Spoilers ahead (this review is rated R for language please proceed with caution)

Well this is how you fuck up a series, I'm hurt, angry and disappointed so don't try me today with any dumb messages about my review!

So the backstory
In the previous books we knew something had happened between Evie and Tommie, here we found out. Tommie approached Evie one night and they had a sweet little connection until a woman Tommie had hooked up with a few hours before approached him and in front of Evie asked him for a repeat with her friend included this time. Poor innocent Evie assumes the girl is his girlfriend and gets pissed but when she's invited to the sex party she thinks Tommie was setting her up for group sex and knees him in the balls and leaves. Tommie is at first hurt then gets angry and goes back to his manwhore ways.

In the present
Tommie is recovering from the incident that almost killed him, he decides if he can get back in prime physical condition he'd make another attempt with Evie. Fate intervenes and Tommie ends up rescuing her from a fire. He uses this as his entrance into Evie's life and gets her to agree to a few dates.

This is where I got pissed, Tommie was a HUGE MANWHORE I mean the type of guy who his friend would call when a woman wanted a good time, he was the fun loving one of the group but there wasn't a woman dear Tommie turned down. So of course we and Evie get slapped in the face with it from the very first date!!!! Women don't know how to react to Tommie being in a relationship so it takes a while for them to get the message

So he asks for another chance with Evie and they go to church but see Tommie had made his way through the congregation too! From a teen he slept with his mother's friend!!! I mean for fucks sake author!!!! Really??! We get it..... he was community dick! Everybody and their friend had a turn!!! Why do i need the evidence in my face!!!!

I never understand how couples like these are supposed to enjoy their hea, for the rest of your life you'll be running into women that your husband had slept with! At the market "oh there's Janet who Tommie slept with", at the pharmacy "oh there's Elizabeth who Tommie went down on at the bar", at your child's parent meeting "oh there's Mrs Cook who Tommie fucked at".......well you get it right?!!

Then of course who do you reward the greatest manwhore of all times, the mandingo of the little town, with????........Evie a god fearing Christian woman who was a virgin. Listen I threw my kindle.....I did.......this was such bullshit I felt like I wanted to burst out of my skin

But for me the best part was in Evie's internal thoughts where she said she couldn't judge Tommie for who he'd slept with, it wasn't up to her to judge anybody's morals or sexual behavior(I'm paraphrasing here I forgot the actual words) Now at this point it felt like the author was telling me not to judge Tommie for sticking his dick into any warm hole available even after he'd met Evie but guess what?? I'm judging him and find him grossly lacking!

The H being a former manwhore is one thing slapping me in my face with his previous fuckboy behavior and making me feel like I shouldn't judge him is something completely different! If all his ow had been in the previous books and not this one I'd have been able to get over it, because Kier and Con were both manwhores too maybe not on Tommie's level but they got around, but maybe to show how much he had changed for Evie we see Tommie's previous exploits and to make matters worst he was known throughout town as the town's manwhore. Was he a man or a dog in heat?

Tommie had been celibate for a year after being badly hurt in an incident in the previous book, during this year his penis stopped working which the doctor advised was psychological but you know what? Just being around Evie gave good ol Tommie his first boner in a year! Further proof that she was the only one for him(more like the only one he hadn't fucked yet)

I skimmed the rest of the book, by then I wasn't interested in the plot or the hea for the manwhore and his virgin. The best parts were every scene with Kier and Con and their ladies. After the first three books I felt I had discovered an author who delivered on my type of romance only to see from this one that it's the same tired old trend of most contemporary romances out there. I'm so tired of the bs!

The Fire was the fourth book in the Hurricane series by RJ Prescott.

There were so many facets to this story that it was a hard review to organize. First, I loved Tommy. He was the funny, flirty man whore in all the previous books and you couldn’t help but adore him. He was all that and more (minus the man whore) in The Fire. We also learned the depths of his loyalty and the role he played in the family. Who knew? As for Evie, what an unlikely pairing. It took awhile to get there - because hey, polar opposites in every sense - but I enjoyed the journey.

