Pacific Northwest author L.L. Frost writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance with snarky characters and descriptive world-building. Whether she's writing a fast burn romance about witches, wolf shifters, and vampires, or teasing a slow burn romance while hunting demonic monsters, her passion is for character driven novels.
Growing up in a rainforest gave L.L. Frost plenty of time to daydream while spending cozy days under a blanket with her cats by her side. Sipping tea or chugging coffee, you can find her with a book or laptop in hand, imagining new worlds.
There was almost no interaction between Adie and her guys, plus I feel like she made a big decision unrealistically quickly, but it was alright. More typos than usual.
Adie escaped the Nightmare monster but her trouble isn't over yet. Overhearing an argument between her beloved mentor and her Chaos Demons, Adie knows what she has to do. She may be a baby succubus unwilling to feed off humans in case she may hurt them but she's not weak. Adeline Boo Pond, trainee of Landregath the Great Devourer, Protector of Imps, Slayer of Hunters, Life Giver to Torch the Tiny Flame, Rider of Storms, Drinker of Ice Ages, Embracer of Chaos takes action and does what she must for others without hesitation. Oh, there will be a price to pay!
I've come to expect so many things from this serial; laughs, frustration, hope, fear, excitement and now heartbreak. They always say eavesdroppers hear no good. Yet who can resist when they realize the conversation is about them?? I have never related to Adie more. Still, the old saying was certainly true here. And Adie handled the information she learned the only way she could. Were there other choices? Could things have been talked over more? Probably, but again I am with Adie. Delays would have made things worse since time was important. Hesitation would only make everything harder. She may have acted partly out of pain, but mostly out of concern for others. And ultimately it was her decision to make, her price to pay. I found her to be brave and selfless. The ending was concerning on a couple of levels and I am dying to know what the Chaos Demons think and feel about everything. I have never looked forward to the next installment more!
Falling is the continuation of L.L. Frost’s (mis) adventures of Adie Boo Pond, the (un)lucky succubus. This serial is the fourth installment in the Succubus Dreams serial. Adie has faced something dark and dangerous from the InBetween, where a dangerous creature lives…and is supposed to be sleeping. But something has changed, and the human plane is now in danger. Falling is a fast-paced addition that keeps you page-turning as you race to learn what is going to happen next. Adie is facing some hard facts that for so long she has been reluctant to face. It’s time for her to grow-up, to stop making mistakes, but it seems that she just keeps making more. I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about Adie with this installment. I know, I know…what else is new at this point. Right? LOL! Well, on one hand I’m proud of Adie for finally deciding it’s time for her to stop playing at being a succubus already, but then I’m disappointed in how she handles things. Now, I say that, but I appreciate it and her at the same time. The author is simply emphasizing that Adie is flawed and that makes her a bit more relatable. Of course, it’s to be expected that she would be naïve about trying to first find a quick fix solution, but it’s a bit surprising that the three demons would choose to be just as naïve. I get that they would think an easy solution that benefits them in more ways than one would be preferred, but I was surprised that only one of them seemed to be thinking sensibly. I really did enjoy this installment and it kept me entirely engaged. I can’t wait to read what happens next as this book’s cliffhanger has me eager for more. So I am choosing to rate this installment 5 out of 5 stars.
This is by far my favorite serial! You just have to love this story and Adie. She’s such a good succubus. Just think how much easier her life would her been if everyone had been truthful with her and not kept so many secrets. But even now, after her great sacrifice, people are still keeping secrets from her. And par for the course it’s Adie’s luck, it seems her sacrifice was in vain. Poor Adie! This was a good cliffhanger. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
When taking down demon hunters look like a piece of cake, you know the problem is BIG. Adie can't seem to escape trouble and this installment is decidedly more sad in mood. We also see the demon plane and more of Dreamland as Adie realizes her earlier troubles are nothing compared to danger the entire human world is now facing. The cliffhanger is a doozy, and I'll be anxiously waiting to find out what Adie and her family and friends will do.
So Adie gets some spectacular healing. Then she throws it all away after some eavesdropping. It turns out that she pretty much did it for no reason.
We do learn how it is Adie's contract with the guys really came about. I didn't even suspect, but when you think of it, it makes sense. Now what will she do?
I read these novellas as soon as they come out. They’re always too short but I’ve come to love the characters. This novella in particular was unexpected for me and left me extra excited to read the next one.
I'm obsessed and I need more! I tore through the entire series in 2 days, ave waiting a month for the next serial is going to be brutal. I'm absolutely hooked on these characters.
Another amazing serial in Audie’s life. This one was kind of sad but in a good way. Adie is growing found out info about how she came to be with her guys. Will the choice she makes be bad or a good thing? Can’t wait for the next one.
Damn, this is getting good. Ok, ok, I've been a fan of Adie's for awhile. She's had a lot of ups and downs, but this story arch is magical, screwed up, and darkly delicious. How long until the next one??
Sleeping sickness?? Adie wandering Dreamland??!!! So much happening in this installment!! Landon bring her back to her guys!! So freaking good as ALWAYS!!!
So I'm this I instalment Boo makes some classic Boo choices. Always one to charge ahead before thinking it threw. Looking forward to see how her demons respond.
Well... this book is definitely not what i saw happening next in Adie's story. I can't believe one of the things she has been fighting throughout the story has come to pass anyways at her own choice. I hope she can get out of Dreamland and back to her form ASAP! Her men are going to need her as much as she needs them (even if she doesn't know it fully)
