What an incredible and emotional book! Every once in awhile a book comes along that just blows me away and that is this book. The author did an outstanding job of not only giving us a very sweet love story but also the life struggle of this couple dealing with autism in the Hero. To me, this truly felt like real love. The way that Nicole not only accepted Caleb for who he was, but the unfailing support and sacrifices she made for him was a thing of beauty.

A handicapable love story

I have to say this is the first time that I have read a love story and one of the main characters is what some may consider handicapped or disabled. This is the love journey of Caleb and Nicole. Caleb is a tall good-looking student athlete. He plays baseball he's a picture of his college baseball team. He's also a twin brother of Cameron. And he is also on the baseball team. Both brothers play exceptionally well I may even be drafted into Major League Baseball. These two brothers have very similar attributes especially when it comes to the way they look and how they play baseball but there's one major difference. Caleb has autism. But he doesn't let this stop him he gets a lot of help from his twin brother Cameron and no one knows besides his family that he has autism. Caleb literally bumped into Nicole and nearly knocked her over while running late to class. Poor Nicole never soar Caleb coming I'm really almost did bounce off the ground. But Caleb was able to catch her in time I'm pretty much he was taken with her immediately. It took Nicole a little longer. Primarily because she was also very shy and unassuming herself. What I loved about the story was seeing these two shy people come together and change for each other. Another thing I really enjoyed reading about was mental illness it's not talked about enough in our society and I'm glad blue sapphire made it a Intercal part of the story. The story made me think about people that I know now and especially when I was younger in school who acted a lot like Caleb but I didn't have a word to call their diagnosis. In any event I thoroughly enjoyed their love Journey and I think he will too.

Caleb meets Nicole at college when they collide in the quad. He's apologetic and she's gobsmacked by the sheer size of him -- he's mammoth -- a 6'7" mighty, mighty fine specimen of a Texan man.

He's also a star college athletic who plays baseball -- he pitches and Nicole is trying to find her way in life and around the campus of her new college. Caleb has a secret that he's afraid to share, but Nicole pretty quickly figures it out. And, lucky for Caleb, Nicole is exactly what he's been waiting for all his life despite his mother (she's toxic) telling him otherwise.

Caleb and Nicole embark on a once in a lifetime, all-in slow burn love affair while navigating around and ignoring the haters in their lives. Blue Saffire never fails to entertain or evoke powerful emotions. There are lots of special moments and other characters to love -- Cameron (Caleb's older twin brother) and Dakota (their cousin) who are his staunchest defenders before Nicole arrives on the scene. Love their love for him!

Though this story doesn't end in a cliffhanger, it's clear that Cameron will get his own story and I can't wait to read it.

This was one of my March reading challenge books. I had shied away from it because the H is on the autism spectrum. I worked in an elementary SPED classroom for a while (🥰 loved it! 🥰), but now I get squicked-out by these sorts of story lines. I decided to give it a go, for the challenge, since it seems universally liked. 💕 Overall, it was a great read! 🤩

What I liked:

• innocent shy POC h - college aged - she is shy but independent and smart - I liked her 💗

• H is 6'7" of delish college baseball player #heytherebigguy 😍 - he's aggressive (with the h only) - he is on the spectrum but he keeps it on the DL - it's love at first sight for him

• I loved how focused the H was with the h - there is no one else for him at all - I thought their dynamic was sweet and hot

• I liked that his sport played a fairly large role, and he goes pro

• the H is definitely j/p, from the start, maybe even a bit OTT at times 😍

• I liked that we got to see how his thought process worked, why he did some things the way he did - why he reacted certain ways

• there's a little bit of OW drama - just enough to make things interesting, but nothing that would make you mad at the H, it's all one-sided

• there is some angst at the end - I need a little drama 💔 #imadramahoooaar 🤣🤷‍♀️

• the timeline is their college years then the decade or so after college - they are together for 90% of that - that was an interesting departure from the norm

• what saved this book from being a #hellno from me, as that the H is NOT a v*rg*n. He is very experienced, so he doesn't seem *quite* as vulnerable, as he might, otherwise. This balanced out the power dynamic for me.

