Award winning Author Blue Saffire presents
Brothers Black 4: Braxton The Protector Book 4 in the Brothers Black Series
I'll set fire to the motherf**king wind for her. That will never change. It's why I let her take me through the ringer. I understand her. I know what she needs. It's just at some point…she's going to need to figure out what she needs more. To hide or to be who we really are. Either way, I'm going to bring a monster to his knees because it's what she needs most.
I have nothing to promise anyone, though promises have been made. They both deserve better than what I can give them. Do I love them both? Yes, but one has my soul and they both have my loyalty. Before I can do right by either of them, I have demons to slay. I've wept over my losses long enough. This weeping flower still has thrones.
He sees what I won't allow others to. She sees what no one else understands. We see the bloody f**king truth. Sometimes an eye for an eye is the only way to end one story to begin another. Sometimes you just need to Blackout.

The subject matter made a difference in this book.

Braxton and Heather...

I swear there needs to be a recap of each book of the Brothers black. The reason is because most of everything that happens in each of these books happens around the same time.

This is Heather and Braxton's story and I'll tell you these books are making me confused about the time line. We know about Heather from Wyatt's story. She was the lesbian in the group but I swear I also thought Heather was white. For the last 3 books, I never pictured Heather being anything other than white. Then when finally reading this book and Heather is not white but rather half.

The things that happen in this book make you feel a range of emotions and also leaves you not feeling complete.

I'll say that Braxton wasn't written as aggressive as Noah, Wyatt, and Toby. His voice in my head didn't sound as angry. You could tell him apart from the other brothers. Where as the first 3, to me, were all the same character.

What's missing in these books is the action story line. There is the build up around each couple with action and because it's written in first person you get let down from the build up. This book was ok... When it came to that segment. It got lost on a few occasions. The situation with Lucy was one of those occasions.

I'll continue to read these when they come out.

5 Star Kindle Unlimited Read

Outstanding read! Blue Saffire has become one of my favorite authors for creating fictitious worlds that spin-off each other. Even better is she does it without regurgitating the same book over and over. She builds story lines that revolves around the characters and sometimes over lap. However, each book has its own unique romance and she doesn't skip on action. Moreover, she creates powerful emotions with meanings. I can't wait to read more!

UPDATE
Yes, I love this world so much that when I finally made it through my massive amounts of email and noticed new releases... I had to start from the beginning. As a woman, I love these alpha in control men that will do anything to protect their families and the women they love. But I also love these strong woman who stand beside their men, not behind!

"I know what I want. I’ve been ruined for years. It’s Heather or nothing for me. I’m always honest when I hook up with chicks. It means nothing to me, it’s a good time and a way for me to perfect my skills, that’s all."

I'm supposed to believe this guy loves the h right? While he's out "practicing" with other chicks for years? Who writes this sexist idiocy?

Awful heroine, just awful. I cannot stand her.

And the mother - Cass Black is trash. Another awful female in this story.

Note to self: Avoid this author.

Oh My

Oh my goodness this book was so flipping great. I don't even know where to begin Blue Saffire had me fooled at first because in the last books she never said Braxton's wife name so I always thought he married someone else. I was so wrong I'm glad I was wrong but him and Heather fit so well together I loved this book, it was filled with alot of surprises. Well done you did the damn thing with book 4 I can't wait for the next book. So good everyone you is thinking about reading this book should do so right now!!!!

Loved it!
This was an emotional story from the beginning to the end. How true friendship can develop into a love so awesome. Braxton had patience and understanding of Heather plight. He knew what he wanted and went after it, and in the process he helped Heather heal. Definitely a book to read.

Great premise

This had the makings of a great read but, proofreading could help. The ties with previous books were clumsy. This could use some rewriting

Leaves a lot to be desired.

Again, I like the characters but...

As a survivor of sexual molestation, I thought the whole thing was handled very tackily and I was incredibly offended.

If even one adult is aware of some perv putting their filthy paws on a child, you don't NOT do anything. Especially when he goes and brings another kid into the world.

I understand that every day there are people that know a child is abused and stay silent but they are glorified and made heroes in a story. These are all powerful people allegedly with all these connections and they let this man terrorize his family?

