I can’t help but repeat myself once again… How much I love this group of misfits and how much I love all the Crazy scenes with the alcoholic/cross-dressing dog

And how this author once again gave us another amazing installment of romantic suspense story was full of action, romance, suspense, and just the right amount Spicy scenes……And Omg The humor I found in this gem

I don’t know there is just something about Wolfe that has made him one of my favorite Characters in this series, since the very first book …….. For so many different reasons but mainly he appeals to this coffee lover ☕ But, Putting all kidding aside. Wolfe Just has a unique charm about him that was so impossible to resist

Former Navy SEAL Clarence Wolfe is on the hunt for a psychopath serial killer who wants upon a time was one of his former Commander and teammates….. See Wolfe lost his entire unit cuz of this psychopath….. To him it was the ultimate betrayal

Dana Mulberry
She is the Determined: Reporter that is on a mission to avenge the death of a fellow journalist and her best friend

Somehow these two cases seem to have brought them both to the same place…. It had taken her weeks to find out about the sex club and track down the location of the newest party, since it relocates every week.

Dana Feels like she stuck in the friend zone with Wolfe, and now that they are somewhat working the same angle together…. She’s hoping and praying that they can move into the next level in their relationship, she just didn’t think that it would be at a sex club……. Now with that said, picture a 6 foot plus Wolfe wearing Black leather pants playing Dom….. Lord have mercy every woman’s wet dream come true

I have grown to love this author how she keeps me guessing and at the edge of my seat. I love how in the midst of all of this she could get you to laugh your butt off, with some of the crazy stunts that Roscoe pulls

OMG I have been waiting for Wolfe's book since book one. God but I love that crazy ex Navy Seal. I knew his book would be amazing and I was right. From the start of the book, which started with Wolfe in leather at a sex club, I was hooked. Wolfe was sexy, protective and a bit nuts, but oh so yummy. Dana was smart, stubborn, and brave. They were very cute together. I loved the build up to their relationship. Both Dana and Wolfe's backstories were good, detailed and made me feel like I really got to know them. I just loved them both so much and thought they made a great couple.

The plot was great. The bad guy super evil. There was action, and plenty of romance. Wolfe's mission was hella good. I was fighting myself not to skip ahead just to see what happened next. Roscoe and Kat were funny and cute as ever. I loved the whole team and getting to see the close friendships within the group grow with each book. A few new people popped up in this book and I really liked them. Especially Dana's family. Force's ongoing story line got a bit more interesting. I can't wait to read his book. Overall this book was amazing, and the ending was so sweet. I loved every minute of this read and can't wait to read the next book.

Broken by Rebecca Zanetti
3rd book in the Deep Ops series. Romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone. But don’t miss the full series.

Intense and captivating. Gripping and suspenseful. Sexy hot and emotionally satisfying. An amazing read with a mischievous dog that will cause laughter and gasps.
This author writes great depth into the characters and storylines.
The hero is strong and motivated with a soft heart for the heroine. Sigh.
I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

Excerpt:
“It’s not the nineteen hundreds.”
One of his dark eyebrows rose. “Dana, I’m the muscle for the Deep Ops Unit because I’m good at it. It’s my job to protect and defend and diffuse. You’re nuts if you think I wouldn’t protect my woman with everything I have, especially my life.”
His woman. She shook her head, even though her heart rate seemed to be perking up considerably, and not from irritation. “I think you’re behind the times here.”
“Maybe,” he allowed. “But it’s a dangerous world, and you and I know that better than most. In this world, we give ourselves to the people we care about, and with that comes responsibilities. I’m all for independence, equal pay, and all of that, but a man’s job is to protect women and children, and that reality transcends any time.” Kat took that moment to jump from the back seat and land on Wolfe’s shoulder. “Animals and the elderly should be protected, too,” Wolfe added, opening his door and somehow jumping out without dislodging the kitten.
“How does somebody argue with that?” she muttered as she exited the truck without waiting for him to open her door.
He shrugged. “Why would you argue? However, if you someday end up with a guy who doesn’t agree with that sentiment, you’ve ended up with the wrong guy.”
“Like you care who I end up with,” she said, stepping lightly over a puddle.
“Well, I’d hate to have to kill him for not protecting you.” Wolfe patted the kitten, slowing his stride to match Dana’s. It was sometimes difficult to tell if Wolfe was joking or not.
“Discussions like these throw me off kilter,” she said.

