The battle has only just begun... Brutally defeated by the blood shaman Gomrung, Paul and his party are taken captive and sent on a journey to Lutdor, the orc capital. To the orcs, they are nothing more than sacks of blood to be spilt on Vasla's altar during high festival. Accompanying them is an elf princess with an icy personality, aloof even in battle and reluctant to share any knowledge of the Wild. The march goes awry when they come across an enchanted willow tree feasting on decomposing corpses, and an elven outpost in flames. When news reaches Paul of another Aberrant in the elf confederacy, he must lead his party through a gauntlet of death and suffering to reach the city Inisfil. But with the orc kingdom rallying for war and C-rank bosses lurking the deep forest, new party members and old must do whatever it takes simply to stay alive. First, my review: “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
Over the past year it has become apparent that my reviews are somewhat antagonistic and I apologize to those of you that have taken offense. I think I had hoped to change peoples’ minds about reviewing works of art and that seems to have backfired spectacularly. However, I am still going to be true to myself and write what I believe.
To the author: Thank you for this chance to escape reality and enjoy the world you created! Keep up the good work.
To my fellow reviewers: Messaging me and reviewing my reviews is as productive as trying to shovel water out of the ocean. Stop. I get it. Let’s just all live peacefully.
To potential readers: Art needs to be experienced at an individual level. You are the only one that can determine what you like and don’t like. Don’t let others make that decision for you. You should definitely read the book and completely ignore all of the reviews. You are a much better judge of what you will like than anyone here.
This story picks up directly where the previous part ended and proves itself to be even better than the first part. Captured by Orcs and with only days to live before being sacrificed, Paul's plight and the fate of his party seems hopeless. Escaping the Orcs is only the beginning of their troubles as they struggle to escape the war between the Elves and the Orcs without getting caught in the middle.
Once again it is the unusual character class that absolutely makes this Tactical LITRPG work a pleasure to read. The story pulses with adventure and the reader is once again caught up and transported to another world, along with the MC.
The story is incomplete but does not contain sex or cliff hangers.
Aberrant Quest: The Blood Crown Book 2 (A LitRPG Adventure), My second read/listen from author Damian Boyle. An enjoyable read, especially for fans of FRP and so much more as the real-life story takes the forefront. I was given an Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. The book was well-written & flowed smoothly & quickly. I look forward to reading more from this author. I especially enjoyed the narrative talents of Steve Campbell. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
I enjoyed reading this book. Great characters lots of excitement and and some okay loot and mean bad guys.
The only down side to the book is it has profanity. I took one star off for the cursing. It would have been a much better book without the profanity. Swearing just distracts from the book.
Much different from traditional litRPGs. A very unique Class with tactical control over the party. It's nice to see an MC that isn't as concerned with the bigger picture and just with his own circle.
