I’ll be honest, the degradation of women is hard for me. The degradation of children is a no go. Until this book, I could handle the degradation of men. But this? From his POV and what they did to him, that was devastating.
Huh! Didn’t see that coming. Well played Measha Stone.
This feels like a more coherent version of Sick Fux. That’s not to belittle what Tillie Cole did, because it was sheer brilliance in its fantastical goodness. But what Dolly does is give you a clearer insight into the mind of the abused, I feel more of not only the injustice but the emotions towards each other. How much they need each other to survive.
Interesting how easily the tables are turned.
It’s about control and replacing the ugliness with beauty. Beauty as they say is in the eye of the beholder.
I appreciate that not all the monsters are men. It’s more real to life to have women who are homicidal deviants. Corruption and evil knows no bounds such as gender, race, religion, etc.
It’s weird to compare but Ken reminds me a bit of Rhys (ACOTAR) for the fact that he pushes Dolly to take charge in the action.
I’m surprised I’m gonna say this but there wasn’t enough turmoil at the beginning, even though I hate it, I feel like it would’ve improved the story if they endured more. The second half lulled a bit, perhaps too much time between finding the culprits. Otherwise this was an amazing read.

Do not be fooled by that sweet face because Measha came to play HARD on this one.
DOLLY starts off creepy as fuck. I got to chapter two then stopped to message her because I had that damn ominous, "don't look over your shoulder" feeling. And it didn't go away lol
This is a brutal story of what happens when a couple of guys decide they want to make easy money at the expense of others. It's a tale of caution in the sense where being the hero that you're programmed to be isn't always in your best interest. There were a couple of parts where my mouth dropped open because she got me so good with what happened.
Very rarely do I consider a book a page-turner, but if you love dark (and I mean actual dark) reads, can handle some mayhem and murder, you absolutely need to read DOLLY. And if you can't handle those things, come for the vindication of knowing that through the darkness, the light will eventually shine.

I seen this book on my feed alot and was okay I'll give it a shot. Now this Is not a romance but then again.. I'll put it under Dark romance because of the two characters in this story.. and not for the faint at heart. This Is a FUCKKKKEDDDD up book. So just a warning and below I listed some triggers AND SPOILERS if you wanted to know. Again.. THIS IS DARK!!!
Now when I say dark its dark but out of 10 maybe a 9 on my dark level. You meet these set of characters that you are rooting for hoping things turn out okay for them. I kid you not I was on the edge of my seat wondering if the next chapter they shall get their revenge for all the pain, humiliation, everything those assholes put them through. And believe me you are rooting for payback. I was.. And that's the reason why I rated this book so high.. let's get into some of the story.
Dolly (h aka Abigail) has been taken and she doesnt remember much it's like a Foggy blur. She is abused and many other things on a national web cast. think of it as like a dark web type of stuff.. and with each page your biting your fingers hoping shes rescued or she escapes.. my heart broke for her with all the pain she went though.
With Dolly their is also a Kendoll (H aka Brian).. someone who was also kidnapped and brought into this sick twisted world.. and like dolly he is abused and humiliated but he isnt giving up hope he and dolly can escape and make sure every single person gets theirs. And boy their are twist and turns.. and betrayal you do not see coming.. now why i say dark romance? Well dolly and Kendoll do fall for one another during their captivity. They share what they went through and even more so they are eachothers rocks.
Angst, Drama, sex(between Dolly and Kendoll & also as seen below with the evil rapist)
Recommend- maybe if you can handle dark reads

