Darkness surrounds me. Who am I? I don’t remember anything. Every memory of my life gone.
I wake in a hospital not knowing my own name. I don’t know these people who claim to be are my parents, but they take care of me, they show me pictures… and introduce me to my fiancé? I guess I was living a perfect life before my accident. I had it all, so I try to remember. I try to keep living my life, but I can’t shake the feeling that something is off. I’m noticing things are not adding up. I’m catching people around me lying and I know something is terribly wrong.
It seems like my memory is not the only thing missing…
SULLIVAN
How could I have been so stupid? How could I’ve let them play me like this? This is all my fault. I hurt her, I let this happen, and now she is in her parents clutches again. Even worse, she doesn’t remember anything… she doesn’t remember us.
I hate my parents for playing their part in this and my brothers hate me for playing mine. I need to fix this. I need to make my brothers forgive me so we can save her, we need to make her remember what kind of people her parents really are… before it’s too late.
Now the only question is if she remembers… will she ever forgive me?

I’m in complete and utter shock right now...what in the world was that cliffhanger!? Omg haha I’m literally on the edge of my seat!
Okay, I should probably back up a little here and start from the beginning. =) Book two begins right where we left off at the cliffhanger of book one. Harlow was hit by a car and has lost her memory and is back home at her parents house. Eventually she ends up making her way back to Bayshore and she gets caught up with the guys again. They pretty much start off where they left off because even though she doesn’t have all her memories, she’s remembering snippets and she knows that she’s attracted to all of them.
I love the chemistry between all of them and let me just say that there are some really steamy scenes! I love those Bishop brothers!!
You’re left with another crazy cliffhanger in this book, and holy moly I’m dying to find out where things go from here! How am I supposed to wait til the next book!?
Just a quick note: This is book two in this series and you must read When Rivals Fall before reading this book. Also since this is a series, this book does ends on one heck of a heart stopping cliffhanger!
With all the crap that has been going on in Harlow's life she doesn't know what to think or who to trust. Can she trust the Bishop brothers; Sullivan, Oliver and Banks? Or are they just out to cause her more heart break, humiliation and pain? What about her parents or her best friend, Shelby, can they be trusted? This book is so intriguing, suspenseful and heart breaking. I started reading and couldn't put it down until the very end. I am so looking forward to the next book in this series because I'm dying to find out what happens next!!! This is a great series so far and I highly recommend it!
After WHEN RIVALS FALL cliffhanger, Harlow wakes up in hospital with no memory of who she is and the people around her. But she's (still) drawn to the Bishop brothers. And they're determined to figure out together what's really going on. And the brothers to gain Harlow's trust and Harlow to trust them.
As Shelby goes, I still don't like her. She's supposed to be Harlow's friend, she's still shifty to me. Now, Caroline, that's friend material. There are a few characters that I would like to see brought down a peg or two or cut off and run out of town.
Another great page turner. Even the cliffhanger at the end. Can't wait to see what happens next in WHEN RIVALS LOVE, coming soon.
*I received an Arc copy in exchange for an honest review*
If you think that after the massive cliffhanger we had on the first book, this one would be lighter, you are wrong. Harlow is really confuded about everything. Well, almost everything. She is pretty sure she feels attracted to the Bishop brothers. But if what she is being told is true, they are bad news. Should she follow her guts? Or are the Bishop brothers her enemies? As the previous book, you will read it very fast. And as the previous one as well, it ends with an epic cliffhanger.
This was a good read. After the last book ended the way it did I was looking forward to seeing how it would continue. I felt bad for Harlow because all she wanted was to get her memories back. It was confusing for her because so many people were trying to tell her different stories. I can't stress enough how much I despise her parents and I'm hoping that her father will get caught. Then maybe she can be free to live her own life.
Wow, Wow, Wow!! What an hell of a book. All the twists and turns and the mysteries, oh my god that threw me for a loop.. I thought I knew what was going on and then "bam" I'm back outta the loop. And believe me I loved every second of it. Of course another major cliffhanger has me on the edge of my seat for book 3. Josie and Cassandra are writing some fantastic books and I am loving them..
“You're my home. The beginning, the end & everything in between.”-Sullivan
Omg!! This story! I started it immediately after the previous hellish cliffhanger. God.. Will she ever get her memory fully back? A Heart-racing story with Confusion (Hers), Lies, Secrets & Truths, Kidnappings, A forced Engagement, Fighting for love and Another cliffhanger! I'm so loving Harlow, Oliver, Banks, Sullivan!❤ Their Individuality is endearing⭐
[The prologue was from Sullivan's PoV & that was good! I was really angry at what he did earlier (Gah, he was the gentle one!), it was good to see his regret, Guilt & Misery! I'm happy that his brothers are angry, Frankly S deserves it! Let's see how he redeems himself (He will..)]
