77 Selected Stories from the Qur'an

Rate this book
It is not easy for everyone to understand the stories or parables of the Qur'an, as its charming but quaint Arabic expressions or 'flash-back' to past events are not common knowledge, thus their beauty and impact are easily lost.

The presentation of 'Selected Stories from the Qur'an' (containing some seventy odd stirring episodes) is somewhat different: instead of quoting Qur'anic verses, its dialogue, monologue or rhetoric-directly, their spirit is conveyed and appealing atmosphere added, making it exciting reading. Moreover, their moral is extracted and tabulated as lessons, plus researched footnotes are provided.

The author's mother tongie is Arabic, he is also a Hafiz (knows the Qur'an by heart) and an Islamic scholar of repute - these qualifications enable him to soak up the spirit of the scriptual language and he conveys it flowingly in English with which he is equally well-versed.

Creditablity to the learned Sheikh's work is evident from the fact that the Head of Cairo's Al-Azhar University deemed it importance enough to commission a critique on it.
