Audio book on RMR i wasn't feeling the narrators idk maybe it was the accents.. :( so that made me go blah.. beside that.. idk i couldn't connect with this couple.. she wanted a divorce for their quicky vegas wedding cuz they were different.. but he kept sending away lawyers not wanting a divorce.. but we never really saw him fight for her those 6 months only when she came to his camp for him to sign the papers.. he was living in a small town and her in the big city.. :/ like dude.. you suck.. she sucks to.. she annoyed me..

Sadly not my fave of from the podcast or Avery. Aria and Jace were married in a quick Vegas moment. Aria has been trying to undo that "mistake" and Jace is having none of that. It may have been the narrators or that I didn't really feel the chemistry but this story didn't really work for me.

This specific video review will be included in the July 2019 wrap-up.

My first book by Avery Flynn and it won't be the last. I really liked this book. The characters were great and the chemistry between the two was hot. They got married after a whirlwind romance and 3 weeks later Aria woke up and decided that she couldn't stay married. Now she is trying to get him to sign the paperwork but he doesn't want to, he wants to work on his marriage. Will they be able to stay married or will they get divorced? You will have to find out and when you get this book, you won't be disappointed.

not going to rate this. I really wanted to listen to it but the female narrator drove me crazy. when she was speaking the male part it was with an weird accent. When the male narrator was speaking, he had no accent. I'm waiting for the ebook.

2.5-3 stars. Quickie review: I listened to this book on audio on the Read Me Romance podcast. I didn't love this book. I felt it had too many plot holes and left me with unanswered questions. Also, I didn't love either narrator. Both sounded elderly, especially the female narrator. This was not a very good listen for me.

Super cute and romantic kinda second chance(ish) story featuring an established couple who got married in Vegas. She wants a divorce. He doesn’t want to let her go, so attempts to woo her. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Trigger Warnings include:
discussions of being in a cult

Aria leaves the comforts of DC to drive to Small Town USA to get her divorce papers signed. But she underestimated her husband, or maybe herself. Since she showed up trying to hide under Jace’s favorite baseball hat. It took her months, but she finally went to him, exactly like he knew she would. They both want 48 hours. She gave him that long to sign the papers, meanwhile he wanted that much time to prove he knew that she didn’t want him to sign the papers. A small issue between them was actually a huge mountain to climb for Aria. And she hid behind that mountain. Getting divorced seemed easier than admitting the truth. Jace loves her so much, and wanted to give her anything she wanted. Even if that meant a divorve. After we got a lovely ONE BED moment, Aria finally realizes she’s done more damage than she’s realized.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “There's no one for miles. Just you and me. Let me see you."
• “This doesn't change anything." "Neither will my signature on a piece of paper."
• “There is no one else but you."

Sweet & swoony second chance sports romance.

My first time w Avery Flynn - #BookCherryPopped📕🍒😜

Great premise, dropping you right into the action in a way that gave you all you needed, to know exactly what was going down.

Dual POV, the shared “cliff notes” of their backstory gave us not only their versions but insight into both characters motivations in a way that was swoony, sweet and funny. (If I’m honest, their relationship was also full of milestones that made me wish their story was FL...but I’m greedy like that! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😜😆 I mean, quickie Vegas Wedding? Deets please!)

I loved the shit outta Jace and his slow, stubborn, ninja-alpha charm. I liked Aria but she also kinda made me wanna shake the dumbass outta her, LOL, but that’s what Ruby-Sue was for.

And Ruby-Sue was the shit! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

I definitely intend to spend more time with the quirky residents of the charming town named Salvation. Oh, and get another slice of that damn made-my-mouth-water Pecan Pie!

** I personally struggled w the female narration on this one (I heard, and thus saw in my head, a female Bobcat Goldthwait) and I wasn’t 100 % sure I interpreted the intonations correctly, which took me out of the story. HOWEVER, given the narrator is highly accomplished and award winning, this is absolutely on ME and NOT her work.**

This one was cute. Aria and Jase already having a past made the shorter time frame make sense, and I liked that there was more to the story than the two of them jumping into bed (though of course they did that too; at least they waited until the second segment). I appreciated the quirky secondary characters as well--a benefit of taking place in the world of a pre-established series--which means I'm going to have to check out those books too ;)

The female narrator was one I've listened to and enjoyed in the past, I liked hearing her here. I don't think I've heard the male narrator before, but he did a decent job.

