Skye Faden #2

Goddess Rising

Rate this book
The Queen Bitch is Back. In the highly anticipated sequel to Darkness Descends, Skye Faden and her men return for a sizzling, epic adventure four millennia in the making.
Skye is settling into her new life quite nicely: establishing her pack and home; guarding over a heavy secret; coordinating the worldwide war between werewolves and blood-drinkers; and – of course – still finding time to enjoy the sweaty, delicious perks of her Trinity.
Yes, life is pretty sweet, overall. So, naturally, an ancient enemy resurfaces to complicate matters.
Join Skye as she fends off mystical attacks, accidentally traverses time (oops!), unearths truths that call the tale of the Clan’s origins into question, and makes a (highly questionable) alliance. Trapped in the past with the fight of her life fast approaching, she must somehow learn to accept all of the newly discovered aspects of herself and ascend… or die trying.

Five hundred stars!

I love a dense book. Give me 500 pages of a world to get lost in. Ashton did just that. I felt like I was in the book. The scenes were well crafted as if a movie were playing out in my head. There wasn't unnecessary bullshit to fill up pages or each a word count. Each scene was meaningful and leading us somewhere.

I haven't read the last few pages. I'm just not ready to let go.

I am chasing the dragon now. I've read three other books and none are giving me the high Goddess Rising did.

Amazing sequel!!

I have been scouring the net for updates on book 2 since I read (and reread) Darkness Descends. Let me just say, I practically jumped for joy when seeing it was finally released! Ashton has quickly become one of my favorite authors, she knows how to build a world in which you just want to immense yourself in. There is absolutely nothing I could complain about, except how long will it be until book 3?!? This series is a must read, must ignore life, and must praise for it's brilliance. You won't be disappointed!

Very well written! the characters are **Chefs Kiss** so perfect, by that i mean just well fleshed out they don't feel stock or cookie cutter they are who they are. I absolutely love that kind of time travel trope too it was so well done and I couldn't put it down!

I read the first one so long ago I couldn't remember what it was about so I did a re read and I am so glad I did was worth diving into again.

Will for sure be keeping an eye out for the next one

Damn, this was one hell of a book. I read for 14 hours straight! All throughout the night and I finished in the afternoon, good thing I was not at work, managed to sleep for only 3 hours and I felt like punched in the head for the rest of the day and I still couldn't believe the book finished, yeah right the will be another at some point, but how would I live without it between that time?

Now, we have a beautiful continuation of the first book, and it is still a long book, after reading it I have finally gotten a glimpse of the complex reasons behind the plotline and the certain character's behaviour.

She has a king and a confidant, she needs to have that separation, there is a reason for it, I couldn't rant any more after finding out. We find out why her men behave the way they do as in order to save herself she goes to the past all 4000 years ago, her men are still wolves but just merely 100 years old, barely babies for them. Their characters are also not fully developed. With the time she spends with them she sets them on a certain path for them to become the men she found again and fell madly in love.

She also sees some inconsistencies with their goddess and her great-great.........grandmother. Suddenly I was wondering how did I not see it? We begin to see how the vampires have their beginning from the goddess' other raven mate but something does not add up. And so some great scheming happens, our girl prepares carefully for battle and becomes increasingly more powerful. We see her ascension to something entirely different, we find out why was she bitten at this precise moment and many more answers.

There is also some angst and you, the reader, can experience quite a bit of anger towards her first mate, when she meets him in the past, since he behaves terribly on several occasions and he ends up severely punished.

Bottom line - we need more fantastic books like this one MORE!

Wow. I’m honestly not sure what I feel right now. Besides I’m seriously ready for book 3.

This is definitely not a standalone book. If you haven’t read Darkness Descends, then I definitely wouldn’t recommend starting with Goddess Rising. You’ll be scratching your head and most likely may not finish because you didn’t start at the beginning.

This book picks up right after Darkness Descends left off. And dang, it feels pretty dang nonstop. I feel like I had to go to work to give my mind a minute to catch up. Sadly, once at work, I wanted to pick back up where I’d left off.

The author has created a very rich world that I’m curious about. I’m sitting here wondering what we’re going to see in book three. I seriously hope it’s answers because I now have a lot of unasked questions.

I definitely recommend that you give this series a try if you like fang and fur in your reads.

Can’t wait til book three.

Well worth the Wait!!!

This long anticipated sequel to the Skye Faden series was well worth the wait!! Jumping back into Skye's world with her and her guys was everything I was hoping for and more. I can't wait for the next book in the series with all the questions that Goddess Rising sparked. This book is so deliciously long but somehow at the end it will still having you needing more. Alisha Ashton take as long as you need with the next book as long as it's as good as this one you will have no complaints.💖💖💖

The sequel darkness descends deserves.

Alisha Ashton is a auto one click author for me. After reading Darkness Descends, the first book in the Skye Faden series, I was hooked. It became an auto reread for me, and goddess rising lives up to my expectations. I just wish I could either be Skye, or be near her? Either way, the twists and turns of this book will keep you up reading. It was definitely worth the wait!

Love love this series

Praying the next book comes sooner than this one did. It was worth the wait but serious ready for the next one. The beginning was a little hard going but everything starts to make more sense as you get further into the book, although more questions pop up as the author leads us on a merry Chase of wanting and needing to know what happens next.

Love book 2. Good plot. A lot of twists and turns. Who is good and who is bad? Well I guess I will have to see if there will be a book three.

Things are not always as they appear.

But this book is as good as it appears, and is a sequel that does justice to the first book. The first thing to note is that this book starts off right where the last one ended. I love when that happens in a sequel!

Skye is safe and happy with her men and finally back in the good old U.S of A. It was great to get a glimpse of life in Skye’s hometown and what life could be for her in the future once the ‘war’ is over with. But this glimpse does not last long ,as problems arise, back to Scotland they go. I would note that as far as complaints go this might be my only one. I really felt the whole time in Philly was rushed and almost just used as a place holder or as an impetus to get to the meat of the story.

As for the return to Scotland, we see a different side to many of our favorite characters, some good, some not so good. We get to see how the past can shape the future and a person. There is a ton of character growth and development. And shock and awe!! There was definitely some of that! Even I wasn’t expecting some shocking developments; which as an avid reader doesn’t happen much anymore.

This book will most definitely be put in my re-read pile; I can’t wait for the next installment!!

Even better than the first and worth the wait!!

Wow! The author out did themselves. This was such a great book and I am so happy continued to read the series. I will usually pass if the author waited as long as this one did to publish another book in a series. It was a very long wait, so long I had to re-read the first book before I read this one so I could remember everything. But it was such a good read. I just hope that the author does not wait that long to publish the next book. Or even a quarter of the time, it really was a ridiculously long wait.