I’ve loved every one of the books in this series, but I’ve been dying for Wolfe’s story and I was not disappointed!

Wolfe is an interesting character, he’s added a lot of humor to the previous books with his quirky ways and his mysterious past. Although he’s the muscle behind the team, the way he thinks has often led me to think of him as almost innocent. He’s got such a pure heart when it comes to those he loves. And he’s fiercely protective of them as well, especially Dana.

I wasn’t sure if I’d like Dana or not but I should have known better. Ms. Zanetti did an incredible job of creating a heroine that could stand up to an alpha hero who wanted to control her, all while giving her the type of personality that made me want to be her friend.

This book sizzles with adventure, danger, humor and passion. Broken starts off fast and never slows down. With all the other wild Deep Ops characters to help this couple along the way, this made for a great escape from all the things that were currently weighing me down.

Wolfe has been my favorite since the first book of the series... well, beside Roscoe. Roscoe is on a level all his own. That dog has brought more comedy to this series than any other animal in a book. I adore the animal.

This whole rag tag team is made up of some quirky characters. They have messed up in the eyes of their superiors one way or another. Wolfe is that big scary dude that also has woman wanting to cuddle him like a bear. What can I say, I love the weird. That's a big reason he's been my favorite from the start, even though I've enjoyed all the characters.

I usually struggle with journalist just because they always seem to get themselves in stupid situations and take no heed to their own safety. I didn't have the struggle with Dana, and that probably has more to do with Wolfe always covering her back. They made such a good team together and I adore how protective he is of her.

I'm happy to say that Wolfe stood up to my high expectations for his book. My heart just melted with a few scenes that made me love him more. So good!

4 - "I’m not gonna let anybody hurt you… that’s all I have to give." Stars!

We return to the Deep Ops series, with book three Broken, finally giving us Clarence Wolfe & Dana Mulberry’s story.

I have loved Wolfe through the previous books, his quirky personality, his fondness for animals and his predilection for sweet coffee, with cream and sprinkles, all wrapped up in the usual Zannetti Alpha packaging. Dana being an investigative reporter has an equally strong personality and their clashes in the previous books have made for entertaining reading. This story for me has been the one I have been waiting for and the author did not disappoint.

"You’re not in charge here…"

"…The cuffs say otherwise."

There are many things going on in the book in general which is to be expected with all the characters that we have met in the previous offerings, we also get a few new ones in this instalment too which gives me hope for more books in the series over the next few years. But Wolfe’s motives for being on Angus’s team are finally bought to the fore, we are also given more insight into his motivations and why he is the way he is. I will say though that Wolfe’s character as the main focus didn’t feel like the Wolfe I had gotten to know as a secondary entity in the previous books, there were glimpses of him in Broken but the humour I associate with him was a little lacking.

"I’d rather have blue balls than you dead, sweetheart…"

That said it was still no struggle to read, and the author gives great POV with with other team operatives weighing in at pivotal points. Roscoe, is Roscoe, and I loved every minute of the time he spent on the page… well almost, but enough about that, read the book you’ll know what I mean.

Driven is up next, with another pair: Angus & Nari finally going front and centre. This duo have bubbling along for a while and with a serial killer added into the mix I am expecting the usual action packed, thrill a minute, sexy ride she always delivers. I just wish I didn’t have to wait until January 21 for it!

Former Navy Seal Clarence Wolfe has a vendetta. His whole unit was killed by a landmine, leaving him seriously injured. Searching for the man responsible for the explosion leads Wolfe to go undercover at a sex club. While there, he runs into reporter Dana Mulberry who is looking for information on a murdered friend. Wolfe and Dana team up when they learn they are at the club to talk to the same person.

This is the third book in the Deep Ops series. Wolfe and Dana have been circling each other for a couple of books. She has a habit of getting in over her head and needing rescued. This time is no different. When shots are fired at both of them, Wolfe is trying to determine which one of them was the target. This leads him to decide that Dana needs protection and that she should move into his house. Though they keep insisting they are "just friends", everyone knows that they are perfect for each other.

