COUNTRY GOLD

A second chance...

A scandal ended the careers of the Wilder Sisters, the chart topping country rock band. But Lexi Wilder is okay with that, thanks for asking. She's been on the road since roughly forever, so she's going to enjoy the break. After all, there's nothing quite like the beautiful sandy beaches of Monterey Bay to soothe a woman's soul. Luke Wyatt never wanted to trade fame and fortune for the only woman he's ever loved. Now that he's finished a punishing year-long national tour he's headed back to his hometown of Whistle Cove for the quiet, the beaches, the inspiration, and the girl. Not necessarily in that order. Nashville wants more country gold like the #1 song he co-wrote with Lexi. Luke is looking for peace and Lexi.

But Lexi hasn't forgiven him for choosing fame over her…

SHE'S COUNTRY STRONG

A sexy and emotional enemies to lovers romance!

Sabrina Wilder’s scandal derailed her singing career, so when there’s interest from Nashville in staging a comeback, an image consultant is hired to repair her tarnished halo. But the handsome man she meets is stubborn, bossy, and issues orders. He wouldn’t recognize the word “please” if it lassoed him.

This Texas rancher is a fixer…

Damien “D.C” Caldwell works with celebrities to repair their damaged images. Now, he’s amassed a large enough fortune to retire and return to his beloved Texas. Tasked for one last job, D.C. heads to the beach town of Whistle Cove, California for what should be an easy fix.

When one night in Hollywood turns their relationship into a tailspin, these two opposites suddenly can’t stay away from each other. But they’re headed in two different directions for very different lives.

He’s headed to his ranch and a lifetime of peace and solitude…

She’s headed back to the bright lights of Nashville and a very public life…

A COUNTRY WEDDING

When Rhett Hunt proposes a fake engagement, Jessie Wilder shouldn't say yes...

Rhett is country music royalty, so when he's asked to attend the celebrity wedding of the year at a resort, he agrees. He plans to hide out in the small beach town, relax, and regroup. But when he’s faced with a younger woman’s obsession with him, Rhett knows just how to discourage her. And he wants Jessie to help.

Like nearly every other woman in America, Jessie crushed on the hot and hunky Rhett. Sandwiched between her two beautiful sisters, Jessie has never received much attention from men. When Rhett draws her into a fake engagement, it’s her chance to prove to the rest of the world that she’s no longer an ugly duckling. She’ll be sure to protect her heart, but for now she’s going to play along.

Until fake becomes too real…

Heatherly Bell, ‘Country Hot’.
A Wilder Sisters anthology books 1-3.

As an HG ARC reader I received a free copy and promised an honest review. Here it is.

Rating: 4,5 (of 5 stars).

In general: Sweet country sisters’ love life trilogy.

Book 1. ‘Country Gold’.
Main characters.
- Luke Wyatt (29).
His hometown was Whistle Cove (Cal). He dislikes this small town for his father is a convicted murderer, so his family has a bad reputation.
He had a love affair with Lexi Wilder, but now she’s pissed off for he chose fame over her and went on tour for almost a year. And wrote songs about their break up that were very personal. She feels used by him.
- Lexi Wilder (28).
The oldest of the three Wilder sisters. With her sisters she had - coached by her loving, ambitious parents - a very successful country music girls-band. She gave Luke, in spite of his reputation, his first chance in the country music scene and wrote the song that made him famous. But due to a sexy PR scandal of Lexi’s youngest sister Sabrina, the Wilder Sisters band broke up and Luke started his own, very successful career.
Lexi is now - with her sisters - owner of the family’s B&B in Whistle Grove. But the B&B is struggling. So Lexi has to write and sell new songs, but this pressure is blocking her creativity.
After his tour Luke returns to Whistle Castle and stays at the Wilder Sisters B&B. Luke and Lexi learn that they still love each other but - especially for Lexi - it’s difficult to trust him again.