That doesn't make sense.

Again, if you have an editor, she is not very good at her job because grammatical errors, repetitve sentences, and plot holes run rampant.

It's very dangerous to put in a story that the love of an alpha male and a vaginal surgery can cure years of torture and physical abuse. Heather needs therapy. I don't know if I met anyone else who didn't make it to the other side without therapy.

Very irresponsible.

And it's a shame because even with all of that this is one of Blue's more well written books. Which isn't saying much but still...

Lost potential.

The first half of this book was great. After that and until about 85 percent of the book, it was pure nonsense. There is no emotional growth or empowerment; eye rolling diversions and fluff that added nothing to the story. There is absolutely no attempt to have the h sort out her life and then the h stands by and watches as her sister might be going through the same thing that happened to her. Then the h involves herself in a fake " relationship " because she wanted her father to get off her back? Really? Simply poor story telling and I had the hardest time finishing this book. This poor execution of the story left such a bad taste in my mouth that I could not enjoy HEA. After all, in the last 15 percent of the book, we have to solve all problems, get married and have kids. Truly poor execution.

Excellent Read! I’d been interested in these two from the beginning of the series and their story did not disappoint. Everyone needs them a Braxton in their lives and Heather was one lucky woman to have him. Highly entertaining.

WARNING: Mention of child rape and sexual assault

This is one of the author's earlier works and if you've read her before, you already know her formula. Per the reviews for the previous book in this series, I skipped book 3 and it didn't make a difference in my opinion. You can catch up with what everyone's been up to and I don't feel that I missed much.

I feel that this author puts a lot of emphasis on her women characters either being virgins, or have been celibate for some time. While it's annoying and short-sighted, I get that authors do that in romance books-- trying to suspend disbelief and create a fantasy narrative. But seriously, this troupe needs to just die. Most adults you encounter have had some sort of sexual history. Virginity isn't measured by penetration or not. And virginity is a made-up word (yeah, I know... all words are made up. You know what I mean). This narrative isn't placed on men, just women. And I'd really love to see women authors stop with this shit.

While I had enjoyed aspects of the chemistry between Braxton and Heather-- I seriously had to flip back and get her name because it was forgettable 😕-- yall, don't even waste your time with this one. Besides the constant back and forth between them, she saying or thinking he's too young for her (it's only 4 years), she "going gay because hiding protects her", I was simply bored with it all. But the one thing that I feel pissed me off the most was his solution to her "problem".

SPOILER! (do you even care tho?)

The first time they have sex, they both-- in their own way-- realize that her hymen has already been broken.

Let's set aside the fact that a girl's hymen can break in a number of ways that don't involve sex, and not all girls bleed their first time having sex when they've never experienced penetration before. This isn't even discussed in the book.

They don't really discuss his lack of feeling a barrier-- whatever the fuck that meant-- because that would involve her directly admitting and saying she was raped as a child. And thus far, she doesn't want to discuss that time in her life. But Braxton, as her "charmer", decides the best way to help her is to set up a hymenorrhaphy (hymen reconstructive surgery).

...what?!

Not therapy, or some sort of trauma counseling, or literally anything else. But a surface, very sensitive, and unnecessary surgery was the go-to.

...?!

I see what he was going for-- trying to give her a piece back that was taken from her. But I also think this unhealthy-ass attachment that it had with virginity is toxic as shit. And if he truly were looking out for her and was a real friend, he would have set her up with a counselor who specialized in rape and sexual trauma. Because isn't that the mark of true friendship-- helping them heal inside and outside?

Also, I went back and reread the synopsis of this book on Amazon-- it doesn't make sense. Though names aren't mentioned, it's written in first-person and it's mostly Braxton talking. He mentioned that "they both deserve better"... who is he talking about though? There wasn't someone else in his life that he was with. It made me wonder if the author had written the synopsis while she was writing an earlier draft of this story and maybe it included someone else? If yall know, please drop a comment and clue me in.

Bottom line is that I want better for and from this author. I want better for her audience. While I am looking forward to the 3rd book in the Blackhart series, I won't be buying or reading any more of her older works. At the moment, I just don't have it in me.

So yeah, skip this one. Or if you wanna spend the $5 for the Kindle, read at your own sanity.