I also loved the bantering between the lifelong friends, their chosen family. It had been awhile since I had read the previous books, but I quickly got back up to speed once all the bantering began. It was comical but built on a foundation of loyalty.

Prescott also introduced a suspenseful plot that ran simultaneously with the relationship development. If the book was divided into four parts, I loved the first, third and fourth parts. The one remaining was a little slow for me but once it took off again, it flew. I would however be remiss if I didn’t mention the numerous editing errors. There were too many to overlook, but the storyline itself was well developed.

No spoilers so no plot elaboration, but Prescott took us through a myriad of emotions. I loved it and it was well worth the read.

I just know that I won’t be able to write a review that will do this book justice. R.J. Prescott has written another incredible story in this incredible book series and my emotions are all over the place right now.

Reading The Fire over the past couple of days has felt like I’ve been back home spending time with family. To say that all the Driscoll boys and their girls have a place in my heart is an understatement. I’ve spent the past few years getting to know them; Watching the family grow; Witnessing them all be there for each other through the good times and the bad, and all under the watchful eye of their amazing father figure, Danny Driscoll.

The Fire is essentially Tommy’s story – The potty mouthed and women loving joker of the family. However, as we’ve seen throughout all the Hurricane series each book doesn’t have us focusing on just one person, we have the pleasure of spending time with all the characters that we’ve grown to love. This is due to them being such a close-knit family, and you rarely see any of the boys without his ‘brothers’. This book wouldn’t have been the same without their interactions. The banter that goes on between them is pure comedy gold. It is lovely that Tommy out of them all will be the one to diffuse a situation and steer it in the direction that it needs to go if required. He is also the glue that keeps them together. The boys each have their own place in this family, and this warms my heart.

I adore Tommy. When the author announced that she was writing his story, I know I shared my excitement alongside many other Hurricane fans. Tommy has the most incredible personality and you know that there isn’t going to be a dull moment when he is around. He has had his struggles over the years, and I can tell you that you will need to grab a box of tissues for a number of scenes throughout the book. When one of the Driscoll boys finds their other half they fall hard, and I absolutely loved witnessing the change in Tommy as he tried to put his bed hopping days behind him and be the man that Evelyn deserves.
They say opposites attract and I don’t think that there are two people more different in so many ways than Tommy and Evelyn. The heart wants what it wants and I was heavily invested in them overcoming the obstacles that stood in the way of them starting and making a relationship work. I held my breath at times as the close-knit Irish community that they are a part of voiced their opinions and acted in a less than desirable way. I love the pairing of Evie and Tommy. She’s the calm to his storm and the considerate to his impulsiveness, but one thing that they have in common is that they both have the biggest hearts and I desperately wanted them to find their HEAs together.

When you open this book, sit back and prepare yourself for an emotional journey. The Fire has everything you’d expect in an amazing story. Emotionally there is love and heartache, joy and sadness, laughter and tears, and let’s not forget the angst! This book will have you feeling every emotion possible and it will be hard to read at times, but I know that this story is going to stay with you for a very long time….. it certainly will with me.

I honestly didn’t want to finish reading this book. I didn’t want my time with the Driscoll boys to end. I couldn’t have asked for a better story for Tommy – it is perfect! R.J. Prescott always has a wonderful way with words and I know that’s why I feel such a connection to her characters. I’m now left with the biggest book hangover possible, but I will always live in hope that I'll be back with the family once again, one day in the future.

This is Tommy and Evelyn's book.

Tommy has been the fun loving joker of the group but in this book after having to recover from the 'accident' from The Storm, previous book, he has re-evaluated his life as is determined to go after Evelyn.

It's not essential to have read the previous books in the series as there is a small recap of circumstances of his need for a recovery but it does build on relationships throughout the series so I would recommend reading the series in order.

Tommy had a reputation for being a huge man-whore previously so I was concerned if as a reader we would continue to see this behaviour but it's in the past.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Memory mentioned of a woman giving him oral but it's vague.

