the reader intrigued. And wow, intriguing it is.

Vanessa has stared evil in the face and doesn’t hesitate to go after him … yes, I said him. Abbas is cruel and not about to allow Vanessa to interfere in this agenda. Ahhhh, but Vanessa is strong in mind, determined in spirit and refuses to give up. Abbas now has her sister, Nadia, and that is something that Vanessa simply won’t back away from. She’ll do whatever it takes to free Nadia from the clutches of Abbas. The only problem is, Abbas has even more sinister, despotic plans for Vanessa too.

However, Vanessa, herself a past victim of human trafficking, has someone powerful on her side. And yes, Caleb Peterson is powerful in his own right because his love for Vanessa comes from a power from above. Caleb knows G_d brought them together …. and Abbas may look like he’s winning the battle …. but the battle is a far cry from the war. Light vs darkness …. once light enters a dark room, that darkness is weakened. Here, Abbas is the dark. He’s a ruthless man who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. But Vanessa has the LIGHT penetrating. Soooo, can the dark Abbas really win? There is a time and a season for everything. It’s time for Abbas’ to see some truth.

👁OBSERVATIONS:

😱 There will be really scary moments, as the pages you read are raw and gritty.

😇 Make sure you follow the character development. It will help you see and find the clues within the pages. And this being the last of the Nutfield saga, everything and everyone finds their place.

😘 And yes, there is forgiveness and love.

🤔 I’ve said this before, but I always keep wondering how on earth this author can follow up with a better book. Well, maybe better is the wrong word. It just seems that perfection is hard to improve upon. But, Robin always seems to bring that same grit and hope to everything she writes.

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It is definitely one of the best books I've read in quite awhile, and I read every single day. Very well written, believable characters, and with a strong message of Christianity. The characters who claimed God, lived it out.
Vanessa, former child trafficking victim has escaped from that life and is living in the town of Nutfield that she loves, and is raising her young daughter in. She wants nothing more than to live in peace and to protect her daughter. She was sold by her father at the young age of ten and lived an unspeakable horrific life for many years.
Now, her younger sister, Nadia, has contacted her. She is bubbly over the man in her life, Abbas. The very name strikes terror in Vanessa's heart for this is the man whom once owned her. She knows he is only using Nadia, and will become the true monster that he is. She is determined to rescue her sister, but how can she get the silly young woman to listen to and believe her? She believes herself to be in love with Abbas, and he with her.
Then, there's Caleb. God revealed to him two years earlier that Vanessa was to be his wife. How can that be? Vanessa can barely tolerate Caleb. She is very skittish with men. She won't allow any man near her young daughter. But, Caleb knows God has a purpose and he waits patiently.
Beautiful story of redemption. I would give ten stars if possible.

Legacy Redeemed is the final installment in this series by Robin Patchen. We met Vanessa earlier but this is her story. Vanessa and Caleb are characters whose lives seem so normal. He owns the grocery store in Nutfield, NH and Vanessa manages the food pantry and has a sweet daughter, Katarina. They have mutual friends and attend the same church. But Vanessa’s life has been anything but ordinary as she was sold as a young Serbian girl into sexual slavery. She escaped, came to faith in Christ, but fear dogs her. Caleb would like to cultivate a relationship with Vanessa but the wall she has built around herself and her protectiveness of Kat both draws yet repels him. She discovers her sister, Nadia, whom she hasn’t seen since she was a little girl, is in the US but under the spell of the very man, Abbas, that was Vanessa’s abuser for many years. He lost her to another man in a game but she had stolen a piece of his jewelry to hopefully fund an escape. Now he wants revenge and her life. Together, Caleb and Vanessa seek to find a way to remove Nadia from Abbas, even as Vanessa slowly begins to trust Caleb and Caleb learns the truth of the trauma she has experienced and why she has built her walls. A story of the realities of our day, the redemptive faith found in Christ, true freedom and the power of forgiveness. I received a complimentary ARC of this book, but the opinions expressed herein are my own.

There is no such thing as a good man – only evil ones!

Vanessa loves her little house in Nutfield, New Hampshire even if it is tiny and not furnished with expensive items. She and her daughter Kat have a good life now but Vanessa is ruled by the fear and suspicions that govern her life. She knows the evil of men and will never let it touch her daughter or herself again. But the evil is still stalking her, using her younger sister to pull her in, and is determined to destroy everyone she loves. Only God can save and protect her now. She has to accept the help of Caleb, a good man but a man nonetheless, and all men are evil in her mind.

