A thorough review of the dark corruption that threatens rokugan…and the brave individuals fighting against it…

Shadowlands: The Essential Guide to the Dominion of Fu Leng is an important sourcebook for legend of the five rings fifth edition…covering the dreaded Shadowlands that threatens to consume Rokugan…

The history of the shadowlands is one of tragedy, horror, and mystery. Few individuals venture into the corrupted land without heavily armed escorts…and even after many generations little is known about the ever changing landscape…making the guardians of the carpenter wall ever vigilant for new threats and attacks…

Accompanied by some helpful maps, a majority of the book covers the history of the shadowlands and the encroaching expansion of the area (as well as the loss of parts of rokugan, including long lost holdings that some still seek to reclaim). Naturally it also includes the many unusual monsters and creatures that one might encounter…as well as mysteries of unknown ruins and long lost fortresses…

Of course a book of a dangerous land and dangerous antagonists would not be complete without coverage of the brave defenders protecting the rest of rokugan from the threat.

The crab clan naturally has a massive entry here, including documentation of their castles, weapons, and organization. They also have an interesting explanation of the history of the crab clan and how different families earned their names connected to ancient respected ancestors…

The ratfolk Nezumi also get some coverages with several clans covered…reluctant alloes of the Crab. In addition the minor Falcon Clan and their withchunting roots (good for detecting qnd fighting shadowlands corruption) get a healthy write up.

If you have an adventure that goes near the carpenters wall or beyond…or you just want a good way to use Crab or Falcon clan in your game…then this is useful…