I was looking forward to this story, but I found it a little slow with a lot of repetition. Wolfe would push Dana away, insisting that they can't have a relationship. Then he would give in and have sex with her. This was repeated over and over. The suspense story was interesting, but I felt the villain was bordering into "super villain" territory, always being one step ahead of Wolfe and Dana. On the upside, Roscoe the alcoholic, high heel wearing dog made quite a scene at a family wedding. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

Rebecca Zanetti returns to her Deep Ops series with Broken, a story about a former Navy SEAL and determined to avenge his fallen brothers in arms and the woman who wants to help him.

Clarence Wolfe has been biding his time looking for the man who killed his team while working for Homeland Defense Department, a motley crew of good men and women who’d have his back if he’d let them. But he’s reluctant to let anyone close to him for fear his nemesis might hurt his loved ones to get at him, especially the alluring woman who keeps needing his backup when getting into sticky situations.

Freelance reporter Dana Mulberry needs to find out what happened to her journalist friend. Her findings lead her to a sexy club where she runs into none other than the tall, dark and sexy Wolfe who’s put her squarely in the friend zone.

As Wolfe steps in to protect her they find out their cases overlap. Working together while keeping Dana safe tests Wolfe’s control over his feelings towards her and soon they’re both tangled up in more ways than one.

Dana is energetic and keen to put her safety on the line for a good story, but she’s more eager to put her heart out for the broken yet incredibly alpha swoony Wolfe. Where Wolfe is fierce and a bit withdrawn, she’s strong and determined. But they make a great team finding common ground in their sense of civic duty and resolve.

Zanetti writes an electrifying plot with skill, including characters from past books giving Wolfe and Dana the support characters needed to develop the danger and intrigue that surrounds them. And while Wolf and Dana’s chemistry is palpable, it takes a while for Wolfe to relent.

I had met Wolfe since the start of the series. He came of as a bit off and yes, broken. I loved how Zanetti showed this was mostly about Wolfe’s desire to protect everyone around him first. She writes movingly of how much life had taken from him but even more deeply of the reward of letting others help starting with Dana. Their romance was intensely hot and passionate.

But not everything was intense danger and romance. Zanetti expertly interweaves some much welcome humor by adding the issue-riddled Roscoe, an alcoholic dog with a shoe and makeup fetish who gives each book and extra star!

Broken is book #3 of the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti. It is a thrilling suspenseful romance told from both points of view, with a happy ending.

I have been waiting for Wolfe’s story since the beginning. An agent wearing a trench coat with a kitten in his pocket who likes coffee with whipped cream and sprinkles has a story to tell and Zanetti did not disappoint!

Coffee Dates with Broken

First Date: Reporter Dana Mulberry is on a personal case dressed as a submissive at an exclusive sex club house party when she spots Agent Clarence Wolfe. Wolfe is a Former Navy SEAL whose been working his own vendetta case on the side. Sparks, undeniable chemistry, snarky banter await you when the two flee after the man they were both looking for ends up dead.

Second Date: Someone wants one of them dead, Wolfe’s old nemesis has made contact and Dana refuses to go into hiding, so she ends up bunking at Wolfe’s house. I loved seeing these two stubborn, driven characters together. Dana is insightful and sees past Wolfe’s attitude. Scorching moments, RULES, denial and sweet build up play side by side with intense action, danger and hilarious moments involving the team, Roscoe the dog and family.

Thrid Date: As the danger escalates, Dana brings the rest of the team in on Wolfe’s case when ties link to her case. This last date sees character growth, some healing, explosive danger and sweet swoon-worthy moments. While fast-paced, the cases threaded together and felt genuine. I loved the dynamics of the team, the teasers about things to come and the camaraderie we witnessed.