• dual POV

• loved the ending - I almost shed a tear for them 🥰🤩🤩

What I didn't like:

• The beginning of the book was a lot of telling, not showing, but that improves as the book moves along

• she's a bit uncomfortable with getting in a relationship with him due to his autism, and THAT made ME uncomfortable. 🤷‍♀️

• I liked that he was so aggressive, but I didn't like that it felt like that was all being attributed to his diagnosis 😕

• The h was sort of cast in a very maternal roll towards the H - it's understandable, and some might find that nice, but it was a little cringe-y, at times, for me

• she bucks up against his j/p tendencies 🙄🙄🙄 and that really gets on my last nerve... that's my favorite part of these Hs 😅.... and its no fun to see him reigned in. #badfeminist 😬🙈🤷‍♀️

• I didn't like HOW MUCH the H needed the help and guidance of others. I know he was working to be more independent, but it made me a little uncomfortable, with him being the romantic lead

• Others had too much rage-inducing control over him. He was very easily manipulated into really bad decisions - I *almost* DNF'd at 75% due to this. Even as a grown man, he still was treated like, and acted like, a little boy. 🥺

Bottom Line: Overall I enjoyed this book, despite being a little uncomfortable. (I recognize that as a *me* thing.) It's well-written, and I think readers who like a SWEET jealous possessive H will really like it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⚠️For the Safety Squad⚠️

• no cheating

• no sharing

• a little one-sided OW drama

I have mixed feelings about this book. I commend the author for writing a main character with autism and showing his strengths and struggles. I loved Caleb's relationship with Cameron. I thought Cameron was awesome and was so disappointed that his life became such a mess. He deserved a HEA. I also didn't like that the couple had so many unnecessary conflicts 10 years into their relationship. Nevertheless, the sex scenes were smoking hot and written extremely well!

3.75 to 4 Stars?!

Well I was not expecting to binge read Where the Pieces Fall today! This is my first book by Blue Saffire but you know what?! It probably won't be my last because this book was addicting as hell!

What's it about? Our heroine is Nicole (she was consistently pretty great!) who just moved transferred to a new school in Texas. On her first day on campus she literally bumps into college baseball star Caleb and they have an instant connection. Caleb and Nicole quickly fall in love and from there they will have to face the different challenges that life throws at them.

What did I enjoy about Where the Pieces Fall?

1. Nicole & Caleb! Oh man these two had this intensity when they were together that I just felt though the page. From the moment Caleb and Nicole meet you could tell these two were going to have an epic sort of love. Nicole was honestly such a great heroine! She might've described herself as shy but I would say she was the exact opposite. She stood up for herself and Caleb time and time again! She never let anyone get away with saying shit about her being with Caleb (even his mom!) and she never did anything to make Caleb doubt her love for him!

“We’re a team, right? We can do anything together,” Nicole whispers, again she takes another part of my heart for her own.

Overall I thought Nicole and Caleb were just perfect for each other. They brought the best out in each other and pushed each other instead of holding one another back. What I also thought was really well done was that when some drama went down between her and Caleb she made him work for it. She wanted the explanation and apology and wasn't going to let him back into her life without a proper apology.

No man, not even Caleb should be allowed to destroy me like this. I won’t let my little girls grow up thinking this is okay. I went from being hurt to plain angry somewhere along the line.

Now I can't talk about Nicole without mentioned our hero Caleb! Man this dude was intense, possessive, caring, and loving!

“I love you like crazy, Nicole. You have no idea how much I love you. I didn’t know I could feel this way, but I do,” he swallows hard. “I’ve known how I felt for a long time, but it has been hard not knowing if you feel the same way. Darlin’, you just put my mind and heart at ease.”

Caleb was such a great hero and you could just see his love for Nicole jump right off the page. I need to find me a man who loves like Caleb does! Caleb didn't have it easy in Where the Pieces Fall . A lot of the conflict at the end of the book came from Caleb learning to realize he was worth Nicole and that she loved just the way he was and that she didn't care that he was on the autism spectrum. For Nicole that was just one part of what made him the man she loved. Seeing him finally find peace with himself and truly accept himself was beautiful to watch! Accepting yourself and loving yourself the way you are is one of the hardest thing you can do for yourself (at least in my opinion).

2. Cameron & Caleb's twin bond! Oh man these two were so freaking great! I loved that Cam was so there for his brother and was always in his corner rooting for him. The love between these two bros was so sweet and heartwarming it made me want to call my brother and tell him that I loved him <3 I will say because of how great their bond was in the first half of the story that I was a bit bummed that we didn't get to see as much of Cam in the second half of the book. -->i think this is because Ms. Saffire is eventually planning on writing Cam's story so she didn't want to give anything away. . .cause honestly they were being so vague on what was going on with Cam in the second half. However, overall this bond was so sweet and I just loved it a whole lot! It made my heart warm <3

What made me a bit annoyed. . . .

Yep that's right the drama llama reared its ugly head and just ran away with this book! And honestly I didn't hate it but it did annoy me a bit.

Closing thoughts? Despite my mini rant I really liked this book! A lot of my frustration was aimed less at this book and more at the trope as a whole. I'm just getting more and more tired of seeing it but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy Where the Pieces Fall . The romance between Caleb and Nicole was really beautiful and I was rooting for them till the very end! And even though the whole Cam situation has me intensely rolling my eyes I still want to read his book! So, if you're looking for a romance with autism rep, an intense romance, a seriously hot hero, and a heroine that you'll love then this book is it!

