An extremely dated, yet still fascinating read about the largest country in South America, complete with amazing photographs of the countryside and architecture.

Elizabeth Bishop complained about what the Time - Life editors did to her prose, but the book provides a multifaceted lens of how Bishop saw her adopted home. The dated photography adds a dimension of nostalgia as I remember these T - L books from my childhood.

Misalnya bagian pertama diberi judul A Warm adn Reasonable People, bagian keenam berjudul Graceful and Popular Skills, dan bagian kesepuluh adalah A Nation Perplexed and Certain.
