Who says you can’t fall in love at seven years old?
I know I did.
The love I felt for my babysitter, Camryn Davison at such a young age transformed over time.
By the time I was a teen that love turned into fantasies I knew would never come true.
By the time I saw her again at twenty-one I was determined to make those fantasies a reality.
If only she’d see me as the man I am now and not the little boy she used to soothe when I had nightmares as a child.
She’s the only one that has an issue with our seven-year age difference, but I’m determined to prove to her that a younger man is exactly what she needs.
Marie James is a mother of two boys and wife of 17 years. She's spent most of her life lifetime living in central Texas, with only short stays in South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. Her passions include reading everything under the sun and sewing, although she doesn't get to sew much these days!.
Writing has always been a passion and she's enjoying every step of the journey!
At the age of 7 and 14 the age span is immense but 21 and 28 is a whole different story!! When Samson was 10 he told his babysitter Cam that he was going to marry her someday. It was sweet then but now that they are both adults it’s sexier than anything.
Can Samson convince Cam that he isn’t that little boy that woke up with dreams of monsters with her comforting him? During this time Cam became a doctor and she has no plans of marrying or having children. Samson is doing everything in his power to show Cam that she is special to him and is trying everything in his power to convince her to give them a try.
This author knows how to give you everything you could hope for in an MC book especially with her sexy men. The Cerberus MC series has been awesome and this book was no different.
I 'read' this on audiobook and thoroughly enjoyed my time at Cerebrus MC.
It is obvious that the club has lots of history and therefore lots of stories that have come before.
Although this doesn't necessarily detract from the enjoyment of the story, it would have made a bit more 'sense' with a bit of background knowledge of the heavily featured supporting characters.
Will I start at the beginning and read from book 1, probably not. However, I will visit this MC again and who knows, perhaps I'll be persuaded to catch up!
Samson is the newest book in the Cerberus MC 2.0 series, and this time we have an older woman/younger man romance. Even though this story is different then past ones in the series, it was still the same fantastic writing I've grown used to with Marie James.
Samson was a likeable guy from the beginning, but he had some growing up to do. Camryn was very focused and driven, a relationship wasn't a priority for her. She had some walls up and couldn't just let herself jump into things with Samson. I kind of liked that Samson had to work for the chance with Camryn as it was clear that women had come easily to him before. It was part of his growth although I did feel sorry for him a few times when things felt like they were progressing only to have a setback.
Another thing that I've always loved about these series books is that you don't only get the couple's story. You get to see previous couples again. You get to see those relationships further develop. It's one of the things that keeps me coming back for more.
This book is a great addition to the series and one I would definitely recommend.
Gah this book and series just keep getting better and better. I absolutely love this bunch. These Cerberus men make me swoon with every story I read. This one has my emotions EVERYWHERE. Loved Cam and knew exactly how she felt near the end of the book. That sort of thing isn’t easy to deal with. Trust me been going through it for the past almost 9 years. And Samson was such a sweet guy. This is an older woman younger man book by 7 years. Nothing too drastic. Can’t wait to see what is going on next!
Honestly, this book was a slow but steady pull for me. I had problems getting into the lead characters for quite a while but when they finally attached themselves to me, it was full speed ahead and no looking back. While the lead male, Samson, is only 21 and still a little immature when dealing with women (college party boy mentality I like to call it), watching him move away from that attitude and seeing how he turned himself around to get the woman he wanted, was refreshing and sometimes painful to read. Cam is a doctor, although she is 7 years older than Samson, they do have history and have know each other all of their lives. However, for as much as she kept throwing his immaturity in his face, still thinking of his as the little boy she babysat for, there were many times that I wanted to reach into the book, grab her and tell her to grow up! It was the earlier parts of the book that were rough reading for me, only because of this very thing. BUT, when they both leveled out and began to really show us who they were and talked about what they wanted out of life, out of their relationship and even acknowledging that they were in a relationship (on her part), the story took on a totally new life and the read became something that I couldn't put down until I reached the sweet, then hilariously funny end! BEST CLIFFIE LINE EVER!!!!! Talk about snagging you for the next book, yep; hook, line and sinker!! Gotta know what happens next!
