“all women are ‘that kind of woman’ given the right set of circumstances.”
A very different take on a "Hotwife" romance.
Athena is a successful career woman with a strong marriage who is urged by her loving husband to seek a lover. This is a sweet romance about a happily married couple who take the path less traveled. I'd have liked a little more angst, but what is here is solid, the characters are likable and the sex is hot.
Recommended.

Who doesn't want a husband like Warren? Dinner on the table every night when you get home from, house taken care of, vacations planned, etc... Not to mention, not a financial problem in sight given that he retired early from a very successful career.
I wasn't sure what to think of this story line at first, but having read several books by this author I knew she wouldn't disappoint. She has a gifted ability to bring the emotional connection to all the characters in the relationship, even when there is more than 2 involved.
As always the sex scenes were HOT!!
Am I the only one though that wanted to see Athena's fantasy come true? Even just a glimpse of it? It seemed like the guys got what they wanted sexually (and she was all for it), but her fantasy was only mentioned once and never again. I think it would have completed the triangle especially given the final chapter.

I give up, every single time I think this author can not write a better book then the last one of hers I finished she goes and writes another one, and tackles yet another topic which I can't even come close to imagining and by the end makes it all seem normal. Thriple? Really?? My favorite word of the week.
There was one point at about 3⁄4's of the way through that my heart was racing so fast, I couldn't read fast enough and I was speed walking with Athena yelling You Go Girl!!
I can't even ...this was such an amazing read...I smiled, I shook my head, I was angry, I was flustered, I was in love, I was running around trying to find things to fan myself with...I worked really hard reading this story and I'm wore slap out yet I want to read it all again…
I'm not even going to go into any of the storyline, just know that this is absolutely one of my favorite books so far this year and definitely in the group of my favorites of all time. I have read a couple of books from this author and she continues to blow my mind. I love a good steamy contemporary romance but this book exceeded all my expectations. This author has become one of my favorites this year. I was excited when I got this book I put everything down and started to read it immediately. This talented author never disappoints. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible book.
Athena Lennox is the editor of a lifestyle magazine. She loves her job but her boss tells her they need a redesign. Athena ends up finding the dream team that become her friends. She is happily married to her husband. Her husband wants her to retire and just enjoy life like him. Athena doesn’t want to retire, especially when she has amazing ideas for this magazine. She is busy with her magazine when her husband asks her if she could spice up their bedroom life. Athena is very timid at first until she meets the very handsome Ramsey Peirce. She has never felt things for a man like this before. She knows it’s wrong but it feels so right. Athena quickly finds out that Ramsey is hiding secrets of his own. Will Athena keep some secrets of her own or will she break some rules?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and a lot of drama. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Athena is a very hard working woman that knows what she wants. She will do anything to see her husband happy. There are some very steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will keep you at the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

Rule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander a five-star read is not for the faint of heart. I adore this author and she never lets me down, her stories are always filled with passion and drama and some humour throw in as well, but there is also a sublime plot running through that just gets you. Office romance isn’t one I usually enjoy, it’s a little too close to my current role and its so far away from my day to day that I don’t enjoy, but this time I really did. I must say that above all else this one tugged at more than just my heart strings, there is something special about this whole story and you would be sorry to miss Athena, Warren and Ramsey.

This is a medium length true hotwife story that actually, yes actually contains a full story to go along with the hotwife aspects of it. It is somewhat rare to get a book in this genre that has a plot with (mostly) developed characters who have lives beyond just sex. The sex scenes are hot as well!

Rule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander is such a sexy, steamy, contemporary romance that focuses on an MFM threesome with some drama, intrigue, a little suspense, office romance elements, and plenty of emotion.
I have read all of Ms. Alexander’s books now and I can always count on her to deliver a captivating read. I love that Ms. Alexander never fails to up the ante with each book she delivers- each one slightly eclipsing previous ones. She’s able to create sizzling, interesting, and entirely addictive stories- with a fully developed cast of relatable, quirky, everyday people who come across as entirely realistic, believable, and quite endearing.
On an interesting note, this book seems to be a crossover with Game Changer by Sylvie Stewart, as the two books share characters, stage, and other details. I really enjoyed both books, and loved the clever, entertaining, and original stories both authors produced using the shared elements. While both books can be read as standalones, I really recommend reading both!

Athena is a hard working woman whose husband has recently retired. When her husband springs a fantasy on her that he’s been thinking about she is shocked. She’s not sure if she really believes what he is asking of her, he wants her to be a “hotwife”.
WIth the idea in her head she starts to notice Ramsey Pearce in a different way. He’s a very good looking man with a very nice body and personality. She has never crossed the line of mixing business with pleasure, she had a bad experience when she first started in the field.
As things move forward and her husband encourages Athena to take things further with Ramsey we get some very very hot scenes. When things take a twist at work with a jealous co-worker Athena will have to make some decisions. Ramsey also has some secrets of his own.
What will happen when the secrets come out? Can they make things work between the three of them?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. There was a great storyline and it was hot and steamy. If you're looking for a good MFM read you will enjoy this one. And I loved the Princess Bride quotes, loved it. 1-click and get started today.

