Amelia Doherty is a fifteen-year-old poet based in Manchester, England.

She currently holds the world record for the number of anthologies written by someone under the age of nineteen with twelve poetry anthologies. Along with this twelve, of which the first was published in December 2014, she has been featured in a further two ('War and Peace: An Anthology' and 'Immersed in Words').

Her award-winning work was first recognised in 2015, when she was commended in the Greys Court Palimpsest Poetry Chalkenge, a national award run by the Young Poets' Network and The National Trust for poets under the age of twenty-five. Her winning poem, 'The History House', was shown in the Oxfordshire property Greys Court in 2015.

In 2015, Doherty was one of twenty-three UK based young poets featured by the Poetry Society in celebration of National Poetry Day.

In 2016, Doherty was one of six winners of the Young Poets' Networks Great Fire Poetry Challenge, alongside the Museum of London to celebrate their new exhibition..

In 2016, she was one of the winners of the international Youth In Excellence Poetry Prize and the National Young Writer's Creativity Award.

In 2017, Doherty was second-place prize winner for the Young Poets' Network's annual August Challenge #1. The poem, 'Camping In The Edgelands With My Cousin', was also featured by Lancashire Life Magazine in their January 2018 edition.

Also in 2017, Doherty was commended in the Young Poets' Network's Riddle Me This Poetry Challenge in celebration of the eightieth anniversary of Tolkien's novel The Hobbit.

In December 2017, Doherty's poem 'Compasses' was one of the ¡ Poetry ! group's monthly finalists. It was voted 3rd.

In 2018, Doherty was first-place prize winner in the Young Poets' Network Namedropping Challenge with Jen Hadfield and the charity People Need Nature.

In January 2018, two of Doherty's poems were featured on Teen Ink website, with 'A Break Up Haiku For You' being the second highest voted haiku, and 'Confusion' being the highest voted sonnet.