So, what started out slow and painful for me, built into a true love story that will capture your heart and show you that true and deep love will shine through, even and especially in the most brutal of times. It is when you realize exactly who and what the other person is and is capable of and just how much they really and truly care. It is when you realize that your heart is opening and accepting them, into your heart and into your life. Suddenly, your future is with them and you wouldn't have it any other way.
I actually ended up loving this book and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If, when you begin it, you struggle like I did; don't give up because what is to come will warm you to your bones.
Well the ninth instalment in the Cerberus MC was just as enthralling as I’d anticipated it to be and with daddies as fine as Samson’s are, well I knew I was in for a treat, and what a delicious treat he was I certainly wouldn’t mind him vying for my attention any day that ends with a 'Y' 😉.
Camryn is slightly older than Samson, she also used to be his babysitter which why her reluctance to date him is understandable, however Samson’s a man on a mission when it comes pursuing the beautiful Dr he’d fell in love with at the tender age of seven years old. His persistence pays off and he finally bags the woman of his dreams, there’s a slight bump in their road to love when Camryn gets lost in grief over the death of her mother but Samson proves he’s a man worth his weight in gold when he stands his ground refusing to be shut out by the grieving Camryn, having patience and giving her the time to find herself again and her way back to him, finally letting him all the way into her heart.
This is a five star read you won’t want to miss get it one-clicked now.
We first meet Samson at just seven years old. He tells his babysitter Camryn who is seventeen that’s he’s going to marry her when he turns ten.
Years pass and Camryn is doing her residency and now twenty eight. She’s come back home to finish. Samson is now twenty one and decided college life isn’t for him, so he’s come home to finish classes online.
Can Samson prove he’s no longer a child? Oh, his first attempt should have ended in her punching him.
Nine books into this series and I’m still in love with it. The books are different enough to keep my interest, while common enough to stay in the series. The characters we meet are believable and enjoyable to get to know. I applaud the author for keeping this series going. So, who’s next?
9 books in to this series and I am still loving it! Samson may be my favorite so far. I absolutely loved his and Camryn's story! The now 21 year old Samson returns home to run into his early childhood / teenage crush, who just happens to be his old babysitter that is 7 years older. He is determined to win her over and prove that he is now a man and not that little boy she once babysat.
I loved how their story developed. Their story is full of swoon worthy moments, in addition to some emotional heartbreak that brings the two closer together. Overall, Samson is a beautiful love story that proves age is just a number. Bring on book 10, Tug!!
This was a wonderful, sweet, sexy read. Who would have thought you could find your love at 10 years old?
I loved this book! Marie is an amazing author who writes amazing characters. So real to life. And I love how she incorporates all her previous characters in her books so you can continue to hear about them & love them.
Thanks for another great read Marie, I can’t wait for Tug’s story now!!
I was eager for this story as soon as I saw it coming. I've loved this series for awhile. While I loved the characters in this one, I struggled at times. It moved quick and left things in limbo or not fleshed out. I'm still trying to figure out things with Charli. I think it needed to not be so rushed towards the end and it would have made it better for me.
I forgot how much I love and adore all these characters and this story was such a fun read. I love the premise of the boy who loves his babysitter and then the application of it as adults. This book was fantastically written and kept me completely engrossed and loving the blend of their history and their present/future.
Samson told his babysitter at age 7 that he would marry her someday. Camryn was 14 at the time and didn't think much about it. Years later Camryn is back in town at 28 to finish her residency and has no time for romance. Samson at 21 knows college isn't for him. He is still in love with Camryn and wants to try for a relationship. This is a sweet, sexy and hot story. A good mc read and series.
Samson refusing to back down no matter what was probably my favorite part of this. There's no third act break up here, she tries when something terrible happens but Samson is boyfriend goals because he lets her get all her anger out without ruining them.