Book 2. She’s Country Strong’
Main character.
- Damien ‘D.C.’ Caldwell (32).
He’s a celebrity fixer, a talented, successful PR manager who earned, 32 years old, enough money to retire. Asked by Luke Wyatt for a last assignment, he travels to Whistle Cove to save Sabrina Wilder’s (26) career.
- Sabrina Wilder (26).
She’s a very talented, gorgeous looking singer. When she trusted the wrong man she was young and a bit naive. So she damaged herself and her family.
With the help of Damien she has to learn how to behave as a celebrity, trust the right people and discover what she really wants in her life. But falling in love with him makes all this a complicated process.

Book 3. ‘A Country Wedding’.
Main characters:
- Jessie Wilder.
Drummer of the girls-band ‘Wilder Sisters’. After the break up of the band Lexi and Sabrina stayed in the country music scene, but Jessie became the manager of the ‘Wilders Sister’ B&B of her retired grandma. She - a perfectionist organizer - has great ambitions to renovate the B&B into a top location for weddings. So when her sister Lexi (now a very succesful songwriter) wants to marry in the family B&B, Jessie wants an event with a lot of publicity and as many as possible celebrities.
- Rhett Hunt (32).
Famous country music star. Almost constantly ‘on tour’ around the world. He loves composing and performing, but after many years of touring the live of constantly traveling starts to bore him. It feels like a ‘burn out’. So when he’s invited for Lexi’s marriage party, he rearranges his schedule to have a holiday week without his musical obligations.
When Rhett arrives at the B&B as one of the first guests, Jessie welcomes him a bit rude. In their youth they once had a date because their dads were friends. Jessie had the impression that Rhett made a joke to another girl of her being ‘chubby’. She was hurt and since then reading about his womanizing a lot, she thinks he’s a ‘bad boy’. In the days before the wedding Rhett is a bit harassed by two women and he ‘flies’ into a fake engagement with Jessie, hoping to discourage his annoying fans. Jessie accepts the arrangement for she learned that Rhett is not the man who’s only focussed on himself and his career.
Then the author, Heatherly Bell, describes how the fake engagement - with ups and downs - turns into a real commitment.

The trilogy is an easy to read story, well written, with nice, sassy dialogues and many wonderful characters. The plots (especially book 3) are sometimes a bit unoriginal or incredible. I.e.: Jessie (a pleasant, professional host) has a rude attitude after her negative interpretation of Rhett’s one short remark during a date more than 10 years ago.
But, for me - all in all - the books (in particular Sabrina’s and Damien’s story) were a pleasure to read.

Country Gold
Let me start by saying I loved Luke. He’s sweet and charming and he completely adores Lexi. Lexi on the other hand drove me to distraction. She absolutely still loves Luke, but she’s bitter and vindictive and blames him for problems she’s more than half the cause of. This pair certainly has chemistry. The sparks between them sizzle from the page, and they don’t even have to be in the scene together for the reader to feel it. I started this series because I received a review copy for the third sister, and I hate starting a series anywhere other than the beginning. I’m glad I started here. These are some fascinating characters and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next for them.
She's Country Strong
I loved this book even more than the first one. Sabrina may be the youngest of the three Wilder sisters, but she seems to be the one that knows her own mind the best. And yes, that’s my polite way of saying she’s probably the most stubborn of the them all. Damien has a very clear plan of where his life is going next, and one little sprite of a former country musician isn’t going to derail his plans. Right? Like with her sister and Luke, you can see the sparks flying from the moment we first see Sabrina and Damien together. They intuitively know just which buttons to push to get the reaction they’re looking for and it’s fascinating to sit back and watch. I loved seeing the way Damien built back her trust in her own judgement, showing her she could make good decisions for herself. I was also proud of the way he was finally able to let go of some of the anger from his past to be able to move forward with Sabrina. I can’t wait to read all about the last Wilder sister now.
A Country Wedding
When I received the opportunity for a review copy of this book, I knew I wanted to go back and start this series from the beginning. I’m glad I did. I can see that this book would stand just fine on its own, but there’s something special about having experienced the connection between all three Wilder sisters from their own points of view. It always seems to be the quiet ones that have the deepest, most turbulent emotions. Both Jessie and Rhett embody those qualities. In spite of a rocky start when they were younger, now they recognize a kindred spirit in one another. Can a fake engagement lead them to discover real feelings or will they find that the ones they fooled the most were themselves? This book was a rocky emotional roller-coaster ride. It swung me from howling with laughter to nearly bawling my eyes out. When I got to the end of the book, my only thought was ‘no, it can’t be over already’. Over the course of this series I’ve fallen in love with the Wilder sisters and I’m sad to say goodbye to them.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Hidden Gems Books.

