Life just got a lot more fun.

Vigilante, Book 1

On the planet now known as High Tortuga, the mine workers are far too close to being slaves so the ruler of the planet shut them down.

Except for the mine owned by Venfirdri Lan.

He's taken his mine off the grid and decided to keep everything running. With no need to pay the workers, profits should be good.

After all, who's going to stop him?

Sentinal, Book 2

Someone sent three fully armed ships to High Tortuga to back the slave-owners running the mines, and Barnabas and Shinigami are determined to find out who.

And take them down.

As they look deeper, however, they’ll find traces of an organization that controls whole mercenary syndicates, industries, and even governments: the Yennai Corporation.

…Some people never learn.

Warden, Book 3

Barnabas has uncovered one of the biggest players in this sector, the Yennai Corporation.

Now he’s in for a surprise - it turns out that the alien who’s been pulling the strings against him is none other than Uleq, the Torcellan who escaped Bethany Anne’s clutches.

Barnabas isn’t taking any chances now. He’s going to find the Yennai Corporation’s main base and bring them down.

Paladin, Book 4

Barnabas has traced the influence of the Yennai Corporation from High Tortuga to their secret base, which he has destroyed, killing both heirs to the company.

Who hasn’t he killed? Koel Yennai, the patriarch and founder…who has sworn vengeance on Barnabas for killing his children and destroying his legacy.

Now, Koel gathers what remains of the Yennai Corporation to hunt Barnabas across known space and kill him.

And Barnabas is more than ready for the confrontation.

Justiciar, Book 5

After taking down the Yennai Corporation, Barnabas has earned a little break.

On the way back to High Tortuga, however, he stops to answer a distress call.

How long could it take, after all?

Barnabas is about to find out.

About the author

Natalie Grey

43 books92 followers
Natalie Grey grew up in rural New England, surrounded by a lot of vegetables and relatively little excitement. Therefore, she was obliged to make up excitement by pretending to be a knight, mage, jet-setting international assassin, jedi, or (occasionally) a shape-shifting dragon. She read everything she could get her hands on, from Lord of the Rings to Modesty Blaise, and eventually started writing her own stories full of what-ifs and snarky put-downs. Now she lives with her two German Shepherd mixes in the frozen wilds of Minnesota, and does a lot of inventive swearing while she shovels.

Slow

If this had not been an omnibus edition I more than likely would not have made it past book 4. The plot meandered after the original villains were destroyed. Plot points abruptly stopped and character development was lacking. Basically this took two interesting characters from the original series but devolved the characters instead of improving their character arcs.

By the six book I really did not care what happened to any of the characters.

Loved it!

Barnabus is one of my favorite characters as is Shingami. The character development is amazing. The team forms a family and before you know it they are challenging each other in ways they never imagined. They all come begrudgingly to the conclusion that they are better individuals by being together. The heartfelt loyalty to each other keeps you on the edge of your seat while simultaneously plunging you deep down into the feels. I cant wait for more adventures!

A very entertaining weeks read

It's a pity I can't give this tome 35 stars because 5 for each of the 7 books is only fair for such an entertaining series. I hope I got off my backside and reviewed these when I purchased and read them individually - if not I should have as they are a top read both together and individually.

Vigilantism at its best

A thoroughly entertaining read that was extremely hard to put down until finished. Barnabas and Shinigami show how their characters grow and deal with species that are set on corruption with some in very underhanded ways. A very well put together series.

Finally!

Great series of books. I've always liked Barnabas and wanted more of his story. This series satisfied that desire, for now. The development of Shinigami was fun to watch too. I'm looking forward to the next story arc....

It's good.

It's really good and nice to read a series from start to finish without waiting for the next book to be issued. It's especially nice when the series is this good.

Vigilantes can have philosophical discussions.

Throughout the series Barnabas and Shinigami explore what it means to be human. Discussions of emotions, desires and ethics cross species. Let it be pointed out that the middle of a firefight is not the best time for talking. These Vigilantes do not shy away from fighting with weapons and words.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Working my way through this omnibus took time, but the overall story arc kept me coming back, making me want to finish it and find out what happens in the end. Well, somewhat frustrating and satisfying at the same time, as you see the end of this story, and the beginning of the next, i.e. Aliana and Barnabus. Liked the growth of Shinigami, her crew, and of course, the boss.
The stories remind me of the old western movies, of good and bad, of redemption stories, that not all we do is for the right reasons, but it may work out in the end. You know, I like the "snide" comments, the snippets of life, how the authors recall elements of our common humanity and inhumanity. May their vision of a universe that operates in the end with a level of justice,of caring for the rights of others be in the forefront of our thoughts, not just as we read our books, but inn our own daily actions and activities.
Thanks for writing.😺🎅

Great Series

If. You love the Kurtherian Gambit Series you'll love this series based on Baranabus. We see him get to know Shinigami (Bethany Anne's ship and ship AI). We see Shinigami grow from being very like Baba Yaga to having a more caring personality to wanting and eventually getting her own body. We're left wondering if Baranabus will eventually get a love life ,I'm hoping that in a future Book in the Kurtherian Universe we"'ll find out.

Absolutely love this series!!!

I so didn't want this series to end!!! I'm trying to read the KGU in the order of what's happening everywhere. It was so hard to stop between books and go read the others. Can't wait until I get back to more of Barnabus and Shimigani's adventures! Love all the characters, world and cool aliens you've created!!!! Thanks!!!

This series of seven books features Barnabas from the Kurtherian series. Barnabas is no longer Ranger One but become known a vigilante still seeking to help bring justice to the universe. From the time he appears in his monks robes Barnabas has been a favorite character with me. The action doesn’t stop in this continuing series of books.

Not bad

Not too bad,but much too drawn out. Usual errors but generally not a bad story. I detest the author noted at the end of each story, to me it reeks of self-congratulatory arrogance

Enjoyed it and looking for more.

Very enjoyable I had a hard time putting it down. The series was funny and compelling in the action of the combat and the interaction of the group and those around them. I enjoyed it and am looking for more.
