Pulp Friction is the second book in the Cider Shop Mystery series written by Julie Anne Lindsey. I've read a few other books by this author (published under pseudonyms) as well as the first in this series. When this one became available via NetGalley, I requested it because I enjoyed the characters and wanted to revisit them. Lindsey delivers a great story in the follow-up book, and today I'm sharing my thoughts on it.
In Pulp Friction, Winona Mae, our mid-20s heroine, runs an apple orchard and cider shop with her grandma in Virginia. They're beginning to turn the family business around, but another murder happens on their property. This time, it's someone at the wedding they're holding for the town. And to make matters worse, the one person seen arguing with the groom before he's murdered is Winona Mae's ex-boyfriend, Hank. Her new love interest, though not much has happened, is the sheriff. How complicated can it get!?!?!
Lindsey's writing style is easy and fun. Her characters are memorable, especially Grannie, Winona Mae, and Sheriff Colton. I do like some of the supporting characters, but this is the kinda book where you really grow attached to the core characters and like to focus on them. The mystery has several red herrings and clues. We get to know the bride, the best man, a few friends, and some interconnected folks who make the story more intriguing. The side stories keep us entertained while the blossoming romance is a nice arc to keep us wanting more each book.
Overall, it's a good series. It's still early on, and I'd like to see a little more character development in the suspects. In this one, I didn't really feel attached to them, so I was okay with whoever ended up being the killer. It was still fun to try to figure it out tho! I look forward to the third book whenever that comes out. If not, she's got plenty of other series I can turn to in the meantime. So should you.
In this second installment in Julie Anne Lindsey's A Cider Shop Mystery series, Winnie has successfully saved her family's business, Smythe Orchards, from going into major debt and is enjoying the success of her newly opened cider shop, which has quickly become a popular destination for locals and tourists to enjoy her ciders and her grandmother's delectable baked goods. She is delighted to be hosting their first event, a wedding for one of the wealthiest families in Blossom Valley. Unfortunately, what should have been a wonderful day turns into a nightmare when the groom is murdered at the wedding, and her ex-boyfriend Hank, who was seen arguing with the groom, becomes the main suspect. Winnie decides to investigate to clear his name.
This is a wonderful and engaging read, with a well-written cast of characters, a picturesque setting, and a clever mystery. Winnie is a character that readers will find relatable and likable. She's hardworking, determined, and loyal to her friends and family. I thought she was a very good sleuth. She acted responsibly and didn't make rash decisions, however, trouble seems to find her even when she's not looking for it. Her relationship with her grandmother and Dot is very enjoyable and adds another wonderful layer to the story. The relationship between Winnie and Colton is progressing at a good pace. We learn new details about Colton's past, and I can't wait to see what the author does with that storyline. The murder mystery had enough suspects and clues to keep me on the edge of my seat. I did manage to figure out who the culprit was about halfway through the story but wasn't sure of their motive. I think this is a great addition to the series, and I eagerly await the third book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Pulp Friction by Julie Anne Lindsey is the second book in the cozy A Cider Shop Mystery series. As with most cozy mysteries each book in this series will have it’s own mystery that will be solved so they can be read as a standalone if choosing to do so. There is however some character building that will carry over from book to book for those who follow the series from the beginning.
The first book of the A Cider Shop Mystery series introduced readers to Winona Mae Montgomery who is doing her best to help her Granny Smythe save the family business, Smythe Orchards, located in Blossom Valley, West Virginia. The orchard had been barely getting by so Winnie was excited to bring in some fresh, new and hopefully money making ideas for the business.
After a small set back of a murder at the Annual Christmas at the Orchard Winnie was able to begin to focus on her business ideas. Now the orchard is thriving with business picking up year round and one of Winnie’s plans is coming about to rent out space for a wedding this spring. The event seems to be going well, that is until the groom killed by a hit and run driver leaving Winnie with yet another murder to solve.