Once again I am just a girl staring at her computer screen wondering where to start with another fantastic Phoebe Alexander novel. I can’t possibly do this storyline justice outside of what has already been said in the blurb, and frankly I couldn’t bear to ruin a single thing with spoilers so you won't find them here. For all the fabulous details you will have to take my highest recommendation to discover the wonder that is a Phoebe Alexander novel.
I will tell you I adored the characters in this book. Athena is a fierce woman who has embraced herself and is doing her best to live her best life. Warren was funny and doting, something I really loved seeing and made him relatable and lovable. Ramsey is the sexy heat of the book really and sounds swoon-worthy. The ‘thriple’ that ensues is one sexy, intriguing, and enjoyable read! Prepare for the steamy scenes that Phoebe Alexander is famous for doing so well. I know there were several tall glasses of ice water consumed during the reading of this book lol. I can’t wait to see what else Ms. Alexander has in store for us!

Rule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander is a standalone but is connected to another book by a different author. I read the other book first, but probably should have read this one first not that it matters it's mainly the timeline in my head.
I love Ms. Alexander and everything I have read by her to date. This book held nothing back, Athena and her husband Warren start it in chapter one and it doesn't let up.
I remember a time when I could relate to the female lead because we were young and close to the same place in life. As I've gotten older I have found that I don't get that connection simply because I'm now the age of the lead female's Mom.
Athena, Warren and Ramsey have such an interesting dynamic and the heat is off the charts. Had to put it down a few times just to catch my breath.
If you are looking for some hot moments with a great story to go along with it then this is the book for you.

If you are looking for a super steamy as heck book, you will find it with Rule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander. Go in with eyes wide open and an open mind and in the end, love will prevail over everything. What is a hotwife? I had no clue but I learned pretty darned quick and at first I was just a little uneasy, but in the end, it was really all about love, about protecting those you love, about giving those you love what they need. It was a suspenseful read for me as well. Like how will she get out of this situation, will she do what she needs to in order to protect not only herself but those in her inner circle. Athena is a strong woman with self esteem... a goddess in every sense of the word...a woman we should all want to be in an industry and world full of strong men. Ramsey...oh Ramsey...yeah...he is all that and more.

Rule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander is a romance story with a twist that is hot, hot, hot. Phoebe is known for turning up the heat and she does not disappoint. I read it in one day, on the bus on the way to work, at lunch, on the way home on the bus and last night. I was so immersed that I could not put it down. There are a few characters that you want them to go away but the main characters just hit the spot. I loved Warren he just cracked me up with his excitement of his fantasies coming to life.
What happens when your husband wants to explore other things sexually? What he wants is a “Hotwife” and he may just get what he wants.

This story is an absolute hot, adventurous, steamy, well written, darn near perfect and exciting, story. Warren and his wife Athena are happily married with grown kids. Warren the ever perfect husband, lover and man in general, has a fantasy that he shares with Athena. A hotwife fantasy. I have heard of this in reality but haven’t read about it. WOW! And then “enters” Ramsey! The hot young guy at Athena’s office. It’s almost too easy for this couple. Of course they do come across a couple of bumps in the road because hey not everything is unicorns and rainbows! A fantastic read!

I loved this book! It is hot, steamy and full of romance. I never hesitate to pick up one of this author’s books, they are that good. The characters are well developed, connectable and they brought the story to life. This is a story about love and protecting those you love. Athena has a retired husband who wants to bring a third person into their relationship plus she save a magazine business. She knows the rules but how far is she willing to go to break her own rules? This is a must read story.

That was, without a doubt, the hottest book I’ve ever read. I love these characters. There are so many twists and turns that you never see the end coming. Such an amazing job writing a very realistic, believable story. I got completely lost in this book and felt like I WAS Athena, which is the ultimate goal of any book IMO. This was my first Phoebe Alexander book-but it definitely won’t be my last! Incredible job. 5 stars.

And holy hotness this book is everything! Phoebe Alexander has never been shy with her characters and she isn’t with this book either. I loved Athena; she was strong and knew what she wanted. I adored her husband Warren and then we get Ramsey who was the icing on the cake.

Rule Breaker by Phoebe Alexander. I have never ever been disappointed by one of Phoebe Alexander’s book!!! This book had me turning the pages as fast I could!!! One of the best romance with a twist books….. Phoebe knows how to keep you engulfed in a book…… romance and hot sex scenes!!! Love love loves this one!!!

I couldn’t put this book down! It was so good and super hot! I love male characters who are confident enough to let their partner be free and female characters who are strong. My only regret is that I waited so long to read it!