Plot
Dolly was a revenge story, plain and simple. A gruesome and graphic revenge story. The hero (Ken) and heroine (Dolly) are action heroes with a taste for repaying pain with pain, and there’s a grim satisfaction to their quest for vengeance.
To begin with, the actual story was entertaining. There is very little in the way of twists or cleverness. The bad guys tell you who the new bad guys are while they’re tortured. Then H and h go on to torture those and move to the next. Miss Stone didn’t linger on the repetitive though, and I thank her for that.
The book is short, but it’s better like that. I would not have added more or taken anything away. I can appreciate a well-paced short book far more than a page stuffed book that should have been turned into a short one.
Characters
The characters are very simple. They’re basically cardboard cutouts of characters, and when I’m reading an action book or a mystery, I’m okay with that. This was classified as a romance though, and I think it tried to be a romance. That means you need some stronger characters.
There’s nothing really wrong with them, but I don’t think anyone can really connect with Ken unless they’re a revenge seeking cop. Or if they have a sex puppet of a Little Girl (yes, I do mean that there’s a bit of a DDlg kink in there).
Dolly is a little more well developed, and a lot of things can be forgiven due to her past and present trauma. That doesn’t mean that she’s a good character, but she’s not a bad one.
Again, if you look at this like a romance, you’ll see the characters as flops, but if you see it as a revenge/action book, it’s not too bad. I wouldn’t read this book for the romance (sadly, that’s what I was looking for).
Writing
So, this was my problem area while reading the book, but as I look back at the story while I write this review, it’s really not that bad.
The dialog was rough. Especially at the beginning. The descriptions and transitions are rough. Again, especially at the beginning. It’s almost like Miss Stone hadn’t quite figured the characters out initially.
The pacing was great, and the sex was hot. I never really immersed myself in the world, but again, this was an action book, and as long as I keep that in my mind, it’s really not too bad. Sex was good. H and h were gritty and harsh vigilantes. The bad guys get what they deserve in the end.
And I never got turned off by the writing. All in all, not bad writing, but I wouldn’t buy the book for it.
Extra – Gritty and graphic
Alright, this is where Dolly really succeeds. The vengeance is exceptional. The torture scenes are over the top, and unlike so many, they’re not tasteless. I hate gore and over the top torture scenes, but I was rooting for the H and h on this one. I wanted to see that son of a bitch gutted.
The sex scenes are graphic and super hot. If you’re looking for some action/adventure smut, this is it. Hot girl who needs her spanking and sexy action guy cop who gets off on protecting her and then fucking her like a sex puppet. Definitely hot.
Overall, Dolly was good, but I wouldn’t say it’s a great “romance”. It’s a good action book, but I wasn’t wanting a revenge book. I wanted romance with an action packaging.

Oh my word, Measha Stone does Dark incredibly well.
Dolly throws you into thedark end deep end right from the start. It's fairly harrowing at times, particularly because we experience the suffering, rather than just impassively observing. What I really enjoyed was how the story moved forward and how we got to really know Dolly and Ken.
It's really difficult to discuss the book without revealing spoilers, so I'm just going to say that the plot totally and utterly held my attention throughout. I've read vaguely similar plotlines previously, but this was not a weak or carbon copy of them. Instead it far surpassed those previous reads, due in no small part to the quality of writing and the amazing characterisation of its protagonists.
The symbiotic relationship between Dolly and Ken, the self-reflection, self-understanding demonstrated by the both of them, the incredibly believable love and connection they shared just took this book to another level. With all the difficulties and stress of the current world situation, a dark book felt like the last thing I wanted to read. However the darkness here was filled with such strength, it transformed to such power that, instead of dragging me down, instead it lifted me up in a way I hadn't expected.
I massively recommend Dolly and am hoping Ms Stone dips her toes into dark waters again.

Dolly (Abigail) was taken and kept in a cell and was sold everyday to the highest bidder to decide what her fate for the day was. Until one day a Kendoll showed up.
Brian was a police officer, he was put onto a task force to find the missing girls that had been taken. After getting a clue from tech guy to the last know place the kidnappers pinned to. Brian and his partner arrived at the warehouse and was met with a trap. Once Brian woke up in the cell next to Dolly he realize he is now the new plaything with Dolly.
Kendoll (Brian) in the cell right beside Dolly, another victim dropped down this rabbit hole of darkness. Kendoll refuses to stop fighting no matter what is done to him. Until the one day he gets the break he needs, Bossman never knew what hit him.
And when and if they escape...watch out, they are going to reign hell on everyone who hurt them..