Now that I’ve read both of the books in the cozy A Cider Shop Mystery series I feel like I returned to a familiar place in the Smythe Orchards which makes for a great setting. This series is on the humorous and quirky side which I do enjoy and it has likable characters to go with the lovely setting. With a fun mystery involved in each book so far I’ll definitely be returning to the series with book three.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
When I was asked to take a trip to West Virginia to meet Winona Mae Montgomery or Winnie for short...I was thrilled. I’m always up for meeting new people and investigating...I mean discovering….discovering new places. Winnie owns a cider shop on her family’s property Smythe Orchards. When that nugget of information was given to me...I became even more thrilled with this new adventure! Yummy! We're going to help with a wedding that is taking place at Smythe Orchards. The wedding was going off without a hitch (get it lol) until we noticed the groom and Hank (Winnie’s ex-boyfriend) exchanging heated words and a few shoves. Hank tore out of the parking lot a few minutes later, and Winnie was relieved he couldn’t cause any more trouble. Then we heard the screams! We followed the sounds to the old farm truck that was going to escort the newly married couple from the reception...all decorated up with tin cans and windows proclaiming, “just married”. The getaway vehicle was now a murder weapon. Underneath the truck was now the lifeless body of the groom. Immediately the #1 suspect is Hank, and although Winnie may not be in love with Hank anymore, she doesn’t want to see him go to jail for a crime he didn’t commit. That could only mean one thing….here we go…
My thoughts:
I have not read the first book in the series, but I will be! I finished this book last night, and im glad I let the flavors marinate because...I originally gave this book a 3 but I really think it’s closer to a 4. I really loved the cider/orchard theme of the book...so much potential!! The secondary characters were great!! Granny Smythe ( I see what you did there...Julie Anne Lindsey...and I love it...LOVE THE PUN), Delilah, Dot, the many Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton…don’t get the reference now, but you will lol), boo was adorable, and the mysteries sheriff. The mystery of this book had lots of twists and turns which I enjoyed! I was convinced I had figured out the killer several times before the reveal lol.
Although I really loved the theme and characters as I mentioned...I really needed more character and setting development!! Maybe more involvement from the town. I was just missing that big connection. The ideas are great...give me more!!!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I would like to thank Netgalley, the author Julie Anne Lindsey, and the publisher for this opportunity.
4.5 stars This is book 2 in the Cider Shop Mystery series after Apple Cider Slaying and I loved being back in Blossom Valley, WV! In this book we follow Winnie at her new cider shop as she is hosting a wedding at Smythe Orchards in June. Her ex Hank shows up and is caught in an arguement with the groom to be. She sees him running off and then the groom ends up dead, hit by the honeymoon getaway car. Hank ends up being the main suspect, he's nowhere to be found and Winnie is off to find the truth! Detective Colton is back as well as he and Winnie work together to figure this new mystery out....
I had so much fun with this second book! I love the characters most of all, very easy to relate to and just enjoy her interactions with the characters. I wish we had a bit more of her Granny here and I never was fully attached to some of the suspects but overall loved this book! I did love learning more about Colton's past and I'm dying to see more of Winnie and Colton together in the next book to see what happens with that storyline from his past. Lots of action going on in this book, very well engaging story and I can't wait for the next one.
We are back in Blossom Valley just in time for a wedding at Smythe Orchards. Winnie’s is so excited to have her new cider shop used for weddings and local events. She knows this is the way to make the orchard fruitful and helps keep the place open year-round. But this time, the wedding ends on a sour note, and Winnie’s ex Hank right in the middle of it. He had a dust-up earlier with the groom and now that groom is dead. Winnie knows she should stay out of it but finds herself slicing through the clues to juice the real killer before Hank winds up behind bars.
I loved the first book in this series, Apple Cider Slaying, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. The author exceeded my expectations.
I find Winona Mae Montgomery to be an excellent protagonist. She is smart, and for the most part, thinks things through but like all amateur sleuths just sometimes finds herself in the thick of things she never imagined could happen when she leaps into something. Her friend Dot is a reliable sidekick and a strong character in her own right. Winnie is close to her grandmother and they make a great team running the orchard. We learn some new things about Sheriff Colton Wise as he and Winnie grow closer. Hank is still hanging around and is sometimes his own worst enemy. They are also several animal characters that have their own unique personalities. What I love is all the characters are engaging and realistic in their own ways. They continue to grow and become more endearing.