Thank you for creating characters who are older than the norm in a romance novel! It's refreshing to see people not in their 20s and 30s as the base characters. The blurb for the book caught my attention because it was different than most out there, so I was immediately intrigued. While the insta-spark that seemed to draw Athena and Ramsey together seemed a bit forced, I liked their subsequent relationship. It was explained that he'd been drawn to her before, but it didn't feel totally organic in its original presentation. Secure in his manhood, her husband, Warren, didn't come off that way as a character. He really became a side character, but I didn't think that was the entire intention. Ramsey and Athena were smoking together, and I was there for that. Throw Warren into the mix, and that was even hotter. The other drama was there to add depth to the story, which I also enjoyed. The big drawback for me was the fact the story was entirely from Athena's perspective. I would have loved to have gotten into the men's heads a little more.

Upon intro of the book, we dive right into her now retired husband wanting to make his porn fantasy a reality. She turns down his offer to retire and decides to fight to relaunch the magazine with a full reboot and upgrade. They have been married twenty plus years, which is a plus for me. I like reading romances "after the HEA" and finding out how they navigate married life. He is 51; she is 46.
Then there is Ramsey, 33, to shake everything up for them. With her husband's urging and approval, she embarks on a sexual tryst with Ramsey. If you enjoy reading about office romances, the sex scenes are erotic and scorching hot. They take chances, which are not the best choices, but are a part of their all consuming lust for each other.
I enjoyed it up to where Athena blurts out a secret that wasn't hers to share. I understood why she acted so wrongly in the heat of the moment, but she did not own up for it afterwards. Then she was so angry with Rebecca, when I could understand that Rebecca only had the info that her father and her father's friend gave her. What else would she think? I thought that Athena could have handled that better. So, I was a bit disappointed with her in those respects.
The one I liked the most by the end of the story was Ramsey who started out smug and a bit full of himself, but proved to be the most mature out of all of them. I really did enjoy the storyline about the magazine relaunch with Katelyn, Gwen, and Poppy. I would love Gwen to have her own romance. Fingers crossed.

Book Review: Rule Breaker

Phoebe Alexander is a wonderful story teller. Her stories have real characters that anyone can compare themselves to, and the situations they find themselves in are all too real.
In Rule Breaker this is no exception. Ms. Alexander writes all Body Positive, Sex Positive erotic romance novels. Her characters are in their late 30s and even older. She writes strong females who take no crap from anyone. In this book Ms. Alexander writes about ethical non-monogamy and a hot wife relationship.
Athena and her husband Warren are empty nesters and are looking for some excitement in their sex lives. Warren, who is eight years older than Athena (46) is wanting his wife to enjoy her sexual prime and in order for her to do this he is encouraging her to find another man to play with.
This is their story and how they came to meet and fall in love with Ramsey.
Fantastic and this is only the beginning. Unlike the Juniper Court Series where there were several authors who released books close together to make a complete series, this series is going to be intertwined but not together like the other. The next book "Game Changer" is by Sylvie Stewart and it features Poppy James, who is a character in this book as well.

Athena and Warren live a good life. Warren is retired and Athena works as an editor of a magazine. Only, the magazine is on the chopping block and needs rebranding. Athena must assemble a dream team because she only has a few short months to pitch the new idea. With the help of some fabulous ladies, and one sexy gentleman named Ramsey, she's sure she can save everyone's jobs.
Meanwhile, Warren is looking to add more to their relationship, a way to spice things up and make their relationship more fulfilling. Athena is happy with the way things are, especially with all the pressures at work, so she isn't totally on board. But Ramsey has caught her eye, and even though she would never do anything to jeopardize her job, she can't deny that she's drawn to him. He's going to be good for the project and so much more.
If you're looking for a wonderful couple with a lot of heat, you've found it in Rule Breaker. Athena is strong, assertive, and comfortable in her skin, she's a great leading lady. Warren is funny and he's an adoring husband and big fan of his wife. Despite his past, Ramsey is a great guy, and he's so very easy on the eyes. Rule Breaker has a lot of heat with a great storyline, very well-written and a lot of fun.

Couldn't put it down! This is a great novel with a very well thought out, if surprising storyline. All her characters are so well developed and described that all the scenes leap off the page. There is so much intrigue and animosity amongst some of the character which provide a brilliantly described contrast to the developing love between Athena and Ramsey with a corporate glossy magazine as the background. Add to this Warren, Athena's loving husband of over 20 years who encouraged his wife to become a 'hotwife', taking a boyfriend so he can watch. You will be on the edge of your seat, there is so much happening. It is an incredible MFM menage story which eases gradually into the plot and becomes an organic part. The story is so incredibly steamy, that I would be hard pressed to name another one more so. The writer gives us an HEA, which considering the circumstances of our main player's lives, it wasn't a mean feat. However, all is well that ends well in more ways than one Perhaps a tad optimistic ending and the occasional proof-reading could be improved upon are my only non-10/10 observations.