There is a memory of his first meeting Evelyn and more detail about how he messed up which I don't think the reader was privy to before.

There are a few references to previous hook-ups and some of the characters refer to his reputation at times but there are no detailed scenes.

A couple of other woman scenes but Tommy is all for Evelyn.

Evelyn does a small amount of pushing away at the start but Tommy is pretty relentless and doesn't give her much of a chance to go far.
Possible trigger maybe was a threat of rape for the heroine from enemy threat.

Sometimes when the Hero is a previous man-whore type it can be difficult to believe he will be satisfied to stick with one woman but Tommy is very determined.
That said after his accident he has had some let's say 'physical issues' since the accident that he is told is psychological and these are resolved with Evelyn.
She is a strictly religious so she believes in no sex before marriage, so obviously she is a virgin.
So again a man-whore and virgin story.... Sigh.

There is fantastic banter between Tommy, Connor and Keiran which is at times hilarious.
All the previous characters are there as well as some next generation additions.
Some very touching scenes with Danny.

I feel bad not giving it a higher rating but I'm not sure if it's me I'm in a bit of a book funk after just reading a 5 star read which has been hard to follow but at times I found it a bit cheesy.

There is a lot of bad language, it's quite prolific at times and I wondered if although Tommy is described as a having a dirty mouth there needed to be so much of it.

I was blown away by the first two books in the series and this book was long awaited so maybe I've just cooled off from the series but I was a bit bored to be honest.
I reserve the right to give it higher starts on a re-read if I ever do.

It seems to be the end of the series but there are a plethora of characters introduced at the Firehouse where Tommy works, if the author wanted to go down that route or later a next generation series.
The epilogue was very sweet with the three boys and their kids.
Extra epilogue from Danny.
HEA for everyone.

"I’ll be the last man to ever hold your hand. I bet that pisses you off, huh?"

“If you put those over-used lips anywhere near me, so help me God, Thomas Riordon, I will knee you so hard, you’ll be cryin’ for a week,”

“To the most beautiful Irish girl I know…Violets are blue, roses are thorny, please be my girlfriend, cause I am horny.”

"Any douchebag can be in a relationship. Doesn’t mean he knows fuck all about women or how they like to be treated"

"Years of womanizing and I’m supposed to believe that you’ve had some sort of overnight epiphany and now I’m the only one for you!"

Gah, I'm going back to reviewing all the books I forgot to fully review last here.

What to say here? I loooooved the Hurricane, the first book in this series. Somehow, it felt different, despite fitting the genre perfectly. Lovely characters, great male lead and compassionate relatable heroine. Then Kieran's book came out, and it was good. Not great, but good. Now we got Tommy... and it just wasn't up to par.

Tommy was never my favorite character but I thought it could be an interesting read when I found out who he was going to be paired with. The manwhore with the super religious virgin. Not too original, but always fun. Then the story began and I just couldn't get behind them as a couple. Their interactions always felt very superficial and their story was so quick I never got to see their connection truly develop.

There was an attempt made at giving them a backstory and I couldn't remember reading it in the previous books so it all seemed built in the air for me. The plot per se wasn't bad and I did feel for them in a couple moent of danger, but overall the lack of chemistry or any reason why these two should be together ruined it for me.

Another thing that didn't sit well with me was the ending. I don't mind bad things happening to characters, death and loss. But this whole book was so surface level that taking away the entire last portion to actually make it about someone else's... it did't help.

I'm kind of disappointed that this is the direction this series has taken. The first book has great elements: relatable heroine, brooding protective hero, the whole boxing atmospher and environment, the suspense element given by Emily's stalker/assailant, and a sweet and sexy love story. This last instalment had a male character that spent half the book reminding everyone how much of a man whore he is, a heroine with no backbone, and maybe one incident in the entire book which could make my adrenaline spike. Everything else fell flat.

terrible book. Hated it. The author mentions his man-whore ways over and over. Seriously. In the first 30% it has been mentioned at least 15 times. The real icing on the cake was him talking about sleeping with his mom's friends. Why should I like him? No redeemable qualities.