The mystery was very intriguing and unfolded at a perfect pace throughout the book. There were plenty of suspects and twists and turns and a real edge of your seat moment to grab my attention and hold on tight. I wasn’t totally surprised when the killer was revealed but I had discarded this person earlier.
I love the apple orchard theme. I love visiting local orchards and we can never have enough apples in the house.
A well-plotted mystery, wonderful characters, and a terrific setting make Pulp Friction a must-read.
I do encourage you to read Apple Cider Slaying too so you can get to know these characters from the beginning.
Pulp Friction by Julie Anne Lindsey is the second book in Ms. Lindsey's Cider Shop cozy mystery series and was an engaging story.
Winnie's Cider Shop has become a popular destination for residents of Blossom Valley. Tourists who come for Smythe Orchards tours also enjoy the cider and sweet treats which has helped Winnie and her grandmother to become financially solvent. I like all of the characters that have been introduced in this series and find them to be relatable. I really appreciated the insight that Ms. Lindsey gave us into Sheriff Wise's past in this book. He intrigued me in the first book because of his stoic demeanor.
The plot moves swiftly with few suspects, plenty of red herrings and several twists that kept me turning the pages until the heart pounding reveal. Oh, and the end has me hooked for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Kensington via NetGalley. All of the above opinions are my own.
I loved this second visit to Smythe Orchards and Winnie Mae Montgomery’s cider shop. Winnie is proud her cider shop is being used for a wedding reception. When the groom is murdered, Winnie has to investigate to save her new business. Winnie is the perfect main character, smart and curious. The supporting characters are great too — I especially love Granny (Winnie’s grandmother) and Dot, Winnie’s best friend. I highly recommend this series.
Pulp Friction is the second installment in the highly entertaining Cider Shop Mystery series by author Julie Anne Lindsey. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series, so I was excited to dive into the next book. Ms. Lindsey did not disappoint. She has a terrific writing style that allows the story to flow. The pace is spot on and kept me turning pages to see what would happen next in the story. The characters are very enjoyable. Winnie is the type of protagonist that I enjoy in my cozy mysteries. She is curious, but she is smart in her sleuthing. She is not reckless and does rush into dangerous situations. That's not to say danger does sometimes find her, but she is level headed and not rash. I love the relationship with her Granny and her friend Dot. I look forward to seeing what new animals Dot can get Winnie and her Granny to foster. The relationship between Winnie and Sheriff Wise is progressing. I like the pace that the author has set for them. If feels natural, while the potential romance does not overpower the mystery.
Speaking of the mystery, I thought this one was particularly well done. Ms. Lindsey does a wonderful job of unfolding the mystery throughout the entire story. In addition, in my opinion, she doesn't make it easy for her readers to guess the identity of the killer. There were plenty of twists and false clues weaved into this story and I was surprised by the identity of the killer when it was revealed.
As I said in my review of the first book in the series, this cozy mystery hits all the areas I look for in a series - it has well-written characters, a charming small-town setting, a strong plot, and a solid mystery. I am looking forward to many more books in this series and following the adventures of Winnie and the rest of Blossom Valley.
I voluntarily read a digital advanced reader copy, which was provided to me by the publisher, Kensington, through Netgalley.
I liked this book much more than I did the first one. I was not a fan, but decided to try the second one, because often the first book in a series is problematic and those things get worked out in the second book. And for the most part, they did here. I knew who the killer was, but not the why and the whole backstory and there were enough red herrings to keep me from trusting my gut on who the killer was and so overall, it was a decent book. Good enough for me to read #3. Though I kinda have to, but that isn't something that can be discussed here.
All that said, there are still some problems [and some spelling and grammar errors that I hope some editor found and corrected] - maybe minor, but there are still there and it needs to be said.
1. Winnie needs to respect Colton more. I know they have the hots for each other, but her continued blatant disregard for his job and her [also] blatant disrespect of him as an officer of the law and as a person will end that real quick like. It is already borderline unbelievable and will continue to be so, to the detriment of the story because of it. I don't care if Winnie is nosy [most MC in cozies are], but she seriously needs to respect Colton and the position he holds WAY more than she does.