Tbh, I don’t even know if this is worth my time writing a review. I’m shocked to see it have such high ratings.
The book starts off great! So dark, disturbing and lots of page-turning content. Then shortly after, the couple escapes and this book went downhill FAST.
So much made no sense whatsoever and the characters personalities flipped back and forth. The romance between the two just happened out of thin air. There was no build up.
Just whatever. Yeesh. The start of this book has a huge potential to be a 5-star. I loved the darkness of the beginning, but this is more of a thriller than a dark romance.
It’s 1am and I’d rather be sleeping, so excuse any typos. I won’t be revisiting to fix. I want to forget reading this book ever happened.

This book is not for the faint of heart. I read it during a very dark time for me and needed to read this book to escape. And escape I did .
Dolly is a very dark book, sex trafficking, sexual abuse to minors. But there is base story and vengeance. Very well written . But please beware of the warning.

There's DARK.
There's VERY DARK.
And there's WHOA DARK.
This one is VERY WHOA DARK. I loved it.
I've read all of this author's work & I love her writing, her plots, her characters because I become invested in them all & wonderfully enthralled to the point I forget I am reading a book. This one is no different in that respect. Yet, while her books can be delightfully kinky & deliciously twisted, they are rarely dark.
But this one? GAH!!!
This one is saturated with, dripping with, flooded by, oozing with, pure unadulterated EVIL.
The EVIL that humans perpetrate on others they lust to prey on with gleeful, heinous depravity. And they always ensure their victims are too small, too young, too weak, too controlled & contained to even attempt to fight back or offer physical resistance.
This story instilled me with rare feelings of wrath, anger & even rage at the evil done to the 2 main characters: 'Dolly' & 'Kendoll'. Nothing (in real life) so fans the flame of my anger as abuse of others. Nothing.
So right there, the depth of my feelings tells me just how intensely I was drawn into this one & how I empathized/sympathized with Dolly & Kendoll. My jaw was clenched for almost all of the first part of the story & despite the horrors exposed with the turning of each page, I did keep turning the pages because HOPE that SOMEHOW Dolly & Kendoll would perservere kept me doing so.
And sometimes, sometimes, EVIL gets its' just desserts . . . .
This IMO is a superlative example of writing, of dragging the reader into a black hole of evil, darkness, depravity, betrayal, retribution, rage, of stellar character development, of plotting, of keeping the reader enthralled, engrossed & on tenterhooks. I would not have missed reading this one for anything.
Be very, VERY sure you are able to take pitch black dark before reading this one. BUT, if you take the dare, I cannot imagine you will regret you did so.

Perhaps I've become too tainted with all the pitch black reads I've gone through..
But this book was okay. Not mind blowing. Not earth shattering. Not too emotionally gripping. Like goldilocks ... it was .. just right, I guess? Right in the middle.

There were a lot of gruesome scenes. However, it was written well. I never felt like it was done for shock value, everything melt well with the story.
I assumed that this was not a personal story.But I was wrong by the halfway mark. Everything that happened to Dolly was personal. Years and years of sick twisted Horrors.
Ken had two personalities. One, he wants to uphold the law and find these missing girls, then two, he is a hacker that tortures pedophiles. I would rather two. Some storyline was a little unbelievable and even funny, but it didn't pull me away from the story.
Ok, I lied. The ending got me rolling my eyes because they turned into an international vigilante.

Being in captivity, Dolly learned to accept and adapt to her environment. A new captive gave her hope for a better future, though their road to freedom might be paved in blood.
I was drawn to both Dolly and Ken. I liked seeing how they coped and how their characters evolved, and of course, rooted for them right from the beginning. The story made my dark soul sing. It was dark, depraved, and gory. And the ending was exactly what I hoped for.
I cry out, not because of the pain, but because of how easily he fulfills that need in me. How quickly the dueling demons in my soul settle when he takes everything over.

50 shades of DARK !!!!!!!!!!!!! This twisted page-turner had me truly rooting for this flawed couple, Dolly and Kendoll!

Really disliked this and am confused at how it has so many positive reviews. I knew it was going to be graphic, and that at times was hard to read, but I have read other retribution type books and really enjoyed them, but that was not the case with this book.
There were so many elements that just felt rushed or not thought through beyond just the trauma of it that kept bothering me. I felt like they fell into a romance WAY too fast without the author building their connection up. I hate that they literally have sex two seconds after killing people (and yes I get the trauma connecting them and the need to reclaim themselves after the trauma but it still felt so out of place to me). And then them not just calling the fucking police? Wtf? And then him basically taking over the roll of being controlling over her while they had sex? It was very messed up and I disliked it overall. I literally had to skim the rest of the book because I could not handle how rediculous it was- every 3 seconds there was someone who was backstabbing them or in on the plot and it seemed to make literally no sense. I just really disliked it.