No character development. I know nothing about him, except that he sleeps with everything and that fact is always being thrown in the girl's face. Like in the FIRST DATE when ow ask for a three some (or foursome) after he introduced her as his girlfriend. I hated this book. I'm tired of man-whores and virgins. And this guy was especially disgusting. He doesn't deserve her, doesn't deserve to be called a "hero". The heroine dreams of great love like "Darcy" or "Peeta" and the author puts her with this trash. So upsetting. Nothing he can do can convince me otherwise. Did I mention I hated this book?

UPDATE: At 35% they share their first kiss. . .And then he IMMEDIATELY tells her he has kissed hundreds of other girls. At first she says " I bet you have kissed dozens of others" and he corrects her and says, "no, hundreds of others". WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS AUTHOR!?!? I think I have to DNF now.

Tommy finally gets his book!

I've loved Tommy since the first book and I was so happy when his book finally came out. He was always the funny guy, the first one to help out his friends, but he was also the biggest man-ho as well. I thought it was great that his other half was a good Catholic, church-going virgin. They made the perfect couple.

This was a great book! I love Ireland and the Irish people and the fact that it was a huge part of the storyline made me so happy. Tommy is hilarious, he's always bringing people up when they're sad and he would do anything for anyone. Evelyn is a strong woman, even though she's been emotionally beaten down by her mom. She doesn't judge others and is kind to people even when they don't deserve it. Tommy and Evelyn fit perfectly together and I enjoyed their story. The side characters made the story that much better and I'm definitely going to go back and read the first three books!

Loved this story, fun characters, and well paced.

How is this book getting all these great reviews? The story was so boring and I couldn’t stand the level of immaturity Tommy had. We’re constantly being reminded of what a man-whore he was before he started pursuing Evie.
Seriously did the author have to even include him sleeping with his mothers church friends. I hated the foul language that came out of his mouth when he spoke to Evie. It wasn’t even dirty it was just straight crude and inappropriate. Only thing I liked was the humorous banter between Tommy, Kieran & Con.

I really wish more people would read this series ~ please pick up these books because I need the author to write more!!!!! I stumbled upon this series about 5 years ago - it was only a duet at the time. Book 1...the hurricane - You meet Con the boxer, his girl Em, Danny The Gym Owner, his neighborhood Irish friends, Father Pat and all the many wonderful characters!!! Book 2 The Aftermath continues on with life at the boxing gym and the guys. Eventually the series expanded with Kieran's story in book 3 The Storm and finally Tommy's story here in book 4. They were all so good!!! I am so sad that there are no more.

If you love series' about hardworking men, their ladies, Irish and English culture, kids who fight their way to the top, Loyalty, family, boxing, and of course the fiercest love, the best banter and chemistry, and enough to shed a tear over all of them!! My only regret is I didn't do a binge read on this that I had to wait years in between which just means I will definitely be rereading this series again some day!!

I was given a copy of this book by the New Adult Book Club and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

Just like so many other readers who read and loved ‘The Hurricane’ series, I was waiting ‘patiently’ for Tommy’s story to be released. So I was very excited when I discovered that the writer R.J. Prescott had writing it! Before reading ‘The fire’ I did a reread of the previous books in this new adult series and I’m very glad that I did. Because I rediscovered just how much I loved this series and how funny Tommy was. So I was happy that the writer kept Tommy’s unfiltered thoughts and mouth in this story but that we also got to see a serious side of him. In other words, I liked the ‘grown up’ version of Tommy but I loved the fact that the adult Tommy still had this youthful, playful, even naïve side in him. Tommy will always be Tommy no matter what age he is. Evelyn was also a very likeable character and the fact that she worked in a library and loved books, well that made her almost perfect in my eyes ;o)

However, the differences between Evelyn and Tommy couldn’t have been bigger. He has been with a lot of women (and I really mean a lot!) and she is still a virgin. She’s very serious, quiet and shy and he’s very playful, impulsive and loud. But still, they were so perfect for each other. They had each other back in every situation and they really stood up for each other. Evelyn really made Tommy work for every date and I loved that. The story is told in both POV’s.