2. "She wet her lips", "She licked her lips", and "she gnawed the delicate flesh of her nail" ALL. NEED. TO. GO. Please stop using these [over and over and over again].
3. We need more of the cider shop and all that Winnie does there. There is too much running around, and not enough of her actually running the business that supposedly "saved the farm". The farm isn't going to be saved for long if she doesn't stay and actually, you know, RUN THE FARM.
There are a couple more things that could go on that list, but then we are veering into spoiler territory and I don't do those. I will say that the things that bugged me were way less than last time, so I take that as a very good thing.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I'm really loving this series thinking this book might just be better than the first one. It definitely had a lot of action going, and Granny got to have a good part in the take down with her friend Delilah. Those two crack me up, and Granny is so funny how she pretends she doesn't like a man named Owen who loves to come and see her.
Once the book was to a certain point, my suspicions about someone being the killer got stronger. I fell for some of the red herrings along the way. The showdown was exciting, and everything was explained at one point or another...except for a couple of details that I found out toward the end. I don't want to spoil anything but there's part of a side story that will hopefully continue through the next book. I'm really hoping we don't have to wait a whole year. The first book was published last October, this one gets published April 28, so I'm really hoping for another book this fall or winter. I have this Kindle book on order but couldn't resist reading an early copy of it a couple of weeks ahead.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher via NetGalley, and my opinions are my own.
This is the second book in the cider shop series and I loved it just as much as the first. Winnie Montgomery has a newly opened cider shop and is planning her first event, a wedding. Everything is going fine until the groom winds up murdered. Winnie's ex boyfriend, Hank, is the prime suspect having been seen arguing with the groom earlier in the day. Winnie doesn't believe that hank is a killer so she decides to investigate to clear his name. This is such a good series. I love the characters. Winnie and Granny are the absolute best. I love the humor that Hank brings in this book. The mystery was well done and I figured out the killer just before Winnie did. I was yelling at Winnie as if she could hear me and to me that is always a sign of really good writing when I am that invested in a character. We learned more about Colton in this book which I loved but why oh why did it have to be left to the end of the book. That cliffhanger! I need more Colton and Winnie now. Definitely will be reading more. Thank you to net galley and Kensington publishing for this review copy. I was happy to give my honest opinion.
Out now from Kensington Books https://www.kensingtonbooks.com is the highly anticipated second book in the "A Cider Shop Mystery" series by Julie Anne Lindsey, Pulp Friction. Apples have a whole new taste and murder at its core.
Winnie is just one of those characters that you cheer for. She always finds herself in the worst possible situation and finds a way out. She is thoroughly fun and charming, with enough sass to keep readers smiling. Grannie Smythe is extraordinary; everyone wishes they had a grannie like her. She is strong, determined, compassionate, and fiercely loves her granddaughter. Winnie ex, Hank may be attractive and confident, but he is a pain in the behind, and this time he causes all sorts of trouble for Winnie and the orchard. Colton is just plain adorable, and readers will get a better sense of who he is. The setting is perfect, I don't even like apples unless they are in a pie, but after reading the descriptions of the orchard and town, all I want to do is buy some apples and cider and make all sorts of goodies.
The murder is a good mystery. The red herrings, like the apple cider, is plentiful, the suspects are easy to believe. When the killer is revealed, it wasn't a huge surprise, but there was enough doubt to convince me to keep reading to find out why. The motive is believable without being over the top, with a twist that has readers going to their computers and doing a little research.
I enjoyed Pulp Friction and revisiting the cider shop. I look forward to the next book in this series. I encourage readers to get a good drink, perhaps some hot apple cider, a comfy seat, and let these characters take you away from the troubles of the world for a little while.
It's been a while since I read the first book in this series, but I was able to re-immerse myself pretty quickly. Winnie is a likeable main character, although I thought she took a lot of chances, and that was confirmed when she was attacked a couple of times. In this case, a murder takes place on her property when the orchard is hosting a wedding, but it really had nothing much to do with her, so I wasn't sure about her motivation except that she is naturally inquisitive. Plus, since ex-boyfriend Hank had a fight with the victim, then took off, she felt like she wanted to find him and clear his name. Romantic sparks keep flying between her and Sheriff Colton Wise, but so far nothing too serious has developed. Granny is still going strong. There's a slight cliffhanger because a sample that Winnie sent to a cider contest is still outstanding, so I expect we'll learn more about that in the next book. This was an enjoyable and fairly quick read, with a small bit of frustration because of Winnie's tendency to jump into the middle of a problem.