The plot was endearing and great to read.
I wanted to live there.

4-3-2

This set is worth the read.
Country GOLD - Loved this story. Lexus and Luke just fit. Their love seemed natural and connected. I would rate it 4 stars.

Country Strong - I wanted to like this story. Loved the title, D. C. The hero, but I could not like Sabrina even at the end. Good thing he was a billionaire. He would need it. I could not even read the whole story I wound up skipping here and there trying to like it and hoping for a change but alas still could not find the connection between the two other than she constantly needed rescuing from her stupid self. I rarely do this. I read 200+ books a year and maybe do this to 5 of them. Good thing the other two stories come in this set, only reason I have it a 4 cause this story is a 2 or less to me.

Country Wedding with Rhett and Jessie was a nice change of pace. I would rate it 3 stars. I liked the characters, the story line, and the connection. It moved a little slow at times but was a great quick read.

Absolutely Country Hawt!

I really enjoyed all three books! The camaraderie between the sisters is awesome! I also like that the characters seem to have real life issues that normal people face...like naïvely trusting the wrong person and doing something out of character that comes back to haunt you. Also, the insecurity of the body and not feeling adequate. These are very real issues and I’m glad to see writers touch on the subjects. Definitely would recommend these books to anyone!

Truly Beautiful!

An amazing compilation of three sisters and their journey in music and love. Their grandmother is a hoot. Can't beat the ocean for a peaceful place to be. Lexi Sabrina and Jessie are each other's best friend having grown up on the road touring. Now they run the family B&B. Each has a unique talent and the love of their life is just as unique.

Wonderfully written

Strong women and men. The story of how hard life on the road is. How the feeling of loneliness in a crowd can be for anyone especially a star. The girls are amazing strong independent and yet want to be treasured by their men. Men who are willing to treasure and support their women, and be taken care of too. Must be 18

Meet the Wilder Sisters, each book is a great HEA story for each sister. This is a new author for me and what better way to get to know their work than with a collection. Each book is a well written, smooth flowing story that is sure to capture your heart. Each of the Wilder sisters has their own challenges for finding their HEA but we have three great men that seem determined to win their hearts. Love is not always easy but it is always worth it. Enjoy!

What a perfectly wonderful set of romances!

This set of three standalone romances gives us the stories of the three Wilder sisters as they return from a scandal and find their own heroes. Luke and Lexi start off the set with their heartwarming second-chance romance, followed by Sabrina and her delicious fixer, Damien. Finally, as Luke and Lexi's wedding nears, Jessie embarks on a fake engagement with her celebrity crush, Rhett.

Each of these were wonderfully written with exquisitely developed characters and amazing emotional depth. I fell in love with the entire Wilder family, and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this unforgettable romance collection. If you love country music (who doesn't?) and memorable romances, this set was written for you. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I'll review each book in this trilogy separately...