But although I enjoyed the story and the last part was very emotional and very unexpected (and I’m still not sure what to feel about it), I still thought that the end felt a little bit rushed. I would have LOVED to read about Tommy’s and Evelyn’s wedding night. Just like Tommy, I was looking forward to read about their first ‘real’ night together. I was very grateful for the other epilogues that we got in the end, I enjoyed those very much but I just missed a scene where they made love for the first time (but that’s my personal view). One other thing that I also missed in this story was the presence of Earnshaw in this story. Although he’s mentioned in the story, I never really felt his presence in it.

I liked ‘The fire’ but the first two books of this series are still my favourite ones.

After the years of waiting for Tommy’s story, The Fire is finally here and it’s fantastic! This story is sweet, funny and emotional! I laughed so hard with Tommy’s sunny attitude and then I cried buckets of tears with some heartbreaking scenes. R.J. Prescott has succeeded in making us invest in this family of fighters and I loved being back with them.

Tommy has always been a womanizer but then he meets Evelyn, the shy girl and he sees only her. Evelyn though does not want to give him a chance but the man knows how to push some boundaries. These two might be opposites but they are so good for each other!

Tommy is the jokester, a young man with a heart of a child. He is unapologetically honest, he has no filter and despite that he brings all the laughter in his group of friends, he is sensitive and feels everything deeply. He might have been a player but when he falls in love, he is romantic and devoted.

Evelyn is a quiet bookworm, a girl who follows the church values, so she cannot see how she can match with the dirty mouthed man. Tommy hides though a pure heart and she cannot not fall in love with him.

These two are so funny together. Tommy uses humor in everyday situations and even in difficult times, he can lighten everyone’s hearts. Evelyn is more serious but with Tommy, she finds her independence and her spirited nature. There is an insta-love feeling but they are so cute together. Although, they do have intimate scenes, the author preferred not to show us any sexual intercourse and it is the only thing I missed a little.

I highly recommend reading the previous books because you will feel everything more intensely. Throughout the books, you will see these boys growing up and finding their happily ever after and as they are a family, you will want to know what happened before.

I love R.J. Prescott’s writing! She is an author that has an easygoing style and it’s like watching a movie. Her characters are always so realistic!

The Fire has everything and it is full of contradictions! It has joy and sadness. It brings smiles and tears! Above all though, the love and the sense of family shines! I do not want this series to end!

Omg! I never realised just how much I had missed the lives of the men And women of Driscoll's Gym. The banter, laughs and just down right brotherhood. Make you feel like you are home. I have waited a long time for Tommy Riordon's book and I wasn't disappointed. As in true RJ Prescott style when her men fall they fall hard and fast.

Now this book as with the others has an edge to it. There is a story running behind the romance. It always makes my heart race with fear that something bad is gonna happen. But that is for the reader to discover. At the start we see Tommy has decided his heart wants what it wants and there is no stopping him when it comes to Evelyn.

This story contains it all. Total opposites attract, fun, laughter, family in the shape of blood and the family we choose for ourselves in our friends, heartache, sadness and a will to over come obstacles to really get what you want. Through this story you see a different side to Tommy, underneath the clown is a man that loves with his all and for me Evelyn was everything he needed and more.

This story isn't plain sailing, far from it. The angst is real, it takes some heart and passion to get on a footing where they can work through anything especially if it's what you want and need.

Yet again RJ Prescott tells a story, that will once again stay with me. The Hurricane is where it all began for me again when I started reading again 5 years ago, it changed my mood and mind set and this book has done the same. I was in a rut, sad and nearly stopped reading. But again this authors words made me smile again at the thought of reading a book.

#227 - 2019
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Too bad I haven't read the first three books, I'd love the series. I like the characters of Tommy and Evie. The difference between their characters make the start of their relationship not too easy. Many problems come because of this. I love how tight knit the friendships of Driscoll's boys, they are thick like siblings.