This should have been called "The Education of Kaye Porter...

And the Man That Taught Her! ". Poor Kaye, being a pastor's daughter, she was sheltered and protected by her big brother Danny and his best friends Wyatt Black and Alberto. what made matters worse for her was that she was Avery introverted nerd who always had her face in a book, just like Wyatt, whom she secretly had a crush on all of her life and so did he. They were the best of friends too and found each other to be easy to talk to. Kate did not think she had a chance with Wyatt as she noticed the kind of girls he would date. He wanted to make a move on Kaye when she announced that she and Alberto were dating. What Wyatt did not know that there was more going on than meets the eyes with his friends. Kate used writing erotic romance books as a way to express her feelings and used Wyatt as her muse, but there was just something lacking. Kate could not write what she did not know about and Wyatt was going to be her teacher. Big did her stories lol after that.

When Danny and Alberto were killed in an auto accident, Kate was forced to keep her brother's secret. Wyatt promised to take care of Kate and protect her. Everyone was p.o.'d with Pastor Potter's way of dealing with Kate and so was she but she missed her family. Wyatt wanted to propose several times to Kaye but something always got in the way. Kate's writing career sky rocketed and left little time for Wyatt but he was determined to be patient.THe found a good woman and was going to make her his. He already felt like she and Dashawn were already his family..

I loved the easy that Blue wrote this book, with Carmen interviewing Kate and Wyatt about their relationship in the beginning and wrapping everything up in the end of the book. I was wondering how the crazy fan stalker fit in the story but it just showed one what people in the public sometimes have to deal with. Besides, it showed how Kate got to use the training Noah did so she would be able to protect herself if no one was around. I can't wait to see what Ryan's book to come out. I can also see one about Ronan and Carrick as well. There were some lose ends left dangling in this book that I'm sure will be tied up in future books. Come on Ryan and Jonathan.

Braxton Black has been in love with Heather Lockhart since he was 6 years old. Heather has felt the same about him for just as long, but wouldn't even admit it to herself, as she has been hiding some pretty dark secrets for the same amount of time. Brax made a promise to her as a kid, that he would stand by her side and take care of her problems for her. He never let the promise go. He never gave his love to another, but Heather was really too messed up to handle how her heart and body felt about him and she couldn't get past their 4 year age difference. At one point she even used the fact that they would have difficulty as an interracial couple. What she didn't take into account was who Braxton was, she could run and hide all she wanted, but he is a Black, he's not going to give up.

We have watched these two dance around each other for the first three books in the Brothers Black series. We knew there was more than met the eye, and we really could assume that Lucy was Heather's beard all along. They way Braxton teased her in the other books had to come from somewhere and be about something, but Blue was really good at just giving us enough to make sure we were salivating for Braxton the Charmer, by the time we got him. She did not disappoint. There were many times throughout out the book that I wanted to somehow reach through the pages and slap Heather myself. I really loved Braxton throughout the whole entire story. I wanted him to win her, and I wanted him to give up because I hated how she treated him all at the same time. His patience was other worldly!!!!! I felt for Heather, but hated how she let her childhood dictate her whole life, it made her seem weak to me. I loved when she started training to get her sense of self and confidence back.

I was so excited for this release, and Blue Saffire, gave me everything with this book. I actually read it in one day and I was sad when I finished it. With every Blue book I say it can't get any better...... that's just not true. Each one gives me everything I was hoping for with the couple, even if I sometimes feel like it's taking forever for the couple to "get there" LOL! Thank you Blue Saffire for creating a fantasy world for us that makes us crave more and that says interracial relationships are okay. For making the men true men who cherish their women and always put their families first. For creating strong women who can absolutely take care of themselves and their loved ones, but are perfectly okay admitting they need their men and work best as a unit. I honestly hope we keep getting the Mairettie, Briggs, Black, Kemble, Donati, Caprisi, O'Brien, Monroe, McGowan, and Lincoln family stories for years to come!!

