Good Series

The main characters are India Steele, the daughter of a watchmaker, and Matt Glass, a rich American whose uncle is an English Lord. Matt is his heir, and Matt is dying. Magic is real, but few people have it, and they guard the secrecy due to prejudice and persecution. India is a timepiece magician who may be able to help Matt. But they need a doctor magician a d the right spells. This series so far has been about searching for what they need. It is a slow process, which is a little frustrating to me. It seems they only uncover one clue in each book. But, each book also has some other mysterious aspect that drives the plot along, such as solving a murder. Also, there is a slow burn romance that has its own obstacles due to the class system in England. I have found the books interesting and am continuing on with the series.

I have a thing for self published authors! This whole series was just awesome. Probably my favourite of all time. I've fallen in love with CJ Archer's writing...
I highly recommend this series for anyone who's a fan of mild fantasy (or starting out in fantasy) as it's set in the human world with magicians and non-magiacals, London 1890's, murder mysteries and the characters are awesome. It's also got enough romance to keep me happy without being overboard. No smut though, I'm okay with that. Not everything needs smut.

A great set of stories.

I was very impressed with this series of three books. So impressed that I just purchased book four. I was prepared to be bored by book three but was surprised how Ms. Archer could keep my interest going.

The books are a fun read and although it's not really necessary I would've loved to read it before the Glass Library. Either way it's a genuine and pleasant entertainment.