Thomas met Evie, but he was failed to date her because of his being playboy. Two accidents make them closer again, and Thomas does everything to change himself to get Evie, but it's not as easy as he gets one-night stand girl.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.

I knew I was going to like it. I freaking knew it! For some reason, I really love this type of books – where a womanizer gets totally smitten by a good girl, who “makes him want to be a better man” and then he actually CHANGES for her. I love it even though I’m very well aware that the chances for it to happen in the real life are close to none.

But let’s start from the beginning!

The story begins with our hero – Tommy – recovering from a serious injury that almost ended his carreer as a firefighter, and Evelyn, the girl whom he actually wanted to get to know but – due to some misunderstanding – now hated his guts, visiting him in a hospital during the night, when she was certain that he’s asleep. I still don’t get why she was doing that but, well, I guess she’s just THAT good of a person.
And Tommy was instantly hooked.
Yes, it was very much an insta-love but I’m one of the small percentage of people who actually don’t mind it in general.
Anyway, after a fire Tommy saves Evelyn from, he grows determined to convince her that he’s worth at least a chance. And how could she say “no” to the guy who saved her life? And that’s how it all begins.

I really liked the relationship they had with each other! It was clear how much of a bond they shared, full of understanding and mutual support and they were so freaking sweet with each other, I just couldn’t help but smile while reading about them!I do have to admit that the things were moving very fast, the L words got exchanged really early and, honestly, it shocked me how quickly Tommy started thinking about marriage… But, weirdly, I didn’t mind that either.
I love how Evelyn made peace with her mother and how she was dealing with the endless stream of former hook-ups of Tommy’s that kept popping out everywhere they went.
And, oh my goodness, Danny! I know that having read only one book in that series saved me a possible fountain of tears as I wasn’t as attached to him as I would be after following the story from the very beginning but I still was shaken up by the events near the end! And the epilogue being told from his perspective only made my heart hurt more for him!

Someone might wonder why is my rating only four stars when I liked it that much… Well, there were a few things that made me hesitant about it… First of all, I was a bit confused at the beginning of the story, but that’s mostly my fault. I mean, who starts a series from book FOUR?! Also, the dialogs felt stiff and unnatural in some places. Like the scene somewhere at the beginning, when Tommy and Evelyn’s brother were having a talk about Tommy’s intentions and such… No brother would react that way – practically giving his blessing when he knows very well that the guy’s trouble. And if Tommy’s reputation wasn’t enough to make any brother wary, he started spewing some nonsense about a marriage. After just a few days of pursuing the girl! Also the dialog between Evelyn and her mother after attending the mass… It felt forced and a bit awkward, making me wince while reading…

Overall though, it’s a light read, full of the male character’s cocky remarks that added some humor to the story and made me fall a bit more for Tommy. It also kept me on my toes with that sprinkle of suspense thrown in by the mysterious fires set in a suspiciously similar way around town and the bad guys targetting our heroine.

I know I won’t ever be able to put into words just how much I loved this story . There isn’t enough words in the dictionary to describe adequately, but I’m going to give it a shot anyway .

R.J Prescott .... this Author speaks my language, her stories, words and characters reach a part of me like no other . I Adore her and think her brilliance is untouchable, her talent is endless and I’m a forever fan.

Ever since I read ‘The Hurricane’ I have been hooked with the whole Driscoll boys and their girls. There is so much heartache in every story, so much is shone on the ‘underdog’ theme (which I love) the down and out guys that have nothing but courage, heart and the love of a family which is borne out of respect, loyalty and is not out of blood. It’s a chosen family and the more you read about them , the more they feel like your own.

Tommy !!!! Oh boy I thought I was in love before ‘The Fire’ but once you read his story , you can’t help but become even more obsessed with him .
He is the glue that keeps them all together, yes he is the jokester and all the boys give him crap but there are so many sweet, beautiful layers to him he just shined in this book.
He is a supremely strong character, he’s got the heart of a lion and so many beautiful attributes you can’t help but love everything about who he is. He met his match with Evelyn, she was a bit broken but oh so strong too. Though Tommy Drove her batshit crazy , he also gives her the wings to fly, to become who she’s always meant to be through love, guidance and a whole heap of respect . R.J wrote her so perfectly for him . I wanted a woman who would be deserving and she was that and so much more.

