Stella O’Neil has found a treasure of a house to list... a house possibly full of treasure, that is. Her new listing belonged to a man who died from a seemingly innocent accident. He also was embroiled in a bank investigation involving missing property and many enemies. The rumors have gone wild and people will stop at nothing to search it out.
If keeping treasure hunters out of her listing and avoiding being killed wasn't enough drama, Stella has finally found her mom and a way to rescue her. With the rest of her family in place, and the neighbor and a hunky policeman friend to help, she’s determined to get her mom out. But someone is just as determined to stop her, even through murder.
Stella has come this far fighting to unite her family. She won’t stop until she’s finished. But will she regret it?
Stella O'Neill has a new listing, but it is not an ordinary home. The home was built on a hill and has a fantastic view. Unfortunately, the previous owner had a somewhat unsavory history, which could pose a few problems with selling the home. The previous owner, Mr. Brown, was involved in a bank scandal regarding artifacts that were stolen from safety deposit boxes. Shortly thereafter, he became a recluse. His seclusion came to an abrupt end when he was killed.
There are actually two homes on the hill. Both were built by the same contractor and originally owned by the same family. The second home had been purchased by Charlotte Taylor a couple of years earlier. When Stella conducts an Open House, there are a lot of people who seem to be searching the house, rather than actually looking at a prospective purchase. To add to the mystery, Charlotte insists she sees a ghost wandering around the hill at night and even has it on video.
Who killed Mr. Brown? What happened to the stolen artifacts? Will Stella be able to unravel the mystery and sell the house?
CeeCee James has created a unique series, one which includes a main mystery, as well as a continuing background story. The main mystery in each book is resolved, with the background story progressing with each successive book. Even with the continuing background story, each book can easily stand on its own.
Ms. James has a most amazing imagination. Her murder mysteries are not your run-of-the-mill variety. She also presents a well-written and well-told story that weaves a little romance into this intriguing whodunit. This is the first experience Stella has representing a deceased client via their out-of-state trustee. The home is beautiful, a little spooky, and holding a few secrets. Of course, Stella and her curiosity are not able to ignore the strange goings-on at the house. She has an insatiable desire to get to the bottom of things. But being hampered physically, and somewhat emotionally as well - from injuries sustained in a recent near-death accident - has made her more dependent on her family and friends for help.
On the home front…Stella’s family is effectively beginning to function as the family unit she has yearned for most of her life. The last biggest obstacle they are facing is about to be successfully tackled. And just when Stella’s physical and emotional issues are being healed and she is contemplating romance, the romance that was swirling around her in the air seems to have blown away!
This is a fun, clean, and easy read. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys an entertaining whodunit with the added flavor of romance sprinkled throughout.
Book 6 in this really easy to read, well written, cozy mystery series set in Brookfield, Pennsylvania at the Flamingo Realty Companu. Stella has moved back to her home town to work at her Uncle's realty company, so she can restore harmony between her Father, Uncle and Grandfather . Additionally, she wants to find out more about her Mum who left when she was a child, and was subsequently incarcerated for murder many years previously.
Stella is selling a house with fantastic views, but when strange things start to happen there she gets suspicious, and looks into why the man who owned the property was killed, supposedly by a rogue shot. There seems to be a mystery to solve, and Stella is the person to do it.
There's a bit of romance too with a couple of local men vying for her attention, one of them working with the local police force.
Really easy to read, these books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.
What a crazy secret Stella’s new listing held, and she was curious enough to dig into the history of the house. That got her interested in proving that a hunting accident might’ve not really been what killed the house’s late owner.
I liked Charlotte who lived next door even though she did sound a little off when she talked about seeing a ghost. Wait, what? That was something Stella never signed up for. The ending was amazing and like previous books, the very ending led into what’ll probably be the theme of the next book.
Stella is getting the relationship with her mother to add to her life. She still wants Carlson but he lets her know he's dating, and then she has her Uncle Chris of Flamingo Realty wanting her to sell a house with a mystery. People come to view it and things start happening. Will Stella solve this unsolved mystery? Will her father visit with her mother this time at the women's prison?
Angela's unraveling world with a boot cast on and a mystery house to sell!
