CJ’s ancestry project gets off to a bad start—something’s wrong with his DNA test. Then he decides to search for his grandmother’s parentage, despite her claim that she is an orphan. He’s joined by his cousin Penny and his buddy Oval as his search takes him to Las Vegas, where they run into nothing but dead ends until they meet a peculiar old man who seems to know something about CJ’s family. It was a great story with some sci-fi elements that enhanced the story but didn't make it feel like a typical sci-fi book.

I didn't really know what to expect going into this one but I was pleasantly surprised. The story moved along at just the right speed to keep me interested.

The Sci-fi elements are well done and relatively subtle so as to not be over the top and in your face.

Excellently written thriller with great twists and turns! Loved it from chapter one and read it in a surprisingly short amount of time. As an avid sci-fi and fantasy reader I cannot recommend it enough!

An outstanding thriller that weaves the past and present with twists and turns and great character development. A surprise waiting at the end as a teenager discovers his ancestry and the secrets of his family history. A compelling read.