*3.75* NA, featuring a college baseball superstar on the spectrum, an interracial couple, and strong, likable characters. The romance felt genuine and from the heart. The first half of this book is really good. The connection between the main characters, the level of steam, it was overall a really well rounded story.
"My brother is autistic, not stupid and he's definitely a man. You're a beautiful woman, Nicole. When Caleb wants something, he becomes as focused as the man you see on that field. Trust me, after last night, he is focused on reading you and your feelings for him."
Around the 75% the storyline faltered badly. So what went wrong? The author decided to create some drama and it simply didn't fit with how this hero had acted in the beginning of the book.

There is also a really large time jump of 8 years into the future, I would've preferred to of seen them experiencing those early years together. I think this book would have been wonderful with some room to stretch out in a series. Still recommend for the utter sweetness of this couple.

Blue Saffire is always one of my go to authors and she doesn't disappoint with the story of Caleb and Nicole. Blue tackles the issues of what happens after the happily ever after? Is love enough through the good times and the bad? Ms. Saffire takes us on a journey from when this couple first meet in college to being married with kids. Both characters go through a journey that strengthens their bond. While this is a romance that centers on the two, it's really about Caleb becoming independent without his twin and family. It's a sweet story that deals with issues that many families experience when a loved one has a disability.

I'm giving this book four stars only because there was a ton of editing issues. I can overlook one or two but it was throughout this book.

Umm...it's hard to form words right now. This story made me cry, love and laugh. I love Caleb & Nicole's complete journey. Just when I think Caleb can't get any sweeter & sexier- he does just that.
Just buy this book already!😋😝💞😘💋

Great book moments:

“I never want to see you give anything up for me again. I’ve had a lot of time to think about our relationship. You’ve sacrificed for me so many times. “It won’t be like that anymore. I’m going to lay the world at your feet. I’ll swallow my own shit to give you and my family what you need and deserve. That’s how the man I want to be would do things."

"I’m not able to do this with any other woman. Not just the connection I have with Nicole.I’ve touched her in ways I know I couldn’t with anyone else, and I’ve allowed her the same with my body."

“Yeah, and we can get a daddy room in the new house. CJ doesn’t cry as much anymore, but you can still wear the ear thingies, Gran sent and your special blanket,”

I honestly don’t know how this has as high of a rating as it does. To be honest, I went into it hopeful and intrigued based on the blurb and the high rating. However, I was very disappointed.

Caleb and Nicole meet in college after he almost knocks her down when she’s looking for her class. Caleb is autistic and has sensory issues, so the fact that he let Nicole touch him was a big deal. From there he pursues her and they eventually start dating blah, blah, blah.

I just think the big “conflict” was stupid and the resolution was far too quick. There were so many moments when I said to myself, “No one in real life would say that” or “No one does that”.

This book was also LOADED with grammatical errors and typos, to the point where I wonder if it even had an editor. And if it did, they need to be fired.

There were just so many eye roll moments that I could barely finish the book.

The first 40% was great, but the book gradually got worse to me.

Maybe it's me?

I see this has so many 5 stars and I wonder if it's me. I started this story loving it, and then I hit about 60% and changed my mind. When things get repeated like every page or even chapter that is not needed gets to be annoying. How many times do we fall in love all over again really? There are more I just don't want to spoil the story. Maybe it's me but when situations are to unbelievable I feel my eyes rolling. When it happens to often I feel reduction of stars. So I had to give it 2 stars.

Ms. Saffire wrote one emotional love story! Two people meeting at college. One dealing with being on the autism spectrum with his mother trying to control his life. Caleb, though, has a great support system in his twin brother, Cameron and cousin, Dakota. When going to class he accidentally knocks into this petite woman and is blown away by her looks and shyness. Nicole is also taken with the giant of a man who is incredibly gorgeous with his massive physique and blue-grey eyes. In time Nicole realizes that Caleb is dealing with a life-time disability that is not always easy to control. The tics. The stimming. The anxiety. And, the socially awkward behavior. Celeb suffers from autism. And, this is the start of their beautiful love story. The author definitely did her homework and portrayed Caleb spot-on. He was an amazing guy with a big heart. He just had a hard time showing it. And, Nicole, what a heartwarming and understanding young woman. Their beginning dates were sweet and endearing. And, later on when their relationship turns into so much more, the reader will sigh and swoon. It does get a little difficult for the couple as their lives change when Caleb's career is over because of an injury. But, I saw hope for them yet. This is kind of a long book, but you get a real sense of their relationship as it evolves over more than ten years time. It's an amazing sports romance too with the way that Caleb turns his love of physics into an incredible ability to be an elite pitcher. Wow is all I can say! I hope to see a story featuring Cameron eventually. There was so much more that really wasn't revealed about him in the end. I still had some questions that were left unanswered. Great first start to this series! Looking forward to reading more from this author...