Braxton, the second youngest of the Black broad has his love story with Heather re-told in Book 4 of the Brothers Black series. It was not as riveting of a story to me as the others, although it was still told well. Heather's history of sexual and physical abuse is told quite well and with so much detail. I thought the author did a fine job of expressing how crippling this type of trauma is to someone and affects every facet of their lives. Braxton had been in love with Heather since he was a little kid. It was as if they were basically born for each other, although Heather is 4 years old. They spend YEARS skirting around being together, mostly because of Heather's inability to deal with her trauma. The main issue I have is that this poor girl never once got any type of therapy or counseling. She went away to college and I know for a fact there are so many resources for students needing mental health services. They make it very accessible and free. She was sitting there suffering for damn long and not once was therapy suggested by anyone who even suspected she was going through it, even though they didn't know exactly what happened to her. They knew she was off a bit. That could have saved so many years of torture. Braxton was unrealistically loyal, IMHO. He hung in there, not even sleeping with anyone else for YEARS while he waited for Heather to come around. I mean, you can love someone but still have needs. I can't believe a man who is in his early 20s has that much control, sorry. I don't care how deeply in love he is with the object of his affections. Heather also having conflicting feelings about her sexuality is a direct result of her sexual abuse trauma. I thought the author did a great job in addressing this realistically, despite her not being so realistic in her treatment of a hot blooded, fine young man like Braxton putting his needs aside to wait on her to get herself together. Anyway, I would say this was more 3.5 stars for me. It is still a well-written book, just didn't grab me so much in the romance department as the other Brothers Black books did.

Braxton and Heather book makes you laugh and cry. I love it!

I kept reading about this couple in the other books and they really had my interested in them. So much so, that I stop reading the book I was on just to skip over to read this one.

Even though I was reading all the books in order base off how Blue Saffire has it place. I just couldn't help my self.

This book really had me in tears of not only laughing but also in sadness. This book really touch my heart.

Braxton and Heather goea through ao much together. They really do deserve there happy ending. And they really do deserve each other. As much as Heather kept pushing him away, which was hilarious how she kept calling him a big baby. Lol Braxton was determine to get his little wife.

Absolutely love this book. All I know is ALL the Black Brothers are crazy about there woman. But seems like Braxton seems to be the craziest. He will literally light ya on fire for his woman. Lol

Poor Heather had so much hurt and mistrust in her heart and soul was broken. She had to hide her true self to feel safe. Blue skillfully addresses a sensitive topic when we are introduced to the horror that molds Heather into the person she becomes. We are taken on an emotional journey that spans two decades. There are moments of sadness, anger, and laughter.
There were many times throughout out the book that I wanted to somehow reach through the pages and slap Heather myself. I didn't like all the sneaking around, hiding this and that! That went on for too long, so much so that it just got frustrating!

Heather, His Heart!

When Braxton, at the age of six, he knew from his early age that Heather belong to him. Braxton made a promise to Heather that they would deal with the person who hurt her when the time was right. Braxton made good of his promise, he had to wait a few years to do what he said, he was going to do, and that was to set 🔥 to the person who caused Heather pain and suffering. Braxton, made the scared rabbit whole again.

Excellent job Blue Saffire for bringing a very touchy subject to life, and giving it the outcome that it had, I was not going to finish this book, because this subject matter is hard to read about, and I can't imagine what goes through a child's mind, that they have to protect others, but you truly did a wonderful job of bringing the story full circle, I'm glad that I finished the book.

Good Story, Poor Writing

I really have enjoyed reading this series. I love the Black brothers and the character development. I like the idea of linking each of the stories together by telling the same events from different perspectives. I like how vulnerable, yet strong each of the women are. If Mrs Blue has endured any of these experiences personally, I love her even more for sharing with us through this book. With that said, it’s just poor quality writing when there are multiple grammatical errors, poor sentence structure and improper word choice on each page. This is your craft. There should be greater attention paid to the details. It bothers me when I read a published document that is clearly not in its final state. That said....I’m still gonna read the rest of the series.

So far this has been my favorite of the series. With that being said, it’s still missing something.

On one hand, I feel like the author did a great job setting the ground work for Heather’s story. And yet, toward the end of the story I was becoming quite annoyed with her childish behavior. Especially since she complained about Brax’s behavior and labeled him a baby. So much made sense regarding this relationship- the crazy back and forth and slapping. It all came together, and quite surprising actually.

