Maeve's new and old worlds collide in the electrifying third book of the Spellcrest Academy series.

I'm not sure what to say about this series that I haven't already. Michael is a fantastic author. Each book of his I pick up, I seem to fly through faster than the last. In Crystallize, Maeve's freshmen year at Spellcrest Academy comes to a close as more explosive betrayals and revelations are brought to light. I love how strong Maeve's friendships have grown. I love that she's grown up a lot and stopped being so naive. Devon can literally go jump off a tower. He's still hiding something. Guy and Maeve didn't spend a lot of time together in this book but I still love their chemistry and I'm hoping for more of them together in later books. I still have tons of questions but the current story arc does come to a somewhat satisfying conclusion. Onward to Medial Candidate.
Of the three books, this was my favorite of the books, partly because Maeve has definitely matured, and while she still has her faults, she acknowledges them and tries to work on them. This third book was definitely non-stop action and I ended up reading it in one sitting. I won't include any spoilers, but I do like how it ended. While this 3-book ARC ends nicely and I could totally stop right here and not feel like I'm missing anything, I plan on reading year 2 next. So overall I would say it was a slow start for me, but then the characters started growing on me and by the end, I loved it.
An unbelievable third story in this absolutely fabulous series. Maeve thinks things are doing better, but a surprise it’s not. Loved it, each book gets better if possible.
This is the third book in the Spellcrest Academy series and I loved it! Grabs your attention right from the beginning of the book. Is full of twists and turns, fast paced, action packed and romance. I cannot say enough about this book and I highly recommend it. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!!
Maeve finally got her needle back but at what cost? This book was an eye opener and made everything come together. Will there be a happily ever after? Can't wait to read next book.
Maeve trains for the war and starts to train her friends when the war starts. They are able to kill Tarquin and get the needle back. But the headmistress unleashes the plague.
This book has more twists and turns than a windy mountain road. Surprises, battles against evil, family drama, this book has it all. What will the next one have?
This series keeps getting better with book. This book starts exactly where the "Crestfallen" ended. Maeve has escaped Kicryria with her Mother an Quin. Maeve had fought with Tarquin, who is now in possession of Maeve's Steamstress needle, had also killed Otis, who turns out to be Quin's father. Maeve is now hiding her Mother, Finley an Quin in her room. And trying to keep the reappearance of the newcomers from Devon.
The main plot from this book is to defend Spellcrest Academy from the inevitable attack from Tarquin and his army. That means Maeve has to let Headmistress Christi know about her Mother's resurrection so that her Mother could obtain a time served status for her crimes for supplying information and helping to defeat Tarquin. To that end, they need to work with the Headmistress and Spellcrest Academy's security to beef up the protection spell surrounding the Academy as well as help make the Academy and security forces to help make sure that the Academy survives Tarquin's attack.
Unfortunately, the Headmistress is not convinced that an attack is pending and even more skeptical about working with Maeve and her Mother. Therefore, she requires that the three of them sign a Crystal Contract stating that Maeve and her Mother will help the Academy in regards to the upcoming attack, recover the Seamstress Needle and turn the needle over to the Headmistress. The Headmistress is determined that Maeve NOT get her needle back so Maeve has to agree to forfeit her right to the needle. Instead , the Seamstress Council will determine who should get the Seamstress Needle.I
The Crystal Contract will ensure that happens and if there is any attempt to break the contract, that person will immediately be crystallized. The ceremony involved is very interesting. Something you will have to read the book to find out the details.
There are other plotlines dealing with Maeve's relationship not only with her family but Devon and the other inhabitants of the Academy. I especially enjoy Maeve and Devon's interaction. I like them as a couple and I am rooting for their relationship to survive the many obstacles they face.
I was given an ARC ebook to read and give an honest review. I really love these books but wish they were longer. Thankfully, there hasn't been a,long wait time between books.

This one picks up right where the last one finished. They just keep getting better with each one. Well written plot and story line that kept me engaged to the end. Wonderful well written characters that I am enjoying. Can't wait for the next one now. Recommend reading.

What an intense read! Lots of action and hazardous experiences in this third and last story of the series. Almost at every turn, Selene faces one challenge after another with hardly a chance to breathe. Evil creatures are after her so they can absorb her magic for themselves. She has to figure out a way to control her powers so she and Quinn can be together with no adverse effects on each other. I was stunned toward the end when Mordecai and Albacus make a ghostly appearance to try to help and likened Selene’s magic to Clara’s in The Five Petal Knot. They also mentioned that she’d died decades ago. I loved that book and when they said she’d died, my heart broke. It gave me a little perspective on the timeline of this series compared to Ms Ashta’s earlier books. But to me, Clara will always live on as I can go back and read her story again and again whenever I want. But I digress. I was very happy when Selene was finally able to figure out how to control her magic. And I loved the HEA!
A mindblowing finale on Maeve's first term in Spellcrest Academy!!!
Oh, what a ride this book was!!! Maeve is back at the Spellcrest Academy, and she has lots of challenges ahead of her! Without making any spoilers, I have to say that this was a mindblowing installment in the series! Action-packed, with unexpected plot twists, plenty of adventure mind-shattering revelations, and a satysfying conclusion, at least as far as Maeve's first year at the Academy is concerned! Her story will continue of course in the next book and the start of her second term, but there are no cliffhangers in this one. The story wraps up wonderfully, leaving a few loose threads to tie them to the next book. An excellent read, I highly recommend to all fantasy readers. Personally, I'll binge-read them in anticipation of the next installment :)

I really, really like this series so freaking much and I can not get enough of this story. The characters, Maeve has a lot on her plate to deal with including the Sewn Man again. Just really like it and the action in this one.
We have suspense, betrayal, the unknown and love. Maeve is back with having to fight Tarquin, but how can she beat him? Will Quin and Guy be able to help her train for the fight? What is her mother really up to? Why did Devon betray her? Can she ever forgive him? What is the Headmistress up to now? Can she keep her friends safe? Can she live through all of this fighting? Can she ever forgive her brother? Why does everyone lie to her?

Freshman year ends in an unexpected way for Maeve, Razielle, Nym, Ivanic, Bree, Sarah, Erik, Devon, and the rest of Spellcrest. Book 3 picks up where 2 finished. Maeve deals with on going family and school issues. Answers are finally revealed. And new questions lead us into sophomore year.
A well written ending that leaves you wondering what else is in store for our favorite characters. A great weekend read. Couldn’t put it down.
Received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Another excellent adventure for Maeve and her friends at magical Spellcrest Academy
Maeve faces so many challenges with having her needle and her crystal taken away but she does not quit. She had so many unexpected revelations and faces even more. Most unsettling is the fact that she has begun too doubt her boyfriend, Devon. She is determined to get her needle back and finds help from Lisbon in getting into Kycryia, but what she finds there is very unexpected and changes everything. Now, they must prepare for a terrible battle.
This is book 3 to the Spellcast Academy and I absolutely loved this story. Maeve and her friends face many challenges in year 3 she must face her fears so she can defeat Tarquin and his armies. Sorry guys I’m not going to get too much into this story but year 3 is action packed and full of spiders ohh hell no anything but spiders, this has been a brilliant series so far and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
