The Initiation

Rate this book
It’s like breathing. I don’t even need to try.

I was born to be a Navy SEAL.
I knew it was my calling and wasted no time in joining up.
My training. My missions. My team.
I love every bit of it.
But I never knew I would ever want this...
A calm, quiet day. Away from it all, including my brothers.

Just to be with her. Bree.
The thought of her name makes my knees weak.
How could someone have so much power over me?
The navy didn’t prepare me for this.
And I never thought making a choice could be so hard.
What do you do when love is standing between you and the country you vowed to protect?

War brought me in. Will love push me out?

ONE DAZZLING ADVENTURE!!!
Burn! One smoldering hot tale with a side of simmering delight! You get one thrilling storyline with a blazing plot that rocks this little jewel from start to finish. Alex really brought out the heat in this tough as nails, 100% on point realism that spins so intense, bursting with emotions bringing this gripping jewel to life spectacularly. The tension is thick, the chemistry palpable and the connection is skyrocketing. Twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches, bumps and bruises catapult this baby together flawlessly. The characters are authentic, relatable and so realistic with depth and individuality which blend and flow smoothly. The scenes are so graphically descriptive it paints a wonderful backdrop that gives the illusion your right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Awesome job Alex, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.

This was a first time read for Alex Howell, and I can assure you that I will definitely be reading each and every single one of Howell's. future releases. This incredible book centers around Mason and his love of three years, Bree. Dealing with the struggles they face as well as the strength of character to Mason is beautiful to read. I can not wait for the next release after being introduced to this couple. May they continue to endure.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of The Iniation in exchange for my honest opinion & voluntarily given opinion.

To Alex Howell directly, I am a huge advocate for our Service men & women and I feel the need to thank you for bringing attention to the service, as well as touching on all they and their Families, endure for their service they provide for us.

Mason met the love of his life two days before he left for boot camp. Bree is beautiful, smart and so
supportive. They’ve grown closer than ever over the last few years. He can’t wait to start a life with her. He loves the Navy SEALs and the men that are part of his team. But he loves Bree more. She’s all he thinks about. It’s time for him to make a decision about their future. He makes a move to secure their future only to be pulled right back in again. The Navy isn’t letting their best problem solver go that easily.

This is a prequel to this series.

Mason is ready to start his military career but worries about leaving his girl behind. They work to keep their relationship going while he is away doing his thing. Now the time has come when he just wants to be with Bree and start their future together. However the military doesn't want o lose their best soldier and tries to keep him in. Will they get their happy ever after or will the military keep Mason away from home longer?

This is a great story that'll have you on the edge of your seat. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for Bad Boy Update.

This book goes back in time to when Mason Walker was just starting out in the military and jumps between then and 3 years later. It's a short quick read, less than 50 pages. I have read the other books in the Mason Walker series and enjoyed them. This one gives us a little bit of insight into Mason and how things came about for him. It was an okay read. Not as good as the other books in the series as it didn't have the same action and intrigue that they have. It's too short to really do that and is meant more as a prequel/get to know Mason I think.

He was born to be a Navy Seal. It was his calling and nothing stood in his way. It was all he wanted, but that all changed when he saw her. How could one person how so much power over him. Who will he choose the country he fights for or his heart. A great story that will keep you reading to see what happens.

Prequel that will leave you wanting more

Short prequel that gives a good opening for the rest of Mason Walker series. I already read all books in this series and this one was welcomed addition. Great writing that, in my opinion, realistically shows life and missions of the Navy SEALs.

This is a short, quick read about Mason Walker. The story has two timelines. It starts in 2010 when Mason is already a NAVY SEAL, preparing for the last mission, thinking about his girlfriend Bree. And the year 2007 when he met her for the first time. It was my first read from this author and it was good.

I loved this insight into the man Mason is in the Mason Walker series! From the beginning he has had to grasp with his duty to his brothers and his loyalty and the love of his life. This is short, but Alex packs so much in that it's the perfect length!
