After a disastrous battle against the top mages of the Royal Academy, Chaos finds herself separated from her beloved dark elf Kamii and stranded in the middle of a desert with the fallen angel Hestia. It's the beginning of an arduous odyssey, as two geographically challenged girls have to navigate a nation that doesn't speak their language, perpetuates slavery, and lacks all basic magical appliances - including interactive maps.
Even though the high school girl turned Cosmic Horror is formidable, she is tested time and again in this journey forced upon her by her own mistakes. Chaos makes unlikely allies and meets powerful enemies that challenge both her physically impossible body as well as the inscrutable depths of her mind. And when a person from her past appears before her, she learns new truths about herself.
Starchild Crusaders is the third volume of the Demon Princess Magical Chaos series. It continues the story of the quirky Crawling Chaos and takes her to foreign and vibrant new places, on a journey across the sands as she single-mindedly crusades toward her goal of reuniting with her lovers on the other side of the world.
CONTENT WARNING: Gore, Traumatizing Content, Explicit Sexual Content
After being literally banished from the academy, Chaos must find a way to get back. The starting point is a desert, with only the fallen angel by her side. Here we see her traverse the nation, eat the local delicacy, and encounter interesting characters from orphans, slave brothels, mapmakers and god of perversion, don't forget the local crook turned travel guide. Chloe's wish is pretty simple, find the nearest transportation circle, get back to her dear friends (/harem), and make sweet tender loving. Anyone who stands in her way... um, well... becomes a stomach filler.
The adventure continues. I really enjoyed this book. I found it difficult to put down once I started reading. The story and characters were intriguing and engaging. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth reading.
Awesome series unlike any I've read. Each volume is a continuation of the last, so you'll be lost if you started here. Check out volume one if you don't like it, then you won't like any of the others.
Inconsistent writing and too much telling. I get that the author wants to remind us about what happened in the previous book, but the way the prose lingered on justifying or explaining the characters’ inner opinions and thoughts crippled the pace.
But most importantly, my biggest peeve was the awkward blend of past and present tenses.
I’ve had my fun with this series, but with the decline in quality from the newer books, this is it for me.
Definitely another great read that I very much enjoyed. And I admit I am also very curious if she will integrate with her other half in the future. Very much looking forward to volume four.
