About the author

I am a creator of worlds and a destroyer of words. As a fantasy writer, my works range from traditional epics to futuristic fantasy with starships. I have worked as an unpaid Little League pitcher, a cashier, a student library aide, a factory grunt, a cubicle drone, and an engineer--there is some overlap in the last two.

Through it all, though, I was always a storyteller. Eventually I started writing books based on the stray stories in my head, and people kept telling me to write more of them. Now, that's all I do for a living.

I enjoy strategy, worldbuilding, and the fantasy author's privilege to make up words. I am a gamer, a joker, and a thinker of sideways thoughts. But I don't dance, can't sing, and my best artistic efforts fall short of your average notebook doodle. When you read my books, you are seeing me at my best.

My ultimate goal is to be both clever and right at the same time. I have it on good authority that I have yet to achieve it.

This was a prequel to the series. It tells you what led up to the apocalypse 1000 years ago. Aliens attacking our world. They fumigated our world like we were nothing but roaches. Killed every last human. But not before some of the humans were uploaded into robots. The robots eventually take out the aliens and regain earth, but the cost was everything, including humanity. For 1000 years, they repair the world, hoping humanity can be brought back. I did enjoy this listen, but I wish the author had told us how the robots won. Only that the original robot (Charlie) was ashamed how it was done, so only he knows now what happened.

This one was at the end of Book 1 - Extinction Reversed.

I thought it was a perfect place to put this information because after reading book 1 we are invested in the characters and only had teasers about what actually happened to the earth.

I'm in love with this series and so would recommend you check out these books.

What a short story should be. You definitely need to read the first book before this one if you want to avoid spoilers. Learning about Toby is amazing. How it all began is facinating and it's nice seeing the characters beginnings.