This book started out with a bang just right to it. Abigail was sold by her father to a man who turned her into Dolly who beat her and held her captive to make videos. These people were brutal and the people who were making request were even sicker. Detective Brian is sent to work on a taskforce with his partner Cathy when the he gets a lead in her they go to rescue her but things don't go as planned and Brian becomes Kendoll. This was a pretty good dark read. Ken gives Dolly hope to hang in there and not give up.This book had a lot of twist and turns in it some that I didn't see coming. I liked that Brian did let her give up and kept his word to get them out. When these two begin having sex it was hot and kinky and the choking it was like she couldn't get off without being hurt which I think started from her parents who were sick also I mean her mother knew what her father was doing and would watch the videos he made. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

I'm not sure what to say about this. If you have triggers, please be wary. But damn Measha can dive into the depths of depravity and still make me love her words. This is definitely a twisted ride that left me needing some time with rainbows and fluffy puppies. LOL! If you like your stories twisted, dark, and depraved, get this RIGHT NOW!

well...I devoured the story and the characters... captivating and disturbing..."Ken" is special and his relationship with "Dolly" is a crescendo of emotions, sensations and feelings"! it's not a book for everyone!

Such a heartbreaking tale of vigilante justice.
Let me start by saying this book has VERY heavy subject material. Please check your TWs before reading.
Dolly has been taken as is being used as the subject of explicit material. Brian is one of the detectives assigned to her abduction case. Kendoll is held captive in the cell across from Dolly. She has become submissive but he won’t stop fighting to get them out of there and away from their abusers. After escaping, they go on a mission of vigilante justice. They will find all those who wronged them. They will find all of the missing girls and return them home. They will be together forever.
All I can really say is this was all about Dolly taking her power back. She had so much done to her for so long and it was only eye for an eye. I can’t help but understand her point of view. Who wouldn’t want to replace their bad memories, their memories of hopelessness and helplessness with ones of strength and domination. Though Kendoll was subjected to some of the things Dolly was, his vengeance was getting it for Dolly. He cared more about her than his own feelings
I enjoyed this book, even with the heavy and taboo subject matter.

This book started off strong—Dolly’s emotions of fear, hope, and then hopelessness were handled really well in the beginning. Same goes for Ken’s mission; the tension and stakes felt believable. It was fine up until chapter 12. After that the pacing went off the rails, the emotional depth disappeared and it feels like the writer just wanted to get the book over with. It felt like a badly written fan fiction tbh.

Let's start off with the writing style. It was one of the book's biggest weaknesses. Repetitive phrasing with the same actions and sentence structures showing up again and again—forehead wrinkles, grabs my wrist, grabs my waist, I peck him on the lips, the stubble on his chin and similar gestures that lost all emotional impact. If you've read the book then you probably know what I mean. Let's go through a few examples:
1. “Dolly—” I start in a whisper, but she holds up her hand.
2. I pick up her hands and bring them to my mouth, pressing my lips to her chilled knuckles.
3. His hands on my waist pull my focus back to him.
These were some of the main things that were repeated in the book again and again. Let's move onto lack of sentence structures. Though these work well at times, they were extremely overused in the book.
1. We find our relief, we find our home, we find our love in each other.
2. “I wish you had better memories. I wish I could go back and erase the bad shit from your mind.” (bad shit? seriously?)
3. This girl has no worries in her life. This girl is innocent.
Lastly, typos. Which seriously shows a lack of dedication if you ask me.
“He would watch, make them do those things to me, and the he’d—”
Like I said, a poorly written fan fiction 🙏🏻

The dialogue lacked nuance. It just felt like.. they were written and not spoken. Many emotional moments just came off flat. Overall, the writing didn’t do justice to the gravity of the plot or the emotional weight it was trying to carry.
This book was trying to cover a very emotional topic and despite the potential being their, the execution didn't do it justice. The author was so fixated on writing g0re scenes instead. After their escape, that's all the couple seemed to be doing. T0rturing those guys for revenge and thats it.