Samson is the son of Snatch (Jaxon) & Itchy (Rob) he was adopted by the couple when he was about 1 year & 1/2 along with his twin sister Delilah. Their parents were part of some religious cult or something like that. Anyways Samson has always been the wild, girl crazy, promiscuous, boy. Especially when he left to Denver for college, he partied and hooked up with any girl who smiled his way. That all changes when he accompanies his best friend Griffin to his doctors appointment at the local hospital. He runs into the woman that has been the star of all of his fantasies since he was a young kid. Camryn is a doctor who specializes in women and babies (an OBGYN) she is focused on furthering her career and has no time for dating or for games. She is 7 years older than Sam and used to be the trusted babysitter for all of the OG Cerberus MC members. When she sees Sam again she can't believe how much he's changed and how handsome he is. But there's one problem, she still sees him as the 7 year old little boy who she'd hold and comfort after his nightmares. That stops her from accepting his flirtatious advances. But Samson's dad's didn't raise a quitter, so he does everything under his power to make Cam see that he is now a grown 22 year old man, far from the little boy she used to babysit. He eventually wins her over and the book ends with them getting their HEA. This doesn't have the same drama that the other books have had but it was still a good read. And I can't wait to see what happens next in Tug's book. Definitely recommend this book and the rest of the series.
Samson Cerberus MC Series, Book 9 By: Marie James Narrated by: Kasha Kensington, Aaron Shedlock
When you know, you know! At 10 years old, Samson knows the woman he is in love with is his babysitter Camryn. Puppy love? Maybe. But years later, Samson makes good on those feelings and makes a play for the now established doctor. Can she see past his age? Will he always be the little boy she babysat? Can he break through her barriers? I had my doubts. But this persistent man proves that love prevails. Samson is quite the man. At first with his pick up lines, I was laughing out loud and rolling my eyes right along with Cam. But he proved me wrong. Cam has some issues to get through, and she finds strength in this man. It goes to show that age is just a number. This is my first book of this series, and while there is interaction with others in the MC, it can definitely stand alone. I enjoyed this heart felt story, with laughter and tears and love.
Kasha Kensington and Aaron Shedlock enhance this story with an impeccable narration. Kensington is a perfect fit for Kasha. She let us feel her stubbornness, and feel the changes in her. Shedlock melts my heart as Samson. He is strong, and never gives up using nuances to let us know exactly how he feels. These two are a fantastic team and make for an entertaining listen.
Before in the other books before this with him in it I didn’t think I was going to like him, at all honestly. But this book 100% proved me wrong, I actually loved him, now one of my favorite MMC’s in the series! Such a good man, definitely more mature, he treats Camryn so good, and is so strong. This sounds corny but my boyfriend has a lot of the same characteristics, just good hearted, but also strong and manly too, and when I act out he puts me in my place. Not in a violent way obviously, he’s just not a pushover. Which I’m grateful for. Perfect combo if you ask me, which is why I love Samson so much! Lol. In the very beginning he does act somewhat immature, but he’s also a young man so it makes sense. But then he reconnects with Camryn and everything changes when he realizes how much he cares for her and that she’s the last woman he ever wants to be with. He changes completely, he matures and grows up, he’s patient with her. The spice is a 3.5/5 for me. And the storyline was great. Occasionally there was a lot of sex but I don’t think it took over the book, I thought it was balanced perfectly. 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I'm listening to the audiobooks of this series and first off, both Aaron Shedlock and Kasha Kensington are great. Aaron's smooth voice and Kasha's bright voice both bring the stories to life.
On to this story- Samson has been in love with Cam since she babysat him (there's a bit of an age difference) and when he sees her again, he is absolutely unfailing in trying to get her to see him the way he sees her. A bit of push and pull and it's wonderful to see them falling in love. This one was a bit slower and a little less emotional, although the end was a little difficult but I absolutely adore the unfailing love that Samson shows her. Another sweet story that I didn't want to stop listening to. The series is definitely a must listen/read!
It's review time 🎧 Warning ⚠️ : spin-off, first love, a bit of an obsession, age gap.