Just like the other stories, this was quite scattered in the plot and details. I enjoyed the fast pace timeline, since their romance sorta began much earlier in their life and continued on. But the other details about the Ernest, Toby, and other drama mentioned in previous book- seem off. Almost as if the timelines were adding up.

A promise to keep!

Blue Saffire does it again! This definitely a must read!

Braxton Black is nobody’s baby and he knows just how to prove it! Always wise beyond his years, Braxton makes protecting and loving Heather Lockhart his life’s mission. Intent on keeping his childhood promise, Braxton won’t stop until he’s slain the dragon and won the fair maiden’s heart.
Heather is broken, physically, mentally and spiritually! Scared silent, she feels it’s up to her to keep everyone she loves safe; even if it means denying herself and the love she feels she shouldn’t have. Braxton Black is her safe place even if he is younger. It’s always be them together, and if Braxton has his way, they always will be!

Emotionally in tears

This too me so far in this series the best one yet. I was in tears the whole time I read this book. My heart felt for Heather, especially when she was younger and couldn't do for herself and her eviil old stepdad, Wanted to bust a cap into him myself. WTF was wrong with her Mom, she must have known something was up. Though his determination as a kid to an adult Braxton was my Hero though all of this. His promise to make sure that her stepdad paided fot what he did to her as a Child, His love and Devotion to her and God his Patience for her sneaky friend Lucy. Braxton kept his stiff together even til the end. And his mother I love her. Trust inspiring written book. Once i started it yesterday I had to finish.

Yeah This Is Good!!

First off let me say I want a Braxton.Every women should have a man like this or have come across one. This was so good that I didn't want it to end.I love that we get to see inside of the makings of this relationship. This was what love and romance is about.Once again this writer weaves a story that gets you so tied up that you don't want to be free. For every installment in this series you just fall deeper in love with this family of men and women. If you have not invested in this series or any of the rest of the family you have not been reading.I so look forward to more and to get a glimpse into everyone's relationships.I am in love again with a man from the Black Family!

Sooo Good!

Blue is such a talent! The way she weaves these characters and their stories is simply amazing. I liked that the heavy parts of the book were alluded to and not described. Definitely brought out the tissues. Reason for 4 stars - the errors. Quite a bit more than usual and could be distracting. I’m also ready to venture away from the characters child hood tales. I think that’s why Wyatt has been my fave story thus far in this series because we get a fresh intro into his love story during adulthood. However I do understand why it was needed in Noah Toby and Braxton’s books. The books just tended to spend a lot of time in their youth. All that aside, I can’t wait for more books from Blue! Highly recommend anything she writes.

H and B forever!!!

I really enjoyed this book. Heather and Braxton were such a cute couple to read about . I know their love story was a coming of age story but I did feel it took a long time for them to finally get together. Can we talk about Lucy? She was a mess. I expected something more sinister from her since she kept trying to get Heather drunk. There were several typos through out the book. The one I must point out is when he said Bean instead of Heather. I was so confused until I figured out it was the wrong name. I am now starting to feel like I have to read the other series. There are chucks left out or implied in this book that I didn’t have the context for . I do enjoy the series and will continue to read about the remaining brothers.

Marvelous

WOW! I am enjoying this series and this is the third story which will easily steal your heart. It's a powerful combination of secrets and excitement that's so full suspense and romance. I really enjoyed these characters they are so amazing and great together. When you add in the drama along with tons of emotions plus some intriguing twists and turns then you have a story that's full of feelings and so beautiful. The story is great and it's suspenseful the couple i has belong together since small children but they are in love with each other. Their relationship has loads of romance and heartache but it all works out well together. This story is truly delightful and I Highly Recommend Reading it.

The Blacks...love them

The Blacks prove once again they are not to be played with. I love this family they'll literally got to war for who they love. The story had me in my feelings. In other books I always thought Braxton to be the immature sacarstic prankster but he's so mature. Is it just me, or as we get know these brothers the younger they are they're more freaky and crazy lol. I love how Blue has been consistent from the first book in the Legally Bond Series. Every book takes you through familiar scenarios but with other perspectives and answers to questions from previous books. As always I hate when the story ends but I'll be patiently waiting for more.
