I am a recent Psychiatric NP Graduate with close to 20 years Nursing experience. . I have read and used many textbooks on the practice of Psychiatry throughout my professional education. I bought this book to help me understand the challenges that my patients face living with Bipolar Disorder. Through school, Mood Disorders appeared complex to me, and treating them even more complex. As soon as I picked up this book I was relieved that it was written in a way that I could understand and learn from. It wasn't long and I was teaching my patients from it. I would recommend any clinician experienced or a newbie to read this book - as it will change your practice and help your patients in profound and significant ways. Many patients many have been seen by multiple providers in the past that only brought temporary relief to their symptoms. I've heard multiple times and seen with my own eyes the ways this book changes their day to day functioning and my own way of working. I would recommend this book to any psychiatrist, nurse, graduate student, counselor, friend, or family member - as it provides possibilities and gives hope for a life that can be well lived with this disorder.