Broken delivered everything I hoped for and was the perfect escape. I laughed, cried, adored the romance and didn’t want my time with this team to end. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Broken is book 3 in the Deep Ops series and it's Wolfe and Dana's story. I have been looking forward to Wolfe's story since the moment he was introduced. There was just something loveable about the damaged soldier with a kitten in his pocket and an addiction to sweet coffees. Wolfe and Dana had amazing chemistry as friends and then as lovers. The action is nonstop and I loved how Dana protected Wolfe even by betraying his trust to his friends. I loved the new additions to the team and I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Wolfe has been one of my favorites since book one. He likes Dana but doesn't want a relationship with her because he's afraid someone from his past will hurt her because of it. Multiple bad guys running around all connected to his former buddy turned extreme bad guy. Lots of interaction with all the Deep ops peeps and previous couples. Roscoe and Kat are still my favorite. Several new characters introduced to keep this series going.

Wolfe was as incredible as I expected him to be!
I've been looking forward to this man's story since I met him (and Kat, his kitten) in Hidden.
He was uber focused and withdrawn, but had a unique charm that was impossible to resist.
How can you not be wooed by a man who can handle any deadly situation, strategically outline a plan of action against the evil of the world, but can't live without his super sweet lattes with whipped cream and sprinkles?
And he shares his love of sweets with all of his friends.
And he would be willing to give his life to protect those he cares about.
His willingness to protect went so far that when he himself was in the most danger, he tried to do it alone. No one should have to be hurt for him.
His team had no intention of letting him handle his personal mission on his own. They were a family and he was a big part of that. And all of them are so amazing!

Wolfe lost his entire unit due to a devastating betrayal. His thirst for revenge left him with absolutely no desire to get close to someone. If no one got in, then no one got hurt. Not on his watch. And then Dana happened. Her best friend was murdered and she was hunting for the killer. As a reporter, she accepted danger as a benefit of the job and she was willing to risk it all to give her friend some justice. When her case and Wolfe's case become tangled, he finds it impossible to keep her at arms length, no matter how hard he tries. And he definitely tries. But she wasn't going to let his cold shoulder and keep-away attitude deter her. And it was fun to watch!

The suspense in this story was eerie and creepy and I had no clue how it would all turn out. I love that the author kept me guessing and on edge. It ramped up my enjoyment level to the nth degree. Then again, that's exactly what I expect from a Rebecca Zanetti novel. Well-paced with an intense plot and even more intense characters, Broken was quite entertaining and more than deserves its must-read status.

Damn, I'm so addicted to this series!!!! There's not a lot of sex in the series but the stories and characters are amazing. Especially the audio. Holy moly Roger Wayne simply slays.

Clarence Wolfe (former Navy Seal) has been trying to find a former team member who killed his entire troop in Afghanistan. He's now with the Deep Ops misfit team and has also been helping out a journalist, Dana Mulberry , when she needs backup. They both end up at the same place one night while investigating, not having any idea their two cases are related. The crew ends up bringing her into their inner circle. Even though Wolfe and Dana began having feelings for each other in the last book, Wolfe has kept her at a distance because he's too afraid of getting attached. There's a lot of death, mystery, heat, comedy, and love.

AUDIO: I know that you know how much I love Roger Wayne. He's a brilliant narrator. He voices all of the characters in a unique way. They all have different accents, and he does a brilliant Irish one for Brigid and a sexy English one for Jethro. His female voices are perfect! I didn't realize RW had this range but I'm sure thankful he does!

DANA: My only complaint in this one had to do with Dana. It mad me SO mad.

I've given this a B+ for narration and a B for content at AudioGals

Rebecca Zanetti’s Deep Ops series featuring the members of a small, out-on-a-limb branch of the Homeland Defence Department continues with Broken, the third full-length novel in the set. Each book in the series is a (mostly) self-contained story but there’s also an overarching plot concerning the search by Angus Force – the head of the group – for the serial killer he supposedly shot and killed five years earlier. Everyone but him believes the man to be dead, and Force’s obsession with proving otherwise is what essentially derailed his FBI career and saw him sidelined into setting up a rag-taggle group of agents who get their hands dirty when the Bureau can’t afford to. Force’s plotline gains a little traction here – and I believe his story is next up in the series – but Broken is firmly focused on the somewhat eccentric former SEAL Clarence Wolfe and investigative reporter, Dana Mulberry, who found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time in the last book, Fallen, when she was kidnapped, and then rescued by Wolfe. There was a definite zing of attraction between the pair in that book, and in this one, they team up when they discover they’re both hunting the same bad guy – albeit for different reasons.