Love this series! Love the intertwining of Oscar & Georgie from CeeCee's other series Baked Street Cozy Mysteries. They are both really enjoyable murder mysteries with wholesome-ness. Each book I was drawn in and could not wait for the next book. Here I am again waiting for book 7. Thanks CeeCee!!! 😊
Great story. Stella is growing and changing. Mystery is great with a few twists. Enjoyable story to get lost in. I’ve read entire series and enjoyed them all.
Another chapter in Stella's life. This book ties up some ends but the element of focus is a designer house,WW11 bank fraud and a Lady in White the ghost. Read this family oriented series in all its disfunction and love.
This book had a wonderful plot and was very heart warming while at the same time making my heart race with suspense. I think this is my favorite book so far in the series. Definitely a five star.
I just finished rereading the first five books and now this sixth one for the first time. Stella is a source to be reckoned with. I especially like how deeply she is in touch with her emotions. Now I’m on to reread the next one.
really enjoyed the book, messed up and am going to have to read Terror on Top again, but no biggie, that way I'll be ready for the new mystery with Georgie and Stella...
Another great story in the Flamingo Realty series. Story is slow starting but quickly picks up pace and keeps a person guessing. Excited about the ending and left wondering if there will be more.
Stella does it again, this time with help from her uncle and Charlotte, the next door neighbor of a dead man. Mom also gets paroled, and Carlson finally makes his feelings for Stella known. What a great cozy series!
Stella is excited about a treasure of a house to sell. But when she pulls up in front she has a bad feeling. She starts to investigate a missing person from years earlier that lived in the house at one time. A must read to see what happens.
I really like this series...Stella is very busy trying to get her mom out of jail, bring her father, uncle and grandfather together after a serious family disagreement. All at the same time she is trying to sell a home with "Killer Views", oh yes it is said around town that the house has a treasure hidden somewhere within. Of course some crazies are looking desperately for this treasure and do not care who gets hurt. Stella is absolutely in the way of these treasure hunters and is in line to get hurt. Stella also has some people in her corner who will go the extra mile to keep her safe. Stella owes someone a great big thank you... who will it be.
Number 6 in the Flamingo Realty mystery series and really fun cozy mystery. I have enjoyed the whole series. Stella is not my favorite protagonist....she is scared of heights, of spiders, and things that go bump in the night, but she just keeps getting into situations where she's confronted with her phobias, perseveres and figures out the mystery. She's also a good friend of Georgie from the Baker Street mysteries (love those stories too and I see the next book will really be a continuation of both series.... sounds like fun!).
Stella faces new difficulties on many fronts in this fun story. Not only is she recovering from an attempt on her life that left her seriously injured, but she also becomes confused by the two men in her life that she may or may not have feelings for. Each new edition in this series not only has a dynamic new story but also contains the continuation of the broader arc of the story of Stella's mother and the mystery surrounding her imprisonment. I highly recommend this excellent addition to the series.
Stella wonders what she's got herself into, selling a house when the owners dead Add in some deadly crows , a ghost and vague rumors from the town, she sets out to find out what's the big secret no one wants to talk about. This series ties into others by the same author so be sure to check out Cele Cees other books too and don't miss the recipes.
Stella has a listing for a house where the owner died, supposedly, by accident. She encounters some very strange happenings along the way, including the neighbor who sees a ghost on several nightly occasions. All the while waiting to see if her mom gets out of prison and trying to figure out her feelings for the hunky deputy! But, since Stella is a heroine, she can do it all!!
Another fun adventure with Stella. I enjoy the characters and the cozy way the plot unravels as Stella keeps working in each puzzle piece. I'm so glad some relationships are being resolved and look forward to seeing how CeeCee James continues bringing readers fun and satisfying mysteries.
Great little mystery! I didn't guess the ending before it ended, and for me, that's the benchmark of a good read. Thoroughly enjoyed the characters, although it felt a little crowded toward the end. But I'm old and feeble, so that's probably just me! That aside, this one had surprises. I'm excited to read the next one.
Sophomoric writing. I can't believe there is an entire series of these. Oh, and if the author actually reads this: The Prologue is NOT the blurb that appears on the back of the book. The Prologue generally takes place before the rest of the story and contains elements of the story that the reader wouldn't know otherwise (sometimes it is written from a different character's perspective).
I can't wait to see what happens next.I love this series by CeeCee James. If you love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that keeps you turning the page then this series is a must read