Narrator score🎧 ; the narrators made an outstanding job with this book, I love them so.
Level of steam🔥: the book was hot! It took them a bit of time to get to the bed but when they did it was hot.
Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: we had some sad moment in the book, and I cried a lot in this moment, but overall the book was even funny.
The book itself📖: Samson is such a brat, and I loved him growing in this book, and becoming a man and found him self with his obsession and the love story was cute and sweet.
The author really put the twists into this book. It had the whole family in this story which was why I gave it five stars. This author did a great job at a storyline that included the family and new characters from the hospital and Camryn. Samson is something else, and a bit entitled having his dads and Delilah. However after a rave, waking up out of sorts, he realized that he wasn’t on the right track and that needed to change. Camryn is a new doctor with a mission, only medicine, that is until Samson ran into her in an elevator. Read On!
This was another good read. I will admit I was annoyed at many parts. Camryn is a 28 yr old doctor that use to babysit Samson and Delilah when young. There is a 7 yr age difference. Samson always crushed on Cam. When they see eachother with Samson being 21 and hits on Cam she isn't trying to hear it but he wasn't going to quit.
Where I was annoyed is that Cam behaves like an old lady....too uptight for someone still young. I honestly felt Samson was good for her bc she loosen up with him.
Glad they are now engaged and of course Lawson and Delilah are now married. But now Tug and Jasmine were caught and oh shit...what will happen now?!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was a cute fun and flirty read that we really enjoyed. Cameron and Samson played the cat a mouse game for a time but, it was impossible for Cameron not to fall for the sexy man that Samson has grown into.
This couple was hot and heavy and had incredible chemistry they had their ups & downs but, through it all Samson was there when Cameron needed her most.
The characters were great and we got to see a lot of the Cerberus kids grace the pages in this one. This couple was hot and sexy and Samson and was just what the doctor needed all work and no play and Samson was about to change all that. Cameron was the perfect boyfriend.
*****5 Samson Stars***** I love this series so much it gets better and better with every book. Camryn and Samson’s story is swoon worthy and some emotional heartbreak that brings the two closer together. Camryn is slightly older than Samson she used to be his babysitter which why her reluctance to date him, however Samson’s a man on a mission when it comes pursuing the beautiful Dr he’d fell in love with at the tender age of seven years old. Will Samson persistence pay off? I can’t wait for more.
It seems like I'm getting in a pattern of liking every other book. This book wasn't bad, it just wasn't that interesting. It's also the second book in a row that is on an altered timeline.
I really liked Samson but Cam is just ok. I didn't love the older woman storyline, either. To each their own but I'd rather not read romances with an older woman.
I also like the books where one of the two people is a Cerberus member. Obviously, neither of them are. This book will definitely not be a stand out in the series.
Can Camrys look past the seven year age gap to see the man that Samson really is or will she always view him as a boy that she babysat growing up? He had nightmares and always ended up calling her Mommy. Can she move past it to see the man he has become?
Samson is determined to show Camryn his true self. Can he get past the big mistake of showing up at her work and asking her to check out his package? Instead of showing the man he has become that move just proves to Cam that he’s the same little boy she babysat. He is determined to be the man she deserves.
Then tragedy strikes and Cam doesn’t believe she deserves happiness. Can Samson breakdown her walls and prove to her how deserving she is?
Each of the novels in author Marie James's Cerberus MC series has told a completely different love story with each better than the one preceding it! These are GREAT stories, full of compelling characters and intricate plots! Hard to put down once started, the realistic life drama of SAMPSON, like the other novel in this series, will draw readers in and keep them invested until the last word is read. I'd suggest readers keep tissues handy!
Book 9 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Samson & Camryn Nice 😊 Ok I loved Samson’s persistence; he’s known what he wanted since he was a young boy and he didn’t waver. I wasn’t invested in Camryn at all until her mom. I didn’t really care for her I was more interested in the secondary characters Cannon was annoyingly funny & Charlie was just a wild child🤷🏽♀️. Nice read but I hope this series picks back up it has waves ups and downs the last two books were downs for me.