Clarence Wolfe has been something of an enigma so far, a big, surprisingly gentle man with a penchant for sweet, cream-and-sprinkle-topped lattes and whose kitten – Kat – lives in his pocket. He’s worked with Force’s team since it was set up, but he’s also been pursuing an enquiry of his own, namely, his search for the man – a former comrade – who killed his entire team when they were on a mission in Afghanistan. Determined to go it alone and reluctant to get close to anyone lest it compromise their safety, the last thing he needs is a journalist poking around and muddying the waters – especially when she’s the one woman in ages who has been able to work her way under his skin.

When the book opens, Dana, looking for information that will help her discover the identity of her friend’s (a fellow journalist) killer, is about to enter a BDSM-themed sex club and is surprised to see Clarence Wolfe (clad in tight leather pants that only serve to dial up the sexy) going in, too. She has no idea why he’d be there – unless for the obvious? – but hey, if she gets into trouble, having a badass ex-SEAL to help her out of it is a definite plus. Wolfe is as surprised to see Dana there as she is to see him – but before Dana can start asking around, shots start flying and sirens start blaring in the distance, and it’s time to get out.

As they speed away from the club, Dana tries to get Wolfe to tell her why he was there, but he remains tight-lipped. He does, however, try to dissuade her from continuing to investigate her friend’s death – “You’re my friend and I can’t let you get hurt.” – But Dana refuses. “I’m on a story, one that matters to me. I’m not letting up.” Reluctantly admiring her determination and tenacity, Wolfe realises she’s not going to butt out of his business without an explanation he isn’t ready to give, or let him do the legwork while she continues her investigation somewhere warm and safe.

The plot of Broken is tight and well-executed and doesn’t fall prey to the over-the-top silliness I noted in the earlier books. The bad guy is really B.A.D. – a traitor and drug-runner – and there’s plenty of action and edge-of-the-seat moments as the author gradually draws together the different strands of the investigation. But Wolfe and Dana make some questionable decisions, mostly to do with not wanting to tell anyone else – including each other – what they’re really up to, and I’m pretty tired of that “not telling you to keep you safe” thing. I understand why Wolfe, especially, wanted to keep his friends out of his investigation, but his overwhelming need to protect at all costs just felt… silly, and started to grate after a while. And I am SO OVER the heroine who insists on getting into it when their badass, highly-trained, ex-special forces fella asks her to stay behind – not because she’s a woman, but because having her along means he’ll be distracted, worrying about her safety when he should just be focusing on killing the bad guys.

The author introduces a new character – a former MI6 agent turned professor – who has a major part to play, and we also spend time with Force, Nari, Mal and the rest of the group. One of the things I enjoy most about this series is the real sense of camaraderie the author has created between the team members, and that’s a big reason why I’d suggest listening to or reading at least one of the other books in the series before this one; the team and how they interact is a major part of these books and it would be a shame to miss out on how they got there. Oh, and I can’t talk about the team without mentioning Force’s dog, Roscoe, a large German shepherd with a shoe-fetish and a drink problem who steals pretty much every scene in which he appears!

When it comes to the romance, Wolfe and Dana have good chemistry and although they try to label themselves as friends-with-benefits pretty early on, it doesn’t take long for either of them to realise that things are headed in a different direction entirely, one they probably aren’t ready for. I liked them together, and I liked the way that Dana – and her family – gradually bring some warmth and colour back into Wolfe’s life. But Dana is a bit feisty-investigative-journalist-from-central-casting, and the Wolfe in this book lacks much of the humour that characterised his appearances earlier in the series.