Caleb has known Vanessa for several years and has never met a woman more determined to dislike him. She is beautiful but prickly and although their mutual friends encourage him to have patience it is hard for him to see his place in her life that God has assured him is there.

This book really took me on an emotional roller coaster. Vanessa had so much to overcome if she was going to find happiness because of her childhood experiences. My hopes would soar and then would plummet sometimes within a page or two. This is another excellent book in the Legacy series. I am sorry to see this series come to a close with this book. If you haven’t read the other books in the series I definitely recommend all of them.

Legacy Redeemed By Robin Patchen is an amazing ending to the Nutfield Sage. It’s so good to finally read Vanessa’s story and what a story she has to share with us. Vanessa is a surviver of human trafficking which is one of the most unspeakable abuses that no one should ever endure ever, but unfortunately many do. Vanessa has popped up here and there through out the Nutfield Sage. Vanessa heads up the local food bank in Nutfield. Caleb is on the board of directors for the local food bank. Vanessa is raising her daughter Kat alone. Vanessa doesn’t trust men especially around her daughter. Vanessa loathes Caleb so you could imagine how Caleb felt when God said Vanessa was to be his bride. Caleb is facing the biggest challenge of his life. Caleb and Vanessa are thrown together to save/free Vanessa’s sister Nadia. Nadia is clueless that her boyfriend Abbas is an evil man. Nadia doesn’t believe Vanessa when she tells her how evil, abusive, manipulative Abbas is. All 4 (Caleb, Vanessa, Kat and Nadia) are in the race of there lives against one of the most evil, wealthiest, untouchable man ever. This book is a thrilling page turning adventure with many twist and turns along with many ups and downs. Hang on until the end and you won’t be disappointed. It’s sad to read the end of the Nutfield Sage, but I’m so looking forward to the next series/sage that Robin has in-store for us.

Be prepared to remain seated unless there is an emergency as you won’t want to take your eyes off this book for a moment, in fear of missing something! The author has once again done a fabulous job of drawing you in and not letting go until you reach that last period. The topics touched on in this last book of the Nutfield Saga are just detailed enough for the reader to understand what Vanessa has overcome with the help of the Lord. I wonder whether any of us could ever learn to trust having gone through the same experiences - only through the strength that God gives when we learn to trust in HIm.

There is plenty of tension, suspense and danger to keep you wondering if this can possibly end well. I loved how the one who felt so unworthy was surrounded by those who believed her to be a priceless daughter of the King. For Vanessa, learning to have faith in God meant she also needed to forgive herself and trust those who cared about her. What a wonderful story of the changes salvation can make!

This ARC was received through JDO Publishing. The comments and impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.

Legacy Redeemed by Robin Patchen
The Legacy Series Book Four
Caleb Peterson was learning to be a very patient man. For two years, he's been trying to get Vanessa Baker to notice him, talk to him, go to prayer meetings with him. To no avail. And yet, he felt very strongly about winning her heart. So, he'd persisted. When she needed help, he stepped up to be there for her. He didn't know how to get around her walls...or why she had them up.

Vanessa Baker's main focus was to keep her daughter safe. Katarina, or Kat as she called her, was everything to her, and she would give her life to save her from danger. From men. God seemed to tell her to trust Caleb, but how could she? He was a man, and in her mind, all men were evil.

Another intriguing romance that, for me, had tears flowing and pages turning to see what would happen next. Robin's stories are written so well. Fiction with a lot of real-life in them. Issues that are hard to believe are happening. Stories to enjoy, watch love happen but also gives the reader knowledge of real-life problems.

"Legacy Redeemed" is the fourth book in the series. I think that I would have gotten a better understanding of what was going on if I had read the first two books in the series (I did read the 3rd book). This book deals with the after effects of human trafficking. I think that Robin Patchen dealt with the issue very well and realistically (I imagine, not having first hand experience with this issue). I liked Caleb and his reliability and determination. Vanessa was harder to like with her constant worry and untrusting ways (I totally get why she was that way, it just made it harder to like her). Katarina was a fun addition to the storyline. There was a biblical faith thread throughout the book and the characters sensed God's leading in their lives. I was surprised by some of the things that happened in the book. I look forward to reading more of Robin Patchen's books.

I got a free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and given voluntarily. No compensation was received for my review.
