Life in Christ is the essence of our faith. The apostle wrote, 'If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation'. He addresses the Ephesians as the 'faithful in Christ Jesus'. He uses this idea nearly two hundred times in his writings. For Paul, a Christian is simply a man or woman who is 'in Christ'. Theologians call the believer's connection with Christ 'union with Christ', and state that it is 'the central truth of the whole doctrine of salvation', and 'at the heart of evangelical theology'. But what does it mean to be 'in Christ'?