Roger Wayne delivers another enjoyable performance that really rounds out the characters and adds an extra dimension to the story. He differentiates skilfully and clearly between a fairly large group of characters, and injects the right degree of nuance and expression into both narrative and dialogue. He portrays the recurring characters consistently across all the books, and has found suitably ‘alpha hero’ voices for the male leads while also making sure they are easy to identify when they all appear in scenes together. Wolfe’s voice is deep and resonant, Mal’s is soft and husky and Force’s is somewhere in the middle; plus, Mr. Wayne gets to show off his facility with an English accent with the addition of former MI6 operative Jethro (Jet) whose timely arrival enables him to step up at a key moment. His female voices are good, too; never too high-pitched or over-exaggerated, and are clearly delineated – I was particularly impressed in the scenes which featured Dana and her mothers and sisters, as all the ladies are easy to tell apart. It’s an excellent performance all round, and Roger Wayne has cemented his place on my list of “narrators to look out for”.

With a fast-paced and intriguing plot, well-written action scenes, plenty of steam and an excellent performance from Roger Wayne, Broken is an entertaining – and recommended – outing for the Deep Ops team.

Rebecca Zanetti’s ‘Broken’ continues a quirky series where a small, almost-forgotten force of misfits band together…and not necessarily get along swimmingly while finding their rocky HEAs en route to saving themselves.

Wolfe and Dana are on 2 separate missions, so it seems, but the story does have a familiar ring to it: together their paths do cross, thanks to Angus Force and with a bit of poking in here and there into each other’s business which enjoying the zing of the attraction between them. Much of it that follows however, is a push-pull-type relationship that has Wolfe focused on his own revenge mission and repetitively insisting that he has nothing he can give Dana while the latter seems determined to push Wolfe into something else that he can’t quite entertain, up until they both realise that their missions (and hearts) are on a collision course.

‘Broken’ is classic RS, though the pacing is slow until the last 30 pages of the book, where most of the action and developments happen which gave the conclusion a bit of a rushed feel. And like many of Zanetti’s books however, ‘Broken’ is a hodgepodge of many moments that I liked, disliked, was engrossed in and then completely put off by (repeat this cycle several times)—and how is this possible?! The dog’s exaggerated behaviour didn’t made me laugh; instead I cringed each time Roscoe was given way too many ‘human abilities’ even if there was meant pure entertainment value in it.

Zanetti does throw some hints here and there about a continuation with some loose ends and new characters; it’s definitely a series I’d follow I think, at least for now though I definitely wish I had more enthusiasm for it.

Please save me from the friends-to-lovers trope where they both want to get together, but we can't. I've read more than my share lately and they are sooooo trite, every one of them. I expected so much more from Wolfe and Dana, who have been dancing around each other from the first book.

Clarence Wolfe is a former Navy SEAL who lost his unit and was severely injured. He is on a one-man personal mission to avenge their deaths. Dana Mulberry keeps distracting him by needing rescue. Dana is a freelance journalist who keeps getting caught up in dangerous situations and needs Wolfe to rescue her. She is also on a personal mission to avenge to death of a journalist friend. Her hang up with Wolfe is that he won't unburden himself to her. They have labeled their relationship as "friendship" and that's fine, if they want to lie to each other, but that makes it really boring when they do it for most of the book.

*I received a free copy of Broken from NetGalley. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*

I love this series so much! A bunch of misfits in a hidden away government group. Acting as detectives, researchers and field agents. And they are all so beautifully flawed it's impossible to not fall for them. And feel for them!
Wolfe and Dana had a terrific story, and I just loved getting to know them better. Seeing them fight. Seeing them love. Seeing them strategize.
Another great installment in the Deep Ops!

Rebecca Zanetti has a brand-new release OUT TODAY!!

Dangerous: Former Navy SEAL Clarence Wolfe’s unit was taken out with a land mine. Injured and devastated, he hasn’t been quite right since. Worse, the tragedy was no accident. All Wolfe wants now is to take down the man responsible. In the meantime, he’s good with being the muscle for the Deep Ops team—and leading a steamy no-strings-attached personal life. Until one intriguing woman changes everything . . .

Determined: Reporter Dana Mulberry is on a mission to avenge the death of a fellow journalist. She’s finally hot on a trail—right to a sex club—where she runs into . . . Wolfe? It seems both their leads have led to the same spot. To keep from blowing their covers, they’ll have to at least pretend to have a little fun. Trouble is, they genuinely like each other. And that’s way too risky for Wolfe, especially when, to his surprise, Dana agrees . . .