Due to her Amnesia, she's back in her parents' clutches. She can't recall anything & they're feeding her lies.. But she finds her College ID & knows its where she belongs right now. She's pretty smart! With a leverage on her dad *his Secret affair*, she comes back. She meets the bros 1 by 1: Sullivan in Mall back home, Banks in college here, Oliver in a party.
Shelby, her bestie (What's her deal?), Has got Harlow brainwashed with half truths, so she doesn't believe the bishop bros Fully. But she's having Flashbacks of memory with them.. Her Mind may not know them But her Heart & Body does. A Soulful Connection.
So they had to take drastic measures.. Kidnap her (quite a good idea!) Take her to a cabin. Why would she believe them? When everyone else is saying otherwise? It's evident they hated her earlier, what changed? (Banks' answer was so swoony!)
Now Sullivan's Sex tape Comes in handy. Well, his shame is apparent (How can I hate him now?) And Oliver & Banks are angry that he hasn't deleted it.. But it helps her realize that they're telling the truth.
We also find that Caroline, her other friend here, is actually the boys' cousin! (That explains things..)
Soon All the cards are on the table. Their investigation, Her near deaths But.. Who's trying to kill her? Why? AND What's the reason for the bishops & her family's rivalry? These remained to be unanswered, yet.
The 4 Consummate their Relation *yay!* They're all so sweet! (Alpha, Intense, Amazing!) It's so apparent that the 3 love her & she loves them right back. She can't take all 3 together now, but she knows she will. Soon.
But They Can't be holed up there long, so they soon return Back to college. All 3 protect her, but rumors are surfacing again, shits turning serious.. DANGER!
Then Her Parents kidnap her from College. (I so hate them!) Brings her back home, Forcing her to marry in a week, Or else.. They'll destroy the Bishops. Or worse, kill the ones she loves.. So She Breaks Oliver, Banks, Sullivan's heart (Breaking her own in the process) to keep them safe.. What happens next? Loveless marriage? Heartthrob?
Omg, I'm so happy that the guys didn't give up! (Love Confessions happens too❤) But she thinks it's the end.. How can they ever be together?
But, But, but Just the night before the wedding, she finds the truth about 'The rivalry' and of Shelby & her father (omfg!)
Then? God!!!! She's just kidnapped (again?!) Who the heck is it now? The Killer? OR hopefully, The Brothers?
Such a hellish cliffhanger, I'm so fuming. So many questions. I'm off to reading the finale!
"When Rivals Lose" is the second book in the Bayshore Rivals series and it ends in another cliffhanger.... It was steamier that the first book in the series. Following the usual writing style of J.L. Beck. I'm going to read the last book because I want to reach a closure, but it's just ok so far...
A very easy read, the drama is high but easily absorbed, its like suspense for YA with some NA steam added, but hey I’m enjoying it & I really do want to know what’s going on with ‘Phoebe’.
This is a fictional story where the lead female is in love with 3 brothers, and vice-versa. In real life, I think it's weird and gross—in my own opinion. I mean, come on, who wants to share the love their life to someone else? We don't even want to share our ice cream let alone private parts, right? Especially to siblings, that's just too taboo.
But like I said this is a fictional story. In the book, the brothers are hot, strong and virile. On the top of my head I was thinking, Christian Hogue—who doesn't want three of him?! Lol
I enjoyed the story. It was riveting and captivating... still gross when I compare it real life but like I said it was an indulgence. A guilty pleasure
After what Sullivan does to Harlow she goes in search of Shelby, her best friend but is run over by a car and loses her memory. She spends weeks at her parent’s house and although she doesn’t remember anything she knows she doesn’t belong there. Her parents inform her that she is going to marry Matt, the son of an businessman with whom her father wants to do business. In a stroke of luck she finds her college ID and demands her parents to let her come back to school. And when she sees the brothers again she begins to have flashbacks of her past life and although her brain doesn’t remember them her body does. Will recover her memory ? Who is trying to kill her? Will her parent’s threats make her to marry Matt? Who is telling the truth? What is the truth?
