Helen's plan to get David fired includes her older sister's help. Mavis says, "No," because the last fiasco infuriated her husband and tarnished her reputation at the church. "Another Kind of Hero" is a uniquely written crime story. Besides the typical characters one would expect in a story, it also involves a ghost as one of the main characters who often narrates the action she sees and hears around her. The plot is divided into short excerpts that shift to other scenes and focus on the various characters and their current situations. The characters are ordinary, real people with their flaws as well as their good qualities clearly depicted. The language can be a little coarse in some places, but it seems appropriate and fits well with the characters’ personalities. Normally I would not read this kind of novel, but the author Lynn Hesse is a fellow writer friend of mine so I wanted to read her award winning novel. Lynn did a great job “pulling” me into the story with her outstanding writing skills. As a retired English teacher, I give her a score of A.
Lynn Hesse is a retired police detective. She knows her business about writing mysteries. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I wont tell you about my favorite character because it would be a spoiler, but she is a great addition to the story. I found Hesse's treatment of this story line intriguing and enjoyable. Like a mystery? Love this book.
This is a funny crime book. The criminals are stupid and the FBI struggles. Takes mormal folks to help them nab the crazy guys and gals. Thanks to Goodreads.