Unforgettable story ❤️

Now this is one of the most beautiful romance books I’ve read. I can’t even explain how I felt reading this.. I completely fell in love with Caleb and Nicole. They’re both so easily likable, and the love they have for each other is out of this world. It’s not your typical live story either, Caleb and Nicole meet while in college. She’s a shy newcomer and he’s a college baseball star. He has a secret that he doesn’t want the world to know and it’s that he has autism. Caleb is one of the sweetest, kindest, sexiest, most honest heros I’ve read. I loved him from page one. Nicole is shy but smart, witty, patient and so damn loving.. they’re just perfect together. Most of the story follows their life in college and then eventually jumps to 8 years later. A romance must read.

2.5 stars but I’ll round to 3.

I have very, very mixed feelings about this book. First, it needs an editor. I can usually overlook, or miss myself, a couple of mistakes. This was almost every page. Words wrong, missing, etc. Very blatant.

Second, kudos for writing about a character with autism. A+ on that end. But he never let it define him or it to become an excuse until over 10 years into their relationship?! It was childish, unnecessary drama (and Nicole gave in wayyyy too fast).

I started skimming toward the end, which is an indication the book didn’t do it for me. It’s a shame because beyond the editing glares, it started off so, so strong. How do characters get more dumb as they get older?

This is my 1st read from this author but won't be my last!

This book is a must read. It contains content about people with Autism and how they might struggle with simple things most people take for granted.
The story is so deliciously detailed I could not put it down.
It gave me all the feels, happy, laughter and sadness.
Caleb and Nicole is a powerful, intense and passionate couple. I love the support both had through their family.
But it was disappointing to see so many errors in this book. This story needs an editor.

Once again Blue Saffire has taken me on a journey with yet another book. This book had me from the moment I opened it on my kindle app. She once again made me want to tell someone off, cry and just smile. Even laugh at some points in this book. This book will taking you through feeligs and make you see people in a different light. If I could I would give this book more stars. But what I can do is give it my smile rating which is five smiley faces 😊😊😊😊😊

I genuinely loved this book! It was full of emotion and I felt it. Would describe it as "good feels" book. And I loved both h and H here and most of the supporting characters. Their love was beautiful.

Saying all that, still feel that Hs mother was forgiven too quickly. They are better people for forgiving her as I wouldn't have..🤷‍♀️

Close but not quite

This book held so much promise but then the writing would become ridiculous and it would detract from the story. It fell about about 3/4 of the way through. Great story idea just executed poorly.

Loved this book

I loved this book. This was to me, hands down, the best book I've read by Ms. Blue. As a person who has never felt like she fit in and one who has so many issues, I could relate to Caleb. At times, I never felt like I was enough and that being me was a burden and a problem. As a person who was always beem looked over and through, I could relate to Caleb on so many levels. As a person with a son with special needs, I can relate. My son has Down Syndrome and I struggle with that daily. This book, reading it, meant a lot to me. While a work of fiction, I loved that the author wasn't afraid to go there. That she wasn't afraid to tackle the issues head on. I loved that Caleb and Nicole were flawed but together they were imperfectly perfect and made sense. This book was so sweet, I cried at the end. I cannot wait to read more from this series. I'm glad she took her time and did right by Nicole and Caleb. I loved how Caleb tackled his problems and tried bc he was more than his diagnosis. I loved this book. I recommend it to anyone wanting to read a good love story. It was different from her others and I really liked that. I cannot wait for this series to evolve. I'm hope the other books in this series will be just as AWESOME as this one. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. This book was special and one I will read many times.

What a beautiful story!

Every page of this book had me falling further and further in love with Caleb and Nicole.

Caleb is a sexy jock, with a passion for physics, who is hella possessive and on the autism spectrum.

Nicole is the pretty, shy girl who enjoys photography, new to the university.

This book had me laughing, crying and raging in all the right places!

Blue Saffire is a fabulous author, and I can’t believe I’ve not read a book of hers before!!

5 ‘sexy’ stars for this beautiful love story!!

What a wonderful book for a worthy cause

This was a refreshing read by Blue, I fell in love with Nicole and Caleb. Their relationship was beautiful from the start and even through the trials. Oh love can cover a multitude of faults and so much more. The platform Blue shed light on speaks to the reader through ever piece of this story. I applaud Blue for sharing this book of Love and Passion (there is lots of steamy passion) presented beautifully.

I enjoyed Caleb and Nicole story . Living with Autism is not easy. I have a neighbor both of her sons has Autism and you can't tell. I believe that having a support system is everything. When your dealing with anything. Caleb had a great support system. That's why in the end he was Nicole hero.