I won’t give anything away ... you need to experience it all for yourselves, but prepare!!! (Tissues... and LOADS of them)
This is SO emotional 😭 I haven’t ugly cried like that in a long time . My heart broke , I literally could feel it crack and my eyes were so puffy and sore , but R.J knows how to balance all the elements to make the most perfect story real and believable.

This story is about family , it’s about courage, hope and so much love . I can’t say enough about how much I loved it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ was given so easily but it deserves more .

If you haven’t read this series I would start with ‘The Hurricane’ you get a much better understanding of the characters and it’s where all the magic started .

Tommy is my favorite of Driscoll's boys. So I was happy I started this series so late, so I didn't have to wait that long for Tommy's story.

Tommy's story starts with him being in the hospital where his leg is pretty useless and he has to learn to walk again. For him its Evelyn or Evie who gets him through it. With the promise he gives himself, when he learn to go and is a Firefighter again, he will come after her. It happens faster than Tommy thinks when he saves Evelyn from a fire.

I loved Thomas "Tommy" and Evelyn "Evie". For me they were perfect for each other. I loved their banter. We also saw the rest of Driscoll's gang. Their family bond is so amazing and is one of the main reasons I love these books so much.

I gave the book 5 stars. There were maybe some scenes I wish I could have seen, but it was fantastic. In The Storm, it was Kieran and Liam's stories. In this one it was Tommy and Danny's.

Danny's story destroyed me, I AM NOT OKAY. I don't know what to do with myself now that The Hurricane series is over. Cross your fingers for a 2 generation series with all the kids.

Wow, just wow! I’ve been patiently waiting for Tommy’s story for a long time and I have to say the wait was so worth it!

I absolutely devoured this book from beginning to end, i was gutted when I finished the last page, reading this book was like coming home to family and being engulfed in a huge hug. While reading this book, I laughed, ugly cried, swooned and cringed at some of the things that came out of Tommy’s mouth! Finding his soul mate didn’t change Tommy one bit, he was still the loveable rouge with charm by the bucket load I fell in love with in the first book.

I absolutely loved who he ended up with, she is his total opposite and the pairing surprised a few of their family and friends. Not everyone was happy for them and didn’t make things easy for them, they have a bumpy road to get their happy ever after. I loved that we don’t just get one Driscoll boy, we get them all. It’s great to catch up with them all and see how they are doing, be prepared, tissues will be needed and Mebes alcohol too! I’m sad that the journey is over for now, but I’m also excited to see what awesomeness the author comes up with next, wish I could give more than 5*.

Amazing. Smouldering. Breathtaking. Heartwarming. Heartbreaking. Hilarious.

I could seriously shout so loud about this long awaited, long anticipated book & all its goodness forever & a day. I’ve always loved Tommy & gosh, be still my beating heart, for he truly got the most phenomenal story to call his own.

RJP has truly has written the most beautiful story of pure, gods honest love. Of two complete opposites, who fall in love, no matter the obstacles life throws at them. They never give up on each other or on who they are individually, which made this pair claim a huge piece of my heart as their own

The Fire is sad & painful. It’s funny & cheeky. It’s thought provoking & emotional. It’s joyous & uplifting. So much love has been poured into Tommy & Ev’s story that it’s blinding & beyond beautiful.

A 6 stunning star read for me.

Read this book

OMG 😍. This book was the 4th in The Hurricane series and it was completely awesome. It ties Danny's, Tommy's and all of the rest of the Driscoll boys stories well. It is a must read.

This is really bitter-sweet for me. I loved this whole series and I wanted to know how it all ended...BUT...now that it's over, I'm a little sad. I want more from this great group of people that stole my heart.