This second installment in the cider shop series is another sweet success. Winnie hosts a wedding for a local bride from a prominent family and her groom who are both now living in Louisville, Kentucky. The joy quickly ends when he is found dead on the side of the barn and Winnie's ex-boyfriend Hank has suspiciously fled the scene after being awfully close to one of the bridesmaids. Although Sheriff Wise warns her not to get involved with the investigation, this mystery hits really close to her home and possibly her heart.
This series has quickly become one of my favorites. Winnie is a strong female main character, not one to shy away from hard work, plus I really admire her devotion and loyalty to her grandmother who not only raised her from childhood, but also remains her highest priority. Her best friend Dot, a park ranger and lover of all animals, is fun, spunky, but also has the ability to reign Winnie in when she sees her starting to cross the line of interfering with police business; that is, if she sees her. Winnie and Sheriff Wise, now known more by his first name Colton to her, continue to build trust and friendship moving forward. Interesting plot twists and a motive for murder I never saw coming. Read in two sittings. Eagerly awaiting the next installment!!
Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington for an ARC of this book. My review is voluntary.
Absolutely love this series!!! Winnie is finally happy to be able to open her place for events! With a wedding set to go and a groom ending up dead can she solve this mystery before it’s too late? You’ll have to read to find out!! I love this author and all her books! What a gem this was leaving me wanting more!! A cozy with all the feels was just what the doctor ordered for me! I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are mine and mine alone. A must read series!
This is the second book in the Cider Shop Mystery series set in Blossom Valley, West Virginia. Winona Mae "Winnie" Montgomery has opened a cider shop on her Grandmother Smythe's orchard. The cider shop is the setting for a wedding that ends with a dead groom and Winnie's former boyfriend on the run.
This is a great addition to the series. I enjoy meeting the townspeople of Blossom Valley. I really like the relationship that Winnie has with her best friend, Dot. As an animal rescuer, Dot speaks to me. The Sip and Sup sounds like a great place to be for food and gossip.
Winnie's relationship with Sheriff Colton Wise is moving along nicely. I'm glad to see that she has moved on from Hank even though he is instrumental to the story line.
I love all the animals! It cracks me up that Dot names all of her rescues Kenny Rogers. Winnie's kittens are charming and the goats were great.
The true mystery was not revealed until late in the book. Without spoilers, it is a problem in Appalachia and I appreciated the way it was handled. I had my suspicions about the murderer early on but it in no way distracted from the plot.
I love the recipes in the book, particularly the ones involving cider. We are close to cider season here in NC and I can't wait!
I read this book in one sitting because I wanted to know what was going on. I look forward to the next book in the series.
This is my first book by Julie Anne Lindsey and I’m so glad that I picked this book up! I was intrigued by the concept of this series because it’s set at an orchard. Normally, I never thought that I would be interested in something like this but Lindsey creates some really cute characters. I love that the main heroine is named Winona Mae Montgomery and her grandmother is named Granny Smythe. It was a nice touch!
First off, I really like Lindsey’s writing style. It’s quick and to the point, getting the mystery moving at a fast face. I especially love this style where the murder happens at the very beginning because it shakes things up a bit and really engages the reader. And for someone who is just trying out a book for the very first time by an author, it makes for a really great first impression.
I loved the characters in this book! Not only was there a touch of humor, but I also really loved all the secondary characters as well. Now that I have discovered Lindsey’s books, I’m looking forward to trying some more. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more of her backlist titles now!
