Ransom Lost

Best selling author David Johnson returns with a blockbuster sequel to RANSOM’S LAW and Prequel to TUCKER’S WAY.
~ ~ ~
Since the end of WWI, the Ransom family have endured more than their fair share of heartbreak and challenge. Roscoe and Willow have fought hard to build a new family, but life is about to become even harder.
Junior Ransom gets lost while exploring a cave and fears he will die there. As Roscoe and Willow become frantic over his disappearance, their new child, Emily suddenly falls gravely ill. When Roscoe and the townsmen begin searching for Junior, tension and danger is heightened by the appearance of a fierce-looking vagrant, his wife, and his man-sized daughter, Tucker. Willow senses a threatening evil in the man and worries what malevolence he’s done—and to whom.

At the point Junior gives up hope of being found, a mentally-limited man named Solomon rescues him and takes him to his remote house where there are freshly dug graves in the back yard. Then Tucker, who has run away, shows up and reveals to Junior that her father murdered Solomon’s parents.
Roscoe and Willow’s hearts waver between hope and despair and end up turning on each other in anger, which shreds the fabric of their marriage. Roscoe returns to his old ways of drinking, leaving Willow unprotected from the coming evil.
Roscoe and Willow have braved many storms together but none like they face in RANSOM LOST. Will their love for each other be strong enough to survive?

Johnson weaves together the pieces of this story into a heart-pounding drama that will make RANSOM LOST impossible to put down until the cataclysmic ending.

This has been so far a very good series. A family faced with a life of hardship and tragedy a time during the depression when times were hard after the war. The KKK racial tension bigotry and hate but still they kept surviving. Supporting each other when they would give up on them selves.

Great story

I’m so glad you told Tucker’s story. It’s a shame to think things like this went on way back in the days but I guess evil is everywhere. I hated to see Kerzzan die but as you said evil is all around us. Thanks for another great read and I hope you have another story to tell in this series!

Ransom’s Law and Ransom Lost by David Johnson
I was introduced to David Johnson’s writings by reading Ransom Odds, the third book in this series. Although I was able to follow along, I was curious as to what I missed by not reading Ransom’s Law and Ransom Lost.
I am glad that I went back and read these two books. By reading these two books, I was able to get a better understanding of the characters and their backgrounds. I am highly impressed with the author’s ability to get so much subtle history into the story. Life was different back then. People were not always friendly with each other. But stories like this are heartwarming by showing what a little love and understanding can do.
Definitely a good series to read!

Ransom Lost

I wanted to read Ransom Lost because it is the prequel to the Tucker series. Then I decided to read Ransom's Law because it came before Ransom Lost. I was so attached to the characters that when I started reading Ransom Lost, it was very disturbing because bad things were happening to these people. This validates David Johnson's ability to bring his characters to life. The plot of Ransom Lost moves along well. The character of Tucker is introduced and some additional insight into why she was the way she was is obtained. I really enjoyed this book.

Really enjoyed this.! Junior, Ransoms son , doesn't come home when he's supposed to. He and his BFF Phynus had gone our exploring? found a hidden cave. Junior wanted to go in and explore it, but Phynus refuses to go in. Two days later Ransom is pretty mad because the boy has missed his chores and hasn't checked in. When he confronts Phynus and he explains to Ransom what's happened, this sets off the search for Junior.

Great action and story telling

Loved the characters and like in life there is lose but also redemption. Getting lost is a common fear for all people and I am glad there is a way through that

Couldn't put it down.

It's been a long time since I enjoyed a book like the two in this series. The characters came to life for me. I was angry, sad, heartbroken and relieved. A very enjoyable read.

Love it, Before You Read It.

David’s books will never let us down.
Just amazing! Inside this book from the very first chapter, it will fill your mind with comfort, adventure, emotion, and much much more.
So easy to read, for young and old.
Best of all you need to read David’s very first book.
The Tucker Series also Ransoms Law to get the best from this book.
So take my word as one of David’s many fans, you will be so pleased with all the reading ahead of you, I can honestly say he cannot write his stories quick enough for us fans. This is another one you will be quiet content to read in one sitting and I can hear you say bring on book 2, I am hooked and I cannot wait.
So much to talk about what this story will bring and leave you with.

Ransom Lost is another excellent story that will capture your attention from the very beginning. It takes place after Ransom's Law and before Tucker's way, which, if you haven't read , you definitely need too. This author has the ability to evoke one's emotions with his writing. You will experience every feeling that the characters go through, you truly feel as if you are right there with them at that very moment. I highly recommend all of David Johnson's books, you will not be disappointed! He truly puts his heart and soul in his books. As always, looking forward his next book.

Mr David Johnson you are some kind of special. Your writings are simply about as awesome as it gets. I feel like I've just finished reading a Mark Twain adventure novel. I cannot praise you enough on your God given abilities as a writer. God has truly blessed you. The adventures of the characters in Ransom Lost are truly something to read and you will never want it to end. Can't wait for more of this amazing writing, thank you Mr. David.

Wonderful Story

Once again David Johnson has written a truly moving story. As always I am very moved by emotions he is able to express in his writings. It was very interesting how he continued Ransom’s story and created a beginning for Tucker’s story. I have read all of his books and highly recommend them.

Another great book

Ransom List is a excellent book. I could not put it down. I have read all of the Tucker series. This is a prequel to that series and the second book of the Ransom books. If you have not read Ransom's Law as yet, you might want to because that will give you some background on the wonderful characters in the book!!

Before the Tucker series

Each character is memorable. I liked the inclusiveness of characters. I enjoyed the main characters, but I was really invested in reading more about Tucker's youth. I was really hoping for a huge splash of violence at the end. Lol! Many thanks David Johnson. I highly recommend this book, and the series.

Wow

This series of books are so well written that you will find yourself in the middle of the story. I felt like I was involved in the lives of all the characters. I think most everyone could be placed in the story at some point. You will laugh, cry and get mad right along with all in the story. Enjoy!!

Great read

I read the entire Tucker series before Ransom Lost. Heartbreaking as it was, it was good to learn more about Tucker's painful life. The characters in Mr. Johnson's stories suck you into their lives with such force its hard to put the book down. I can't wait to read his next one!

David Johnson Scores Another Hit

After I read my first book by Mr. Johnson, I was hooked. There's a special way he weaves the story and his memorable characters seamlessly together. After the first book I bought each subsequent book simply because his name was on the cover. I enjoyed Ransom Lost and seeing my favorite girl, Tucker. Keep them coming, your fan is waiting.