At first I had a hard time connecting with Evelyn. She's so pious and meek towards her mother. I wanted her to get a backbone and fight back. When she learns the truth, she takes steps to start her own life...and thank goodness it includes Tommy. He is hilarious and has absolutely no filter. He also cares deeply for his family and is the glue that holds them all together.

I totally cried when Father Pat read Danny's letter.

3.5 Stars. I liked the Tommy and Ev, but I felt that this book was safe and did nt really take any chances like the first book The Hurricane. There were no gut-wrenching moments that pulled at my heart. Many readers had issues that Ev was a virgin and Tommy was a man whore, but once Tommy met Ev, all that stopped. I know it is a double standard virgin/man whore stories, but I love them.

The writing was good. The ending was sad, but it was a closure for the series.

I paid $3.99 for the book and I have no regrets.

The Fire was one hell of an emotional RollerCoaster and not what I expected at all from Tommys book. I don't mean that in a bad way just a way that knocked me on my A$$ its an amazing addition to the series. I loved Tommy and Evie together.

The strong message that family is who you choose them to be is one of the reasons I love this series so much.
With each book there's interaction from all the characters their bonds are strong and they always have each others backs.

I have always loved Tommy from the other books in this series. His personality is as big as his ego he says exactly what he feels and makes zero apologies for it. It's impossible not to love the Joker of Driscoll Gym.
Tommy Riordon is one sinfully addictive Firefighter, he certainly ignited a fire in me.🔥

RJ Prescott is one of my fav author. Her writing and her stories are like her. Sweet, funny, generous, wise, human... It's like a big hug that warm your heart and makes you addicted.
She creates the perfect husbands (they're all mine and i don't share!!!), the perfect friends, the perfect heroines (sensitive and strong)... They all make the perfect family.
THE FIRE is the fourth book in The Hurricane series. We already love so much every character and it's such a joy to spend time with them again. We missed them!!! Every Driscoll guys, their wives, their babies, their families, Father Pat, Danny... We'll never have enough!!!! When i've finished this book i wanted more! I'll always want more !
TOMMY... Tommy Riordon is a sweet and funny man who sadly talks before thinking. He can be crude and vulgar and sometimes i wanted to tell him "just stop talking!!". But we wouldn't love him that much if he was different. He knows how he is and he is unapologetic.
He is funny, when things get hard he's the one who make others smile and laugh. He's selfless, always there for people he loves, helping them in every way possible. He's sweet and cute and adorable (yes even if he's hot and built like a fighter!). He's wise... he knows how to treat the woman he loves. He's caring. Evelyn's needs and happiness are his priority. I can go on and on like that...
He was a manwhore, he's crude, so not my type at first... But he's the best friend you could have, and when he finds the one, the love of his life... he's perfect with her. You have no choice but falling crazy in love with him.
At the beginning of the book Tommy proves how brave he is... But he proves it through the whole story after that. Tommy is a firefighter. He shows how those incredible men (and women) are selfless, courageous, passionate, dedicated. We see him working, i really liked that part, that was fascinating. Not too much, just the perfect amount of details.
Our heroine, Evelyn, is soooo different from Tommy. She's shy, pious, a sweet and introverted librarian. But she also has the biggest heart ever. She's even too kind with some people... Fortunately she has an amazing big brother... and the love of a stubborn and caring man : "I'd never met someone as effervescent and full of life. It made me feel more alive, just to be around him."
RJ Prescott used her fav ingredients. Love at first sight. Men who adore and cherish their girls. Women who fight for their freedom and their happiness. Men and women who become the best version of themselves. Epic and deep and true and romantic love. Friends always supportive. A bit of angst, of revenge, of crualty, of sadness (yep sorry you're gonna cry), a lot of wisdom (father Pat is awesome!), a lot of humor (Tommy made me laugh out loud), a lot of hope... A lot of love.
The Fire ends with a real closure (pretty intense and heartbreaking and heartwarming... ) but i cross my fingers... Maybe one day we'll have more of our Driscoll guys (MY Driscoll guys.)
The magic is here once again. We feel surrounded by love from beginning to end. Thank you so much Rebecca, my mother in law !