Still not a fan of the twice-a-week podcast format; if I listen to part one on Monday I'm always a little lost by the time they post part two on Friday--by that time I've already started and finished at least 2 or 3 other books plus listened I can't even say how many podcast episodes. Maybe I'll wait until later in the week to listen to Monday episodes, see if that makes it better...

Well unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of the RMR podcast splitting their audiobooks into only two installments. Going several days between episodes leaves me forgetting where I left off and causes the overall experience to be lacking. I think if I was able to listen to this book every day, or both episodes back to back, I would have given it a higher star rating which just doesn't seem fair to the author. The book was enjoyable enough. The male narrator made me want to stab my ears. Why did he read like that?!?!?!! The inflection in his tone and the way he drug out syllables was so uncomfortable. It was just hard to listen to. The overall story was pretty cute though. The buildup was good but the ending felt a bit rushed (as do most novellas I suppose). It was enjoyable none the less.

Nooo! There is WAY too much backstory going on here to make for a satisfying novella. This needed to be a full novel in order to flesh out Aria’s past and the hero’s career/injury was barely touched on. I felt like this was just a tease for the real story. It’s a shame. (By the way, not a fan of the female audio narrator on this one. Just had a nasally quality that didn’t jive with the vision I had of Aria in my head.)

DNF I’m sorry but this is soooo boring, plus I’m just not a sports book type of person so that probably is a good chunk of why I’m not liking this.

Author review: This is my first novel ever read by this author. Realistic, crowd pleaser.

Jace and Aria are a realistic and romantic couple.
Aria was at first annoying me because I couldn’t figure out for the life of me what was her problem. A man loved you and you obviously loved him why are you pushing him away? But then it all came out. Hopefully I won’t need a Maria Sue to get my head out of my ass when mister right comes along. Anyways, it took me a very long time to read this novel at first I thought it was only read by a woman. Lately I have only came across one person who could read both male and female parts and I not cringe on the horrible effort of the male voice.

The fact that Jace never gave up made me so happy. He could have walked away but he stayed.

Overall a great realistic slow paced relationship.

Another short book, but I quite enjoyed this one, I love small town romances.
I love their relationship quite much, they have their own ways of going at thing. They’re different in many ways but they help each other so much. When Jace hurt his hip, she was right there to help him, to be there for him in ways that he never knew. And all he wants to do is to make sure she gets her way. He didn’t realize that he was in her way to make that happen. I totally recommend this book.
Aria, a city girl, wants to divorce a baseball ex player, Jace, and has been trying to for months now! So she finally takes matters in her own hands and goes to the small town of Salvation to get him to sign the papers.
Will they divorce and go there separate ways? Read and find out.

This is a novella about Jace, a former professional baseball player, and Aria, the woman who married him in a moment of recklessness. Now, she wants a divorce, but he doesn’t. After a steamy night together, despite their clear chemistry and emotional connection, he realizes he loves her too much to make her remain married to him, so he gives her what she wishes. But she realizes she loves him and wants to be with him. She just doesn’t want to be married. Easy-peasy. They figure out a compromise and they’re both happy. There’s not much more to it, since it’s a novella, and I can’t worry about spoiling the story because it’s a romance and it’s pretty obvious they’ll end up together. It’s a fun story. I enjoyed it.

This is one of the older audiobooks from the Read Me Romance Podcast and I finally decided to listen to it because the premise never really intrigued me (and yes of course I listen to the ladies' chat in the beginning of each episode even if I don't straight away listen to the audiobook after it). I thought it was finally time to catch up on the audiobooks I haven't gotten around to. Unfortunately, the characters didn't do it for me in this one and the plot wasn't very exciting.

It was a nice short read. You don't really get to know the characters though you would in a bigger story.
MFC comes to a small town where her husband moved after she kicked him out.
They got married in Vegas only dating for a short time. She eventually freaked out about it because of her past. Which is explained but not really in a great way for me.
MMC has been sending back her lawyers, not wanting a divorce. Which has her traveling out to see him to try and trick him at first.

Aria attends a fantasy baseball camp to get her husband to agree to a divorce. Married in a quicky wedding in Vegas, Aria realizes she doesn't want to be married. Even though these two knew each other before dating, she never really explained to him about her past...had she done that, a lot could have been avoided.

I love Avery Flynn’s books, but this one just missed the mark. It must not have been proofread before being published because there were numerous grammatical and spelling errors. On top of that, it seemed to rely a lot on the reader being familiar with the oddballs who inhabit Salvation,VA, the town in which the story takes place.

I didn’t care for the narration on this one. The story was okay but I may go back and read it in print in the future. I had a hard time getting past my annoyance with the voices.