Complicated: Drawn to each other in ways they can’t understand, Wolfe and Dana keep it professional—until they’re shot at one night. And when their adventures land them both at the heart of corruption in D.C.—and at odds in their missions—they’ll have to dig deeper than ever to succeed in their quests—and with each other . . .

The story was fun and very entertaining. I got such a kick out of an out-of-control and quirky Vet Roscoe, an alcoholic dog!

Wolfe and Dana were awesome together! They weren't that smooth undercover! I couldn't believe they were drugged with date-rape cocktail while working cases at a BDSM Club! Totally embarrassing! The worst? The result from being outplayed that night? Okay, it was a spoiler! I would just skip it!

Absolutely loved Wolfe and Dana's romantic moments! Loved the fight scenes! Especially my favorite when Wolfe took down a traitorous former teammate. A satisfying way of ending a villain like that definitely earned my five star rating! Sharing one of my favorite scenes:

"There's a place inside you, one you never even know existed, that can be broken. There's an actual sound when it happens, and then your whole body is like a puzzle that doesn't go together any longer." . . .

She relaxed against him, even as her heart hurt for him. "I don't have the right words, but I think the puzzle you've put back in place is a good one. I trust you. It can't be easy, but anything broken can be fixed."

He hugged her closer. The gesture was all the more special for its brevity.

Broken focused on Dana (a reporter) and Wolfe (the muscle man who loves sweets and has a cat in his pocket). Romance happened rather quickly in this book as they have been building up their feelings for each other since book one but have been tethering on the edge of self control. They both went undercover in a sex club for their personal vendettas and found out that the cases are linked. I get that Wolfe put up boundaries to prevent people whom he cares about from getting hurt. But many times like Dana, I wanted to smack him to get some sense into his head!

Rebecca Zanetti writes such fast and thrilling books. Was a good read for me! I can’t wait to read the 4th book about Angus and Nari.

I received an ARC in fan contest. All opinions are my own.

"He watched her, his expression knowing. "Are you about done being a brat."
It was only a semi-fair question. "If I'm not?"
He straightened. "You're not gonna like the answer to the question."

aaaannnndddd, that is a good look at Clarence “Wolfe” and Dana Mulberry.

I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two. I had been waiting for Wolfe's book since the first Deep Ops book, Hidden. I would have to say that I don't think anyone else but Dana could handle Wolfe the way she does (or doesn't in some cases lol.)

Essentially, without spoiling the book here we go.
-Dana is working on a case regarding a friend of hers that has disappeared. Wolfe is working on tracking down the man who is responsible for his military team's death. Lo and behold, their separate investigations take them down the same path and they team up.
-These two go undercover together and end up of course giving into what Wolfe has been denying since Taken where we first met Dana.
- A good amount of action
- A wedding
- A dog wearing heels and eating make up
- A deadly Cat and Mouse game

So did Broken live up to the Deep Ops expectation? Yes, yes it did.

So if you like alpha protectors, independent (occasionally bratty) women, and HEA's go ahead and pick this up. I'll probably come back once the book is released and add more meat to this review. :)

Dana and Wolfe end up at the same BDSM club on the same night both looking for different people because of their jobs. Wolfe was dressed as a Dom while Dana was dressed as a sub and to protect Dana, Wolfe slapped some pink cuffs on her so other Doms wouldn't mess with her. But she was just about to throw a fit when the men they were there to find ended up dead.

Wolfe makes her come back to his place to keep her safe but she's a reporter on a story and staying there under his protection doesn't sit well with her. Once they find themselves in danger again and it looks like not only are bad guys after him but they're after her too, she realizes that she needs to stay with him and his team to stay safe. But staying safe is hard to do when there's more than one bad guy after them. It seemed like no matter where they went, someone was there to try and kill them. Plus there's one guy that Wolfe is talking to and taunting to come and fight him. That guy ends up being a bigger player than he thought he would be in the danger they've been facing but he's determined to keep Dana safe.

Wolfe never wanted to fall for her and doesn't seem to think he's worthy of her or his life is too dangerous to have someone like her in it but they do fall for each other and I'm glad because he's actually a really nice guy underneath it all.