The romance felt abrupt, with no natural buildup—he just seemed to fall in love suddenly after they escaped, and that was that. A story like this could’ve raised awareness, explored trauma and healing, and left a lasting impact. But the book became so fixated on brutal revenge that it lost sight of the actual message behind it.

Going into this one cold is the best way to experience this plot and level of depravity. Feeling the pain and helplessness is palpable, but it also fuels their hopes. With some twists, this book ticked the boxes for debauchery, morally bankrupt characters and the ability to cope.

This is definitely a darker tale. It's not the blackest of reads I have read but it definitely is not in the grey. It has triggering content for torture and rape. Some of it may make you cringe or feel downright disturbed. Maybe even anger because of who the victim is.
Some of it might make you cheer and think "that's better than you deserve" while also still being a little disturbed by it.
I liked our two lovers. The H was a true hero although maybe a bit unconventional and our damsel in distress ended up evolving from being passive to reclaiming some power back.

Dolly began horribly and ended in a somewhat better way. The beginning tells of Brian, a cop who is put on a case to find missing girls, particularly Abigail. He is given information of where Abigail may be and goes with his partner to investigate. What he finds ends up becoming a nightmare, for him and for Abigail - who has been kidnapped and tortured by perverted and depraved men.
The beginning is rushed and the relationship between Abigail and Brian begins out of nowhere. I wish there had been more developed there. And it wasn't until toward the end where I really started to enjoy it. I wanted a dark and twisted story, which I got, but the beginning needed a lot more. And Abigail and Brian just didn't fit as nicely as I had hoped, especially knowing what Abigail supposedly went through at the beginning. I do happen to love when characters seek revenge and this helped me get through this book.

Very very reminiscent of Sick Fux. I prefer Six Fux. This book didn’t have that much closure which I feel like was needed. And the cover scares the shit out of me😭😭

This book is dark. Like DARK. I mean like really DDAARRKK. So pick this up with caution. Definitely not for kids. I'd say 20+.
When I was a kid, my parents used to tell me to stick close to them whenever we go outside. Otherwise, bad men might kidnap me and quite possibly kill me. The threat worked just fine till I was maybe 10 years old. By then, I was fairly confident that nothing would happen to me. I mean, I was a big, strong girl now. Who could touch me? When I grew a bit older, my mom told me to dress decently. Clothes that revealed too much skin aren't allowed, because bad men might look at me the wrong way. This book makes me want to bundle myself up with a hundred layers of clothes and hide away in Rapunzel's tower so that no one can see me. That way, there is no chance of anything even remotely horrible as the things in this book happening to me.
Dolly (aka Abigail) is a twenty three year old girl, who through no fault of her own, ends up in the hands of a few rapists who take sadistic pleasure in dressing up girls in front of a live online audience, taking suggestions from the highest bidder and torturing her before finally shoving their dicks in places they have no right to be in. My brain screamed at the injustice of it all and even though Dolly isn't a real person, my heart bled for her. No one should have to endure things like this. I don't want to give away any spoilers but I think this should be enough for you guys to get a general idea of this book.
Incase you decide to pick up this book, you should read the fourth chapter first, just to see if you can handle this book.
I was actually really satisfied with this book. Dolly took sweet revenge on all her tormentors, which made me leap with joy. I was not expecting such a satisfying story from a standalone and I was proved wrong.
People with triggers should definitely not pick this one up. There are several books with trigger warnings out there that pale in comparison to the amount of detail in this one. So you guys can try the other gems out there.

This is my first book by this author, but won't be my last. I've read my fair share of dark romances, and found this one refreshing.
It's dark, it's depraved, and definitely twisted! You'll be thrown off your game by the depths it will sink to. I found myself yanked right into the thick of things, despite the sadistic bent of Dolly's story! But the pleasure... you'll find yourself basking in it unexpectedly too. You just never know when it's going to happen.
So, when I tell you that if you enjoy suspenseful and dark stories, this is a book you’ll want to read, trust me on this. Highly recommended.