Country Gold: Lexi and Luke's story. I loved this one! These two are perfect together and Luke obviously cares about her family as much as he does Lexi. These two were together for several years while Luke was working first as a roadie then as a backup musician for The Wilder Sisters band (Lexi played guitar and wrote their songs). Youngest sister Sabrina makes the mistake of sending a topless photo to a guy she thought she could trust and he in turn sold it to a tabloid. Thus effectively ending the girls career. Luke is given the opportunity to become a solo artist and is a huge hit - thanks in large part to a song he penned with Lexi. Luke has never been on the receiving end of overwhelming (and unwanted) attention from adoring female fans so he doesn't initially handle fame all that well in the beginning. Lexi had the buffer of her family to protect her from a lot of that while she and her sister were touring, however, when she's at home and it's Luke who is now thrust into the limelight and struggling with overly eager fans well... let's just say she doesn't handle it the way she should. After wrapping his tour Luke returns to his hometown to win Lexi back and prove that she's always been the only one for him.

She's Country Strong: Sabrina and Damien's story. I enjoyed this one too. Sabrina is the youngest of the sisters and she was responsible for the downfall of their band. Now that Lexi has decided to return to Nashville, and the music industry, with Luke, they're helping Sabrina to do the same by hiring a "fixer", named D.C. to become Sabrina's image consultant. Damien is used to issuing orders and his clients falling in line, but Sabrina doesn't like being told what to do. Soon it's not just tempers flaring, there's a whole lot of sparks flying too. D.C. is exactly what Sabrina needed in her life and she's what he didn't know he needed.

A Country Wedding: Jessie and Rhett's story. It was nice to have a continuation of the first two stories, but I wasn't really a fan of this one on its own if it was just Jessie and Rhett's story. It was too forced. Quite a few "wait ... what?" Moments. Such as after the fake engagement is announced Jessie is asked why they're not sharing a room. She responds to Kayla that they alternate between his room and her cottage but then days go by before this is mentioned again when in reality it would've been noticed beginning on that initial day following Rhett's announcement. I like Jessie as a character and appreciate Rhett's evolving into a better man, but overall this last story fell flat for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed all three stories in particularly the third one which wrapped up the stories of all three sisters so neatly. I enjoy the warmth of the families and enjoy reading the connection between their mother and themselves so realistic with a helpful loving grandmother in the background. Loved it I’ve already read the stories twice so good to return to.

I really liked this audio book trio. The stories were well planned and characters well developed. Each story revolves around one of the 3 Wilder sisters. They fell from grace in the charts to to silly mistake of the youngest sister. She was naïve and it took down their music contract. After hiding away at the family B&B for a year their lives start to happen again. If you like swoony country western men (Sam Hunt ahhh), you will enjoy this series.

Three Wilder sisters finding love.
1st book is about Lex Wilder who loves to write songs. But she didn't enjoy spotlight while they were performing as Wilder sisters. While traveling, her youngest sister Sabrina had a scandal that brought their career to a halt, now they are back in home town of Whistle Cove and trying to revive their B & B. She didn't miss much about performing but she definitely missed Luke, country's hottest artist who broke her heart when he choose his career over her. Now Luke is back where everything started and trying his best to get back Lex. It's a sweet second chance romance.
2nd book is about Sabrina Wilder who loves the spotlight and performing. Her little mishap caused Wilder sister's career to a halt and now trying to revamp her image and her career. When Luke hears Sabrina need PR makeover, he sends Damien Caldwell. He doesn't take any BS from anyone and this will be his last job before he decided to get back to his roots in Texas. Both are strong and opinionated and they butt heads but chemistry is flying off the charts. Now they will have to figure out if they are willing to try at keeping each other. (I like this one the best out of three sisters.)
3rd book is about Jessie Wilder, middle sister who is really good at keeping books and enjoys life in Whistle Cove. When her sister Lex's wedding is happening at the B & B, she is trying to play referee to her mother and rest of the party. But when famous country music star Brett Hunter couldn't refuse someone's advance, he decided to fake an engagement to Jessie. They do have history and they knew each other even went out a date that really left sour taste for Jessie. Now she will have to play fake fiancee to people and try to manage the wedding.. All the sister's are back in town and they all have secret of their own.. They will have to figure out how they will be able to tell their mother their secrets.
It was an interesting series of three sisters who were performers. All three sisters were different and had different take on their love lives.