When Rivals Lose is a wicked hurricane of lies and deception that will swallow and destroy any glimmer of hope that tries to shine its light on the deep darkness. Even if you try to rise above the maddening chaos, your victory won’t last long. This is a devastation that will not only change a life, but it will overrun and control every part of it in no time flat. Nothing is off limits and no one is more precious than another. You will had better be strong, or you will find yourself another victim of this unstoppable madness. I have been seriously dying to get more of Harlow and the Bishop brother’s story. I have been hooked and lost since their first book. Their story is massively twisted and yet it also so much more than the struggle of rivals and enemies. It is the story of a strong-willed hope that is destined to stand and level everything in its path. My heart has been playing their story over and over again, and now I am able to dive a little deeper and uncover more deadly secrets which have spun and respun my world more than once. Now, I am seriously at their mercy as I am left to imagine what will happen next. Will the hope that is fighting ferociously for life overcome the evil intent on viciously destroying it, or will that small ember die before it has a chance to grow and take root? Sullivan, Banks, and Oliver have had to fight through one lie to another in order to find any semblance of truth amdist their world of tight deception and loud half-truths. Just when they think they have a handle on their history and their present, their world is flipped upside down as they are forced yet again to take action and recapture their living, breathing heart that brightens their world and makes it worth living. Harlow is left to try and reclaim her world after a devastating blow that she was dealt, but does she have the strength to pull herself back together? Can she fight against the darkness trying to suck her back in? Will she finally give in when her world is ripped from her for a second time? Will her heart be able to live in its own darkness for the sake of others? I can’t describe the wonder and majesty of this thrilling, edge-of-your-seat brilliant romantic suspense! My heart reveled in the astounding creativity and the stunning talent that it takes to brings this dazzling piece of work to life. I have savored everything about this intriguing journey, and now I can’t wait to see what happens next! If this story has been so delightfully complex and twisty so far, I am on pins and needles to see what is in store for us at this story’s conclusion. I seriously can’t wait for the splendor of the dizzying finale that is sure to come!!! JL Beck and Cassie Hallman are two literary geniuses who have rocked my world, and I will never be the same again! Please never stop writing!
Okay you guys know that going into book 2 i hated sullivan because he was a cunt muffin for what he did!!
Going into book 2 harlow has lost her memory and her parents are there to take advantage of the situation. They are making harlow do things they want her to do with threats! Harlow doesn’t remember the boys but somehow she feels connected to them and she doesn’t know why!
Even though i hated sullivan in book 1 he definitely redeems himself in book 2. Banks and oliver are mad at him and he does realize that what he did was wrong. Harlow has so many new obstacles to face especially where her parents are concerned and her trying to get her memories back.
Holy hell the sexy scenes between banks and oliver and them sullivan and banks with harlow was hot as ever! I may have read those a few time while beta reading 😂 The boys are trying to get harlow back but she has to keep pushing them away because she thinks she is protecting them.
The twists and turns in this book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! Holy hell!!! What the hellll with that ending?! I have so many questions and i need answers right now! You guys if you haven’t started the series yet... then book 1 is called ‘When Rivals Fall’. It’s such an amazing series and definitely one of my 5⭐️ reads and I can’t recommend this series enough!!!
I love this book, but I can’t stand that it ends with a cliffhanger. One more book and this finally has a good ending or not, but enough with the cliffhangers! In the previous book it leaves Harlow with amnesia as she was hit by a car as someone is trying to kill her. So, in this book she is trying to remember things, but her parents are able to take her home and force her to marry someone else all due to business. Many secrets are being discovered as both the Bishop boys and she are seeking the truth as to what feuded between both fathers to create this rivalry. The book is good, but I would prefer it to end already. I don’t like being kept in suspense; I like my happily ever after if one is there. The book has a lot of excitement and steamy scenes, but who is trying to kill her!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When Rivals Lose is book two in my most anticipated read of all, especially after that cliffhanger of an ending from book one!
Following that ending, this book felt like more on Harlow working to get back her memories, trying to learn the truth from the lies, and who to trust. Emphasis on who to trust because even when she loses her memory, her instincts are sort of helping her decides. I love that Harlow spends some sexy, quality time with her men and build that bond between them all. There are some characters that you will just love, hate like the new predicament that Harlow found herself in, and still doubt like Shelby.
Without giving away too much, this book turns into suspense with twists and turns that I haven’t seen coming. Oh my lawd and the plot thicken! And again, what a cliffhanger! I need that book 3 ASAP!