Once Dana finds out what happened to her friend and Wolfe finally gets the fight that he has wanted with his enemy, the danger picks up and they find themselves and parts of his team in some seriously dangerous situations. The action was great, the romance was wonderful and now I'm looking forward to reading more of this series.

Disclosure: I was given an ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Story 4 Stars. Narration 4 Stars
Another good romantic suspense read from the Deep Ops series. Now I am fully invested in this team of misfit special operatives for the government-hidden away in a horrible basement space. There’s always plenty of humor along with the life and death moments and of course the romance. Humor is usually due to an alcoholic dog who steals any alcohol he can get his hands on. There’s no stopping him. Not to mention his love of chewing up high heal shoes when he can find them. Safe to say he’s one of my favorite characters.

This time around it’s Wolf’s turn when he meets and gets to know Dana, an investigative journalist. A friend of hers is missing and she’s on the case to find out what happened. Wolf has his own case he’s been working on since his Navy Seal days when most of his group was killed by a fellow Navy Seal. It’s when their cases intertwine that things get interesting. I enjoyed the whole thing. I loved the characters both the main and the side ones as well. There’s lots of action and violence involved as well. I really thought it was a good listen and especially enjoyed the narrator’s telling of the extreme action scenes. I just wish his female voices were a bit better.
Recommended to adult romantic suspense readers. Very spicy.

Broken is the third installment in the "Deep Ops" series and I have been wanting to get back to this series and get Wolfe's story as he has been teased for a while now. I was really pulled into the audio pretty quickly and I do enjoy this narrator. There is something so well done about the way that Rebecca Zanetti writes her suspense. I just adore how well paced her books are and how they instantly pull you into the story. I really loved the style in which this story was developed. We have a matching of a military secret ops type of hero with a journalist heroine. Normally I hate journalist heroines, but in this one, it was well done and she was so relatable and had a good heart. I enjoyed the BDSM elements that entered into the story and how this couple did what worked for them. I enjoyed the way that these two come together and really find their way together. The romance just seemed to fit for the characters and I enjoyed seeing how it all gets wrapped up in the end. Overall a solid installment of the Deep Ops series and I am eager for the next one. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, then this author is a must read.

I loved, loved, loved this one. The best book in this series so far in my opinion. Wolfe is his unique self while being fulling focused on getting his bad guy and protecting everyone around him. Dana is a strong woman who never lets Wolfe push her around or away in order to keep her safe. They were a well matched couple and even though they bumped heads about how to work their mission together they still worked it out and made a great team. Loved getting to see Wolfe interact with Dana's family, I would read a book just about that if the author decided to write one. And of course we get to spend time with all our other favourites from the team, and we get some really interesting additions to the team that I'm crossing my fingers means even more books since this series has so many great story lines left to tell I think. Looking forward to the next in the series, I wish it was going to be Angus and Nari but I have a feeling they are going to be saved for last lol but who ever it is, I'm still excited to read.

Broken by Rebecca Zanetti is the third book in the Deep Ops series and was as intense and compelling as the previous two books.

I was excited to find out that this one was about Clarence Wolfe who I absolutely adore. How can you not love a large alpha male who rescues a kitten and brings sweet latte drinks for all of his team? Ms. Zanetti introduces a few new characters in this book that I hope will continue to be part of the team as I am intrigued by each of them. The plot was fast paced, filled with action, steamy romance, and an evil psycho from Wolfe's past. Roscoe's antics at a wedding made me laugh out loud which did provide a little relief from the intense storyline. I couldn't put the book down until the end and want the next one in the series now.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Zebra via NetGalley. All of the above opinions are my own.

This latest entry in the Deep Ops series features Clarence Wolfe and reporter Dana Mulberry. If you've read the other books in this series, you know that each of the agents in the Deep Ops series are a bit quirky. Well maybe quirky doesn't quite say it all but you get the drift. Wolfe has plenty of issues but one thing that is never in question is his loyalty to his friends. He will do anything to protect those he loves and he will stop at nothing to get the bad guy. This romantic suspense had plenty of action, romance and some humor especially because of Roscoe, a former bomb-sniffing dog, and his drinking problem. Where else can you find a cast of characters like this? I can't wait to see what is in store for Angus Force and his own personal mission!