Wow. I just read this in ONE DAY. Which may not seem crazy, but for me that is some kind of record. Needless to say, I loved it! The writing is so perfect for a cozy mystery and the story is crafted in a way that grabs hold and doesn't let go. The descriptions of Granny's apple orchard, the cider shop, and the town were so great that after the first book, I immediately researched an apple orchard to go visit, and now after this book I am brainstorming ideas of how to spice up some apple cider later this fall. _ The Cider Shop Mystery series is now solidified as one of my all time favorites! _ I was so excited that Winnie's dream of opening a Cider Shop was realized and I loved reading about it and imaging that I could visit sometime. The descriptions of her different creations had my mouth watering and I loved how creative she is. Unfortunately for her, another murder takes place in front of the shop, and practically under her nose! I love Winnie's drive to protect her shop's reputation, no matter how much danger it puts her in. _ Also we get a glimpse into Colton's past and I am so here for it! He is a complex character and I cannot wait for more of him! His interactions with Winnie just seem so genuine and I love that he is the silent caring type. I also loved seeing more of her best friend Dot and some of the others in town. _ I am a naturally suspicious person, so I trust absolutely no one (except Winnie's inner circle), so I had some good ideas about who the murderer was, but there were so many other twists and aspects of the mystery that completely shocked and awe me. I so appreciated how this mystery was laid out and the tricky windy path that Winnie takes to finally get at the truth. _ Thanks to the publishers for providing me with a netgalley copy. I was happy to give my honest thoughts.

Review:
The characters are well rounded, well developed and three dimensional. I love the relationship between Winnie and Granny Smythe , you can tell how much they love each other. Even though Hank is her ex- winnie wants to help him clear his name, because she knows he could not be guilty. Colton, the sheriff, and Winnie are getting closer and I am looking forward to seeing what happens between them.
The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. I thought the descriptions were very good in this book and they brought vivid images into my mind while I was reading. The mystery was well plotted and I did not know who the killer was until it was revealed at the end. I had an idea who the culprit was but I was not certain.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher, Kensington Books, and NetGalley, which I greatly appreciate.
I started reading this series because I really enjoyed the author's other series under a different name (Bree Baker, the Seaside Café Mystery series) and while I enjoyed this one, it just didn't quite grab me as those other books did. I like the setting, but there's something about the characters that's more forgettable. The series is also incredibly similar, which is a little distracting.
The mystery was okay, but the culprit was a bit predictable
I'll be checking out the third (and final?) book somewhere later this year.
Pulp Friction is the 2nd book in the wonderful Cider Shop series from author Julie Anne Lindsey. I tried to read this book a bit slower than usual because I didn't want to have to leave Winnie and Granny. I have loved my visits to Blossom Valley. In this one, Winnie finds herself wrapped up in yet another murder mystery after a wedding goes awry at Smythe Orchards in her new cider shop.
One of my favorite things about this story is that I was wondering whodunit right up until the end when it finally hit me. I was totally wrapped up in the story and felt like there were enough red herrings to keep me guessing. I really like all of the characters. I live in eastern Ohio close to the West Virginia border, so the setting of Blossom Valley feels very familiar and relatable.
I honestly cannot wait until book 3 releases - while book 2 wrapped up nicely, the last few lines have me going crazy wanting to read the next book right now! If book 3 was out, I would have immediately purchased it the second I finished this one. It was phenomenal and I would give this way more than 5 stars if I could. I can't wait to see what develops with Colton and Winnie.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
Wow, this one was good! I was totally surprised at the end and who turned out to be guilty. Then ending totally creeped me out and I’m curious as to how soon after this book the next one picks up. I really like the characters and am looking forward to reading more of their adventures.
This one wasn't as good as the first in my opinion. I did enjoy it, but I felt like there really should have been no reason for Winnie to put herself in danger this time other than her being really nosy lol.
I did like what the ending of this book hinted at for book 3 though so I'm pretty excited to see how it goes.
Love this series. Its summer in west Virginia. Winnie owns the cider shop and has a wedding on a weekend. There is an accident and someone is killed. Winnie and her friends set out to find the killer. To hear more read the book
I loved this cozy mystery and found out it was set in the county in WV where I live. Winnie is the amateur sleuth in this series and is always in the thick of the action. Winnie lives on her grandmother's orchard . The grandmother bakes and does tours and Winnie runs the Cider Shop and makes ciders. The murders happen at the orchard. This one is about a groom who gets murdered their at his wedding reception. A GOOD READ.