Revenge is sweet but revenge is what gets distorted in this book and this series for that matter. Mainly because Harlow, Sullivan, Banks and Oliver (the main characters) are the in the middle of a revenge plot orchestrated by their families. Making them the pawns in some sort of f**ked up game where plotting against each other is the norm more so in book 1. This time now with Harlow's amnestia things take a different perspective. One of finding out truths and learning to trust one another. The plot twists and turns in this book left my head spinning but they definitely hold your attention right up until that knockout cliffhanger ending. Its a cracking series. Now hurry up and bring on book 3 im definitely dying for the next part
I really struggled with book 1, but I thought between all the BS they put her through and her losing her memory we might get a different side to Harlow. However, it only took 6 chapters, her seeing each of the boys once, for her to become the same doormat as in book 1.
I have to say I went from frustrated to annoyed to mad with this one. Harlow was portrayed as the stereotypical dim-witted blonde, as soon as she was in proximity of the guys all she had on the brain was sex, she kept making the same unintelligent choices that kept putting her in danger and always waiting for a man to show up and save the day. I absolutely hated it. She had no backbone or drive to fight for what she wanted.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is book two in the series and it is NOT a standalone. You must read in order as both books have ended in a cliffhanger. This book picks up right where the first book ends. Harlow is so confused. She can't remember anything and everything she is being told doesn't add up. She doesn't know who to trust and who not too. She's been told she hates the Bishop brother's but why does she crave to be near them. This book is a reverse harlem book and has some scenes with MFM that will set your Kindle on fire. Absolutely can't wait for the next book!
I knew before reading that I’d love WRL because everything I’ve read from JL Beck and Cassandra Hallman has been amazing, including When Rivals Fall. I’ve been hooked on Harlow and the Bishop brothers since day one and I’m chomping at the bit to know how their story ends.
While some questions are answered in this installment, Beck and Hallman do a wonderful job of raising new ones, while creating steamy scenes between our favorite brothers and their best girl.
And that ending! I’m still reeling from the revelation! I cannot wait to read When Rivals Love!!!
When Harlow awakens after her accident, she has lost her memory, but the worst part is the confusion she feels. When she sees her parents and her fiancé instead of feeling a comfort and peace it brings her anxiety and she doesn’t understand why.
Sullivan regrets his part in the situation that Harlow finds herself in and he and his brothers will do whatever is necessary to get her back but so many obstacles stand in their way.
As more secrets and twists are revealed it all escalates into a cliffhanger that leaves us wanting to know what the future has in store for Harlow and the Bishop brothers.
A fantastic 2nd book in this series. After the cliffhanger from "When Rivals Fall", I was looking forward to this and it didnt disappoint. Harlow has lost her memory and can't remember anything from her previous life not even the three Bishop brothers... The story gripped me all the way and I didn't see the plot twist at the end coming ! Another fab book from JL Beck and C Hallman and I cant wait to see how things play out in the final book!
I have received an Arc copy and am voluntarily leaving a review
I...I...I don’t even know where to begin?! Yes they did it again- I’m speechless.
Harlow has lost her memory forgetting not only the pain and heartache she has been through but also the love she felt with the Bishop boys.
The scenes are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and the passion is real. At times I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall and you can’t help but want to protect Harlow from whoever is hurting her. Just when you think you have begun to put the pieces together the rug is ripped right out from under you.
Suspense, Thriller, Dark drama, And steamy AF yep that’s this book! The second book in the Bayshore Rivals series was just as addictive as the first one these books are so juicy and borderline erotica and I’m not mad about it! There’s so many twists you’ll think you know what happening and then nope plot twist!! The cliff hanger at the end made my jaw drop and I can’t wait to devour the 3rd book when it comes out. My only issue is Why did they have to be Brothers it does lead to a bit of awkward reading 😬
Oh my Jesus!! This book had my emotions running high!! This book will have you screaming WTH! Poor Harlow wakes up not knowing anyone and with no memory she doesn't know who she can trust. Everyone is a suspect in her eyes. This book will keep you in suspense and wanting to know more! I do have to say that the interactions between Harlow and the Bishop boys, OMG hot hot hot!!!!! With that cliffhanger ending I need to know what is going to happen next!!!! This series is a MUST READ!!!
All i can say is oh my God this series gets more intense I'm just hoping with everything that's gone off with Harlow she gets her happily ever after because she deserve it from everything she gone through no normal young adult would cope with what she went through , please please give her that ending
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
After all the crap Harlow had to go through in books 1, you’re routing for her HEA in book 2. So many times she comes close, only to have all hope snatched away again. This book was an emotional whirlwind, a rollercoaster of all the feelings. It killed me. But like a masochist, I’ll be coming back for more.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I didn’t realize this series had a third book. I don’t like to start incomplete series cause I always forget what I read waiting for the other book to come out. I really am liking the series and the brothers ((sigh)). A lot of this book has memory lose and that drives me crazy but at the end it started to come together a little bit.
